Poseidon in Cuxhaven

We ate there on our vacation. Because of the great reviews here on Google, we decided we had to give it a try. And what can I say, it was absolutely worth it. Nice welcome, lots of space to eat and the food was simply a dream. I haven't eaten Greek like this in a very, very long time. There were large portions and the food was on point. It's really nice to sit there, the atmosphere is very cozy. The waiters are very attentive, but not intrusive. That evening we booked a table again for another day. A table reservation is absolutely recommended so that you can get a table! Keep it up, it was so nice with you!

Poseidon Greek restaurant We had a reservation for 6 p.m. What can I say, it was great. Staff quick and attentive. Atmosphere was great and the food was great. We'll be back. Attention: reserve in advance.

Great Greek restaurant with plenty of choice on the menu. If you don't find anything there, you're not hungry Despite being relatively full, we were able to order quickly and didn't have to wait long. The food was very tasty and sensibly portioned. Really recommended, 5*****star deluxe

We ate there and it was really amazing. Great food at a great price, incredibly great service and everything around it was a dream. The whole store was fully booked and yet the food arrived after 20 minutes! We'll definitely be back!

As always: consistently very good quality of the food. Always happy to come back. Two pages of starters on the menu. Simply order up and down and leave out the main course. Good alternative for groups of 4 people or more.

I was about to order a table and was rudely cut off. The “gentleman” then simply hung up. I won't book a table there again. 🤷

Kommen schon seit Jahren in dieses Restaurant. Was uns hier immer wieder auffällt, dass es hier viele Stammgäste gibt. Was somit schon für sich spricht!! Das Essen ist immer wieder super. (Ich liebe den Galaktobureko!) Das Personal, ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir werden auch künftig, wenn wir wieder mal im Norden in der Nähe sind, im Poseidon vorbei schauen.

Very satisfied. But please place your order for drinks as soon as possible :-). It's best to do it immediately after handing out the menu. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

The restaurant exudes a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is attentive and helpful and friendly. We didn't have a reservation but were still allocated a table for two people. The food came pretty quickly. In terms of taste, we recommend it at any time, from the starter to the main course. We are at the campsite in Cuxhaven and when we are back there we will definitely eat there again. We wish the Poseidon team that they continue to be so attentive to their guests.

I've eaten there several times, the food is great. There is a lunch menu if you are just a little hungry. Otherwise a great selection of delicious food. The service is always super friendly and quick. There are very few parking spaces but there are enough in the area. Price/performance are top. Please keep it up.

7 people had dinner yesterday. Personal reception, were accompanied by the boss to the reserved table. Food was great as always, everyone got their food at the same time. Ate fish there for the first time, salmon perfect. Great service. Can highly recommend Poseidon. However, it is an advantage to book a table as the restaurant is busy.

While looking for a restaurant we came across the beautiful Poseidon. Despite a spontaneous visit, we got a table straight away. The welcome was very warm. We immediately felt comfortable. The service was extremely courteous and competent. The food was first class, you could really taste the love. Kudos goes to the owners of the restaurant. The lady and the gentleman were very nice and always gave us a good, familiar feeling. I can recommend this restaurant 100 percent. We'll be back! Thank you for the hospitality ❤️

We came here because of the many positive reviews and were not disappointed. Going to a Greek restaurant as a vegetarian always involves a certain amount of risk when it comes to the variety of dishes. Here, however, we were pleasantly surprised. There is a good vegetarian selection, both for starters and main courses. The service was extremely friendly and took care of our well-being despite the full restaurant. We ordered the Dimitra plate (see picture) as well as garlic bread and baked spaghetti. All three dishes convinced us 100% in terms of taste. I have rarely eaten such a good Metaxa sauce and the coleslaw is also uniquely delicious. The portion of the Dimitra plate could be a little larger, then it would be perfect. Overall, we were full. The price-performance ratio is right here. We would be happy to come back should we be in the region again. Highly recommended.

Good selection of Greek food, nice staff, if you want to eat in the evening in the season, it's better to book seats in advance.

For us one of the best Greeks in Germany. Everything is just harmonious and super tasty. The staff is very friendly and absolutely professional. We will definitely come back when we are in Cuxhaven.

Wir hatten keinen großen Hunger und daher die Kellnerin gefragt ob wir einen Kinderteller bestellen dürfen. Sie bejahte. Wir bekamen also unser Gericht, zu dem auch ein Getränk und ein Eis gehörte. Als wir dann das Eis aussuchen wollten, hießt es von einem anderen Kellner, dass nur Kinder ein Eis dazu bekommen. Dann wurde der Chef geholt, der direkt lauter wurde und sagte, dass nur Kinder bis 12 Jahre dieses Essen bestellen dürfen. Dann sagte er, dass wir das inkludierte Getränk selbst zahlen müssten und auch das Eis extra zahlen müssten. Hat die Kellnerin vorher mit keinem Wort erwähnt. Schade dass man so mit Gästen umgeht..

I would like to write something else… I was really looking forward to the evening. We ordered two children's meals and had to pay for them like “normal meals”. This was not pointed out in advance. In the end we were very rudely informed by the manager that we were not entitled to this menu. I think this is a shame because the evening up to that point had been very funny. We started there very enthusiastically and left disappointed. Ps: Fortunately, managing directors are interchangeable, the kitchen and service were top!

Wow…that was fun!! Because of the good reviews we reserved a table, Slight doubts arose when we arrived... the external appearance of the restaurant and the surroundings dampened the anticipation somewhat. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the skepticism disappeared: very friendly welcome, nice ambience, typical Greek menu with what felt like 150 dishes... it fits! The dishes were consistently top: butter-tender liver, spicy gyros, salads with very well-seasoned dressing, nothing to complain about. The farewell was just as warm as the greeting... we have saved the address!

The restaurant has been one of our favorites in Cuxhaven for years. If you don't just want gyros, I recommend the Lukulus plate or the special plate. Simply delicious.

I've been back to Cuxhaven for a while now and it's still as delicious as it used to be, including the courteous service. Definitely again!

Yesterday, 4 + 3 children spontaneously walked in, everything was reserved and we were still able to quickly sit down at a late reserved table for 1.5 hours, which was really good - the children were hungry...we were warmly welcomed and looked after immediately. ...the food was very seasoned, nicely prepared, everything was hot and the portions were just normal, nothing was soaked in fat or covered in sauce, it was perfect all around...all the service staff were attentive and quick... .we are on vacation here if we are in the area again we will come back .thanks

Great food at reasonable prices, very friendly staff, were there on a Saturday evening. Tip: It's always best to reserve in advance. It was crazy how busy the restaurant was. That alone speaks for itself.

Highly recommended. Even at lunchtime you almost need a reservation. That says a lot. We really enjoyed the food. Nice service, the highest score here, even if it takes a little longer to get the bill, but where can you get 2 ouzo for lunch? That makes up for it :-D Ambience also a 5.0 very cozy, you feel completely at home. therefore 3 times a 5.0 one of the best Greek restaurants in the north, if not the best.:-D

Super nice team and the food is really good

I've lived in the area for years and used to frequent this store, but as time goes on the situation is getting worse. Firstly, the waitress is always brusque and never eager to demand anything from her. But the worst behavior came from the two people at the bar. As soon as I asked them if I could pay, they started shouting and then insulting me in Greek. I have Greek friends and understand a little. Far from it.

Tip top! Highly recommended! This is exactly how I want to be served as a guest, and this is exactly how I expect the quality of the food to be. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant, kinderfreundlich (Kindergerichte mit Eis und Getränk), das Personal ist freundlich/ höflich/ flink, auch sind sie sehr nett im Umgang mit Kindern. Das Essen kommt sehr schnell, obwohl sehr viel los ist und man fühlt sich richtig wohl. Das Essen war wirklich lecker! Vorher reservieren kann nicht schaden ;-) Waren im Urlaub hier und es war ein gelungener Abend!

Men/women get exactly what they ordered and not a salad that they had canceled or something similar. The prices are very humane for the quality. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. There's a sign outside that promises or makes it seem like you're getting a Coke with your lunch menu. However, after asking, this was clarified that it was just advertising!

Chic restaurant, modern, bright and nicely decorated. You are greeted by the boss and brought to the table including the obligatory ouzo. Luckily I got there early, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten my meal. Ie. It's best to book the table in advance. The service is nice and very accommodating. The starters, tzatziki and saganaki were quickly brought to the table. Tastes really good. With the main course you get a small mixed salad, which was also deliciously prepared. The main course was the farmer's plate. Juicy, tender pork steaks, 3 pieces, with rice and a small portion of tzatziki. So Greek fan, I got my money's worth here. Price performance was absolutely fine, at the end there was another ouzo on the house. All in all, a visit to this Greek restaurant is highly recommended 😉❗💯

Absolute 5 stars from start to finish. The food was simply fantastic. I would have given it 6 stars if it were possible. In a great atmosphere with great service. We were addressed by name the whole time, very nicely and our child was also taken into consideration. We will definitely come back at the next opportunity and can only recommend this restaurant to everyone. Advance reservation is also recommended. We were lucky to get a seat at 5:30 p.m. However, there were a lot of tables reserved and the place filled up quickly.
