We had a delicious meal here; the moussaka, pasta, and bifteki are highly recommended. Vegetarians will also find plenty to eat here. A bit overpriced, but the location is beautiful and the service is friendly. Good value for money.

The staff was very friendly. The food was good. It could have been seasoned a bit better. Unfortunately, they forgot the house ouzo for us...but we didn't want to say anything. If you have to drive, there aren't enough parking spaces. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy.

This was our third time there, and this time we were disappointed. The appetizers didn't impress us. The peppers stuffed with feta cheese came from a can, the bread that came with it was simply dry, and since I had two appetizers instead of one main course, I wasn't allowed to get a salad from the buffet (even for an extra charge). Additionally, we missed some greenery in the dishes – at least a sprig of parsley as decoration or a lettuce leaf...

The El Greco is very clean inside. The service was very friendly. We arrived at the door before 5 p.m. Apparently, the manager came out and said they wouldn't open until 5:30. Since I have limited mobility, I asked if I could sit outside and wait, but was told no. The food for three people was great, but the fourth person's grilled chicken breast was pressed meat.

I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. I reserved a table for three people 14 days in advance. When we arrived, it was very warm and incredibly loud. The chairs and benches suggested what people had been eating for the past few years. We had to find "the table" 🫣 We were seated at a large table, and when the waiter came to "our" table, we were asked: how many people? When we said "just us," we were served very strangely. The waiter barely noticed us at all, and he kept talking to his colleagues in Greek. When we placed our order, we were told there was no fish today and we all wanted fish. Now we were pressured to quickly order something else! It was a kind of mass rejection, but the food came quickly and was good. Not like that again!

The ambience is very nice, the food very tasty, but unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for a bottle of water, despite ordering twice, which was a bit annoying!

Close to the beach, with plenty of seating inside and out. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was fast and friendly. Delicious food. We'd gladly return.

We went there for the first time yesterday based on the good reviews. I'm very surprised by the good reviews. Inside, we felt like we were on vacation. A huge hall...tables packed close together and an endless line at the salad buffet. Our dishes were unseasoned, and the dressing was completely sparing. The salad bar was very small, and there was only one salad dressing. The waitress spoke unclearly, and the table was uncaring and dirty. No candles, tablecloths, or anything else. The view of the water was quite nice. Overall, though, we wouldn't come back.

Everything was perfect here, from the service to the extensive menu and the appealing ambience.

We dined here today (June 12, 2025) as guests based on a recommendation. Since we made a reservation in advance, we didn't have to wait. The atmosphere is very cozy, in my opinion, and the restaurant has a large outdoor area. Some people even call it a beer garden. The food is good and deliciously prepared. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Please note, however, that tastes differ, and our impressions may not necessarily reflect those of other visitors. We would be happy to return.

The food was absolutely delicious. You could get two salads and there were two ouzos. Even though it was very busy, the service was excellent and quite quick. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, we only visited the restaurant twice in 14 days because we registered too late. But both meals were delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and prompt. The prices are perfectly reasonable. We're already looking forward to visiting El Greco more often when we return in September 2025.

The food was good. Nice view of the sea. We just felt that the interior lacked coziness. The interior is much too large for about 200 people, and the noise level is correspondingly loud. Prices are reasonable.

The food was delicious and more than plentiful. Even though the place was packed, the wait was reasonable. The meat was very juicy and tasty. Despite the busy schedule, the waiter was friendly and even entertained our grandson, putting a smile on his face. We'll definitely be back soon.

The restaurant is usually full, and rightfully so. We didn't have a reservation, but we were promptly served and told we'd be seated in two minutes. During those two minutes, the manager asked us again if we'd been served yet. We were offered a glass of ouzo on the house. You help yourself to salad from the buffet. The ambiance is bright and friendly, but not typically Greek. The portions are generously sized, and the value for money is really good. The restaurant has many regulars.

A very large restaurant that gets extremely busy on some days. If you plan to go during peak holiday season, be sure to make a reservation. The team gives their all and is well-organized, but the crowds can sometimes be overwhelming. However, the attentive and friendly junior chef keeps an eye on things and responds quickly. The food is outstanding, as is the location. A visit is definitely worth it!

A beautiful restaurant with views of the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. The interior is very cozy, with large tables and comfortable seating in the form of benches and chairs. Unfortunately, the upholstery on the benches is quite dirty from dropped food or sauces. There's a well-stocked salad bar, and you can also sit outside on a spacious terrace. The service is very good, and nothing is lacking. The food itself was very tasty, even if it was simply placed on the plate without a small side salad or some tzatziki. The latter isn't available at the salad bar either. The prices are a bit high, but the surroundings and the tourist surcharge make up for that. All in all, we were very satisfied!

We were here two days in a row, and we'll definitely be back for more during our vacation. The service is very friendly and fast, the food is delicious, and they serve ouzo right away. Although it's very busy, it's still not hectic.

The food tasted good, but unfortunately it arrived lukewarm. Service!! Rude and insulted because the tip was "ONLY" €2.80. No "Goodbye, not a nice evening." Stubbornly walked past us as we left the restaurant.

Great location near the Duhner Spitze mountain. Huge outdoor terrace. Typical German Greek food. Not spectacular, but OK. Very crowded in good weather. Definitely worth a visit.

We reserve a table every year on the day of our arrival. We always receive a very friendly welcome and are shown to our table. The food is incredibly delicious, and the staff is always very friendly. Therefore, it's always a pleasure and a treat for us. Everyone should try it. Best, Conny.

We ate there with my in-laws while on vacation. I thought the food was delicious. The restaurant is very comfortably furnished, and the view of the water is, of course, fantastic. The staff was very friendly, and the price/performance ratio was excellent.

This was our first time here and we were thrilled. Friendly and attentive staff, a good selection, and very tasty food. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the size of the place and the resulting noise level.

We did it again because we just can't resist. A fantastic Greek cuisine restaurant. It can be found on the beach side of the "SEEHÜTTE" at Wehrbergsweg 34 in CUX-DUHNEN. Even when the restaurant is full, the crew handles everything with aplomb. As soon as you have sat down (previous reservation is strongly recommended), the very friendly staff is there with the menu. The drinks arrive immediately afterwards and the entire table receives the food with very little waiting time. The wait staff works so closely together that it could make you dizzy. Even the “boss” gets involved everywhere and has an overview par excellence. The restaurant is also barrier-free. Thanks so much!

On a weekend with a bridge day, every table is occupied. But we were allowed to wait 15 minutes and then got a table. The food is incredibly delicious. Price performance couldn't be better. Thank you for the nice evening.

Even when there is a lot going on, the waiters are always attentive and friendly. There are no vegetarian main courses, but there is a great selection of vegetarian starters, so you can always put together something nice.

Very large restaurant with the usual offering of Greek cuisine. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service was excellent and the food was freshly grilled and tasty. You can get starters from the buffet to bridge the waiting time. The wine selection could be larger, but that didn't spoil the very positive impression. Reservations are recommended as the crowd is large. We can recommend El Greco.

I had already heard a lot of good things about El Greco, and recently it finally happened: a warm evening, the perfect occasion to go out for a good Greek meal again - and what can I say? I wasn't disappointed. On the contrary: It was like a short vacation on the Mediterranean, just in the middle of beautiful Cuxhaven, on Wehrbergsweg. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, almost familiar. The smell from the kitchen – a mixture of fresh garlic, grilled meat and Mediterranean herbs – immediately whets your appetite. It felt a bit like staying with friends. Except these friends are great at cooking. We decided on a mixed appetizer platter – homemade, fresh, incredibly aromatic. The dolmadakia and the tzatziki in particular were a poem. For the main course I chose the classic gyro plate - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with a touch of cinnamon and oregano - simply seasoned to perfection. My companion had grilled lamb fillet that was so tender that it literally melted in your mouth. Add a glass of retsina and the evening was complete. What particularly impressed me was the attention to detail. The food didn’t just come to the table “hot” – it came with a smile. The waitress always kept an eye on us without seeming intrusive. And as a little extra, we were offered an ouzo at the end - just the right note to end the evening. El Greco is not a place for hectic meals – it is a place to enjoy, arrive and linger. And anyone who believes that good Greek cuisine has to be heavy and greasy will be proven wrong here. Fresh, honest, authentic – that’s how I would describe it. My conclusion: If you are in Cuxhaven and long for sun, sea and Greek lifestyle - stop by El Greco. It's more than just a restaurant. It is a piece of Greece in the north. And I am sure: you will also want to come back.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed today. We are holiday guests in Duhnen and had ordered food to pick up. We were there last year and were very impressed, which is why we ordered something again this time. When we picked up the food and got home, we discovered that the food had been put in the box very carelessly. We ordered the souflaki twice and the meat was 70% raw. Once we had the dish gyros and the food was good. Nothing special but good. Unfortunately we threw away the rest.

Tolles Essen und toller Service.

Some time ago we reserved a table for a Monday and the reservation was confirmed. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed when we arrived and that's what the opening times said. It's a shame, the operator should have announced this beforehand. We weren't the only guests who found themselves standing in front of the locked door despite having a reservation.

Felt like a train station hall, loud and very crowded. The order could only be placed after 15 minutes. The positive reviews are probably due to the fact that there are no other Greeks nearby. Food was ok.

If you are in Duhnen for a longer period of time, you should definitely have El Greco on your list.
