Super👌 best restaurant in Kellenhusen. Very friendly staff

We've been coming here for years, but today we weren't wanted. We waited about 30 minutes while other guests were served. Then we politely asked for the menus at the counter and were allowed to take them from the pile. But don't think anyone would want to serve us. We had to wait a long time again before our attempts to make contact were finally acknowledged. The food was okay; a salad with 5 shrimp for €26 is quite a lot, but what can you get cheaper? It's a shame that the online menu is outdated; someone with allergies could choose something beforehand and then be overwhelmed when they see the menu in the restaurant. We hope that the next time we're in Kellenhusen, we'll have that same feeling of well-being we used to have.

First of all: The staff is very friendly and the food was very good. But the organization is a disaster. We waited over an hour for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. At first, one person was skipped when ordering drinks, but we were able to rectify that. The food then arrived (for six people) in two portions, 15 minutes apart (I haven't experienced that in a long time; we didn't order complicated dishes). Unfortunately, one main course was completely forgotten. It was also a children's plate, which led to great frustration. Considering our experiences up to that point, however, we decided not to have it prepared, because at some point, you just want to go home. The other two children were so supportive and shared, so no one was hungry.

We ate Kumpir and were completely satisfied. The prices were reasonable and the service was very friendly.

The restaurant is located in the middle of the Kellenhusen promenade and has a small indoor and larger outdoor area. You sit comfortably and have a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. The menu is extensive and the offerings are well thought out. We wanted to have a little drink and eat at lunchtime. I had a craving for ice cream, which I couldn't order from the waiter and had to go indoors. Two waiters tried to fulfill my wishes, but unfortunately neither of them could understand me. At one point I got 4 balls for €2 each, which were really tiny. Drinks were ordered: a Caipirinha (hardly any alcohol, no cane sugar), two Aparol Spritz (no sparkling wine). There was very little ice cream but it was tasty, everything else was bad. One star for the view and one for the taste of the ice cream. I wouldn't not go there again

Went here for the first time at lunchtime today with children. We sat inside, very friendly welcome, then we get freshly baked bread from the house, and the food was very tasty, service was very, very friendly, competent and attentive and the children were very happy, we would like to come back, recommended 👌👌

Not recommended……the waiters were totally overwhelmed. Sometimes they didn't know where the food was coming from. After waiting half an hour to at least order our drinks, we left.

Unfortunately, a big disappointment... We reserved a table online in advance, which was apparently not noted when we arrived. Nevertheless, a member of staff kindly accompanied us to a free table. He pointed out to us in advance that our food order might take a little longer because there were two larger parties present at the time. Our drinks would be picked up and brought straight away. At first we were pleasantly surprised, as it is not a given to receive such information. When we received the menus we were surprised for the second time because the dishes differed greatly from the online menu. So far so good - no problem. But instead of taking our drinks, the waiter left our table and didn't come back for a little over half an hour. In the meantime, after we saw how overwhelmed the food distribution staff were and how we were ignored, we left the restaurant disappointed and hungry. Our departure was also not noticed. Even though we unfortunately couldn't test the quality of the food and drinks, we will avoid this restaurant in the future.

Absolutely not recommended. Completely overwhelmed on holidays. The two of us sat there for ages with our 2.5 year old son, who was looking forward to a portion of fries, and saw other tables coming, eating(!) and leaving. It's not that we didn't draw attention to ourselves several times, but somehow they didn't manage to do it. We ended up leaving without eating.

Delicious food, freshly prepared and friendly service! We'll come back when we're in Kellenhusen. :)

Nachdem Gäste an drei anderen Tischen , die alle nach uns gekommen sind schon ihre Getränke bekommen haben und wir noch nicht einmal die Speisekarte sind wir nach weiteren 5 Minuten gegangen. Ich vestehe das Restaurankonzept nicht, wenn man Gäste, die Essen und Trinken wollen 20 Minuten komplett ignoriert.

Highly recommended! The service is very friendly and attentive, the furnishings are nice and modern, and the waiting time is also completely acceptable. The quality of the food is great, we were all very satisfied. Highlights are the Merguez and the corn-fed poularde. Gladly again at any time

Maybe it was because the new year had just started and many guests had left, but I still don't like waiting forever for a waiter. The waiter was wearing a wrinkled, stained shirt, especially since it was only 1 p.m. The flowers on the tables had long since passed away, the candles had long since gone up in smoke (sometimes less is more, at least putting them away helps) and our little meal was somehow quite expensive. One ! ! Waffle with cherries, not even cream or a scoop of ice cream, no! and a small cup of coffee, two of which were totally inadequate for 21 euros. No matter what others think about it. I also come from the catering industry, but the look has to be right and sensible recommendations and the warmth...we had the feeling that we were disturbing the beautiful peace and quiet. So I was disappointed. I will also spend my money elsewhere during the season. The toilets should also be cleaned, especially the floor.

A great location right on the beach promenade, nice and modern furnishings. The service is absolutely great. It's rare to experience so much friendliness these days. The food was absolutely excellent. All in all, it is a great ambience and a restaurant where you can feel good and indulge in culinary delights. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We were there for coffee and cake, the staff was super friendly and helpful at the entrance, the wheelchair didn't want to go up the ramp, otherwise everything was easily accessible, waffles and cake were very tasty

We were there for dinner. The service was super pleasant and attentive. The restaurant is very modern inside and is reminiscent of beach bars in Holland in style. The food was super tasty. We had pulpo as a starter and lamb as our main course. Absolutely recommended! We would love to come back.

We recently went to the restaurant “La Chance” in Kellenhusen. For me as a vegetarian, this seemed like a suitable choice and it proved to be true. It's nice that a few restaurants are open in November. The starters were very tasty and the selection of drinks was large. For the main course we each had a baked potato which was really beautifully prepared and it left us very full. After the starters we were already full, but you never know that beforehand. Finally: the service was extremely attentive, asked several times about our well-being and always tried to ensure that our visit to the restaurant was enjoyable for us. We'd love to come back, thank you very much

Such wonderful oriental cuisine.

Very friendly, cozy atmosphere with a view of the promenade and the pier. The pizza (Diavola and Tonno from my wife) was fantastic. I haven't eaten such delicious pizza in a long time. The restaurant is dog friendly which I think is great. However, we didn't have a dog with us.

I had the pleasure of visiting this Mediterranean restaurant right on the seafront promenade. The first impression was overwhelming: a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and a breathtaking view of the sea. The starter was delicious and the main course kofta were superbly prepared - juicy and full of flavour. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A perfect place to enjoy the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

A great restaurant. Competent and friendly animal and child-friendly staff and really very good cuisine. Delicious drinks, ice cream and cakes. Big plus for a top barrier-free entrance, restaurant rooms and toilet facilities. Every guest spends a good time here. I will always be happy to come back here.

I've been coming here for years. The restaurant is ideal for the beach. There is an outdoor restaurant and an indoor area with an ice cream parlor. The ambience inside is bright and maritime-themed. Both areas have a great view of the open sea. The service staff is very friendly, attentive and child-friendly. The food is great and I think the price-performance ratio is okay. I only deduct one point because the menu is relatively manageable, but I still found something so that's a high level of complaining 😅

In the last 12 years we have always been here at least 2-3 times/holiday, sometimes even 2 times/day. Here you could either eat waffles and cake, drink a cocktail, have a snack in between, or have a rich and varied dinner. It was always very full every day, at all times, and getting a spot on the beloved sun terrace or inside often proved difficult. Yesterday we witnessed 3 reserved tables leaving without ordering and we were also disappointed. Today it was shockingly emptier all day than usual - what happened? Why the map change? Own creations are always beautiful and desirable, but unfortunately the connection to the region has been lost too much! Absolutely unsuitable for children (spices on fries too hot?) Service, musical atmosphere, cleanliness and quality unchanged! "Never change a winning team!" Next year will show whether it holds up; under current circumstances, it could become difficult, at the latest with the opening of a new crowd puller. Too bad!

Delicious food and super nice service

A very nice restaurant that also invites you to eat alone. I met wonderful people there and quickly made contacts. The hospitality was brilliant. The waiters were very attentive and really spoiled us. To top it all off, there was a super delicious schnapps as a gift. Thank you for this wonderful afternoon, which ended in an even more beautiful evening. Overlooking the sea where the sun was setting. ☺️ Thanks to the wonderful waiters Tino, Raffael and Oni who pampered us in a very friendly manner. Because of their friendly nature, they are absolutely the flagship of the restaurant.

Although we have been regularly spending our summer holidays in Kellenhusen for several years, this year we went to La Chance for the first time. The menu offers, among other things, very interesting oriental mezze and some selected oriental main dishes. The portions are generous and the food tastes great. Highly recommended is the oriental starters, which can also be prepared vegetarian. Finally, the warm chocolate cake with ice cream is an absolute dream. We liked it here so much and enjoyed it so much that we went to La Chance several times during our holiday week and will definitely come back next year. Finally, I would like to emphasize one more thing: The service at La Chance is perfect. We have rarely experienced such a good-humoured, polite and charming waiter as in this restaurant! Absolutely recommended!

5.0 points for “La Chance by the Sea”! Six of us ate there (4 adults and two children) and were greeted very friendly and asked whether we would prefer to sit outside or inside. The drinks were all very tasty (especially the homemade iced tea is recommended) and were served quickly. We only had to wait a few more minutes for the main courses. We ordered pizza & fries (for the kids), baked potatoes and surf'n'turf across the menu and everything was excellent! The Surf'n'Turf, consisting of lamb fillet and prawns, was fried to perfection and with the truffled mashed potatoes and other side dishes it was a dream!!! We were happy to pay a little more for this because the quality and preparation were 100% right! Many thanks to the “La Chance am Meer Team” for the delicious delicacies! We'd love to come back!

We've often eaten very well at La Chance and today we celebrated our birthday there with 8 guests - it was lovingly decorated, with a surprise at the end and great food! The service was totally attentive and courteous, even extra requests were fulfilled quickly and happily. We are totally thrilled! Exceptional menu for the region, perfect holiday feeling - really great!! Thank you for the great evening🙏

The changes made from 2023 to 2024 have been very good for the restaurant. By far the best food on the promenade (and something different, especially compared to all the "beach promenade standards"). In terms of price, it's just beach promenade - but here you also have the feeling that you're getting value for money.

Just class. The menu has something for everyone. Whether vegan or lamb, it tastes good and the prices are reasonable. A nice greeting to the kitchen :)

Ein super herzliches Team und ein freundlicher Chef empfangen einen. Das Essen ist gut, die Atmosphäre stimmt. Wenn die Terrasse voll ist, man trotzdem draußen sitzen mag, wird sich um eine Lösung sehr bemüht und ein Tisch noch herangebracht. Erzogene Hunde (man möchte ja in keinem Lokal mit einem kläffenden Hund sitzen) sind herzlich willkommen.

We were warmly welcomed at the entrance with our children and four-legged friends. Very friendly waiters who responded very lovingly to the children's wishes in a relaxed manner. In wonderful weather, we ate the delicious food in the outdoor area with a view of the sea. For dessert, the children went with the waiter to choose their favorite ice cream. This restaurant is really great. Everything is alright. The way the food is prepared is how it tastes, simply great. The service is very nice and accommodating. The ambience fits the whole thing.

We had dinner at La Chance today. We were given the warmest welcome. We got a nice place with a view of the Baltic Sea. The service was attentive, super friendly and concerned about our well-being... But the food itself was a complete disaster. The currywurst was cold, the salad probably came from a bag with lots of wilted leaves and the fries and also the kofta were dripping with fat. Everything probably just came out of the deep fryer jaggedly. What a shame, the rest was true, but what really mattered was the food! Didn't work at all!!!

The food was edible, but unfortunately that was it. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is simply not right. There are cheaper and better alternatives to eating out around the corner. The ambience outside was nice, but that's not difficult to achieve given the location.

Food overpriced instead of cod fillet strips you get fish nuggets for 16.90 a bit expensive. The salad for 12.90 also lacks a bit of pizzazz and is swimming in oil.

On Friday, before departure, we once again enjoyed the ambience and the perfect service of La Chance by the sea. As always (we were there for the 5th time), the food was very good. Particularly worthy of mention are the two waitresses, Raffael and Timo. Who are always in a good mood and motivated.

We were in Kellenhusen for the first time. La Chance by the sea impresses with its friendly and committed staff. Always a “smile” on your lips. Perfect service with very good food. The ambience impresses with its cleanliness and well-selected music in the background. La Chance by the sea is a MUST for every holidaymaker. Raffael and Timo are the heart of La Chance by the sea.

4 out of 5 stars for the ambience because you could theoretically sit on the beach in Hawaii. ;) We came here for pizza and we were blown away. This was the best restaurant visit in several years. Such a level of politeness, friendliness, charm, competence, speed and food quality has become a sought-after rarity in Germany and in our opinion this restaurant is unparalleled in this respect. We live 150km away and every visit to the Baltic Sea now, we think, inevitably leads past this restaurant. Thank you for this experience and keep having fun with your work. :)

Unfortunately the food arrived cold, even though it was only a 5 minute drive away! Pizza was pretty sparsely topped for the money, but I didn't try it again! Delivery time was great!

A must when traveling in Kellenhusen. You are very welcome as a guest. Skillfully tapped Holsten, very tasty freshly prepared food with a view of the sea completes the perfect stay. Timo, one of the waiters at LA CHANCE ensures a personal feeling of well-being. When you walk towards the promenade you immediately want to turn right into LA CHANCE. Thank you for the great time.

We were there last night and absolutely loved it! We initially sat in the beer garden and later moved to the restaurant because it started to rain. Timo knew how to round off our first day of vacation perfectly. He is funny, attentive, not pushy and was in a really good mood! Thank you for this great first evening in Kellenhusen!!

Update 2024: Extremely friendly and helpful service, we were very satisfied! A few new dishes, but I stick with the La Chance salad with shrimp, which consists of several lettuces (not just cheap iceberg like some others) 2023: One of our favorite places right on the beach promenade for years. Apart from the delicious food as usual, there were new tables and chairs that we really liked. We would be happy to come back, our dogs are also welcome 😊

We were there and I have to say, I'm thrilled. The service was great. Immediately greeted in a friendly manner, and of interest to dog lovers. Dogs are allowed. The ambience is very well done. The music in the background is just right in terms of volume. The waiters brought our dog a water bowl themselves. The portions were really good. See pictures. The fish platter for 1 person (lots of choice) fish was tender and as it should be. My pizza with shrimp was super fluffy and spread out nice big shrimp. The homemade iced tea was sweet and very fruity. I can only recommend that you drive past there, take a stop and enjoy not only the view but also the delicious food.
