Pizzeria Romantica in Düsseldorf

If you want to eat here in a nice atmosphere, you've come to the wrong place. Tables poorly stuck together with scotch tape, where you constantly get stuck with your sweater, and a double-sided copied menu in black and white stuffed into normal cling film. Payment in cash only. Tables are squeezed together so you can hardly move. We were only asked once at the beginning what we wanted to drink, there was no further service. If the pizza hadn't been so big and tasty I would have only given it 1 star. If you want a nice atmosphere you should order take away.

I was very dissatisfied with the service at this restaurant. The waiter who served us seemed to fundamentally dislike people and the entire service industry. We came with our children and we were sat at a dirty table and told to wait two minutes. After about ten minutes of waiting, I apologized and said we wanted to order. I was then rudely told to wait. Meanwhile, another guest arrived and his order was taken immediately and served to him before us. Our food was then ordered and to be honest the wait wasn't very long. However, for four people we were only brought two plates and two pizzas, one of which was burnt. When I asked again for two more plates, one of them was covered in coffee stains. We were really surprised and couldn't believe this was happening in a cafe. The pizza was mediocre and we didn't eat the burnt pieces or exchange them because we were hungry and so were our children. I give one star for the good glass of wine, but I definitely won't come back. In my opinion, staff who seem to hate their guests shouldn't work in the restaurant industry...

I'm Italian and I can tell that the food here is amazing!!!! I felt like in Italy! Moreover, the service has been amazing too and the people working here are really nice. If you go you have to try the "Tiramisù", it was the best Tiramisù I have ever had in my life.

Excellent quality authentic Italian pizza in a lively, casual setting at a very reasonable price! Two pizzas and four soft drinks for 34€ were more than enough to satisfy our family of two adults and two teens. While we had only pizza ourselves, we saw that other tables were being brought huge pasta dishes. We were seated right away despite arriving at what seemed to be the busiest time on a Sunday evening, at around 6 pm. Cash only, but they were nice enough to take our US dollars when we were short on euros.

The pizza is huge, tastes good but halfway through it became a bit tiring to eat because it got a bit sticky.

With so many reviews you don't really need to add anything more, but clearly two things, the amazing size of the pizzas and the great fresh preparation, great value for money, and above all the possibility of having the rest that you can hardly manage to be able to take home. The service has adapted to the Italian serenity. It must be a good sign when a small group of older Italian gentlemen sometimes enjoy the evening there for hours.

It's a simple Italian trattoria with one of the best pizzas anywhere. Tasty, juicy, well topped and a good price-performance ratio. All other dishes are also of very good quality! Service is always very friendly! Authentically Italian!

Pizza ingredients were really good. We ordered the 4 formaggi and the Cittadina. Thin crust pizza, it was a bit burnt from the sides but all good. It’s a small restaurant and it was busy when we got there, but we got a table pretty quickly.

We were there straight away this evening and got a table straight away without any problems. In addition, the price-performance ratio for this service and the food is simply perfect. One of the best in Düsseldorf.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. Pizza is very bready. I understand that Italians cook this way, but here it is just made hastily and some pieces just have bare dough. The staff makes you wait by setting 15-20 minutes to arrive, but then they just start preparing your order when you're there. When you wait twice as long they don't even mention that it's taking longer and you can leave and come back in 15 minutes, it feels like they're ignoring you

I really enjoy eating here because the taste of the food is reminiscent of Italy. The owner shows a lot of empathy, and since my mother uses a walker, it's not easy in every restaurant. It was one of the best and tastiest pizzas I tried in Germany, especially considering the price. Unfortunately the waiter's behavior was not good at all. It was our first time here. We stood in line like everyone else to go in and order. When it was our turn, we were told that they only do take-out orders. Everything was fine up to this point and we were simply standing in the wrong line. But when we wanted to choose a table, one of the waiters (who seemed more like the owner of the shop) very rudely pointed out that in the restaurant you are usually served at a table and given a menu - which is usual. We didn't say anything about it and sat down at a table. He took our order. It took 35 minutes for our food (two pizzas and one spaghetti) to be ready. To pay we approached the same gentleman and said we wanted to pay and needed a pack for the rest of the pizza. He quickly brought a package, but not the bill. After 10 minutes we pointed it out to him again. This time he said we had to pay at the front exit. The question is why he didn't say that right away when he brought the package. Besides, if you sit down in a restaurant and then order, it's common practice for the bill to be brought to the table instead of telling you to go to the exit to pay. Overall, this waiter's behavior was very unpleasant. We had no further discussions with the other employees. Another problem was the cleanliness of the restaurant. The floor was old and didn't seem to have been renovated in a long time. The walls were messily decorated. There was no proper ventilation. The chairs were old and no longer comfortable.

After a long time I gave Romantica another chance, but for me this pizzeria is far from the “best pizza” in Düsseldorf. Firstly, the service is very peculiar and takes some getting used to. He seems very restless, unfriendly and chaotic. The salad was okay (grade 4). The pizza, whose main product was no more than a grade 4, was baked totally carelessly and had little taste and harmony. I also told the boss my concern because I didn't eat 3/4 of the pizza. His answer was: “Everything is fresh here”! Might be; that I was unlucky again, but I won't go to this restaurant again for two reasons: the owner and operator's own style and the pizza is not up to my standards. There are much better ones in Düsseldorf.

Big size pizza for the price and tasty as well but unfortunately their service isn’t the best we had an interaction with two of the staff one was friendly and the other one was totally the opposite. The food came relatively fast though the place was full.

surprisingly bad, something we didn't know about before. Pizza wasn't finished baking. The service was also annoying or unfriendly. Maybe it was because we didn't go out to eat (order) until 9:30 p.m. But we won't be eating there again for the time being. If you no longer want any business at that time, then they should close sooner.

It took 15 mins to order, 35 mins before the order came, and 25 mins to pay. Our order consisted of 3 items. They got one of the three wrong; we decided to live with it. Surprisingly, a fourth item also arrived - an extra pizza. They said we ordered it. We didn't and didn't eat it, but ended up paying anyway. Was easier than to argue on and on. The food itself was okay. The atmosphere was good, lots of locals. A very nice playground for kids right next to the tables.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the service and the food for the second time. There were finger-thick pieces of ham on the Prosciutto pizza. Service was unfriendly and very stressful and we can usually cope with a lot. There are some other good Italians in the corner.

For me the best pizza in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. The prices are more than fair. Unfortunately, it is always difficult to stop nearby by car and unfortunately you almost always have to be patient because there are so many people, but the wait is worth it!

I usually order takeout, but this time I ate inside. I think this is a restaurant with a great atmosphere, created by the chef's personality and friendly staff. The Oktopus vom Grill auf Salst I received this time was a masterpiece with a very tender octopus and a rich variety of vegetable salad on the side. Risotto alla Pescatora is a masterpiece of shrimp, squid, shellfish, and tomato sauce that goes perfectly with the flavorful rice. PIZZA Vegetaria is a delicious pizza with a wonderful harmony of a wide variety of vegetables, sauces, and cheese. PIZZA Frutti di mare is an exquisitely satisfying pizza with rich seafood and overflowing tomato sauce. I think Panna cotta is a must-try dish for those who love Italian sweets.

We went to the restaurant, which we enjoyed so much last year during our trip to Düsseldorf, two days in a row, and went back to Düsseldorf the other day for half a day. Since it was past lunch hour, most tables were empty. The waiter asked for a reservation and when I said no, he said, "I will manage you and sit you at this table as if you had a reservation." However, more than half of the tables were already empty. We placed our orders. We ordered 3 different pizzas. Even though 45-50 minutes passed, our order did not arrive. However, in the meantime, the order of the group that came after us had arrived at our back table. After they finished their meals and left, when I reminded them a few times, the master came and said there was a mistake, we will make a new one. After waiting for more than an hour, our two pizzas arrived. 10-15 minutes later, they brought our missing pizza. Meanwhile, the waiter said very brazenly, 'When I went to Istanbul years ago, I waited for two hours for my order to arrive. 'said. Even if the pizza was delicious and the price was affordable, I would not consider going to a place with such bad service again. (Last year there was much better service even though it was evening time and much more crowded)

I've been here several times and have only eaten pizza because it's really delicious. Despite the price increase, the price-performance ratio is still great. The pizza is very large and well topped. The service is friendly, sometimes a bit hectic because it is always very busy. The atmosphere is not that cozy, but sufficient for a quick pizza. In summer you can also sit outside. Unfortunately, parking spaces are difficult to find. Only cash payment possible!

Had dinner here yesterday and was thrilled with my pasta. The service was also great. And the best thing was the price/performance ratio. I have rarely eaten so well and at the same time so cheaply. Actually one of the best pizza places in pempelfort - however the service is terrible and restaurant dirty. We waited 15 mins to be seated - even though 6 tables were free. The tables were not cleaned up and once we asked to order the waiter said they are busy. Definitely don’t go there if you are hungry. 🤤

Best pizza in Düsseldorf! I don't know how many pizzas I've eaten in my life or how many different restaurants there were, but there are well over 40! Let's get started: Stopped by spontaneously because I had heard a lot about this pizzeria and asked if a table for 1 person was available. I was lucky because everything else was always fully booked (said the waiter). The service was super friendly and attentive! I ordered a Tuno pizza and was thrilled when this huge “thing” appeared on the table!! In terms of taste? Absolute opponent!!!!!!! Anyone who likes pizza MUST have eaten here once and form their own opinion about it, it would be a shame that you missed out on such a delicious pizza in this life!!! 10 stars for the pizza! The ambience and furnishings outside are relatively old and shaky (nothing special, not a wonderful ambience but bearable). I didn't see inside but it will definitely be my new regular pizzeria! 0.2 cola + HUGE pizza €14.50 = more than OKAY!

The pizza is generally good. However, the prices here were simply increased by almost 50%. In addition, only cash payments are possible and the orders are regularly added up in the head and the result is too much or too little change is given. At first we had to wait a really long time for someone to take our order. But the food was really tasty, so we took the rest with us. Best pizza in town. It's not a classic restaurant, but a trattoria or pizzeria. It's lively, loud and almost always packed. Real Italian flair emerges! The pizza has been the best in town for years, a must for every pizza fan. Cash only.

We really enjoy going to Romantica. It is a classic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately it is very loud in the pizzaria. Unfortunately you can only pay in cash.

Today I ordered a pizza with spinach, unfortunately there were pieces of porcelain in the pizza. When I brought the pizza back they told me that was normal at frutti di Mare, they would get everything out of the sea. 1. I didn't have any seafood pizza and 2. this porcelain Piece was right between the dough I suspect a plate broke in the kitchen the spritz usually you have to throw everything away

You know the pizza is authentic and delicious when it's from an Italian-run pizzeria. The high quality of food here is to be matched only by its warm and friendly service. This place is a hidden gem in the neighbourhood. You won't regret coming here.

The food is good, they delivered the order quite quickly, consider €2 more for each dish since the menu that appears in this app is outdated. It is better to make a reservation because the place is quite busy.

Probably the best pizza in Dusseldorf. It is big (really big) and delicious. The price is definitely the best for this value. Because not only I know it, the place is always full. Even that they have opened a second restaurant in the 10 minutes walking distance, the new place is full as well. I recommend to book in advance😉. Pizza to go is also a great solution:)

Excellent delicious real Italian pizza

I now have to edit my original review and deduct a star. In terms of taste, it's still the best pizza in Düsseldorf. However, when things get stressful, i.e. on Friday and Saturday in the late afternoon and early evening when a horde of pick-up customers overrun the store, both the appearance of the pizzas and the taste suffer. Unfortunately also the atmosphere. The pizzas are sometimes sparsely topped, the edges are black and if you ask the employees about it you will get disrespectful comments from 1-2 of them, like double occupancy costs extra or something similar. Whatever! It's complaining at a high level but it doesn't have to be that way.
