Pizzeria IL Mio in Kellenhusen (Ostsee)

Definitely not the best pizza I ever had. Far from it. Also, definitely not the worst.

Beautifully located with a view of the Baltic Sea. Unfortunately, that was all there was to it. The staff was unfriendly and uncommunicative. The food was watery. We ordered lasagna and spaghetti bolognese. Both dishes were watery and unsatisfying. The Rewe ready-made lasagna is by far tastier. When asked if you liked it, we answered honestly and received only a shrug, and the wait staff disappeared. It's a real shame. We'll get a ready-made lasagna from the local supermarket next time.

We've become regulars here, and no matter what we've ordered/eaten over the years, it's always been delicious! Value for money = VERY GOOD! We always love coming back. The service is also perfect, always friendly, and very flexible when it comes to special requests (at no extra charge)! The attached ice cream parlor is also 100% recommended! A scoop now costs €2, but it's more than worth it, as the scoops are extra large (XXL) and incredibly delicious! The ice cream vendor is always up for a joke, which is exactly how you retain and win customers! And the location of this restaurant right on the promenade is a real treat!

Unfortunately, the ice cream vendor was very rude and not at all customer-friendly. The ice cream was average but nothing special. I can't say anything about the restaurant. Prices are expensive, due to the location.

My family and I ate at Pizzeria Il Mio three times. We were very satisfied each time. The service was extremely friendly, the food freshly prepared, and delicious. My daughter and I particularly enjoyed the Spaghetti Al Limone – simply fantastic and highly recommended. We believe the value for money is excellent. We will gladly return and can recommend Pizzeria Il Mio with a clear conscience.

Wonderful restaurant! The ambiance right by the sea is breathtaking. The restaurant is very beautiful and very clean and well-maintained. The service is super friendly and attentive. For us, eating there is always a must. We have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and delicious. The portions are perfect. You always leave feeling full.

We wanted to eat ice cream there, the waitress was too stupid to write it down properly and then came up with all the wrong flavors. Then the boss came and wanted to smash the ice cream together, to which we said that it wasn't possible and everything had already melted. Then he asked what he should do now. We said make the ice cream the way we ordered it. In short, he threw us out.

They probably don't want to make any money either: We wanted to eat here, and when we arrived, there were two waiters standing there, one picking tomatoes, the other standing by the menus. Both had looked at us and seen us. We sat down, and for about 10 minutes, no one came, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. After 10 minutes, we got up and left. It was really rude not to come. We saw something like that last year, too. It's a real shame, even though the place looks nice and the food tasted good last year.

The best pizza you can eat. And there are two terraces for seating. But the service is incredibly poor. And there's only one card payment machine, so the pizzeria really needs to upgrade. Because one waiter is running around with it, and all the other waiters can't take the cash!

🌊🍕 Pizzeria il Mio – Pure vacation feeling! Located right on the beach, with a view of the sea and pizza like in Italy – what more could you want? The service was fast and incredibly friendly, everyone with a smile 😊. Children were warmly welcomed, special requests were easily fulfilled, and the pizzas? Large, crispy, simply delicious! Prices were reasonable, drinks were nice and cold, and card payments were no problem. And the ice cream to go at the end was the icing on the cake 🍦. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the ice cream tastes like it came from a discount store. My husband had already written a review, but it was removed due to defamation. Apparently, the owner can't handle criticism. Here's what happened: we bought two scoops of ice cream in a cone. The scoops weren't pressed onto the cone, so one of them fell off immediately. Instead of offering a new scoop as a gesture of goodwill, they simply commented that there was no trash can. The ice cream is poorly chilled and tasteless. It melts in your hand after a few minutes. We will never eat ice cream there again.

The lasagna tasted like burnt plastic, and the waitress stared at you for 10 minutes before even serving you. Find another restaurant.

Unfortunately, our visit was a complete disaster. We had to get our menus ourselves after no one paid attention to us for 10 minutes. We ordered one bruschetta as a starter and two turkey fries and one tortellini for the main course. The bruschetta came with the main course, and only one turkey fries. The second portion arrived on a follow-up order. The meat wasn't cooked well and, after a complaint, was put back on the grill. The fries were then only lukewarm and soggy. The turkey wasn't turkey either, but chicken. The server seemed very overwhelmed, as other guests had also complained about their food. After I expressed my displeasure, all I got was a faint apology. Besides, the dish was too expensive at €19.50. It's a shame, but we won't be going back.

My order was taken with two others. While the others at least received their drinks, nothing happened for us. After a while, we were asked if we had already placed our order. We had to specify again what it was. Only then did the drinks arrive. The bruschetta, which we had ordered as an appetizer, came after the pizza and unfortunately, it didn't taste good at all. There was far too much olive oil, just like on my pizza, and it wasn't seasoned enough.

Finally had a good pizza again. The crust was wafer-thin, just as it should be.

Three of us were there on a Friday evening and sat outside on the terrace, which was still catching a bit of sun. The pizzas we ordered were delicious, but charging €1.60 for a hint of garlic is outrageous. The service was friendly, but not very attentive. Another beer we ordered never arrived. We also had to watch as an elderly, severely disabled couple was asked to leave because they were occupying a table for four. A little later, friends (presumably the waitress) were allowed to do so without any problem. Conclusion: A delicious pizza, but unfortunately, the rest of the food wasn't up to scratch for us.

This is the third time I've eaten here, and I've been impressed every time. The food is incredibly delicious, and the service is very friendly and attentive. They also cater to your every need. The location right on the promenade with a view of the Baltic Sea is the best part!

Very tasty pizza, right on the promenade and thus with a view of the sea. The only downside is the service. Unfortunately, it's more or less slow. Long wait times to pay. Not everyone can/is allowed to use the ATM. Currently, it seems like only one nice lady is there. However, she gave herself at least 30-45 minutes, even after repeated inquiries. It was very busy...

Pasta was very tasty and a good portion (see photo). The children's plate (spaghetti Bolognese) was also good. The pizza was okay in terms of size; unfortunately, it lacked some flavor (the tomato sauce in particular only tasted "tomatoey" without any seasoning). The Milanese schnitzel was unfortunately frozen; the salad was dry (took up half the plate). Fries were okay. The bruschetta, unfortunately, with no garlic and hardly any onions, wasn't convincing either, considering the price. The service seemed quite "foreign" and unfortunately understood very little of what we were trying to communicate. It's a shame; we can't agree with the previous reviews.

Delicious food with a great view. We had a salad and two pizzas...and everything was delicious, just as you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. The pizzas were well-topped and tasted really good. The salad with wild herbs was amazing. If we're ever in Kellenhusen again, we'd love to come back.

Well... first came the food, then the drinks. The pizza we ordered was good and tasty. The bruschetta was heavy on olive oil and had hardly any flavor; we definitely expected more for €9.50.

You have to be careful when paying by card. Otherwise, I wouldn't know why I was charged for two drinks when I only ordered one. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I got home.

We've been regulars here for years...but the day before yesterday at 7 p.m. we were absolutely horrified: as so often, we had our dog with us...and were asked to leave the restaurant immediately! DOGS ARE SUDDENLY NO LONGER ALLOWED, with the strange justification that dog hair would get into the food! They wanted to offer us an outside seat in temperatures of around 0 degrees Celsius!!! We'll never be seen here again. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that a new team apparently ran the restaurant yesterday? We used to always be welcome at the Senior, with and without dogs...what a shame! A year ago, I wrote here: Good food at fair prices, the pizza here is absolutely top-notch!!!

The food was delicious, but the staff were completely overwhelmed. We had to wait a very long time to place our order. The beer was unfortunately still carbonated, but nobody cared. We've been there three times and always had the same problem. It's a shame no one cared about us, even though we complained.

We just wanted to have two ice creams here. The waitress was completely overwhelmed with requests for changes (chocolate instead of strawberry). Naturally, they brought the wrong one. Our friendly reminder was met with unfriendly and annoyed responses. They did make the ice cream again, but we were clearly told that the waitress was at fault. Unfortunately, the ice cream wasn't tasty either. Paying didn't go smoothly either. In the end, I simply left the money on the counter for the man. We certainly won't be coming back.

Unfriendly team! They put extra cutlery on the table without asking and charge an extra €1.50 for it! Never again!

We ordered something to take away. We had pizza and pasta, and everything tasted okay, but nothing special. The only downside for us: the pizza boxes were pretty stuck to the pizza.

We've been coming here for our holidays for years. Unfortunately, the service is increasingly leaving much to be desired. The men's restroom is broken. Due to a lack of German, the staff doesn't even understand the dishes on their own menu. We won't be coming back for a while.

We were here for the first time today. I had a delicious salami pizza, and my wife had a fantastic cheese and sausage platter. The service was very attentive. Plus, there was a fantastic view of the Baltic Sea. The value for money was also good. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

The ice cream and cappuccino were very good. However, the toilets could do with a thorough cleaning, there are cobwebs and dirty corners everywhere. It's a shame, for me this is always a flagship for a restaurant and also an exclusion criterion if the cleanliness there is not right.

Only recommended. From the dough to the toppings, it's simply ultra delicious. Made one of our vacation days here on the Baltic Sea a little highlight. Super friendly staff who manage everything harmoniously in a calm yet quick manner. We will definitely come back here the next time we visit Kellenhusen

I can only recommend it 100%. Everything fits perfectly. Plus, the boss rides a Fireblade rr + r. You can't get much better than that. A really likeable guy.

Wir waren hier über Jahre immer wieder Stammgäste….aber gestern um 19 Uhr waren wir absolut entsetzt: wie so oft hatten wir unseren Hund dabei ….und wurden deswegen gebeten, das Restaurant sofort zu verlassen! HUNDE SIND PLÖTZLICH NICHT MEHR ERLAUBT, mit der fadenscheinigen Begründung, dass Hundehaare ins Essen gelangen würden! Man wollte uns bei ca. 0 Grad C einen Platz im Aussenbereich anbieten!!! Wir werden uns hier nie wieder blicken lassen. Vielleicht hat es damit zu tun, dass offenbar gestern ein relativ junges Paar das Restaurant führte? Beim Senior waren wir bisher immer willkommen..

The "Il Mio" is worth a visit at any time. Such magical hosts with excellent service, incredibly tasty dishes and at fair prices. Prime location right on the beach with views of the sea and the pier.

Unfortunately we weren't particularly happy. The pizzeria is of course beautifully located right on the promenade in Kellenhusen with a view of the sea, which we really liked. But there is criticism of the food we ordered. Our son had a salami pizza, which was quite ok, my husband ordered the spare ribs listed on the menu as approx. 400 g, but he only received 200 g at most, if at all. The approximately 15 fries had probably been ready for a while and had to wait for the spare ribs, which was tasty. My dish, spaghetti al limone, was listed on the menu as having, among other things, a cream and pea sauce. However, I looked for the peas in vain and asked a waitress about them who wanted to inquire in the kitchen but then didn't show up again. The whole dish was VERY lemony. Of course you expect a lemon note with "al limone" but the whole thing was just sour, I could have bitten into a lemon straight away. It's a shame, we definitely expected more after the many positive reviews.

We like to vacation in Kellenhusen in winter when it's not so crowded. Of course, almost all restaurateurs have a winter break, but to our great joy, IL MIO has always been open and we have never been disappointed. No matter whether it was a cappuccino in the afternoon to warm up after a walk on the beach, or one of the really good pizzas (thin dough, delicious toppings) in the evening, we were always satisfied. The service is friendly and attentive, we would be happy to come back.

The prices have increased significantly from last year to today. Service could be nicer or let's just say that when you ask something you shouldn't roll your eyes so that the customers can see it. You don't do that. The food was ok but nothing more. Alternatively, you can stop there.

A bit old and quite cramped in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. Our pizzas were so overloaded with vegetables that the bottom was completely soggy due to the juice escaping. The salad for the starter, on the other hand, was drowned in balsamic vinegar... In the past, there was olive oil and balsamic vinegar with the salad and everyone could dose it themselves. The food was served at such a speed that it was not possible to "enjoy the meal in peace"... Sorry, But there is still room for improvement... It was definitely better there before.

We had dinner there on Tuesday evening. A small, cozy restaurant with a view of the sea. We decided on 2 pizzas. These arrived and the feasting could begin. Very big and the taste even bigger. It's been a long time since I've had such a tasty pizza! Flat dough and very well topped.A pleasure!5☆ for it!!!From the outside it looks quite inconspicuous at first glance, but then it turns out to be an insider tip:) And because it was so nice, again the next day! We were there on Friday evening to have dinner. Unfortunately we waited a long time for service. The food came very quickly and was very tasty. At first there were two of us and as the evening progressed we became three. Instead of asking the person coming in if she wanted something to drink or eat, she was asked if she wanted to pay the bill. The table began to be cleared without a word, although my wife still had something to eat on her plate... Luckily she had already finished eating. The food was great and we will therefore give the pizzeria another chance. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. ----------------------------------------------- On Saturday afternoon we gave the pizzeria another chance. This time we were served more quickly and the service was significantly better than the last time we visited. Unfortunately I have something to complain about this time too... Unfortunately, of the three dishes we ordered, only one was correct. We asked for one dish to be prepared without mushrooms, but unfortunately this didn't work. However, before serving we were asked whether it was an intolerance so that we could be served an alternative if necessary. The other dish was prepared completely incorrectly. This time too the food was great. We don't know yet whether we will go there again.

I can highly recommend this place. The employees are very friendly and relaxed, and the waiting time is not very long. Everything is very clean and well-kept here, and the prices are ok too. You can sit and eat here very well outside or inside. Toilets 🚽 are available.

Hello, unfortunately a failure......far from Italian food culture. The Bolognese was sweet and atypical, the supposed Parmesan cheese lacked the Parmesan flavor and was reminiscent of shaved plastic. Even the huge amounts of rocket leaves couldn't make up for that. Italian cuisine requires original Italian cooking. Unfortunately, the Spaghetti Gorgonzola also lacked the Gorgonzola flavor; instead, the spaghetti was swimming in a cream sauce. However, it was very accommodating that we didn't have to pay for the so-called Bolognese. Thank you Mustafa Aglamaz

Wir als Familie können uns nicht beschweren. Das Eis ist sehr lecker. Die Pizza sind sehr groß, gut belegt und auch sehr lecker. Auch bei der Pasta können wir uns nicht beschweren. Sehr lecker alles und preis Leistung auch sehr gut.

The pizza was really tasty!! Not the usual pizza that was being served in Germany which is always too soft. The pizza dough was very crispy and thin which a good pizza should be! The restaurant was so full and guests come and go non stop but the staff were always serving with a smiling faces ( which is not so often in Germany). It would be nicer if the table could be a bit better. But nevertheless I highly recommend it.

Wir waren jetzt 2x in diesem Urlaub zum Essen im Il Mio,, und wir müssen leider feststellen, dass sich vieles gegenüber dem letzten Jahr verschlechtert hat. Die Preise sind zwar im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Restaurants hier im Ort kaum angehoben worden, aber der Service und das Essen ist verbesserungswürdig! Kaum jemand vom Personal kann Deutsch oder versteht nur das Nötigste. Das fängt bei der Bestellung an, wo Nachfragen an die Chefin (?) weitergegeben werden müssen und zieht sich bis zur Bezahlung, wo es zum Problem wird, wenn man getrennt zahlen möchte. Die Pizza ist mittlerweile viel zu dünn und eher ein brüchiger Flammkuchen. Das war definitiv vorher besser. Die Pasta beim 2. Besuch war aber i.O. .Dafür bekommt man fast lauwarmes Bier bzw. Radler, was bei 25 Grad nicht schön ist. Es herrscht zwar leider überall Personalmangel, aber das Il Mio hat damit scheinbar schwer zu kämpfen. Da hilft es nur wenig, wenn anders als nei vielen Restaurants im Ort hier kein Ruhetag eingelegt wird. Positiv ist aber anzumerken, dass beim Eis nichts zu bemängeln ist. Für 1,80 pro (große) Kugel bekommt man aber auch wirklich leckeres Eis!

Den Laden kann man vergessen! Wir hab reserviert, unsere Buchung wurde schriftlich festgehalten. Am Abend 15 Minuten vor unserem Termin waren wir bereits vor Ort und wurden stehen gelassen. Alle Tische frisch vergeben. Wir sprachen drei mal die Personen vor Ort an, keiner zeigte auch bloß das geringste Interesse sich uns anzunehmen. Geil aufs Geld und unseren Tisch fremdvergeben. Es gibt viele andere Restaurants meidet dieses!

Location, service and ambience are significantly better than the food. The pizza was a complete failure, so I'd rather stick with the good old frozen pizza! The tomato sauce on the tonno was way too sweet and it had no seasoning… The pizza with anchovies was disappointing. The Pizza Haus in Neustadt is much better and they have a real stone oven!

A great restaurant with attention to detail. The team is warm and the food is always on point. The pizzas are fantastic and the ice cream is always worth a visit anyway. Requests and suggestions are taken into account and whether meat dishes or vegetarian dishes, everything and everyone is catered for. Feel good guaranteed! Big praise to the entire team.
