Very tasty. The meat skewers were very tender and juicy. The pasta was good, but not a man's portion. And I missed the olives in the salad; they would have been even more well-rounded.

I was there with my wife on August 23rd and wanted to have a nice dinner on our wedding anniversary, but unfortunately, the food arrived quickly but cold, and the gyro was very marbled, just like the souvlaki skewers, which I'm used to better quality. All the other tables also received ouzo before and after the meal, but we weren't even offered one.

The other reviews didn't overpromise, and this is certainly one of the best Greek restaurants on the North Sea coast. The salad buffet, the simple bread with tzatziki, and the main courses (salmon and Greek platter) were all simply delicious. We will definitely be back.

We had one lamb chop and one lamb fillet, both of which were specifically ordered medium rare. Of the five chops, two were black on one side, and all were just dry and completely unseasoned. The lamb fillets were also completely dry, and neither of the dishes had even seen the salt shaker. Only the salad at the self-service buffet was okay. For us, it was pure mass production!

It's a great place to sit outside, with a view of the sea. Inside, it's very noisy.

Although somewhat tucked away at the end of the waterfront promenade, the first impression was that the restaurant was almost full—a good sign. Nevertheless, tables were still reserved for walk-ins without reservations. Pleasant ambiance despite the relatively large dining room. Efficient, friendly, and unobtrusive service. "Standard" menu selection (not a derogatory opinion!), lunch menu available. The food was consistently delicious, both starters and main courses. Conclusion: Our first visit, but we'd be happy to return.

We arrived very early and were able to snag a table in the large outdoor area without a reservation. After that, it filled up quickly, so we recommend making a reservation! For dinner, we had baked gyro with Metaxa sauce and a grilled platter. Side dishes and salads were brought separately from the buffet, which we really enjoyed. The gyro and the other meats were excellently cooked and seasoned, and the fries were crispy. We can easily recommend this restaurant!

Very large restaurant. The food was very good; so was the service. The head waiter accommodated all our requests. Our orders were taken and served promptly. We received two free ouzos with our meal. We have nothing to complain about and would gladly come back 😀

I went there for dinner with friends on August 16, 2025. We had reserved a table, which made sense, as the restaurant was busy at 5:30 p.m. We had a table on the outdoor terrace overlooking the North Sea. The owner greeted us warmly. Our waitress brought us our menus promptly. Our orders were also taken quickly. Drinks came with three ouzos. The meat platters are preceded by a salad from the buffet. The salad is fresh and offers a wide variety. The main courses and desserts were delicious, and the portions were plentiful. The prices are fair and reasonable. My only criticism is that different servers brought the drinks and dishes, and not the one who took our orders. Our appetizers were brought to the bottled water table. The children's dish arrived well before the appetizers. The plates seemed poorly presented. Conclusion: Very tasty food, lovely ambiance, and a pleasant atmosphere. We would gladly come again.

A huge place, great location, but simply too few staff. The tzatziki we ordered simply didn't arrive, and by the time we were almost finished, we didn't want it anymore. Overall, we had to wait a long time for drinks. The staff ranged from friendly and helpful to phlegmatic and arrogant. The food itself was delicious, a bit roasted, but well-seasoned and plentiful. The salad buffet was varied, delicious, and fresh.

The food was okay, the gyros were quite greasy and thickly sliced, not crispy. The bifteki had a very strong "roasted" flavor. The staff at the pickup counter were quite unfriendly. You can do it, but I've had much better Greek food in terms of taste.

The restaurant is almost always fully booked during peak season and at times overcrowded. The food: truly delicious starters outside the usual suspects, and the main courses are good. The service ranges from friendly to irritated, depending on the person, presumably due to the workload. Making reservations by phone is a complete disaster. During peak season, no one answers the phone; it's usually engaged or you can't get through. Please urgently improve this and offer reservations through a booking portal (OpenT., Google, or similar).

We were there in midsummer. It was very busy, but we still managed to get a table for a large group (17) (reserved). The food was excellent. Prices weren't overpriced. The staff were very, very friendly.

Delicious food, lovely beer garden – but please pay a little more attention to the plate. We were there on a Thursday evening – and it was packed. That speaks for itself. The restaurant has a modern feel, has a very nice beer garden, and even a few parking spaces on site (if you're lucky). The atmosphere was lively and pleasant. The food was very tasty overall: The gyro could have been grilled a little longer in some places, but that can happen in such a busy environment. The portions are absolutely sufficient, and the souvlaki, if I'm not mistaken, was even made from pork fillet grilled over an open flame – really good. What surprised me, however, was that there wasn't a single dollop of tzatziki with the main course. I've never experienced that in a Greek restaurant before. The plate came very plain, with no decoration, just meat and fries. Unfortunately, that seemed a bit lackluster and made me suspect that they'd rather sell the tzatziki as an extra. A shame – because everything tasted really great. Conclusion: Great restaurant with delicious food and a nice atmosphere – but a little more attention to plate presentation (and a small dollop of tzatziki) would make the experience perfect.

Yes! A very delicious restaurant with great, attentive service.

We've eaten there several times and were always completely satisfied. Whether it was the lamb, the souvlaki, or the bifteki, everything was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is completely full, especially during peak season, so reservations are highly recommended. But no matter how busy the place is, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The souvlaki, in particular, is really good and not completely overcooked, as is often the case at other Greek restaurants. The only criticisms I could find here are the presentation and the "regular" onions. I think red onions simply go better with this dish. All in all, though, it's still highly recommended and worth a visit anytime.

Don't order pasta under any circumstances, they don't taste good, the salad you can put together isn't that great, lots of brown spots and no good plates for it, there were cake plates, wine wasn't that great, overpriced at least the pasta, ouzo much too early, directly after ordering should in my opinion be served at the end, so after the meal, long wait until paying or for the table even though it was arranged in advance by phone, stood at the counter for a while and everything rushed around

My visit to El Greco was disappointing overall – for the following reasons: 🍽️ Food The food only arrived after waiting for over an hour – and was unfortunately cold. Particularly annoying: There was a hair in the salad, which is a clear sign of a lack of care in the kitchen. 🧑‍🍳 Service The service couldn't save the situation either. My friendly request for a concession (e.g., a discount, a substitute meal, or at least an apology) received no response. No explanation, no regrets, no concessions – that's disappointing and not very customer-oriented for a restaurant of this category. 📍 Conclusion Nice location and good reputation notwithstanding: If the food is cold, the hygiene is questionable, and the service doesn't respond to criticism, the end result is a very negative experience. I had hoped for more professionalism, more sense of responsibility and, above all, more hospitality.

Very busy during peak hours. Service was very friendly. Unfortunately, they don't know exactly what ingredients go into the dishes, so you have to be very careful if you have allergies. But otherwise, the food was good and the prices were perfectly reasonable for a tourist area.

The first impression was very good. Our order was taken quickly and politely. For the main course, you can go to the salad buffet. Unfortunately, the plates are very small and the vegetables are very coarsely chopped. This made chopping the ingredients difficult. Our dishes arrived very quickly. Our table next to us wasn't so lucky and had to wait about an hour for their food. They weren't even communicated with, despite asking several times. The food was delicious but also very salty, typical of Greek food. Would we go again? Yes. But the situation at the next table left a bad taste in our mouths.

This restaurant is not recommended at all. Guests are literally rushed off. Some of the food was served cold. The salad was old and dried out.

The food was generally good, but unfortunately, my bifteki was completely burnt and tasted accordingly. When I left it on my plate and the waiter asked if everything was okay, I pointed out the burnt meat – but there was no reaction. No apology, no offer, no feedback. The waiter simply walked away. When the bill came, I still left a 10% tip – not even a thank you. Overall, I got the impression that little emphasis is placed on customer service here. Perhaps they are used to tourists and don't expect to return. It's a shame, because with a little attention and hospitality, the visit might have been a positive memory despite the mishap.

After a long day and a hike in the mudflats, we arrived very late asking for a table for five. We were told that the kitchen would be closing soon, but we were greeted very warmly and quickly. A great spot outside with a fantastic view. Our orders were taken promptly. There was plenty of ouzo on the house. The salad buffet was extensive and delicious. All the dishes were served quickly and were truly delicious. We were completely satisfied. Our service was also excellent. Keep up the good work 👍🏻 We'd love to come back.

The staff was very friendly. The food was good. It could have been seasoned a bit better. Unfortunately, they forgot the house ouzo for us...but we didn't want to say anything. If you have to drive, there aren't enough parking spaces. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy.

This was our third time there, and this time we were disappointed. The appetizers didn't impress us. The peppers stuffed with feta cheese came from a can, the bread that came with it was simply dry, and since I had two appetizers instead of one main course, I wasn't allowed to get a salad from the buffet (even for an extra charge). Additionally, we missed some greenery in the dishes – at least a sprig of parsley as decoration or a lettuce leaf...

The El Greco is very clean inside. The service was very friendly. We arrived at the door before 5 p.m. Apparently, the manager came out and said they wouldn't open until 5:30. Since I have limited mobility, I asked if I could sit outside and wait, but was told no. The food for three people was great, but the fourth person's grilled chicken breast was pressed meat.

I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. I reserved a table for three people 14 days in advance. When we arrived, it was very warm and incredibly loud. The chairs and benches suggested what people had been eating for the past few years. We had to find "the table" 🫣 We were seated at a large table, and when the waiter came to "our" table, we were asked: how many people? When we said "just us," we were served very strangely. The waiter barely noticed us at all, and he kept talking to his colleagues in Greek. When we placed our order, we were told there was no fish today and we all wanted fish. Now we were pressured to quickly order something else! It was a kind of mass rejection, but the food came quickly and was good. Not like that again!

The ambience is very nice, the food very tasty, but unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for a bottle of water, despite ordering twice, which was a bit annoying!

We went there for the first time yesterday based on the good reviews. I'm very surprised by the good reviews. Inside, we felt like we were on vacation. A huge hall...tables packed close together and an endless line at the salad buffet. Our dishes were unseasoned, and the dressing was completely sparing. The salad bar was very small, and there was only one salad dressing. The waitress spoke unclearly, and the table was uncaring and dirty. No candles, tablecloths, or anything else. The view of the water was quite nice. Overall, though, we wouldn't come back.

We dined here today (June 12, 2025) as guests based on a recommendation. Since we made a reservation in advance, we didn't have to wait. The atmosphere is very cozy, in my opinion, and the restaurant has a large outdoor area. Some people even call it a beer garden. The food is good and deliciously prepared. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Please note, however, that tastes differ, and our impressions may not necessarily reflect those of other visitors. We would be happy to return.

The restaurant is usually full, and rightfully so. We didn't have a reservation, but we were promptly served and told we'd be seated in two minutes. During those two minutes, the manager asked us again if we'd been served yet. We were offered a glass of ouzo on the house. You help yourself to salad from the buffet. The ambiance is bright and friendly, but not typically Greek. The portions are generously sized, and the value for money is really good. The restaurant has many regulars.

The food was good. Nice view of the sea. We just felt that the interior lacked coziness. The interior is much too large for about 200 people, and the noise level is correspondingly loud. Prices are reasonable.

A very large restaurant that gets extremely busy on some days. If you plan to go during peak holiday season, be sure to make a reservation. The team gives their all and is well-organized, but the crowds can sometimes be overwhelming. However, the attentive and friendly junior chef keeps an eye on things and responds quickly. The food is outstanding, as is the location. A visit is definitely worth it!

A beautiful restaurant with views of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. The interior is very cozy, with large tables and comfortable seating in the form of benches and chairs. Unfortunately, the upholstery on the benches is quite dirty from dropped food or sauces. There's a well-stocked salad bar, and you can also sit outside on a spacious terrace. The service is very good, and nothing is lacking. The food itself was very tasty, even if it was simply placed on the plate without a small side salad or some tzatziki. The latter isn't available at the salad bar either. The prices are a bit high, but the surroundings and the tourist surcharge make up for that. All in all, we were very satisfied!

The salad was great. The grilled pepperoni appetizer was also delicious. The highlight was the baked gyro; I've never had such good gyro!
