Gasthof Bodner in Schönau a.Königssee

Highly recommended! We were completely impressed by Restaurant Bodner! The atmosphere is very pleasant – stylish yet cozy. The service was attentive, friendly, and professional. The quality of the food is particularly noteworthy: fresh, lovingly prepared, and of the highest quality.

We Lower Saxony residents ate here on a bike tour. Superbly prepared pan dishes that were very, very tasty... Always recommended for a stay!

Everything was great. The food was really delicious and the staff was super friendly. Reservations would be a good idea, as all the tables are always booked. But we were always lucky :).

I had the "Kas Burger." Best burger meal I've had in a long time. 👍Curly fries that were crispy yet soft, with three different dips. 😍The burger was nice and juicy.

Reservations are recommended, as the inn is very popular and gets busy. The dining room is traditionally decorated, and guests sit close together, just like in a pub.

My wife and I ate at the Gasthof Bodner in Schönau am Königssee. The food was overall okay – solid in taste, and reasonable in value. However, the service was rather disappointing. When asked if the devil's sauce was spicy and what it consisted of, the waiter responded with a barely perceptible shrug and the comment that it consisted of "ketchup and mayonnaise." This answer seemed indifferent and not very service-oriented – especially since it was obviously factually incorrect. A quick query to the kitchen would certainly have been possible, but would have been too much effort. Not rude, but also not particularly attentive or helpful – that's probably the best way to sum up the service.

We had devil's toast, the cheese burger, and the sausage octopus for the little one—all absolutely top-notch! The cheese burger was truly the best burger I've had in a long time! The service and ambiance also speak for themselves. A visit is practically a must, and I'm confident that everyone will get their money's worth here. I'd especially like to emphasize the attentive and always friendly service; a definite recommendation; we'd love to come back :)

We'd be happy to go back! In addition to a wide selection of dishes, there's a special menu for children and seniors(!). The selection of vegetarian dishes wasn't limited to the usual Kässpatzen (cheese spaetzle). It was also exemplary. Very friendly and pleasant service. And they even offered us a shot of schnapps on the house. Plus, the prices were very reasonable.

We arrived without a reservation at the peak of our dinner time. The place was packed, but we still managed to get a seat, and after what felt like 10 minutes, the food was on the table! Yes, it's possible! The roast beef with onions was juicy, the roulade was just like grandma's, and the cheeseburger was a revelation. The whole team seemed to work together really well and relaxed, despite the large number of guests. Respect. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring some ham with us at the end. We'll be back!

Anyone who wants to eat in a rush can eat there. The head waiter at the next table didn't get a tip and then mumbled an insult in his own language (Croatian). I'll never need that again.

We ate here today and were delighted. The food tasted freshly prepared and not reheated (in the microwave) like in other restaurants. The staff was very friendly and efficient, but not intrusive. At the end, we were treated to a schnapps on the house.

Ate here twice this week. Really very tasty. Not cheap and don't expect to be able to dine all evening. The second time we were outside within 45 minutes. That's a shame. You can tell that the tables have to be occupied several times a night

Excellently organized and a warm welcome – a definite recommendation! We were visiting Königssee with a large group of 17 people and received a very warm welcome at this restaurant. Even though we had a rather short notice, a table was booked for us within an hour – that was truly impressive! Pre-ordering the food worked perfectly, so everything was served quickly and smoothly. Gasthaus Bodner is a truly quaint restaurant in Schönau am Königssee. Very friendly staff and helpful with any questions. The food is truly delicious, and the portions are generous. Fair value for money. I think they're open every day. I recommend stopping by anytime 🍽️🍺👍🏻 and before I forget, what's also very nice is that they offer a free digestive afterward 🤤

We were here on vacation and were very satisfied.

Apparently, everything was booked, even though it was almost empty. They could be a bit more flexible in this regard. If you arrive as a guest at 5 p.m. and almost all the tables are reserved but not yet occupied, why do you have to leave without the service staff even checking the reservations? I myself worked in the restaurant industry for a long time, and there was still plenty of leeway at 5 p.m. to avoid having to turn away hungry guests. Does the owner know that there are supposedly no more seats available this early, and that's why they're forced to show paying guests the door? With good food and good service staff, you can easily get a table at 5 p.m. until the big storm hits at 6-7 p.m.

The food was simply delicious, freshly prepared and prepared with a lot of love. The entire staff was always friendly, attentive and in a good mood - you felt completely welcome. Went there twice during our vacation The food tastes fantastic, everything happens at a decent pace, rarely have we experienced such good service. View and ambience excellent. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back. Reservations are urgently required, it is extremely popular to eat there. And even without a reservation, they try to get you a seat (they don't always succeed). *Update* Now I've been there a third time, still excellent, everything as described above. We can only recommend it. We'll come again on our next vacation 😊

A charming place with traditional German dishes and a cozy atmosphere. The beers are excellent, and your furry friend is welcome to join you too. A wonderful experience – highly recommended!

We went there on Friday evening without making a reservation. We got a table in the winter garden. Despite the low outside temperatures, it's not a problem as there are enough heaters. Although almost all tables were occupied, we were served very friendly and quickly. The food was simply amazing! Super tasty and large portions and at fair prices. In short: great service, great ambience and delicious food For me the best restaurant in the region.

The Gasthof Bodner impresses in every respect: delicious, rustic and cozy. The panorama over the valley meadows is unique and the price-performance ratio is very good, somewhat away from the tourist hotspots. We have been going to Berchtesgadener Land regularly for years. No restaurant has impressed us as much as the Gasthof Bodner. Insider tip: Be sure to try the old Bavarian schnitzel!

We went here for dinner today and absolutely loved it! I had the onion roast - really tender, super seasoned and simply delicious. My girlfriend had the mushroom schnitzel with butter spaetzle and was also really impressed. The butter spaetzle in particular was a highlight – absolutely recommended! We didn't manage to have dessert as the portions were really generous and filling.

We stayed with family for a week Graßl accommodated in 2 holiday apartments. We had dinner in the restaurant the first and last evening. The food was a dream, I had the venison goulash and it was perfect. Meat was buttery soft and the cranberry sauce was a great addition. The service staff was very friendly and paid attention to whether everything was to our satisfaction. The ambience was very typically Bavarian and therefore top. The sanitary facilities are also very hygienic and pleasant. All in all, a great inn with great food and fair prices.

The food came really quickly and was plentiful. The taste is a dream and really delicious. Can only recommend the inn. And if we end up in Bertechsgadener Land again, we will stop at the Gasthof Bodner again :)

We were at the restaurant for dinner. The waitresses were all very helpful and thoughtful. The food tasted great as always, although the portions may have been a little smaller. But definitely an inn that you can recommend.

From regional animal husbandry.

Excellent traditional bavarian restaurant with great food and huge portions. They use local products from they farm. The beer is also local (Hofbrauhaus) and is great. Wine is very good too. Service and ambiance are warm and kind. In a nutshell, a hidden gem where I will sure return. 100% recommend.

My friend had a burger and unfortunately there were several pieces of bone in it. Otherwise the portion was reasonable for the price. I wanted the roast pork, but it's only available on Sundays. I would be happy if such details were on the menu so that guests can assume that it is not an everyday meal. My alternative meal was also quite okay.

We ate there on the last day of our vacation and it was just the perfect ending. The food was the best we had the pleasure of eating that week. We had cheese spaetzle, a small portion of beef goulash and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. Everything was super tasty, strongly seasoned and the Kaiserschmarrn was to die for. We sat outside in the winter garden and had a wonderful view. The service was also very nice and at the end there was a schnapps on the house. We will definitely come back here.

The Bodner is really a hit! The food is amazing - really good Bavarian cuisine that you can taste. What's particularly great is that the little ones aren't forgotten here - our 4-year-old was very busy with the painting supplies. The service is super friendly and takes really good care of you. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect - you just feel comfortable and welcome here. By the way, the beef comes directly from our own farm, and you can taste it too! We'll definitely be back - it's just a really cozy inn where everything fits.

The food was very good. The meat comes from our own affiliated butcher shop. The ambience is Bavarian, rustic and very cozy. The service was absolutely top and super friendly. The apricot schnapps at the end, on the house, was the best schnapps I've had in years. And that even though I come from the Black Forest. Please don't pour the liquor on your ex. He's far too good for that. What I thought was a shame: The palat on ice cream was either bought or pre-baked and then warmed up. Unfortunately dry edges. Then it's better not to offer. The prices and the quality of the food are serious and in an honest relationship. I will come back at any time and without reservation. Just don't eat the stuff at the lake. This is a real tourist scam.

By chance while browsing the internet, I came across this restaurant for dinner. Reservation went straight away, reception was friendly. Food was excellent and plentiful. Anytime again, price performance is right... Ambience very nice and cozy.

A quaint old restaurant with a lot of charm. It is very cozy, the atmosphere takes you back to old times. The two of us were on a short vacation there and had dinner in the restaurant. A cozy place to end the evening. There was a burger and a Champion Schnitzel with a beer each. It was very tasty and clearly recommended, but I personally would have liked a side salad or that the plate would have been more distorted. The toilets were clean and generally a clean room.

We were there for the New Year's Eve menu. The food was excellent and the service was super nice.
