The atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious, and the highlight was the service. We had my 7-year-old nephew with us, and the waiter was incredibly kind to him, saying "you're the best." He made a new friend! I would give it 6 stars if I could; everything was perfect.

The dining room is very large, but not too noisy. Some tables are separated by glass partitions. Service was good and fast, and the food arrived promptly. You can help yourself to the salad, which I think is great, but unfortunately, the selection is always the same for me, and the dressing is always the same as well. I would prefer a bit more variety.

Theoretically, it's a really great place. Unfortunately, it's quite unwise not to mention the closure on the website. Of course, I'm genuinely happy for the staff, as they do a fantastic job. It's just a shame when customers arrive to find the doors locked and confused. Please provide better information next time.

The food was good, the service was friendly, and the restaurant was lovely. There were many real plants on the windowsills and tables, which I personally found very nice. We got a table for two without a reservation, and with every main course, we could help ourselves to the salad bar, which had a very nice selection of salads.

This is the best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. Great food and drinks with a view of the North Sea. Prices may be higher, but you get good food. Definitely the top spot in Cuxhaven. We look forward to coming back here every now and then. Last time we went, we even stayed in the building where the Greek restaurant is. We just had to go downstairs and we were there. Perfect! In all these years, it has never gotten any worse; it's still consistently good. Even on our fall vacation in 2025. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

We've been coming to Duhnen regularly for short breaks for over eight years, and of course, the El Greco is always our first choice. The quality of the food has always been outstanding over the years, the service is great, and the location is first-class. You feel at home, the hospitality is first-class—even special requests are no problem. PS: The Ellermann Grauburgunger is highly recommended. :)

Located directly on the seafront, this restaurant is exactly what its name suggests: THE Greek. We eat Greek food frequently, so we have plenty to compare it to. Our visit to El Greco was incredibly good. The view of the sea (while it was still light), the quality of the meat was spot on, and the hospitality was outstanding. Sure, the place is large and it was packed, but the acoustics were surprisingly good. If you're looking for criticism, the fries could have been a bit crispier. Otherwise, our requests were met promptly. You should make a reservation. But it's worth it.

The food and salad buffet are good, and the ouzo is good. The only downside is that after three hours, guests change and you have to leave. It would have been nice if you had been told about this when making your reservation.

Unfortunately, the quality has declined compared to 2021. My main course was forgotten, and I ended up having to eat it alone. The portions have become very small. The starter was baked shrimp (unfortunately, they were cheap frozen shrimp that shrunk during preparation)... a casserole dish with lots of sauce, cheese, and 6!! shrimp. For that, it cost 11 euros. We're happy to spend money on good food, but I find this really excessive. The salad bar no longer has any special selection. What really deserves mention, though, and hence the three stars, is the quality of the meat. It's really well-made. Conclusion: you can do it, but you don't have to.

We go there regularly when we're in Cuxhaven. The food has been better, but it's still of a high standard!

The service staff was friendly, the food came quickly and was very tasty. You can take one salad from the buffet, but it's not a real experience. The salad lacks great flavor, the dressing has a cocktail flavor, but it doesn't really fit. For example, you sit on a white fabric-covered bench on one side, with chairs opposite... at the window, it's only that way, and your neighbor is so close that they can overhear the conversation. The benches are very dirty, so don't be too sensitive. In conclusion: The food is good, but the ambiance requires some blinders.

The best location for a restaurant in Duhnen, with a direct view of the mudflats. I discovered pasta with Metaxa sauce for the first time this weekend. Highly recommended, super delicious, and I haven't seen it at any Greek restaurant before. It can get very crowded and noisy in the evenings, but you can enjoy a nice, relaxed meal on a Saturday lunchtime, for example.

I had grilled pepperoni as a starter and gyros and souvlaki as a main course – both were delicious and I highly recommend them. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was served relatively quickly. Reservations are recommended.

It feels like a cafeteria. You rush in, eat quickly, and leave quickly again—because the tables are needed. You sit far too close to each other. Some of the food is served lukewarm. We remember it completely differently—a shame.

I ordered the same plate, No. 60 Irodion, within 7 days. (To go). I was so excited the first time that I decided to order the same plate again 7 days later. There's a world of difference between the first and second orders, both in terms of quality and quantity. If I'd experienced this level of service the first time, I would have declined a second order. I highly doubt I'll order from here again.

The restaurant is so large that you feel like you're in a food factory. The tables are very close together, with hardly any privacy. The worst thing is the stale air. The oxygen is getting increasingly scarce, like in a submarine. The food was okay, but the gyros are very greasy and not cross-country. It used to be better... and unfortunately, it's not cheap either, considering the circumstances.

The suvlaki was undercooked, and the ordered mayonnaise was forgotten with the fries. The second ouzo was unfortunately not chilled. The atmosphere is very good. I was there with my wife on August 23rd and wanted to have a nice dinner on our wedding anniversary, but unfortunately, the food arrived quickly but cold, and the gyro was very marbled, just like the souvlaki skewers, which I'm used to better quality. The other reviews didn't overpromise, and this is certainly one of the best Greek restaurants on the North Sea coast. The salad buffet, the simple bread with tzatziki, and the main courses (salmon and Greek platter) were all simply delicious. We will definitely be back.

We had one lamb chop and one lamb fillet, both of which were specifically ordered medium rare. Of the five chops, two were black on one side, and all were just dry and completely unseasoned. The lamb fillets were also completely dry, and neither of the dishes had even seen the salt shaker. Only the salad at the self-service buffet was okay. For us, it was pure mass production!

I went there for dinner with friends on August 16, 2025. We had reserved a table, which made sense, as the restaurant was busy at 5:30 p.m. We had a table on the outdoor terrace overlooking the North Sea. The owner greeted us warmly. Our waitress brought us our menus promptly. Our orders were also taken quickly. Drinks came with three ouzos. The meat platters are preceded by a salad from the buffet. The salad is fresh and offers a wide variety. The main courses and desserts were delicious, and the portions were plentiful. The prices are fair and reasonable. My only criticism is that different servers brought the drinks and dishes, and not the one who took our orders. Our appetizers were brought to the bottled water table. The children's dish arrived well before the appetizers. The plates seemed poorly presented. Conclusion: Very tasty food, lovely ambiance, and a pleasant atmosphere. We would gladly come again.

Overall, we had to wait a long time for drinks. The staff ranged from friendly and helpful to phlegmatic and arrogant. The food itself was delicious, a bit roasted, but well-seasoned and plentiful. The restaurant is almost always fully booked during peak season and at times overcrowded. The food: truly delicious starters outside the usual suspects, and the main courses are good. The service ranges from friendly to irritated, depending on the person, presumably due to the workload. Making reservations by phone is a complete disaster. During peak season, no one answers the phone; it's usually engaged or you can't get through. Please urgently improve this and offer reservations through a booking portal (OpenT., Google, or similar).

The restaurant has a modern feel, has a very nice beer garden, and even a few parking spaces on site (if you're lucky). The atmosphere was lively and pleasant. The food was very tasty overall: The gyro could have been grilled a little longer in some places, but that can happen in such a busy environment. The portions are absolutely sufficient, and the souvlaki, if I'm not mistaken, was even made from pork fillet grilled over an open flame – really good. What surprised me, however, was that there wasn't a single dollop of tzatziki with the main course. I've never experienced that in a Greek restaurant before. The plate came very plain, with no decoration, just meat and fries. Unfortunately, that seemed a bit lackluster and made me suspect that they'd rather sell the tzatziki as an extra. A shame – because everything tasted really great. Conclusion: Great restaurant with delicious food and a nice atmosphere – but a little more attention to plate presentation (and a small dollop of tzatziki) would make the experience perfect.

We've eaten there several times and were always completely satisfied. Whether it was the lamb, the souvlaki, or the bifteki, everything was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is completely full, especially during peak season, so reservations are highly recommended. But no matter how busy the place is, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. The souvlaki, in particular, is really good and not completely overcooked, as is often the case at other Greek restaurants. The only criticisms I could find here are the presentation and the "regular" onions. I think red onions simply go better with this dish. All in all, though, it's still highly recommended and worth a visit anytime.
