Pizzeria IL Mio in Kellenhusen (Ostsee)

The prices have increased significantly from last year to today. Service could be nicer or let's just say that when you ask something you shouldn't roll your eyes so that the customers can see it. You don't do that. The food was ok but nothing more. Alternatively, you can stop there.

A bit old and quite cramped in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. Our pizzas were so overloaded with vegetables that the bottom was completely soggy due to the juice escaping. The salad for the starter, on the other hand, was drowned in balsamic vinegar... In the past, there was olive oil and balsamic vinegar with the salad and everyone could dose it themselves. The food was served at such a speed that it was not possible to "enjoy the meal in peace"... Sorry, But there is still room for improvement... It was definitely better there before.

We had dinner there on Tuesday evening. A small, cozy restaurant with a view of the sea. We decided on 2 pizzas. These arrived and the feasting could begin. Very big and the taste even bigger. It's been a long time since I've had such a tasty pizza! Flat dough and very well topped.A pleasure!5☆ for it!!!From the outside it looks quite inconspicuous at first glance, but then it turns out to be an insider tip:) And because it was so nice, again the next day! The prices are also great for this quality! Best regards in the kitchen and the service was also great! By the way, the 🍨 is also recommended there 😋

Food was super tasty and plentiful. We didn't have to wait long, which is very pleasant with two kids. The ambience is very nice on the beach promenade, but the prices are very affordable. We would love to come back.

We were there on Friday evening to have dinner. Unfortunately we waited a long time for service. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. At first there were two of us and as the evening progressed we became three. Instead of asking the person coming in if she wanted something to drink or eat, she was asked if she wanted to pay the bill. The table began to be cleared without a word, although my wife still had something to eat on her plate... Luckily she had already finished eating. The food was great and we will therefore give the pizzeria another chance. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. ----------------------------------------------- On Saturday afternoon we gave the pizzeria another chance. This time we were served more quickly and the service was significantly better than the last time we visited. Unfortunately I have something to complain about this time too... Unfortunately, of the three dishes we ordered, only one was correct. We asked for one dish to be prepared without mushrooms, but unfortunately this didn't work. However, before serving we were asked whether it was an intolerance so that we could be served an alternative if necessary. The other dish was prepared completely incorrectly. This time too the food was great. We don't know yet whether we will go there again.

I can highly recommend this place. The employees are very friendly and relaxed, and the waiting time is not very long. Everything is very clean and well-kept here, and the prices are ok too. You can sit and eat here very well outside or inside. Toilets 🚽 are available.

Hello, unfortunately a failure......far from Italian food culture. The Bolognese was sweet and atypical, the supposed Parmesan cheese lacked the Parmesan flavor and was reminiscent of shaved plastic. Even the huge amounts of rocket leaves couldn't make up for that. Italian cuisine requires original Italian cooking. Unfortunately, the Spaghetti Gorgonzola also lacked the Gorgonzola flavor; instead, the spaghetti was swimming in a cream sauce. However, it was very accommodating that we didn't have to pay for the so-called Bolognese. Thank you Mustafa Aglamaz

Wir als Familie können uns nicht beschweren. Das Eis ist sehr lecker. Die Pizza sind sehr groß, gut belegt und auch sehr lecker. Auch bei der Pasta können wir uns nicht beschweren. Sehr lecker alles und preis Leistung auch sehr gut.

The pizza was really tasty!! Not the usual pizza that was being served in Germany which is always too soft. The pizza dough was very crispy and thin which a good pizza should be! The restaurant was so full and guests come and go non stop but the staff were always serving with a smiling faces ( which is not so often in Germany). It would be nicer if the table could be a bit better. But nevertheless I highly recommend it.

Wir waren jetzt 2x in diesem Urlaub zum Essen im Il Mio,, und wir müssen leider feststellen, dass sich vieles gegenüber dem letzten Jahr verschlechtert hat. Die Preise sind zwar im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Restaurants hier im Ort kaum angehoben worden, aber der Service und das Essen ist verbesserungswürdig! Kaum jemand vom Personal kann Deutsch oder versteht nur das Nötigste. Das fängt bei der Bestellung an, wo Nachfragen an die Chefin (?) weitergegeben werden müssen und zieht sich bis zur Bezahlung, wo es zum Problem wird, wenn man getrennt zahlen möchte. Die Pizza ist mittlerweile viel zu dünn und eher ein brüchiger Flammkuchen. Das war definitiv vorher besser. Die Pasta beim 2. Besuch war aber i.O. .Dafür bekommt man fast lauwarmes Bier bzw. Radler, was bei 25 Grad nicht schön ist. Es herrscht zwar leider überall Personalmangel, aber das Il Mio hat damit scheinbar schwer zu kämpfen. Da hilft es nur wenig, wenn anders als nei vielen Restaurants im Ort hier kein Ruhetag eingelegt wird. Positiv ist aber anzumerken, dass beim Eis nichts zu bemängeln ist. Für 1,80 pro (große) Kugel bekommt man aber auch wirklich leckeres Eis!

Finally back at Il Mio 🥰. A place outside with a view of the Baltic Sea, mega delicious large pizzas, prices for the first row are very reasonable, very nice staff, what more could you want. OK, the icing on the cake would be quiet Italian music!

Den Laden kann man vergessen! Wir hab reserviert, unsere Buchung wurde schriftlich festgehalten. Am Abend 15 Minuten vor unserem Termin waren wir bereits vor Ort und wurden stehen gelassen. Alle Tische frisch vergeben. Wir sprachen drei mal die Personen vor Ort an, keiner zeigte auch bloß das geringste Interesse sich uns anzunehmen. Geil aufs Geld und unseren Tisch fremdvergeben. Es gibt viele andere Restaurants meidet dieses!

Unfortunately we weren't particularly happy. The pizzeria is of course beautifully located right on the promenade in Kellenhusen with a view of the sea, which we really liked. But there is criticism of the food we ordered. Our son had a salami pizza, which was quite ok, my husband ordered the spare ribs listed on the menu as approx. 400 g, but he only received 200 g at most, if at all. The approximately 15 fries had probably been ready for a while and had to wait for the spare ribs, which was tasty. My dish, spaghetti al limone, was listed on the menu as having, among other things, a cream and pea sauce. However, I looked for the peas in vain and asked a waitress about them, who wanted to inquire in the kitchen, but then didn't show up again. The whole dish was VERY lemony. Of course you expect a lemon note with "al limone" but the whole thing was just sour, I could have bitten into a lemon straight away. It's a shame, we definitely expected more after the many positive reviews.

Location, service and ambience are significantly better than the food. The pizza was a complete failure, so I'd rather stick with the good old frozen pizza! The tomato sauce on the tonno was way too sweet and it had no seasoning… The pizza with anchovies was disappointing. The Pizza Haus in Neustadt is much better and they have a real stone oven!

A great restaurant with attention to detail. The team is warm and the food is always on point. The pizzas are fantastic and the ice cream is always worth a visit anyway. Requests and suggestions are taken into account and whether meat dishes or vegetarian dishes, everything and everyone is catered for. Feel good guaranteed! Big praise to the entire team. We just wanted to eat something quickly... And then it was so unexpectedly delicious 😍!!! Fantastic! And you sit among the fresh herbs that are used in the dishes. Attentive, friendly service, family atmosphere. And with a wonderful view of the beach and pier at very reasonable prices. Really great 👍!

I stayed at a campsite nearby for one night and was just passing through by bike. Pasta (Spaghetti Alla Norma) was delicious and really a huge portion. Bruschetta was good too. Just the thing after a long day on the bike.

We had pizza and lasagne. The food was good, but could have used a little more seasoning. Super tasty thin, real pizza base. We apologized in advance for the long wait, but it was completely acceptable. There was immediately a children's chair. Unfortunately there was no non-alcoholic aperitif. We were lucky and got the best spot in the evening. warming evening sun and still a great view of the Baltic Sea. I would go here again.

Enjoyed very tasty pizza. Who else offers 30 cm pizza today 😳? But not just big, but nice thin dough, well topped and really tasty. What's also positive is that you get decent knives with which you can actually cut the pizza 😉. The service was also very friendly and accommodating. If you're in the mood for pizza on the coast, you should definitely stop here.

Hello. If you want to eat a delicious pizza, you've come to the right place. I had the seafood pizza twice. This does what the name promises. Really tasty. My wife had the sheep's cheese pizza. She was also very satisfied. The prices for food and drinks are absolutely reasonable - even inexpensive in comparison! The personnel is very friendly and courteous. We ate there twice. We would like to come again.

And the coffee tastes good too.

Simple beach shack sums it up pretty well. Unfortunately, the kitchen was probably broken on the day of our visit. There was only pizza. The dirty rags were lying everywhere on the floor. There was an unpleasant smell in the store. The staff loudly moved the dishes around and away. Even here you could only see dirty rags used to polish the glasses. The service was nice, but it was off work at 7:30 p.m. The pizza was plentiful but carelessly topped and completely tasteless.

While on vacation I was craving some delicious pasta. Of course I could have cooked them myself. But when you go out to eat, you usually get something very special that you don't cook yourself. And that was exactly what I was allowed to eat here. My dish was tortelline and my husband's spaghetti was really tasty. The ice cream sundaes that went out to the other tables were visually nothing to sneeze at either. I highly recommend this restaurant, right on the pier

Eaten more deliciously than I have in a long time, lasagne was bombastic and the rump steak was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly even though it was very busy. Thank you for the lovely evening with you and my daughter.

We personally arranged a table for 3 people on site in the morning for 6:30 p.m. in the evening. Arrived on time and was laughed at by the female waiter as a thank you! "What, now a table?!" HAHAHAHA "Yeah, that was discussed this morning!" HAHAHAHAHAH There is no recommendation for this!

The pizzas had plenty of toppings and were very tasty. The bruschetta was very good and with delicious olive oil. The staff was very friendly and quick. The only drawback was the terrible elevator music! An annoying piano noise. A little quiet Italian music would have made the whole thing perfect!

Good shop with quick service. Brochetta was very good 👍 The tortellini were very good 👍 The pizza was plenty big and tasty. However, the base of the pizza is very hard to cut so it is best to cut it into eights and use your hand. Prices are okay for the location on the promenade.

Went here for ice cream. The ice cream was great, there was a small selection of sundaes. We sat outside with a view of the sea. There were blankets as it was cool today. We had to get the waiter out first, even though there wasn't much going on. The prices are a little higher than you are used to. Unfortunately, a napkin was missing.

We have now been to Il Mio two evenings in a row. The service is very nice, friendly and helpful. Children are treated very lovingly. We had the pizza arugula and the fire pan and they were both incredibly tasty and the portions were enough for us. Price-performance ratio is appropriate. We would love to come back🥰

Very nice service and super delicious food! Considering it's located right on the beach promenade, the prices are actually quite reasonable. The only thing that is a bit irritating are the labels on the plate with which the cutlery is brought. It says that you shouldn't dirty the plate because it's for cutlery. Are these plates not washed or why is it bad if they come into contact with food?

I drank a black tree here yesterday and the ambience was simply great and the service was also great - you also have a beautiful, direct view of the Baltic Sea :)

Small but nice restaurant right on the pier. Very friendly staff and fantastic food. We shared the wild herb salad with the Gamberini pizza. Both very tasty. My dad's pasta was also great. We'll definitely go back. Price performance is completely okay and justified.

Ich hatte abends habe eine Thunfisch Pizza bestellt. Schon zum Beginn des Verzehrs hatte ich massive allergische Reaktionen. Zunächst brannte der gesamte Mund, dann schwoll der gesamte Mundraum an und wurde taub. Meine Begleitung hatte ebenfalls meine Pizza probiert und festgestellt, dass es kribbelt. Der Kellner hatte nur als Erklärung es sei zuviel Thunfisch drauf. Auch zwei Tage danach sind bestimmte Bereiche im Mund noch geschwollen. Ich habe dies beim Gesundheitsamt in Eutin gemeldet und heute die aaRückmeldung bekommen, dass noch weitere Personen sich mit Vergiftungsreaktionen gemeldet haben. Das Gesundheitsamt war noch gestern vor Ort und hat festgestellt, dass die Konservendosen sich bereits wölben. Durch unsachgemäße Lagerung von Thunfisch bildet sich Histamin, was zu einer Vergiftung führt.

Various criteria lead to the overall evaluation: The pizza is world class and can hardly be bettered. 6 stars for this if possible. The lasagna was mediocre, average. I can't rate other dishes. The service seems overwhelmed (including linguistically), the ambience is a squat glass box with a squat outdoor area, but a sea view. I would also accept a longer journey for this pizza. Belissimo

Pizza was okay, but underwhelming. Antipasti Italiana were lousy and didn't taste like Italy. The ice cream ordered was not served.

Unfortunately the bruschetta was prepared incorrectly. The bread was way too thick and not toasted. The herb butter was forgotten for my main course, the rump steak. Upon request, a piece of butter was mixed with rocket and served to me. You tried but didn't achieve your goal. Only the super friendly service saved our evening. You should hold on to that one. Apparently your pizzas are very good. Focus on that and nothing more

At lunchtime there is actually warm food from 11:30 a.m. However, the service only showed up at 11:50 a.m. and served the guests who had been waiting for a long time. Unfortunately there was no explanation for this. We didn't like that. We liked the pizza. PS: I find it interesting that the owner wants to have my review deleted via Google as a violation of his personal rights. If you have any suggestions for improving the service, please be sure to keep your invoice!

At the kind tip of the Google team, the last sentence from 2022 was removed. The rest of the review still stands. 6/7/23, 1 year after my last review: Service even worse!! After almost 20 minutes of waiting for the menu and 3 tables taken before us, even though they were seated after us, this was the last attempt!! 2022: Pizza very thin base, plenty of toppings and taste good. Milanese style schnitzel was plentiful and tasted very good. Fries fresh and chewy. Salad side dish sufficient. Only the disorganized service costs stars. 15 minutes of waiting for the card with 3 tables already served and the rest not being empty. Wait another 10 minutes for the order to be taken. At least you could have asked about the drinks when you brought the menu.

Has nothing to do with Italian pizza.

Family-run Italian cuisine 🇮🇹... It's great🙂 Because of the weather we ate in the restaurant... Inside it's a bit old, outside you have a direct view of the beach👍 The service was very nice and good. .. The menu has everything we expected, only for vegetarians the selection is below average... It's a shame😦... Since we only had pizza and a vegetarian soup, I can only review a small selection of the menu... The pizzas are of course handmade and good... The soup was ok... Price/performance is good... One more thing... Pizza Diavolo is really SPICY 😮‍💨😋 CONCLUSION: RECOMMENDED 🏆🏆🏆

Recommended in all respects. The four of us were there several times during our vacation week. The quality of the food was excellent every time. The pizzas are excellent. The dough is sensationally good and the topping is absolutely sufficient. Taste perfect. Service friendly and nice. Every now and then you may have to accept a short waiting time, but you're on vacation and that's perfectly fine, the food is definitely worth it. Price performance appropriate for today's times. Tried some ice cream outside in the summer and it tasted great too. Not cheap, but the ice cream is very good. All in all, an absolute recommendation and we would be happy to come back at any time.
