Be careful what you spend your money on. Pay attention to the value and expiration date of food, as it is overpriced. Pizza that is neither Italian, Roman, nor Neapolitan, but a pork porridge. The place is run-down, and there are cockroaches between the tables and in the bathrooms. And the owner is a typical "Romano" Italian, a cunning type who exploits and cheats his customers. If this business was in Italy, it has already been closed for hygiene reasons or commercial fraud. But it seems that he is in Germany for a specific reason or with the help of someone here in Germany. Good Germans... Italians who are ripping you off.

Somewhat surprising interior, but okay.

I often dream of the early days of Primo Market, when the pizza wasn't a crepe and the seafood was fresh from the vendor, not from a freezer. In the dining room itself, you're practically afraid the ceiling will collapse. The prices for a mini plate are exorbitant, and the manager isn't open to criticism; the staff is unfortunately overwhelmed. It's a shame what you've become, Primo Market.

Interesting concept: Tables are set between shelves of pasta, coffee, wine... There are two kitchens: a pizzeria and a kitchen for other dishes, primarily pasta. The service was very friendly and attentive, and payment is made at the cash register. We wouldn't eat pizza there again. The crust is flattened with a rolling pin, like a tarte flambée. There's practically no air left in the dough. The toppings are okay, but it has nothing to do with a pizza in the true sense of the word. Pasta dishes are the better choice there, but the portions are rather small. Wine and beer were well presented and at the right temperature. Conclusion: You can try it once, but you don't have to.

Everything is very good, both restaurant and pizzeria, I personally recommend the truffle pizza. The waiter Cristian is the best

Awesome store! It's basically a supermarket with an attached restaurant. You can eat here and there among the shelves, but there's also space in the dining room. The food is good to very good and authentic. Prices are reasonable. Ideal for larger groups who want to sample a variety of dishes together over the course of the evening.

I will never go back to this restaurant. The pizza is mediocre, we ordered rigatoni all'amatriciana and instead of rigatoni we got penne with two pieces of soft and hard to chew bacon. When it was time to pay, we reported this to the owner who is at the cash register and instead of taking charge of this comment he started to denigrate his employees saying that they are dirty, rude and that "unfortunately you can't beat them up anymore". I found these comments really inappropriate and very disrespectful towards those who work there and the attitude of a truly arrogant and small person. He also kept calling me "love" and having a paternalistic attitude towards me. I strongly advise against setting foot in this restaurant and those who have left positive reviews have no idea what Italian cuisine and good customer service are.

Apparently, but oh, I'm completely convinced. I've rarely eaten such good pizza and pasta. Great service, super delicious food, great atmosphere. 100% worth the price/performance ratio.

There were 16 of us there, and everything was amazing. I've never had such delicious spaghetti carbonara.

Very important for us: dogs allowed! ❤️ Pizza and calzone were great and filled me up well. The pasta dish and tiramisu were also extremely tasty, but they could have been a little more. We each had a main course, 2-3 drinks and dessert, costing around €30 per person. The ambience in the large open space including a supermarket was initially unusual when we went in, so "are we in the right place?", but it worked for us. Paying at the supermarket checkout at the end is also possible 👍

Exceptional restaurant in an Italian supermarket, industrial atmosphere, which makes the whole thing interesting. Great products are processed. Everyone was very relaxed and nice. Everything is authentic Italian and not Germanized. Super tasty thin pizza. Gladly again and again. Also suitable for larger groups.

Long waiting times, food good but nothing special and relatively high price, ambience but original

Waited two hours for our food. The food was okay.

Food only came after over an hour, the portions are an absolute joke for the price, none of us were full. The "Italian charm" was such that we, as three young women, were not taken seriously at all. I had to argue with the waiter for 2 minutes about my order (I "should order something else that would be more worth it for him to carry"). When we asked the boss at the checkout about the size of the portions, we were fobbed off with "Amore, you don't understand" and babbled incoherently...it was really a complete failure.

We were in the restaurant with a large group. The food came relatively quickly and the pasta/pizza was also delicious. The portions of the pasta were a bit small. The atmosphere was great and very authentic and the waiters were nice and accommodating.

You have to think it's funny to eat between canned Italian tomatoes and biscotti in a supermarket. The food is always good. The service as well - there are one or two funny conversations. The boss is the boss and runs the shop with loving strictness. Actually you can only find it good here!!

Wer auf eine leckere Pizza Romana steht ist hier absolut richtig ( sie mit einem Flammkuchen zu vergleichen , wie ein anderer Gast , ist peinlich sowie unwissend und wird dem einen wie dem andere nicht gerecht) Die römischen Spezialitäten sind extrem lecker und authentisch. Carbonara, Amatriciana, cacio e Pepe, trippa a la Romana oder du Pizzen … Preis Leistung absolut fair …. Gerne immer wieder .!

Best carbonara and pizza in Freiburg

The food was absolutely amazing, staff was so friendly, polite and professional, the athmosphere is great! We were 10 people, and the order arrived unexpectedly fast. Regarding food, I had pizza with buratta and parma, and it was one of the best buratta I’ve tried in my life (or maybe the best)!!! The daw was as it should be, balance of ingredients is perfect. Highly recommended! As I understood, thay have daily offerings, and we were lucky to try their meatballs with tomato and cheese, awesome as well.

The Pasta Octopus was a very small portion and with ambiguous quality. The pizza Salsiccia and Potato was too wet at the center and very dry at the border. The owner is very arrogant and not sunny at all. I can't recommend it.

In the past, you could recommend the Primo Market with a clear conscience. Unfortunately, that changed in a very short time. The shortage of skilled workers has probably forced the owner to hire staff who have obviously never worked in a catering establishment before. The pasta with salmon and orange was a poem, since the cook with the blue hair has been at work, the pasta dishes have all tasted disastrous. Every Pakistani supplier can do it better. Too bad. The pizzas are OK. By the way, the food monitoring report didn't surprise me

Unfortunately the quality of the food has declined. Everything was quite tasteless and we had to add generous amounts of seasoning.

Great pizza & pasta & the produce is lovely as well

This was by far the worst Italian in a long time. - Atmosphere run down - Pizza was cold and paper thin. On my seafood pizza there were 6 mussels and 8 shrimp. Both the size of a 1cent piece! This for €14.50 is more than cheeky. - There was a smell of gas coming from the ventilation. - at the end a spider rappelled down from the ceiling :D 1 beer + 1 small shandy + pizza €24.70 Only positive point: > the staff was nice

Ich war früher so gerne dort… Während das Ambiente irgendwie Charme hat und für Freiburg sicher sehr besonders ist, passt es mittlerweile leider beim Essen nicht mehr. Die Pastagerichte sind leider ziemlich fad und auch die Pizza ist nicht mehr das was sie mal war. Der Service ist total nett, aber chaotisch. Im Restaurant sollte man nicht zu genau in die Ecken sehen. Günstig ist es deswegen leider auch nicht. Ich hoffe das wird alles irgendwie wieder…

I used to love being there so much… While the ambience has some charm and is certainly very special for Freiburg, unfortunately the food no longer fits. Unfortunately, the pasta dishes are pretty bland and the pizza is no longer what it used to be. The service is really nice, but chaotic. In the restaurant you shouldn't look too closely into the corners. Unfortunately, it's not cheap either. I hope everything will work out somehow...

Pizza Frutti di Mare as it once was, now just a simple comparison. No more quality. Nothing special, but it has become more expensive. No problem if the quality is the same, but there are much better ones in Freiburg... I've been there several times in the past, but it's no longer worth the trip. In addition, the location is no longer in good condition.

You have to like this improvised restaurant. The many regular guests prove that this is possible and even makes sense. The food is high quality and tasty. The staff is friendly and also up for a joke. Since we are not from Freiburg, we unfortunately cannot include the restaurant in our standard program.

Waiting over an hour for really mediocre food doesn't make up for a cool concept (which is also getting pretty old). Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right either, that was different. It was our last visit, it's a shame, it could be a cool concept, but it seems like they're just making whatever money they can.

Very courteous service. However, the ambience is a bit old, the pizza is very thin, quite dry and not very seasoned for the price (and the waiting time of over 90 minutes). It was much better a few years ago.

The quality of the food is incredibly low, we felt sick afterwards! The food tasted like nothing, it was hardly seasoned and some of it wasn't even salted. It's just a bunch of ingredients thrown together without any love. The frying oil also tasted old and the fried vegetables were dripping with oil. The food doesn't taste like Italy and has nothing to do with Italy at all! The lettuce was old, wilted and brown, even a rabbit wouldn't eat it and would immediately say no! We were very disappointed! Lost time and inedible food. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there.

My favorite restaurant!! The special location makes visiting the restaurant an experience. The food is great, the pizzas are very tasty and better than the pasti.

The pizza is thin and tasty, unfortunately it goes cold after 5 minutes. The boss is really a disaster. First he told us that he has problems with getting older and that he bought a rope for Christmas to hang himself. Really strange irony! When paying, what was drunk was charged for a large beer instead of a small one. Which the boss justifies by saying that Italian beer always costs €4.9 whether it is 0.3 or 0.5. Funny how things were different on our last visit. Such a rip-off and blatant lie to your face from the business owner himself, no wonder you want to hang yourself with such a management style and lifestyle

Perfect Italian food! The taste was an absolute Italian dream 😍 we had pizza with burrata, two starter plates and 3 other dishes. Everything was very delicious! Only the ambience takes some getting used to because it is in an Italian supermarket. But it didn’t bother us 😇

A concept that probably doesn't exist anywhere else. A restaurant in the supermarket. With ingredients that you can take home with you. If you want to eat authentically Italian food or need pasta, sauce, coffee, or anything else for home, you're sure to find what you're looking for here!

Einfach nur noch abzocke ! Waren gestern Abend zu viert Essen, die Qualität ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig! Vorspeise Salumi: 5 Scheiben Salami und 1 Scheibe Mortadella ...18.90€ das ging so weiter.... tagliata di Manzo 6st Fleisch 0,5cm breit lieblos auf verwelktem Rucola angerichtet .... 28.90€ Enkel hatte Tagliatelle mit Wildschwein Ragu bestellt... es kamen Paccheri die einer Suppe schwammen, Pizza ist eher ein Flammkuchen. Die Lüftung hat nicht Funktioniert... also macht die Türe auf, was natürlich bei diesen Temperaturen- 1° sehr unangenehm Kalt wurde.

The food was served cold to the table. A pizza that doesn't deserve the name... very thin dough, more like a tarte flambée, very dry and dusty.

Just a rip off! Four of us had dinner last night and the quality left a lot to be desired! Starter salumi: 5 slices of salami and 1 slice of mortadella...18.90€ it went on like this.... tagliata di Manzo 6 pieces of meat 0.5cm wide carelessly served on wilted rocket....28.90€ Grandson had ordered tagliatelle with wild boar ragu... paccheri came that resembled soup, pizza is more like tarte flambée. The ventilation didn't work... so opened the door, which of course was very unpleasantly cold at these temperatures - 1°.

It was nice, but unfortunately I didn't like the pizza. The pizza dough was far too brittle and airy and the pizza was far too spread out in the middle. The atmosphere is nice though.

Great restaurant with a unique atmosphere in an Italian supermarket. You are greeted at the supermarket checkout by a charming Signore. Our first reservation the evening before literally fell through due to water damage. The operators can't do anything about it. We then made another reservation for the next day. The food is not very ambitious but is authentically Italian, the staff are all young and nice, just a little uncoordinated. As the evening progressed the place became packed. You have to experience it to enjoy the food between the shelves full of olive oil, pasta grissini etc. We had to wait a relatively long time between the starter and the main course. But because of the great atmosphere, that didn't matter at all. Price-wise it was okay too. There is only one rating here: 5 stars!

I don't recommend it anymore! The owner rejected the voucher we bought for Christmas as a gift for customers and friends, we bought a lot and they were all rejected. He said, absurdly, that he didn't recognize them even though they were signed by him and had their logo. Very disgusting, we paid and couldn't go there eat. Apart from the unsuitable environment for comfortable dining, The staff is rude and the food is served randomly. As Last time I was there, two people who were with me got theirs meals, and when they finished eating, my plate came, like it looks more like a bar. Poor quality.

Very bad experience that I will never try again or recommend it for anyone. It took more than an hour until our dishes arrived, and my dish did not come because they forgot it. Other than that, I ordered pasta with salmon and orange “as described” and what I received is pasta with a “sprinkle” of salmon that you can not see, the orange was just shredded on top and the dish costed 15€! Never come back again.

Aufgrund der vielen positiven Empfehlungen, auch von Freunden, sind wir zu viert um 18 Uhr an unseren Tisch gebracht worden. Um 18.30h durften wir bestellen. Die Vorspeise kam um 19 Uhr, sie war geschmacklos und lieblos. Um 19.30 Uhr wurde aufgrund unserer Anfrage 1 Pizza serviert, eher hingepfeffert… danach kamen die 3 lauwarmen, eher kalten Pasta-Gerichte. Der Hammer waren die 3 völlig unterschiedlichen Portionen! Den Lachs musste man suchen. Wir waren hungrig, aßen auf, wollten bezahlen… die Rechnung, mit der man sich dann zur Kasse begibt, kam nicht. Also wieder gewartet, nachgefragt, dann selbst an der Theke geholt. Dann an der Kasse gewartet, gewartet, gewartet…. Nachgefragt, ob wir bezahlen dürften. Endlich! Der Chef kam. Auf die Frage, ob alles okay war, antwortete ich wahrheitsgemäß, dass wir ewig warten mussten. Er sagte dann patzig: dann kommen Sie einfach nicht mehr wieder!!! Genau das werden wir machen. Der Laden ist eine ziemliche Abzocke geworden. Den Charme und die Qualität von früher gibt es leider nicht mehr!

The food here is very tasty for the price. We have been here several times and have tried both pasta (tonnarelli carbonara) and pizza (with porcini mushrooms & buffalo mozzarella). The pasta is highly recommended, but we weren't entirely convinced by the pizza. It could also be because the waitress somehow forgot and we only got our pizza after almost 50 minutes, which made us a little more critical than usual. The ambience of a former supermarket that gradually became a restaurant without anyone giving a thought to the renovation/refurbishment/lighting concept or all the other bells and whistles is very charming. It has an overall thrown-together feel, but the people are friendly and it somehow has the charm of a friendly neighbor inviting you into their large living room.

Very large selection of different pizzas, as well as pasta. Very tasty in taste. When it came to the wine selection ("house wine"), the staff was a bit overwhelmed with language when it came to specifying the types of wine on offer.... Atmosphere interesting, like in an Italian supermarket, unfortunately a bit loud. Regarding the quality of the food, a clear recommendation!

I used to be a regular customer at Primo, now I'm back after a long time and totally disappointed. Very bad service. The service was inattentive, not friendly, and brought empty pepper mills and the wrong drinks several times. The starters are now really miserable. Simply expensive, small, boring, tasteless and served with stale bread - it used to be different. Pizza and pasta are still awesome!!! The ambience is now a bit over the top. The ceilings etc. are getting very old. Less is more, just like before. I won't be coming back any time soon.

Der nette Service war das einzig Positive. Wir haben viel zu lang warten müssen. Der 1. kleine gemischte Salat bestand nur aus Blattsalaten und einer aufgeschnittenen Kirschtomate. Da der Blattsalat offensichtlich nicht frisch war (dunkle, leicht matschige Stellen) reklamierte ich und bekam dann den 2. Versuch mit ein paar Weißkohl- und Karottenstreifen, Blttsalaten und der Kirschtomate. Die Portion fand ich zu klein für den Preis. Essig und Öl gab man selber dazu. Die Pizza dauerte viel zu lang, kam nur lauwarm an den Tisch und hatte ohne Ankündigung statt Kürbisstreifen (Zucca) Zucchinistreifen. Auf Nachfrage sagte man uns, dass sie leider keinen Kürbis vorrätig hätten. Nach 2 Minuten kam die Bedienung wieder, entschuldigte sich und bot an, diese Zucchinipizza nicht zahlen zu müssen und zusätzlich noch eine Pizza mit Kürbis (der nun doch gefunden wurde) zu bekommen. Dafür hatte ich leider keine Zeit und auch keinen Hunger. Auch der bestellte Espresso dauerte mindestens 10 Minuten bis er auf dem Tisch stand. Das Restaurant war nicht einmal zu 1/4 gefüllt. Die Decke ist (dreckig) gelb und manche Tische stehen zwischen Regalen. Das hat auch nichts mehr mit „italienischem Charme“ zu tun. Es war das 2. Mal in Folge, dass ich nicht zufrieden war und für mich auch das letzte Mal, wenn sich dort nicht einiges ändern sollte.

Unfortunately very disappointing...the pasta was too al dente and barely edible, it lacked flavor and some of the ingredients were obviously not fresh. The vegetarian antipasti was dry and not fresh either. The bread was delicious and the employees were very welcoming.

We didn't get a main course for two hours - despite asking 4 times - and then left without it. That shouldn't be the case.

Great Italian in an Italian shop. You sit between shelves with pasta etc. It's fun. The food is very tasty and authentic. Price-performance ratio is also right. The service and especially the boss are very friendly and helpful. And once you've eaten pasta, you can buy it and cook it at home 😀. We recommend the guanciale at the deli counter. A must!!! We would definitely like to come back.

Truly a downfall. It's a shame about what was once a great restaurant that we always enjoyed visiting. Now every corner is filled with tables and chairs (profit seems to be the deciding factor), the food is ok to meager, the price-performance ratio is no longer right (pasta with five small pieces of eggplant almost 15 euros) and the service is loveless and unreliable. Complaints (antipasti was fermenting) were not addressed. We won't be coming back again.

You're sitting in an Italian grocery store with not great seating and you have to wait a long time for your food. The food is tasty, but the portions are extremely small and the price is really high. I paid €15 for 5 forks of spaghetti and wouldn't be completely full, and the pizza is large but very, very thin, almost like a wrap and doesn't work really fed up.

Informal place, halfway between a supermarket and a restaurant. Good Italian cuisine, especially pasta and pizza. Welcoming and helpful staff.

Der Primomarket…. leckeres Essen aber für 15€, 5 Nudeln… sehr schade. Von den Portionen wird man nicht satt. Geringerer Preis oder größere Portionen -> perfekt!!!

This charming spot is half restaurant, half store, offering authentic Italian products. The tiramisu was exquisite, coupled with a limoncello spritz, it made my night! A must-visit for anyone craving a genuine Italian experience.

Since we have been living in Freiburg, we have often eaten at Primo Market. Food was very tasty and the prices were okay for the quality. I have no idea what happened, whether the owner changed or whether extreme austerity measures were simply taken. There were six of us. 2x paste and 4xpizza + starters. The starter “platter” with the vegetable antipasti was ridiculous. A spoonful of olives, a spoonful of beans, three pepper strips, two slices of eggplant and half an artichoke heart. The other appetizer consisted of a few sausage slices. You have to order extra bread (4 slices, there were six of us so there wasn't even one slice per person in there) for 2.50 🙂 together that was over €20 for hardly anything to eat. The pasta ridiculously small portion. Far too lightly seasoned for our taste. Unfortunately the noodles are not al dente but rather crunchy in some cases. And also €14 for a ladle of pasta. Pizza was okay. Hence one more star. We were excited to show our visitors this cute restaurant. Unfortunately, we are disappointed and almost embarrassed to leave because the quality and performance have decreased so much.

He estado en Primo Markt para cenar después de que un amigo me sugirió este lugar. Le preguntamos a la camarera si era posible tener una combinación de 2 pastas en un plato. Dijo que no era posible tenerlos en el mismo plato, pero podríamos haber tenido la MITAD de la porción de cada uno (y esto generalmente corresponde a la mitad del precio o al menos a una reducción en el precio completo). Una de las dos pastas (Tagliatelle al Salmone) estaba extremadamente seca, sin rastros de sal en absoluto. Parecía que esta pasta se había calentado muchas veces. Definitivamente terrible para la pasta italiana, tal vez bien para el estándar alemán, pero soy italiano y eso es una pasta INACEPTABLE en Italia. Cuando pedimos la factura nos cobraron el precio completo por ambas mitades - porciones de pasta... Nos quejamos con el gerente y nos dijo: "No tenemos media porción en el menú, eso fue un error de la camarera decirte que podíamos hacerlo". Y eso es todo... Tuvimos que pagar el precio completo, pero la cantidad de pasta que recibimos fue definitivamente la mitad, en comparación con la pasta que vimos en las otras mesas. No muy bien, aunque tengo que decir que una de las dos pastas, la trippe alla romana y la tiramisù estaban buenas. En general, nuestra experiencia con Primo Markt NO ha sido buena.

Always a bit expensive but proportionate. Today, bored waitresses walk around without any spirit. We waited almost 10 minutes for our card and only received it after asking twice. The food was a disaster and has nothing to do with the quality of “back then”. The pizza base is almost as thin as a tarte flambée, was partly burnt and dry on top of that. The original Pasta Cabonara was sprinkled with so much powdered pepper that it actually only tasted like pepper. The taste of the egg yolk is missing because the pasta was probably too hot and the egg has set, the bacon was carelessly cut into Legoglotz-sized cubes... It's a shame about this great shop with a great boss who used to be available to talk about AS Roma, Juve and AC Milan. Today he is practically only visible behind the counter.

Used to be great. But today we waited 1.5 hours for food and received three carelessly prepared lukewarm, tasteless “ravioli”. What a shame. But we went home with a €70 bill… Otherwise the ambience was great. A pity :-(

Great idea to combine the restaurant with the supermarket!! Very good pizza and friendly and knowledgeable staff!!!! To be recommended!!!!!

We always go to Primo Market, but yesterday it was a disaster. The pizza was a tarte flambée and cold. Veg. Little starter but expensive. Ambience very dusty. Unfortunately that was it for us.

Absolutely authentic and charming. Great pizzas and very nice employees.

Not worth it anymore. Quality and flair have been lost. Only profit counts. A basket with 2 slices of bread and a few slices is served with the salad. You pay extra for it at the checkout…☹️. A pity. It used to be a highlight in Freiburg

Once good, now a disaster: The sad decline of the Primo market Primo Market was once my absolute favorite restaurant for authentic Italian food. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the quality has declined so drastically that it's hard to believe. We used to go there regularly, but after a few extremely disappointing visits we stayed away from the restaurant for a long time. Now, after a long break, we wanted to give the restaurant another chance and unfortunately found that the food had gotten even worse. I absolutely cannot understand the new, positive reviews and strongly suspect that they are purchased fake reviews. The food was simply miserable. The salmon tagliatelle consisted of tasteless, overcooked pasta with a little butter. You literally had to look for the salmon, the pieces were so tiny. My previous favorite dish, tagliatelle salsiccia, was unrecognizable: bland pasta with watery, gooey mushrooms and what was supposed to be salsiccia. Impossible to eat. In addition to the disappointing food, the location itself is also completely run down. It seems as if nothing has been invested in decades. The ceilings and walls are yellowed, and mice can occasionally be seen scurrying between the shelves. This condition is absolutely unacceptable for the prices. It's a real shame to see how a once great restaurant has become such a disappointment.

I had a Margarita and it was not good, it felt like it was one of those make it yourself pizza boxes that you you could easily get from aldi or edeka.

The pizza is sensational! The service is very good and the ambience is unique. A must-visit for every stay in Freiburg!

Waited 2 hours, pasta was really bad

We had a great evening with delicious food and super friendly service Primo Market! Very unusual ambience and really excellent pizzas. Absolute recommendation!

It was not our first time there. If you like thin Pizza then it is ok. But apart from the Pizza which is a matter of taste, we tried 3 different kinds of pasta and they came to us not well cooked. The portions are extremely small and the sauce not enough. In other case we would accept to pay 15 euros for a portion but not for something that small. The dessert was ok but we dont like leaving a restaurant hungry even when having also a dessert. I do not thing we will go there again.

The pizza is too thin, the salad doesn't taste good and neither does the gnocchi
