I called and asked if I could pay by card. The boss said come over and eat and you pay on Tuesday. That's what I did: schnitzel with chips and salad. It was a proper schnitzel, not a ready-made product, not pressed, pounded, seasoned and breaded by hand. It was really tasty. They also cater to special requests. I got spicy sauce instead of salad at no extra cost for the schnitzel with everything that goes with it, with 1 non-alcoholic beer and a large lemonade for a shandy, €24.00, and it was delicious.

The menu is small, as it should always be, but the dishes are delicious and the portions are generous! The prices are very reasonable. The service is very friendly and attentive; you can immediately tell that they love their jobs!

We stopped in for a spontaneous meal and were lucky that there was still a table available in the beer garden. We were served by a very friendly waitress. I had roast pork, my wife had meatloaf. The portions were large and very tasty. The price/performance ratio is definitely good here; other restaurants are significantly more expensive and the portions are smaller. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely go there again.👍👍👍

We spontaneously sailed in there a few days ago because it was raining. As the rain got worse, we lingered further and further, and it turned into a very cheerful evening, thanks to the super friendly service and the fact that we all had to sit a little closer together due to the weather. 😁 A few days later, we ate there again, and everything was perfect, too. The food was delicious, the plates were full, and the value for money was right. The ambiance is rustic and fits the location...I can highly recommend the Achenstüberl. We felt very comfortable there!

No longer an insider tip, but quaint, authentic, and certainly not your typical tourist-friendly place. The prices are absolutely reasonable. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be back.

A rustic, typical beer garden atmosphere, uncomplicated and no-nonsense. Dogs are absolutely welcome here, and the clientele is mixed and rather relaxed. The atmosphere is accordingly comfortable, and the food is terrific. Decent portions on the plate, very tasty, and really good value for money. We'll definitely be back and are already looking forward to the delightful setting and the delicious food 😋

I always enjoy stopping off along the hiking trail at the Königssee Arche. A stop at the "Enzian Trinkhalle" is always worthwhile. I didn't eat, though.

Very good food! Very very good! I found the spiciness of the devil's toast to be just right, so it was spicy, but not too intense... Schnitzel with fries as you wish. Drinks came quickly... You can go there again...

Quaint, cozy & super friendly people! We actually wanted to eat here, but unfortunately the kitchen was already closed. So we just had a drink - but the team still looked after us really well! The atmosphere in the hut is really cozy, and the people there are real Bavarian originals - warm, sociable and super hospitable. Our dog was also warmly welcomed, which we really appreciate. Next time we will definitely come earlier to try the food too

Quiet corner, but the idyll is somewhat disturbed by locals. The food is absolutely good, I can only recommend it. The service is fast, precise and also recommended. I also think that the ambience doesn't suffer despite the low volume. All in all, I am very satisfied and can only recommend it without any problems.

Yesterday at 5 p.m. you could still choose the spot, half an hour later everything was full! Great atmosphere / you get to talk to the other people at the table / tourists, locals are all in a good mood. The music was playing (Hubsi was playing) and we didn't have to wait long for food and drink / compliments to the crew outside and in the kitchen / just plain great / thank you 👍

Small and cozy Stüberl in Schönau am Königsee. We had a delicious and affordable Wienerschnitzel mit Pommes there. With a regional beer of course. We enjoyed it very much and although it was in the valley, you got an old-fashioned hut feeling when you sat down to eat. Staff are friendly and prices are fair. Great place to eat traditionally without too much frills.

The Achenstüberl is more of a pub than a restaurant. Accordingly, the facility takes a bit of getting used to. But still a little insider tip for me. The small menu offers simple dishes at a very fair price. The quality and portions are very good. We really enjoyed it and the young guy who served us (I don't know if it was the landlord, but it almost seemed like it) was very friendly, attentive and somehow entertaining. I can only recommend stopping there for dinner.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to the Achenstüberl and sat down in the beer garden. We were there around 4:45 p.m. and therefore still had a free choice. An hour later all tables were occupied. The food was super tasty and the portions were generous 👌🤤 The waiter was very attentive and immediately brought the dog water, the waitress who served us was super nice and also very attentive 🥰 our 3-year-old daughter was listened to patiently, even though she was busy. Big plus point ❤️ Price-performance ratio was right. We've had beer in other restaurants for €1 more per glass 😅 All in all a nice beer garden with delicious food and nice people at reasonable prices 👌

Just great since you can only pay in cash there, we had something to drink first and wanted to eat something later, but since our daughter was of course hungry as always, we ordered a Wienerschnitzel, which was in cash 💸 was still enough, the portion was so big that it was almost It was enough for the three of us and it was delicious too

We could not get a chance to taste a food at this place, but I will tell you about attitude. First we looked for a place to eat, found this place, reviews are good. Sat at the table outside, people around were drinking beer and eating. After some time owner came out and asked to sit closer because apparently there are 2 bars at the same place. We sat outside closer, then owner came again and asked to come inside to order, speaking German (we are English speaking, with a bit of German understanding, ordering in German usually), people started to smile, we smiled back. We came inside and asked for a menu cause situation was awkward, owner said something in German again, and showed us a paper on which ir was written 17:00. (time was 16:05). Ok, we thanked and gone to another place. 2 stars for a performance.

Absolute insider tip. Oops, not anymore. The Stüberl team are the hottest. Willi is the best soup cook! And once the Maggi surface circles, then it goes around. In a nutshell: You've come to the right place!

For us it's a simple but one of the most rustic locations in Schönau, with great food and great service.

The food was good! As a tourist you will meet hospitable locals who sometimes hold their regulars' meetings there. I really liked the direct and open manner. The landlord is obviously an experienced mountain hiker, as he described the Watzmann as a “practice mountain”. Very impressive. Many greetings from the north.
