Review based on 1 visit (but planning for more). This pizzeria could be as well one you visit in Italy. The people, the mess, the good pizza, the focus on good food before fancy location, furniture, or exotic ingredients. Eating here is like going back when I was still in Italy.

It's like pike soup when you sit inside and the cutlery ("served" in earthenware jugs) wasn't clean. Menu in crumpled cling film. There was only pizza this Monday. The pizza tasted okay, but a few hours later I found myself hanging over the toilet at home with a fever of 39 degrees. So I can't recommend it... or to put it bluntly: never again.

I come here often with my parents. It's just really good. Very polite staff and the best pizza in town.

For me, definitely the best pizza in town. They say it is not the original Italian pizza from Naples, but rather a Germanized one, so to speak. It is thin and crispy and has Gouda as a topping and no mozzarella. But you can order extra mozzarella. As I said, it's Germanized, but compared to the sister restaurant on Moltkestrasse, it's actually much better here - the atmosphere inside isn't that sparkling, so it's not ideal for a long, cozy evening. As soon as the weather gets warmer, there is a small terrace and you can sit there.

Our family has been going to Pizzeria Romantica for years – and that says it all. Although we have to drive around 30 to 40 kilometers to Düsseldorf, it is worth the drive every time. The pizza is simply a dream: huge, crispy, excellent toppings and really top quality. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, and in our opinion the taste is one of the best ever. The restaurant itself is cozy, not too big, but not too small either. The outdoor area is a nice place to relax, especially in summer. Unfortunately, parking spaces are a matter of luck, but we're happy to accept that. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. Prices have risen slightly in recent years, but this is completely understandable - the quality has remained consistently high. Many guests also get the pizza to take away. It is a traditional family pizzeria that is run with a lot of heart. If you are looking for really good pizza in Düsseldorf, you should definitely stop by here. Absolute recommendation!

Best pizza in Düsseldorf! I don't know how many pizzas I've eaten in my life or how many different restaurants there were, but there are well over 40! Let's start: Stopped by spontaneously because I had heard a lot about this pizzeria and asked if a table for 1 person was available. I was lucky because everything else was always fully booked (said the waiter). The service was super friendly and attentive! I ordered a Tuno pizza and was thrilled when this huge “thing” appeared on the table!! In terms of taste? Absolute opponent!!!!!!! Anyone who likes to eat pizza MUST have eaten here once and form their own opinion about it, it would be a shame that you missed out on such a delicious pizza in this life!!! 10 stars for the pizza! The ambience and furnishings outside are relatively old and shaky (nothing special, not a wonderful ambience but bearable). I didn't see inside but it will definitely be my new regular pizzeria! 0.2 cola + HUGE pizza €14.50 = more than OKAY!

I can only recommend Pizzeria Romantica. This is a true Italian run shop. When you see the pizza, your first thought is: "Oh man, how do you want that to come out?" & the second is: "Wow, it looks fantastic.". The pizzas are a considerable size and have an outstanding taste. If you like original Italian pizza, then you've come to the right place. The staff is also very friendly and you feel comfortable. The best pizzeria in all of North Rhine-Westphalia I've been almost everywhere and eaten tiramisu and pizza, but nowhere else can you find pizza, tiramisu, lasagna, or other dishes as delicious as at Romantica. The staff and the chef, Salvadore, are very friendly and generous. Be sure to try the pizza parmigiana!

The pizza dough wasn't good – probably because it wasn't allowed to rest long enough – but unfortunately it was hard, compact, and difficult to cut. I'll try it again soon and report back.

Unfortunately my visit to this restaurant was disappointing. Right from the start, my table was wiped with a cloth that smelled very unpleasant. not a good first impression. The wait for my pizza was a whole hour, and ordering drinks was also slow. The pizza itself tasted okay, the dough was really good. However, I have the impression that the ingredients in the branch on Moltkestrasse are of higher quality. After dinner I ordered an espresso, but it never arrived. After 20 minutes of waiting, I finally decided to leave. Payment had to be made at the cash desk at the entrance, and only in cash. Based on my experience, I didn't tip and expressed my dissatisfaction. There was no farewell from the staff. Overall, the service was poor and I would not recommend the restaurant in this form.

We went to Romantica for the first time with my husband last Wednesday (January 29, 2025) and were very satisfied😋🍕 Since we didn't want to order 2 pizzas, we shared a large one with margherita and tuna. The pizza was very large and enough for 2 people. You probably won't get this size anywhere else for the price. The dough was nice and crispy and thin. Tuna and cheese were also spread well so you had some on every slice. We had to wait about 10 minutes for our order, which is completely ok. But I can't say what it's like on weekends since we were there during the week. We were also asked directly whether we had reserved. Maybe you should do this on weekends, especially if you want to go with a large group. The atmosphere was ok, like a pizzeria. But I think it could be redesigned a bit. I can't say anything about the toilets because we didn't use them (I don't know if there are toilets either).

For me it's still an insider tip in Düsseldorf, the pizza is and remains one of the best far and wide! I can also warmly recommend the pasta with tuna capers! The inside of the shop is rather rustic and the service has its ups and downs on some days, but the quality and the food itself take it all out! That's why we're always happy to come back or pick up the things!

Zuerst: Die Pasta war wirklich lecker und das Ambiente hat sehr italienisches Flair und wirkt sehr urig. Allerdings ist es nicht grade ruhig. Wir wurden direkt neben die Küche gesetzt und es herrschte immer ein Hin- und Her zwischen Küche und Tresen wofür man an unserem Tisch vorbei musste. Die Tische sind parallel so eng nebeneinander gestellt dass man ohne Probleme die Gespräche am Nebentisch mitbekommt. Andersherum natürlich dann auch. Es wirkte generell alles stressig. Wir waren zwar zu einer späteren Abendszeit dort bei der viele Bestellungen aufgegeben wurde allerdings kann man das auch anders handeln. Kurz: Essen top, Stimmung flop. [Kartenzahlung ist NICHT möglich]

Whether it’s pasta or pizza – everything tastes incredibly delicious. The quality of the food and the preparation convinced me 100%. A great choice for anyone who loves good food. Ordered to take away on site. When we came back after 10 minutes, they completely forgot our order and we had to wait at least another 10 minutes. Pizza was also half burnt and varied in thickness. There are clearly better pizzas in Düsseldorf. I wouldn't buy again.

It was part of our gang's tradition to come here, even though we knew that the service wasn't exactly good. Unfortunately this time it wasn't even full and we had to wait 20 minutes for the order to be taken and then another hour for the food to arrive. Unfortunately we will probably break our tradition

If you want to eat here in a nice atmosphere, you've come to the wrong place. Tables poorly stuck together with scotch tape, where you constantly get stuck with your sweater, and a double-sided copied menu in black and white stuffed into normal cling film. Payment in cash only. Tables are squeezed together so you can hardly move. We were only asked once at the beginning what we wanted to drink, there was no further service. If the pizza hadn't been so big and tasty I would have only given it 1 star. If you want a nice atmosphere you should order take away.

I was very dissatisfied with the service at this restaurant. The waiter who served us seemed to fundamentally dislike people and the entire service industry. We came with our children and we were sat at a dirty table and told to wait two minutes. After about ten minutes of waiting, I apologized and said we wanted to order. I was then rudely told to wait. Meanwhile, another guest arrived and his order was taken immediately and served to him before us. Our food was then ordered and to be honest the wait wasn't very long. However, for four people we were only brought two plates and two pizzas, one of which was burnt. When I asked again for two more plates, one of them was covered in coffee stains. We were really surprised and couldn't believe this was happening in a cafe. The pizza was mediocre and we didn't eat the burnt pieces or exchange them because we were hungry and so were our children. I give one star for the good glass of wine, but I definitely won't come back. In my opinion, staff who seem to hate their guests shouldn't work in the restaurant industry...

I'm Italian and I can tell that the food here is amazing!!!! I felt like in Italy! Moreover, the service has been amazing too and the people working here are really nice. If you go you have to try the "Tiramisù", it was the best Tiramisù I have ever had in my life.

Excellent quality authentic Italian pizza in a lively, casual setting at a very reasonable price! Two pizzas and four soft drinks for 34€ were more than enough to satisfy our family of two adults and two teens. While we had only pizza ourselves, we saw that other tables were being brought huge pasta dishes. We were seated right away despite arriving at what seemed to be the busiest time on a Sunday evening, at around 6 pm. Cash only, but they were nice enough to take our US dollars when we were short on euros.

With so many reviews you don't really need to add anything more, but clearly two things, the amazing size of the pizzas and the great fresh preparation, great value for money, and above all the possibility of having the rest that you can hardly manage to be able to take home. The service has adapted to the Italian serenity. It must be a good sign when a small group of older Italian gentlemen sometimes enjoy the evening there for hours.

Pizza ingredients were really good. We ordered the 4 formaggi and the Cittadina. Thin crust pizza, it was a bit burnt from the sides but all good. It’s a small restaurant and it was busy when we got there, but we got a table pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. Pizza is very bready. I understand that Italians cook this way, but here it is just made hastily and some pieces just have bare dough. The staff makes you wait by setting 15-20 minutes to arrive, but then they just start preparing your order when you're there. When you wait twice as long they don't even mention that it's taking longer and you can leave and come back in 15 minutes, it feels like they're ignoring you

I really enjoy eating here because the taste of the food is reminiscent of Italy. The owner shows a lot of empathy, and since my mother uses a walker, it's not easy in every restaurant. It was one of the best and tastiest pizzas I tried in Germany, especially considering the price. Unfortunately the waiter's behavior was not good at all. It was our first time here. We stood in line like everyone else to go in and order. When it was our turn, we were told that they only do take-out orders. Everything was fine up to this point and we were simply standing in the wrong line. But when we wanted to choose a table, one of the waiters (who seemed more like the owner of the shop) very rudely pointed out that in the restaurant you are usually served at a table and given a menu - which is usual. We didn't say anything about it and sat down at a table. He took our order. It took 35 minutes for our food (two pizzas and one spaghetti) to be ready. To pay we approached the same gentleman and said we wanted to pay and needed a pack for the rest of the pizza. He quickly brought a package, but not the bill. After 10 minutes we pointed it out to him again. This time he said we had to pay at the front exit. The question is why he didn't say that right away when he brought the package. Besides, if you sit down in a restaurant and then order, it's common practice for the bill to be brought to the table instead of telling you to go to the exit to pay. Overall, this waiter's behavior was very unpleasant. We had no further discussions with the other employees. Another problem was the cleanliness of the restaurant. The floor was old and didn't seem to have been renovated in a long time. The walls were messily decorated. There was no proper ventilation. The chairs were old and no longer comfortable.

After a long time I gave Romantica another chance, but for me this pizzeria is far from the “best pizza” in Düsseldorf. Firstly, the service is very peculiar and takes some getting used to. He seems very restless, unfriendly and chaotic. The salad was okay (grade 4). The pizza, whose main product was no more than a grade 4, was baked totally carelessly and had little taste and harmony. I also told the boss my concern because I didn't eat 3/4 of the pizza. His answer was: “Everything is fresh here”! Might be; that I was unlucky again, but I won't go to this restaurant again for two reasons: the owner and operator's own style and the pizza is not up to my standards. There are much better ones in Düsseldorf.

Big size pizza for the price and tasty as well but unfortunately their service isn’t the best we had an interaction with two of the staff one was friendly and the other one was totally the opposite. The food came relatively fast though the place was full.
