Very good food and friendly staff! :)

This was the restaurant we visited on our way back to Munich from Königssee. The food was delicious. Importantly, they didn't serve pork knuckle. They also had an English menu. It was mostly locals dining there. Our table ordered several dishes and drinks, and everything was excellent. The dining environment was clean and comfortable. Recommended.

There were four of us, and we made a reservation on a whim. We were very kindly shown to our seats and immediately felt at home. The food was extremely delicious, the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was divine, the best we've ever had. We went back the next day. It's worth the money.

A fantastic experience at Gasthaus Bodner: friendly staff, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. The Sauerbraten was a highlight! The value for money was also excellent. We're from North Rhine-Westphalia, and coming here was one of the best decisions we made. We'd love to come back!

Very quiet and pleasant restaurant, the food was delicious, and I rolled out with a full stomach. The service was very attentive.

I went to Gasthof Bodner on a whim. And even though I didn't have a reservation, the very friendly waitress offered me a table. The ambiance feels tidy and homey without being overly elaborate. The menu is concise but offers a number of variations, and vegetarians will also find something to their liking. I opted for the "grill plate" (see picture). The presentation is rather rustic, without any frills, but I really appreciate that. The food was exceptionally delicious; the herb butter and gravy were homemade, and you could taste it. The meat wasn't overcooked, so it remained tender and juicy. After a dessert sundae, I knew for sure: I'll be back!

Gasthof Bodner is a wonderful place to enjoy traditional German food! There’s a huge selection of quality meals, especially if you like hearty beef dishes. The portions are big, the food is full of flavor, and everything feels homemade. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. We even got a small shot of schnapps as a compliment 🍸 It’s the perfect spot to sit with friends or enjoy a cozy evening with your wife over great food and a cold beer. When I'm in Bavaria, I like to eat regional dishes, but today I decided differently. I had the cheese burger, my wife the veggie burger, both were excellent. I've eaten many burgers in my life, but the one at Bodner is definitely number one; I'd have a hard time getting it that good myself. Be sure to reserve a table; if you don't have one, the Graßl family will make every effort to get you a table, although there will be a bit of a wait.

I would particularly like to highlight the exceptionally delicious food, the wonderful conservatory (heated in the evenings), and the consistently attentive and courteous service. The only downside was the occasional heavy rain, which made conversation in the conservatory a challenge.

The restaurant is located in an open plain and has parking adjacent to it, the decoration, the ambience and the overall feel was pleasant. The owner allowed us entry and table even though we had no reservation. The food was good and the portions are huge, we had the beef ghoulash and the sauterbrunnen. I would recommend a visit, they have lots of non pork options.

Even though the restaurant was empty, we weren't allowed to sit on the glass-enclosed terrace. The reason given was that they had to set the tables first. Our offer to do it ourselves was ignored. The interior was dark and stuffy, so we opted for one of the many other great restaurants in the area.

We spontaneously made a reservation that same day, and everything worked out. We sat in the beautiful, cozy winter garden. The food was delicious! Especially the baked pork loin. The portion was also very generous. The service was also very friendly. Highly recommended!

On a rainy weekend, we sat on the (glass) terrace at Gasthaus Bodner. With a beautiful view, I had a dark beer and the miner's pan (?). My wife ordered the schnitzel in a mushroom cream sauce with fries. The drinks and food arrived promptly and were worth every euro. A very friendly waitress added the finishing touch. In our opinion, an absolute must for anyone traveling in the area! We'd love to go back!

One of the best inns in Schönau

We were there for dinner for the first time and had made a reservation. We pointed out that we were coming with dogs. This was handled perfectly, and a table was chosen for us in a corner so our dogs were undisturbed and out of the way. A big compliment to the waitresses: very friendly, accommodating, and quick. The food (beef goulash, mountain farmer's pan, schnitzel) was very tasty and the portions were generous. Only the fried potatoes could have been a bit browner (they were very pale and still a bit hard); there wasn't much of a "fried" appearance. But otherwise, everything was excellent; we'll go again.

The Gasthof Bodner is highly recommended! The food is delicious, and you immediately sense the family atmosphere. Although we don't know the owners personally, we felt like we were visiting good friends or family. We especially want to highlight the Kaiserschmarrn – simply heavenly! We've never had anything as good as this. It's often either too greasy or undercooked, but this one was truly perfect. We'll definitely be back!

The food was okay, the fried potatoes were just a quick swirl in the pan :-( We were treated unfriendly at times.

This makes eating out fun... friendly, fast service, prompt drinks, and delicious food at reasonable prices! Bottom line: We'll be back.

We stopped in for dinner today. The food was truly delicious. Our service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, one of the waiters at the counter complained almost the entire time, which was a bit annoying.

I'm pleased to read that it's an excellent restaurant; unfortunately, I didn't have the pleasure of enjoying their food and hospitality because (at 7:15 PM on Sunday, August 17th) we (there were two of us) were turned away: according to the manager, they'd run out of food. We explained in vain that a plate of pasta and two fried eggs would be enough, and when I asked if he could recommend another restaurant nearby, he replied that he didn't know of one. Oh well, maybe next time. For now... good luck.

Very delicious regional dishes. We ate here three times during our 14-day vacation at Königssee. From the pork roast to the pepper pan, from the beef goulash to the napkin dumplings in mushroom sauce, we thoroughly enjoyed each of our three visits. The menu for "little guests" was also very popular with our children. Highly recommended!

The Bodner is still a guest house; a table for ten people was reserved within 90 minutes, and everything went perfectly, thanks only to the fantastic team at Bodner, and the food was perfect as always... that's what a guest house achieves...
