Pizzeria Jolly in Schönau a.Königssee

The food was okay, the service was very impersonal and careless (drinks arrived very late), and the atmosphere was completely uninviting – it's loud and hectic, especially because of people picking up food; you have no peace or privacy. I can't recommend it.

The food was excellent, nothing to complain about. The portions were also large. The one-star reviews are completely unjustified; someone was having a bad day. The pizza was delicious, it's Roman pizza, after all. The spritzes are huge. However, the service isn't the fastest.

The seating inside is very nice. However, when it's full, it can be very noisy if a table is full or if more people are sitting together. The outdoor area is partly along the street and is generally okay. Warm blankets are provided in cooler weather. Great service! It's best to reserve a table. The restaurant is in high demand for good reason.

It was outstanding. It's a shame we discovered the pizzeria on the last day.

After a long time we wanted to treat ourselves to a pizza/pasta. No sooner said than done, we called to order a Pizza Regina and Pasta Tonneto to collect. I called six times in total, now you think to yourself why they called six times and didn't get something from somewhere else... I didn't feel like looking for something else. The second time I rang I was told to hold on the line, I waited almost five minutes before I hung up and called again. The sixth and final time we finally got through and were able to order and collect it in 20 minutes. We arrived just before the deadline. The pizza had apparently been waiting for us to collect for a long time, but unfortunately the pasta hadn't arrived; it still had to come out of the kitchen. When we got home we noticed that the edges of the pizza were charred and it was already cold. Apart from that you would think it was still okay. But what kind of dough is that? Dusty dry and where was the base or edges? When you're looking forward to a pizza, you want a crust that has risen and a base that is light and flaky. The base was just thin and that was it. We don't even want to start on the pasta, but what the heck. When we first saw it, there was sauce in it, but then when we got home it was gone. Must have been a magic trick of the highest order. And that wasn't the only magic trick, as we found out in the end. The burrata on top did melt a little, but it didn't exactly make the pasta any creamier. Maybe it was because it was a lump and nothing more. Remember, the sauce was gone. Apart from the olives in bulk and the couple of small tomatoes that someone forgot to take out of the sun because they were burnt. The pasta was also very fond of each other; it just didn't want to separate to be eaten. If you've ever cooked pasta, you know how this can happen. And now for the final magic trick of the pasta: Tonnata = tuna. Apart from a small, very hard piece, there was no tuna in the dish. As we started eating, we were already debating whether to throw it away or not. We could have, but for almost €30 and with a small child at home, you don't really feel like cooking something in a hurry. So, it's all in your mouth and you're done with it, so that your mood is ruined while eating. That shouldn't really be the case with pizza and pasta... For €30, you could have made yourself a delicious pizza that you actually enjoy.

Wonderful seating on the terrace, very friendly staff, and the food is amazing! The gluten-free pizza is delicious! The best I've had so far! Highly recommend this place :)

We had to wait over an hour for our pizzas. There was no indication that it would take so long, and when we asked about it, the staff was very rude and said we just had to accept it. Not recommended for such service.

The food was generally good, but the pizza dough was so burnt around the edges that it was inedible. The vegan calzone was also okay, but the cheese and vegetables inside were still solid/raw. The noise level in the restaurant is far too loud for a cozy dinner. Doors open, doors closed, countless guests... It's not reasonable for tables in the entrance area!! Every guest wants to enjoy their meal here! It's a shame; perhaps fewer tables would be better. Despite the situation, the service is pleasant and friendly. A digestif/aperitif 😞

We have NEVER had to wait so long for our food! The two of us ate there in the evening during the week. At first we had to wait a long time until the service staff agreed who would bring us the menu and who would then take the drinks. The couples to our left and right already had drinks and were waiting for their food. After waiting for over an hour, the couples next to us gradually received their food. After OVER 1:15 hours of waiting, our food finally arrived. We actually wanted to leave, but we were so hungry. The pizzas were large, very thin and therefore not warm until ready to eat. The taste was okay, but it didn't blow us away. While we were eating our pizzas, the waitress gave us dessert on the house as an attempt to make amends. However, we had lost our hunger for it. It was explained to the neighboring table that only 6 pizzas fit in the oven and that there were too many guests in the restaurant. That can't be the case, something like that shouldn't happen in a restaurant that the kitchen isn't designed to accommodate the number of guests. And especially when it's stone oven pizza, which normally comes together super quickly. Only brings frustration for everyone. And the poor service workers are the least able to do it. We were very disappointed and didn't go there again during our vacation. There are other pizzerias in Schönau am Königssee with stone oven pizza and the pizzas there really only take 3 minutes. Just as it should be. Unfortunately we cannot recommend a visit there.

So much lovely hospitality!! No wonder that this place has been successful here in Schönau for 30 years and with more or less the same management. The food is super tasty and freshly cooked (try the pasta with salsicci and asparagus! Or one of the imaginative pizzas, for example with a fried egg or other exotic toppings. Just one important tip: be sure to reserve in advance and be so kind as to call if there are no seats, as they are very rare in the extremely popular Jolly, especially at peak times.

My son has celiac disease! Unfortunately, gluten-free pizza was empty. But there was gluten free pasta! Super delicious and then there’s the homemade ice cream! Soooo good! My son notices every little contamination, so definitely suitable for celiac disease. We can only recommend the pizzeria!

Delicious food & great atmosphere! We visited the pizzeria for lunch today and had a family-style pepperoni pizza and spaghetti carbonara – both simply outstanding! A full 10 points from us. The pizza was perfectly baked, nicely seasoned, and had a really good crust. The carbonara was creamy and flavorful. The service was also super friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not only stylishly decorated, but also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus for us. We'll definitely be back.

After all the good reviews, we decided to order two pizzas from Jolly yesterday. Super friendly service! Even the smallest pizza is big! Perfect thickness! More thin than fat! My husband had a Frutti de Mare pizza, which was adequately topped with seafood. I had the Pizza Mafiosa, which was also good with everything. Really delicious and recommended!

Excellent pizza, which I didn't expect here in such a touristy place

I'm only giving you one star because the lady on the phone either doesn't answer at all, or simply leaves the phone behind after greeting you and doesn't answer it again. Even after After 4 minutes of waiting, no one answers. This has often been the case in the last few months. So it goes without saying that when you call and want to order something, the phone line is always busy. If this is your way of telling people that you're no longer taking orders, then all I can say is "ARRIVEDERCI"!

The best pizza in town and a world championship title are advertised. Quite rightly so. The pizza was super tasty. We had the "normal" and the "elite" pizzas. Super. The Elite was super exceptional. Service was really nice, attentive and good. We didn't have a reservation, but it's recommended, and they tried very hard to give us a place even though it was full. Thanks again.

The staff is always super friendly, you just feel like you're in good hands. The pizza options are truly some of the best I've ever eaten. Terrible. The worst calzone I've ever eaten...only a touch of cheese, let alone tomato sauce. Food is also cold. Noodles hard. Spices are missing. For a child's portion of noodles (feels like 10 noodles) 11 euros.

We were there as a couple for dinner, both dishes are recommended. My partner had pasta and I had pizza. Both portions were sufficiently filling. Unfortunately we had to wait over 75 minutes until our food was ready. The ambience is convincing, beautiful decoration, modern design of the seating. The waiters are very open-minded and friendly, this is a good place for a relaxing evening for two or as a larger group. Gladly again, clear recommendation!

Highly recommended. We ate there last year and sat in the back room described in a review here... we didn't think it was a back room at all, but a wonderful, quiet corner. This year we were there again and when we booked the holiday, I was really looking forward to the pizza 😍 Everything is highly recommended, whether pizza, pasta or salad. We had to wait a relatively long time that evening compared to other restaurants where the food comes from the deep fryer, but if you know what you're waiting for it's definitely worth it!!! And the boss also apologized countless times, but if you have eyes in your head and a little sense, then you can see that the pizza makers only have two hands each 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 So all in all great! We'll definitely be back next year

Our pizzas tasted absolutely great, the pinsa dough variant is highly recommended. Friendly people, not a long wait. You should make a table reservation early.

I just came from the Pizzeria Jolly, and I have to say it was great. The Kübispizza was awesome. And the tiramisu 👍 Great again today October 8th.

What can I say? For fans of good pizza, this is exactly the right location. Top in taste and service. For something special, you can order a pizza that rises far above the table. This is for really hungry people, preferably several at once. But you can also order normal pizzas or other Italian dishes. No matter what you do, everything is great. Gladly again, really good.

Despite the restaurant being very busy, the service tried to find seats for me and my two friends. He generally seemed very polite and nice. The pizza was very tasty, despite the large selection. Unfortunately we underestimated what 45cm in diameter is - but of course we ate it up anyway :-). Would be happy to come back here next time!
