Philosophy is definitely something different. Regardless, food doesn't become better just because it's made exorbitantly expensive.

Slow food, deep wines. When you walk in, it's hard to believe that the place has existed in this form for 10 years. The concept is more contemporary than ever and because it is not a concept but a philosophy, it brings with it a depth that is rarely found in dynamic evening life. Anyone who has time, curiosity and openness will be taken by the hand and in their arms by Silvia and Vanda and will go home with a lot of enthusiasm. Thank you both for a wonderful evening 🙏

The single best dining experience I’ve had in 15 years in Germany. Very personal service - I was part of a large group booking, but we talked directly and in depth about my dietary constraints and find alternatives that worked very well and were delicious. Everyone enjoyed the experience and the food and wine were delicious. Thoroughly recommended.

A unique place built on a love of the world, regional products, and natural wine. Wine is a different story. That's when you find yourself in a treasury. Wanda brings wine directly from winemakers and each has a story to tell. One keeps mini-sheep that “massage” the soil so that the grapes get more of the desired properties, the other does not even allow the use of mobile phones on the territory, so that no irregular waves disturb nature, and makes wine to the music. And this can be done ad infinitum. You can order a 4- or 5-course dinner for yourself and your company, or you can come for a tasting. It is necessary to book in advance. And at the latest in September - during the Christmas weeks. Otherwise you won't get there.

Ein kleines gemütliches Restaurant mit Wohnzimmeratmosphäre am Paul-Lincke Ufer. Die beiden Besitzerinnen haben sich dem Slow Food Konzept verschrieben und verarbeiten sorgfältig ausgewählte Lebensmittel welche weder industriell ver- noch bearbeitet wurden. Das 5-Gang-Menü bestand aus eher klassischen Gerichten der Gegenden Norditalien, Slowakei und Ungarn. Ein weiterer Fokus liegt auf dem breiten Sortiment an Naturweinen, die uns total abgeholt haben. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der hervorragende Service. Es wird sich viel Zeit genommen das Gesamtkonzept, die Geschichte der unterschiedlichen Gerichte und Informationen zu Zutaten und Zubereitung dem Gast nahe zu bringen; und das auf eine so persönliche Art und Weise dass man sich eher in die Wohnküche einer guten Freundin versetzt fühlt. Eine ganz wunderbare Erfahrung. Wir kommen wieder.

Etwas Besonderes. Tolles Essen und persönlicher Service mit viel Engagement. Raffinierte Rezepte, die aus der Region Österreich, Ungarn, Norditalien inspiriert sind. Zu Speisen und Zutaten und Weinen gibt es Geschichten über die Herkunft und Zubereitung (wenn man interessiert ist) und in jedem Schluck und Bissen schmeckt man die Qualität und handwerkliche Zubereitung. Wer sich etwas gönnen und genießen will, sollte hierher kommen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Ein kleines Lokal mit traditionellen Essen und guten Natur Weine. Das Lokal haben wir für eine Betriebsfeier genutzt und uns von den Damen verköstigen lassen. Immer wieder gerne.

Die Besitzerinnen sind große klasse und in Wohnzimmer-Atmosphäre bekommt man Essen aus verschiedensten Regionen, dies auch noch wunderschön serviert. Preislich vielleicht etwas zu hoch, jedoch eine absolute Empfehlung.

Ich fand die beiden Besitzerinnen sehr nett und zuvorkommend und auch das Essen war lecker. Aber die ganze Erfahrung rechtfertigt (zumindest in meinen Augen) den sehr hohen Preis nicht. Die Portionen sind klein und mir erschließt sich nicht, warum sie so teuer sind. Eine Portion Kartoffelsalat mit gebratenen Stangenbohnen für 10€. Es gibt keine Karte oder wenigstens eine Tafel mit Informationen - man muss sich die 6 Gänge (nach der Ansprache) merken oder ständig noch einmal nachfragen. Auch die Preise von Essen und Wein bleiben bis zum Schluss ein Geheimnis, wenn man nicht explizit nachfragt. Ich hätte mir ein bisschen mehr Transparenz oder Übersichtlichkeit gewünscht. Auch wurde ich gebeten, das benutzte Besteck nach dem Gang zu behalten, wenn ich noch weitere Gänge essen möchte. Ja, das ist ist vielleicht nachhaltig, aber in dem Preissegment kann man vielleicht auch einfach neues sauberes Besteck zu einem neuen Gang reichen. Die Einrichtung in dem Keller empfand ich als eher kühl und ungemütlich. Und guten Naturwein kriegt man in anderen Weinbars in Berlin auch für einen faireren Preis. Die Bedienung ist top. Vielleicht habe ich es auch nicht verstanden...

Wirklich absolut empfehlenswert! Wir haben dort unsere kleine Familien-Hochzeit gefeiert. Ausgesprochen nette und fachkundige Frauen, die das Restaurant leiten und auch auf individuelle Wünsche eingehen. Das Essen war unfassbar lecker. Ich träume immer noch davon.

It is expensive but there is nothing wrong about it. BUT positioning yourself in such a high price segment requires way more better food and wine selection. The meals were nice but not for the price. When it comes to the wines - some of them were not drinkable but maybe this is my taste. The owners were extremely kind and they prepared and served the food with love.

(noch) ein Geheimtipp. Ein Restaurant mit einer großartig exklusiven und ausgewogenen Naturwein Karte und authentischer Küche in angenehm stillvoll in schlichtem Holz gehaltenem Interieur. Das Restaurant ist zentral gelegen in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße mitten in Kreuzberg mit gemütlicher Außenbestuhlung. Auf den Teller kommen schmackhafte ausgewählte Rohstoffe und ins Glas werden feinste Naturweine von ausgewählten Winzern gefüllt. Zu den meisten Winzern besteht wohl ein persönlicher Kontakt, sodass man zu jedem Wein (falls man möchte) auch sehr viel über Lage, Reifung, Produktion und Geschmack uvm. erfahren kann. Die beiden Damen sind mehr als bemüht und herzlich im Service. Rundum gute Atmosphäre und leckeres Essen und Wein. Vorab reservieren und unbedingt ausprobieren!

Best slow food restaurant in the city!!!

I booked an event for 12 people, including drinks. The venue came highly recommended. I was unsatisfied and gave feedback about my experience. The owners never got back to me. About my experience: The menu was basic and uninspired, which came as a surprise, because the photos suggest uniqueness and Eastern European and Central European cuisine. It was not even remotely Eastern European. Additionally, the portions were on the small side. The venue itself is cute. The owners are nice. I suggest making sure what is being served, that is discuss the menu up front in detail when booking an event, and don't do it the easy way like I did.

Interessanter Ansatz für ein Restaurant, aber mit einigen Macken. Schon beim Betreten der Souterrain-Räumlichkeiten hatte man das Gefühl, nicht unbedingt willkommen zu sein. Das mag an der steilen Treppenstiege, dem kaum mannshohen Eingang oder auch schlicht der unterkühlten Begrüßung der beiden Damen bzw. dem recht straight-kahlen Ambiente liegen. Bei einer Atmosphäre wie in einer karg ausgestatteten Wohnküche kommt nicht so rechtes Behagen auf; aber gut: das mag auch Geschmackssache sein. Das sogenannte live-Kochen fiel aus; es beschränkte sich im Wesentlichen auf ein gelegentliches Umrühren der vorbereiteten Gänge. Großen Wert legte man auf eine gerade noch erträglich lange Einführung zu den Quellen der Zutaten, insbesondere zu den Weinen. Das Essen war letztendlich gut, aber auch recht nüchtern dargeboten; nicht unbedingt das, was man für den Preis (35€ für das 3-Gänge-Menü) erwartet hätte. Der Naturwein wurde zwar groß angepriesen, aber man hielt es wohl für nicht notwendig, eine Preisliste vorzulegen. Über den Geschmack des Weines kann ich als Nichtkenner der Materie nichts sagen, nur über den Preis: 8€ für ein Glas, die Flaschen lagen zwischen 42 und 48€. Das Dessert war lecker, aber auch dem Preis nicht angemessen. Resumé: für denjenigen, der die moderne Nüchternheit sowohl beim Essen als auch beim Ambiente mag und dem auch überzogene Preise fürs Essen (beim Wein halte ich mich raus) egal sind, der ist hier gut aufgehoben. Leute mit anderen Erwartungen sollten sich nach einer Alternative umschauen. Nachtrag: das war unsere Weihnachtsfeier, bei der ich mir doch eine etwas stilvollere Atmosphäre gewünscht hätte. Ich mag ja in meinem Alter (60+) etwas altmodisch sein, aber eine Kerze und ein Tannenzweig wären sicherlich nicht zuviel gewesen.

Leckeres Essen und nette Atmosphäre. Die zwei Damen haben sich gut um uns gekümmert. Beim Wein hätte ich mir eine stärkere Empfehlung gewünscht was gut zum Essen passt.

Il mio giudizio non valuta - ahimè - la qualità del cibo o l'accoglienza della sala ma l'autentica inciviltà del servizio. Ho appena telefonato perchè volevo - udite udite - riservare l'intera sala per una cena aziendale ma quando ho chiesto (in tedesco) se fosse possibile comunicare in lingua inglese o italiana la persona che mi ha risposto ha risposto con un secco Nein! e un gorgogliante Tschuuuuuss. E ha messo giù mentre io parlavo (e stavo per l'appunto scusandomi che non essendo il mio tedesco perfetto, il resto della conversazione avrebbe potuto non essere di gran livello). Senza parole.

En mi reciente viaje a Berlín, paseando por las calles nocturnas de Kreuzberg, me encontré con esta curiosa joya de un restaurante. Las acogedoras luces de las velas en las escaleras me atrajeron a un interior inesperado, zen y actualizado, a diferencia de cualquier cosa en su vecindad donde el orgullo radica en actitudes de "descuidado" / "no podría importarnos menos" - Aquí el ambiente es ligero, limpio y suave. Una vez, una de sus damas, mecenas, me intrigó aún más y me explicó con paciencia que me tropecé con un restaurante "Mittel - europeo" de comida lenta - una comida fija de 3 platos por noche acompañada de vinos orgánicos de la región CEE. En mi noche particular, los entremeses se inspiraron en Trieste - región de Eslovenia, plato principal con cocina moderna húngara y un postre un pastel eslovaco nunca antes probado. ¡Todo delicioso pero desconocido para mí, aunque he pasado los últimos 15 años viviendo en Praga! Y un gran cambio en mi visita típica a Berlín cuando sigo probando varias "otras" cocinas pero encontré principalmente a los "sospechosos habituales" de las principales capitales europeas: ¡Asia y el Mediterráneo! El patrón que organiza los asientos recurre al asesor de vinos y cada plato fue acompañado por un consejo para probar un vino adecuado: ¡Eslovenia, Moravia y Eslovaquia! Desearía haber tomado notas de los nombres y las uvas. . . Lo que recuerdo es la impresión general: no se cometieron errores. Al final de eso, toda la dama orher - patrón - el chef - sale de la cocina y se une a los invitados (casa llena en mi noche, supongo que tuve suerte, ya que parece que se recomiendan reservas) y se une para hablar con los invitados . Resulta que este es un proyecto multianual apasionado de las damas cuyos antecedentes profesionales se encuentran en las industrias del cine y la música. . . y la música que había: como muchos lugares en Berlín, obtienes una "banda sonora" a su experiencia para llevar en sus recuerdos! ¡Toma ese lugar sin embargo! Platz Doch! ¿Yo? ¡Regresa pronto!

Nos recibieron calurosamente nuestros anfitriones Vanda y Silvia, los dueños del restaurante. Dan mucho pensamiento, corazón y alma al elegir su producto. Por sus ingredientes van personalmente a las granjas y productores para comprarlos. Nos presentaron un vino de naranja encantador! La comida, el ambiente, el servicio y los vinos fueron fantásticos! ¡Gracias por esta encantadora experiencia!

Vinimos a cenar a platz doch esperando un pequeño restaurante local solo para estar sentado en un espacio moderno, cálido, íntimo e inusual. Hay una larga mesa directamente fuera de la cocina donde te sientas. Fuimos un viernes por la noche y terminamos siendo solo nosotros dos, junto con Vanda y Silvia, los propietarios / cocineros / sumilleres. Hay un menú fijo de tres platos. Comenzamos la noche con una sopa de pepino hogareña pero hermosamente presentada, seguida por el plato tradicional con productos locales. Las verduras eran frescas, todo estaba increíblemente bien preparado acompañado de algunos vinos excepcionales de Eslovaquia. El vino era tan delicioso que compré uno en ese momento. La noche fue especialmente memorable como Vanda y Silvia, donde azafatas tan grandes y encantadoras. Volveremos de nuevo.

Das Lokal hat echt Potential mein neues Lieblingslokal zu werden. Das Essen war nicht das Alleinige, welches in diesem Gasthaus für große Augen sorgt! Ich probiere echt enorm gerne neue Lokale aus und bin ständig auf der Ermittlung nach neuen Lokalen, aber diesem Restaurant werde ich treu bleiben. Die Bedienungen sind jedes Mal überaus sympathisch und überaus zuvorkommend. Das macht uns bei jedem Besuch vollends viel Wohlgefallen. Die Sesseln sind sehr bequem und den Abstand zwischen den Plätzen finde ich äußerst vertretbar. Dort bekommt man absolut nicht das Gefühl, wie Gurken in der Dose Abend zu essen.

My wife and I had amazing experience at platz doch! It a unique place where you feel yourself like at your good old friend. Great selection of artisan wines and good food. Definitely coming back!

Ripped off, food was bland and boring. Local wines were flat. Had iceberg lettuce and cucumber as a starter. Nothing else. Should have left after first course. We paid over Euro 50 per person. Will never go back. Sorry.

We thought we try something different a trip advisor ratings were encouraging .. but the warning signs were there.. verbal menu with almost no choice ..3 courses were presented a salad ( just butter lettuce with a few slices of cucumber and a dressing); followed by stodgy potato dumplings (edible but bland) and a strawberry gelato... a couple of glasses of organic “pretty ordinary wine” and a bill of over €50 a head. Only good thing was we will laugh about the experience for years to come but be warned!

Essen gut, aber zu teuer für das Gebotene.

War erst einmal dort und es hat mir gut gefallen und geschmeckt. Ich denke da gehe ich bestimmt nochmal Essen.Toller Service, nettes Team. Einziges Manko, eine seht steile Treppe, nicht unbedingt für ältere Personen geeignet.

An excellent, welcoming experience with great food and exceptional wines. All ingredients are carefully selected, so are the wines. Not to be missed, this is truly unique.

Denne restaurant MÅ opleves - alt er fantastisk, og intet er overladt til tilfældigheder. Menuen, som består af tre retter, tager afsæt i det centraleuropæiske køkken og er tydeligvis nøje afstemt. Maden er vel-tilberedt af lækre, friske råvarer, og der er et rigt udvalg af naturvine at nyde til. Der følger en interessant beskrivelse med introduktionen til både mad og vine. De to ejere af stedet er særdeles imødekommende, og man befinder sig rigtig godt i den gode atmosfære og det fine lokale.

Schön. Wirklich. Das ist's. Mehr muss man gsr nicht sagen. Es ist einfach schön. Die beiden Damen unsagbar herzlich und, meine Güte wissen die viel über Wein! Erklären und erzählen auf eine Art, dass man einfach nicht mehr gehen will und dazu kochen sie auch noch übwrragend. Ich will es har nicht übertreiben, denn hier ist es zu ruhig und gemütlich und angenehm, als dass man ewig reden sollte. Gemütlich, und ein absoluter Traum für schöne Abend im mittelkleinen Kreis.

that was really good experience!!! short side street in Xberg, Berlin - my favourite quarter there. we havn't been specialy very hungry, but there was taste on something nice and small to eat. first of all: the place was pretty nice small inside, you can really feel like you're at friends home almost in the kitchen. I like that fakt a LOT. sometimes you come to visit bistro like Platz Doch! is and you just don't feel nothing. but this is really not about that place. the food is based on local sources. we had a fresh dill souce with fantasticly grilled sousage with freshly made salad. and fantastic home made ice cream (we doubled ice cream, 'cause we all scream for ice cream). they also have pretty nice range of beautiful "live" ( :-) ) wines (mostly central european production). if you stay (or are) in Berlin and hang around Kreuzberg, go to see the girls in Platz Doch! a enjoy the food and their hospitality and company! you're about to have good times! it's worth of!

Been to Platz Doch a few weeks ago and had a wonderful time with my friends! Food and wine was delicious, the place looks nice but not pretentious. But the best thing are the two great girls who run the place, Silvia and Vanda - they prepare the food in front of you and tell you all about it. Definitely coming back since they chance the menu every week (!). Enjoy guys!

My wife and I hosted our rehearsal dinner at platz doch! and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal, paired with unique and tasty wines. We had 19 people and it was the perfect size (though that was definitely max capacity). platz doch! is absolutely perfect for a memorable dinner party for something like a birthday party, office celebration, or in our case a rehearsal dinner.

What a lovely, unforgettable and one of a kind experience we had! A summer-apt and elegant array of fresh and cooked cheeses, dried paprika salami and tomato and paprika relishes, a bread baked with pork scratchings; corn-fed chicken paired with mint and peas. All eaten with some stunning natural wines from Moravia (an “orange” pinot; and a blaufrankisch). Dessert was a sublime rhubarb and strawberry granita, and as a digestive the most multi-dimensional, sublime (apricot) schnapps that has ever passed our lips… [if only to recall the name!]. It is clear Vanda and Sophie put a great deal of attention in crafting and composing their dishes accompanied by carefully chosen wines from central europe from small producers. It's really a lovely experience, the wine may clock up the bill, but where else in Berlin will you have access to such a unique journey of wine and hidden corners of central european gastronomies?

The food was delicious. One thing on the menu, local ingredients. The dishes were interesting but in a wholesome and hearty way, not an experimental and showing off way. Lots of attention to detail; the salad dressing had me pausing to appreciate it. We asked for a recommended glass of wine with each course and each one was delicious and distinctive, for each one we got to hear the story about the small-scale producer behind it and their concept in creating that wine. The space was unlike any restaurant I've been to. A big social table in the middle, a smaller table at the side, with the kitchen integrated into the room, the food cooking as you chat. It felt like sitting in the kitchen dining room of some good friends. We felt very welcomed by the two women who own and run the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, open and informal, but never boundariless or in your face. We talked with them for quite a while about the concept behind the place as we found it so intriguing. It felt as if every aspect of the restaurant: the location, menu, wine list, layout, (even the toilets) had been put together with love, care and attention. We were at one of Berlin's great Michelin starred restaurants a few days earlier, and Platz Doch touched us much more. It would be great if more restaurants were like this.

amazing food, wine, atmosphere......i recommend this place to anyone who appreciates those three things in harmony. im not even a big wine drinker....but that was some of the best wine ive had in my life....(specifically 1 bottle from the Czech Republic and 1 bottle from Slovakia) the knowledgeable two owners (vanda and silvia), not only cook the food for you right in front of you (open kitchen) they make sure that your experience there is unforgettable....they will tell you exactly where the wine comes from, who makes it, what the process was like, etc.... GO THERE! you will not regret it! :-D

The atmosphere is nice and charming, but we must have stumbled in on the wrong night - 1 year anniversary -. Advertised was a 30 euro all inclusive food + wine tasting (50cl ). The food: one appetizer & one entree, both humble and at...

An evening at Platz Doch! is an evening at friends. You are not sitting in a restaurant, somewhere in the back - kitchen noises - , waitresses running around, people come and go - no, you are invited and make yourself comfortable on the kitchen...
