Pizzeria Da Carmelo in Bad Steben

We spontaneously visited the restaurant after a trip to the thermal baths. The food was delicious and the service exceptionally attentive. We hadn't experienced that in a long time. Thumbs up all around, we'll be back.

We were there for dinner yesterday; we started with mussels and bruschetta. The pizzas could be customized! Excellent service and superb food! Thank you for your hospitality 🍷🍕

This was my third time at Pizzeria Da Carmelo, and as always, it was very busy – making a table reservation in the evening is definitely recommended. This time, I ordered a steak with fried onions, fries, and salad. The taste was simply amazing! The fried onions were amazing; everything went together perfectly. I'm really impressed and can only recommend Pizzeria Da Carmelo. Kudos to the kitchen – my steak was excellent again! Keep it up! The team is also super friendly; everything is just perfect. I give it 100 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! For dessert, I had pistachio ice cream, which was also very delicious 🤌🏼 I'd love to come back – come by and enjoy!

Affordable, delicious food. You can order anything there. From schnitzel to pizza. You can choose from different types of pizza: small and large, all baked on stone. The selection is enormous, and the service is fast. We initially received the wrong pizza, but they apologized profusely and immediately made a new one. Great service.

The food was excellent & the service was great

The food there is terrible! I ordered a pizza and it was inedible! Then we had a veal schnitzel, which I could tell was pork! They didn't even ask for dressing with the salad, so there was none! I complained, and they still demanded the full price, even though I said I wasn't paying for the pizza. We shouldn't, we shouldn't, so we shouldn't again. We'll be back! I highly recommend that no one eat there!

Great pizzeria with great offers and selection....highly recommended

Each medium pizza costs €10.50. Not bad at first. Unfortunately, the plate was cold, so the pizza base was condensed and soggy. The rest of the base was crackly. The ingredients, especially the salami, were cheap. Other dishes looked good and probably tasted good too. Service was attentive. I didn't like the pizza. Nevertheless, I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. Prices are okay.

Why am I giving it a full 5 stars? It's simply a coherent overall concept. I had the chanterelle mushroom pizza from the weekly menu. The homemade tomato sauce was perfectly seasoned. The dough was good. You could tell it was from a stone oven. The service was truly spot on. Timely, responsive, and even though I only had a pizza and a drink, I received a shot of schnapps on the house. The interior is showing its age. The decor, however, was very harmonious. Overall, everything was in line with the price and quality. I'd be happy to come back.

Excellent food, outstanding service. A vegetarian lasagna was spontaneously prepared for our daughter, which was second to none. Our dog accidentally caused a spill (knocking over his water bowl), but the spill was quickly and understandingly cleaned up. Excellent food, excellent staff, good prices – highly recommended.

Die Calamari marinara ...Das war nicht einfach Tomatensauce etc. Sondern ein Gedicht. Echtes Slowfood...ich liess Es mir auch auf der Zunge zergehen und war danach "körperlich satt " und glücklich. Dazu werden Einem Alle Wünsche von den Augen abgelesen und man kümmert sich hervorragend um extra Schärfe. Überhaupt ein authentischer,herzlicher Service. Der Besitzer schätzt leckeres Essen und gutes Handwerk in der Küche. Vielen Dank an Euch Alle, die mitgewirkt haben.

Very tasty food. I had the pizza special, cooked in a wood-fired oven. The taste was excellent. Unfortunately, it took a while for the bill to arrive.

Great pizza. It empties out after 7 p.m., and you can get a table even without a reservation.

Classic German-Italian cuisine. Of the three pizzerias in town, this is definitely the one with the best service. The pasta was also perfect. Simple, solid dishes, very well prepared.

I simply recommend eating there (with a reservation). The food is simply delicious, no matter what we've eaten so far, and the ambiance is also very nice. Without a reservation, it's probably difficult to get a table. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right. The service is fast and friendly.

We (2 adults) recently had dinner at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly and tried hard, the drinks were very good and came quickly after ordering. THEN came the pizzas. We ordered 2 baked on stone and cut. There is still a lot of room for improvement with cutting. When it came to the pizzas, we had the impression that they were just next to the stone oven Zero crispy, very light (we've never experienced anything like this before) You could just about eat the things. Surface was o.K. When the waiter came to clear away and asked if everything was OK, and I told him about the pale pizzas, he said whether they were still raw!?!?

The food was of outstanding quality, we haven't had such good food in a long time. Both the soup and the bruschetta as a starter were excellent, and the pizza as the main course clearly exceeded our expectations. The service was extremely friendly and efficient. As a special “hostess gift” we also received a liqueur on the house. We recommend this pizzeria without reservation and will be happy to come back. It's a shame that there are only 5 stars to give.

A typical Italian Ristorante, not just a pizzeria! Cozy atmosphere, super nice staff and delicious food. We had rum steak and lamb, both of which we enjoyed very much. The meat was cooked to perfection. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Bad Steben!

The Pizzeria Da Carmelo is a real insider tip. The dough is simply perfect, the toppings are fresh and the selection is huge. Here you can taste the passion for pizza in every bite. Top! Whether pizza, pasta, meat dishes or salad, everything tastes good. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is super friendly, the boss himself also serves and ensures a cozy atmosphere. The order was taken quickly, after a reasonable amount of time - good things take a while - we started with the starter. Carpaccio, very tasty!!! Main course rump steak medium, was cooked to perfection, and not just for me. We'll be back! Thank you👍

Delicious food, good service, pleasant atmosphere

I had someone bring me a supposed stone oven pizza for a whopping 12.50. Ham, mushrooms. Absolute failure. Carelessly topped, 5 cm edge, hardly any toppings, canned mushrooms, probably analogue cheese... Taste to forget. Stone oven? I have a pizza oven at home, G3 Ferrari, so I make pizza myself from time to time. This is a stone oven and that's why I can taste the difference. That's why I'm convinced: THAT wasn't a stone oven pizza! For the price???? This “pizzeria” won’t see me again. And I was a regular customer at “Toni”...

This restaurant tries to pretend to be a premium place, which it definitely is not. We were told to wait outside the premises for 15 minutes for a table. After entering the room, it turned out that several tables were free and there were no reservations. Kitchen for show. Everything looks beautiful but the quality is poor. Onion soup is a bowl filled with bread with a few spoons of soup. Covered with toast with cheap cheese and heated in the microwave. The steak was served midi, great - but the poor meat made it chewy and rubbery. The nail in the coffin of this place should be the PORK carpaccio!!! This is how we were served raw pigs. Not only is this a scam, it is dangerous. The service is very nice, apart from the boss who was not nice to both guests and employees.

The food and service were again very good, the waitresses and the boss were always friendly, and at the end there was always a schnapps on the house. Will definitely come back.

It was a disappointment... We went there due to the many good reviews... It is adverised as an Italian restaurant...we tried pizza and steaks. Let's start with pizza... it is an Italian restaurant and the pizza is not good in any term... They could choose between different styles... The originals Neapolitan, Roman, Bari style or even the not so originals New York or Chicago styles...but no they choose to make a pizza with fair quality toppings BUT for a base (which is one of the most important part of pizza) they had something like a tortilla or something like this completely inappropriate for pizza at an Italian restaurant. 0 out of 5 due to this. Steak... we tried two different recipes of rump steak...both bad...really bad in quality, taste and cooking...who covers a rump steak with minced beef... The food was so heavy and probably low quality that it did not stay at my stomach for long... Prices average for the area... Really wondering for the so many good reviews...!!! The service was good and attentive...the decor was ok... To the owners please put some effort to improve your recipes...

Went there for my dad's birthday and it's a really good restaurant. I explicitly say restaurant because I can't just eat pizza here, I can also get everything from pasta dishes to meat (beef and pork) to fish. Food: came quickly and, above all, everything together (which is very important to me) - was also very tasty. As I said, the selection is very large. Ambience: It's still like "back in the day" (not the most modern) but still really ok. Service: The waiters are really very nice, accommodating and were prompt, only one was a bit confused. Definitely recommended. I don't give 5 stars because these are really outstanding restaurants.

This pizzeria is very cozy, although furnished in a somewhat old-fashioned way. The service is great. The pasta dishes taste great. You have to make compromises when it comes to pizza. The dough tastes as if it was made from a pre-baked piece of dough. Everything is clean.

Although it was already busy and tables were reserved, they still found a place for us at Da Carmelo. The menu is varied and the prices are cheap. Our order was taken quickly and the drinks were in front of us in no time. The food, a pizza and a devil's schnitzel, were also served quickly and it tasted simply heavenly. We have never been asked as often as in this restaurant whether everything was OK. The service is super attentive and despite there being a lot of customers, they always have a minute to chat. Thank you for a nice evening, we'll definitely see each other again.

As we often do, we ordered take-away and once again the onions and garlic we ordered were missing from the pizza. This is now the fourth time in a very short space of time that this has happened and it's really starting to get annoying. Unfortunately, that only makes the pizza half as good. On top of that, you paid for it even though it wasn't even on the pizza. It's a real shame, we used to love going there but somehow the pizzeria has been declining little by little since the ownership changed.

We came spontaneously and luckily got a table. Without a reservation it was probably difficult that day. We ordered pizza. I was in the mood for a classic Margherita. My other half had prosciutto with arugula. My pizza was without mozzarella but with Gouda. An Italian would see this as an insult to honor. I just didn't find it tasty. The prosciutto on the other pizza was more like cooked ham. He didn't have a long time in the air. The portion on the pizza is plenty. The pizzas were ordered as stone oven versions, but never saw a stone. The dough was bland and boring. Overall, the service and customer focus at the table are convincing. The structure and organization appear very professional. We really liked that! It was a mystery to us why savings were made on the product, the (qualitative rather than quantitative) use of goods and processing. There is a lot of potential on the road here. The wine was great!

Were there on a Monday during the summer holidays. The restaurant was very busy, but we (2 adults and a child) still managed to get a table despite the fact that we would have to wait longer. Despite the large number of guests, our order was taken quickly and the drinks and food also came quickly. The food was really very tasty. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. People always asked if everything was still okay or if you wanted something to drink. I left my cell phone behind as I walked and it was brought to me afterward. So service really is a 10/10!

65€ for 4 drinks 2 starters and 2 main courses. Food was really tasty. One waiter is great, the others need to be even more attentive. Ordering took too long, other tables had already received their food and we hadn't ordered yet. And asking for a drink every now and then when it's empty would have been great. We also waited quite a long time to pay.

Great pizza dough. Service could be a bit more attentive in some cases, but everything is still ok.

Pizza 🍕 and lasagna were very good. We were there with a dog and this wasn't a problem. There are few parking spaces at the house, but there are enough around the corner 100m away. The service was very friendly and special orders for pizza were also made without any problems.

The seavice here was very nice. The ambience was also OK. The food, I had pizza, was unfortunately not that great but was probably quite OK for this corner. My expectations were probably too high based on the many positive reviews. It doesn't have much to do with Italian pizza, but we were full. But won't be coming back.
