Piratennest

The two of us ate the fish platter here. It was generously loaded with all kinds of fish, shrimp, and fried potatoes. It also came with a good cucumber salad and two different sauces. While the fried potatoes, fish, and cucumber salad were excellent, the sauces were unfortunately a bit lacking. Both had the same base (presumably hollandaise) and tasted notoriously bland. The fish platter also came with a generous amount of undressed salad dressing. We dressed it up with the dressing from the cucumber salad. Tip: Either leave it out or marinate it thoroughly with dressing. The service was good and friendly. It's worth mentioning that our requests were taken into account when making the reservation.

Wir haben hier zu zweit die Fischplatte gegessen. Dies war üppig mit allerlei Fisch, Garnelen und Bratkartoffeln bestückt. Dazu gab es noch einen guten Gurkensalat und zweierlei Soßen. Während Bratkartoffeln, Fisch und Gurkensalat super waren, fielen die Soßen leider ein wenig ab. Beide hatten die selbe Basis (vermutlich Hollandaise) und schmeckten bekannt belanglos. Dazu gab es auf der Fischplatte üppig unangemachte Salatadeko. Wir haben sie uns dann mit dem Dressing des Gurkensalat angemacht. Tipp: Entweder weglassen oder ordentlich mit Dressing marinieren. Der Service war gut und freundlich. Hervorzuheben ist, dass unsere Wünsche bei der Reservierung berücksichtigt wurden.

Mein Mann und ich sind wieder einmal für zwei Wochen auf der Insel. Wie im November 2024 und den Vorjahren waren wir im Piratennest. Die Bedienung erkannte uns sofort wieder und wusste auch was wir bestellen wollten. Mein Mann aß den Grünkohl mit sehr viel Schweinefleisch und ich die Kartoffel mit Schmand. Dazu natürlich meinen geliebten Gurkensalat. Auch beim nächsten Mal werden wir uns wieder verwöhnen lassen.

The reception was great, the food was delicious and the portions were more than sufficient. The service is particularly noteworthy. The young woman was really on the ball and friendly with a nice saying on her lips. The later drinks were also served quickly. We felt very comfortable and had a lovely evening. Despite the off-off season, the restaurant is open and offers the full program. We ate perfectly here with three generations, everything was well prepared and lovingly presented. The portions were generous. Plus attentive and friendly service, it couldn't be better. No wonder the store was so busy.

The last time we were in this race was 10 years ago! Totally great! Yesterday we were there again, everything was relaxed, delicious, etc., until then when I wanted to order another Aperol Spritzz! The internet says that the Pirate Nest closes at 9 p.m., so I thought I could order something to drink at 8:10! Pustekuchen, I was told that they would close in 20 minutes! HALLLLLLOOOOOOO, is there a time difference on the island that I missed??? We paid 98 euros for 2 people, and then there's no time to make another drink?? The staff just stood there the whole time and chatted. If they had at least cleaned or done something else useful, it would have been ok, but not like that! I come from the catering industry myself and I wouldn't have wasted my tip so carelessly! Oh well, of course I don't believe that the other guests left the restaurant at 8.30 p.m., but whatever, I thought it was a shame and that's why I won't be going there again! Katrina and Thomas

Gladly again. Good food, nice and friendly service, and not a huge bill at the end. It's best to make a reservation as it's very popular.

Not like it was years ago, for example the wok vegetables are soaked in oil and the ambience is no longer as cozy. Furthermore, you have the feeling that there are more four-legged friends than people. People who are allergic to dogs should avoid the restaurant.

Absolute recommendation. Very attentive, super nice and relaxed people who work there. Best service, best food. From plaice and Labskaus to Kaiserschmarrn, everything was very good. I would like to thank the team for two nice evenings and will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, the penne with rump steak strips in cream sauce that we ordered was not edible. The rump steak strips were very tough and the sauce was unfortunately not a cream sauce but a cheese sauce. Unfortunately, little consideration is given to intolerances and the waiter was not very interested in why it wasn't eaten and didn't ask whether it was or was tasty. To charge another €25 for this impudence is a real shame. Three days earlier we had a very different experience with a waitress and two other dishes. The non-alcoholic punch was unfortunately delivered with a shot without asking. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned on the menu or by the waiter. Price/performance can definitely be improved here.

For us, the Pirate's Nest is our restaurant on the day of arrival. The food, we have tried many dishes, is always a 5 star rating. Service and ambience simply perfect. A clear recommendation for us, price-performance ratio is perfect.

Die Bedienung ist freundlich und das Essen und Trinken wird schnell serviert. Die Bewertung geht nach unten, weil das Essen nicht so toll war. Ich habe Backfisch mit Pommes bestellt. Die Pommes waren super, jedoch der Backfisch war nicht so toll. Das Öl in dem der Backfisch frittiert wurde roch nicht mehr ganz frisch. Ich habe jedoch keine Szene von gemacht, jedoch hat es ein Kellner mitbekommen und hat sich entschuldigt und ein Getränkt auf Kosten des Hauses angeboten, was ich annahm. Dann kam der zweite Kellner ist Spiel. Er sagte es sei alles in Ordnung und nichts gab es zu Trinken. Was mir auch egal war, denn wenn ich was trinken möchte kann ich es mir auch kaufen. Ich finden nur, man kann auf die Gäste eingehen und nicht nur sage das Öl ist frisch und gut ist.

Moin, Auf Grund guter Empfehlungen sind wir mittags zum Essen hin.Da es ein besonderer Anlass war, wählten wir die Fischplatte für zwei. Die verschiedenen Fischfilets wurden auf einer Platte serviert. Die Bratkartoffeln allerdings lagen unter dem sehr fetten Fisch, weswegen diese nur matschig und wenig gebraten waren,. Dazwischen befanden sich Speckwürfel die waren schwarz. Der Gurkensalat war wohl aus dem Eimer. Auch bei der Bestellung der Getränke hatten wir kein Glück. Das bestellte alkoholfreie Hefeweizen entpuppte sich als alkoholfreies Pils. Und zum Schluss viel bezahlt, was uns am meisten geärgert hat.

Suuuuuuuuuper lecker und klasse, freundlicher Sevice wie immer 🤩🤩🤩 eine echt tolle alternative zum Gosch und man wird satt für einen ordentlichen Euro. Gerne immer wieder…👍👍👍

Really great! Both the service and the food are excellent. I can especially recommend the “fiery fish pan” - simply delicious.

We (the two of us) spontaneously wanted to go out for dinner here, unfortunately everything inside was reserved, but we were allowed to sit in the winter garden, looked for a place under the heater and wrapped ourselves in blankets. The waitress came out and invited us in because other guests had canceled. We didn't need to be told twice, even though it wasn't too cold in the winter garden, and took a seat inside. Our schnitzels were really tasty! We then had the second drink in the winter garden. For us it was a nice end to our Sylt holiday and we will rave about the attention of the service staff here for a long time, we rarely find such attention anymore. Keep it up 🙂.

I think the pirate nest is overrated. I've been here several times and it doesn't really convince me. Schnitzel was okay but clearly frozen, the mixed salad consisted of cheap ready-made mix, decorated with a pale piece of tomato and two slices of cucumber, with some dried baguette bread. The potato soup was terribly bad (tasted sour and consisted of clear broth with a few potato cubes floating in it). The gratinated vegetable pan contained vegetables that were undercooked and was incredibly greasy. The fiery fish pan tasted good (but the fried potatoes were quite greasy) and the currywurst with fries. Since the location right on the harbor basin is great and you can sit outside in a sheltered place, we will still come back and maybe try cake. The staff is nice and attentive, but they have often deducted too much when paying. Since you don't get an invoice, you quickly end up paying too much.

Been here two years ago. It's like before again. We received a really nice welcome, despite not having booked a table. A great, nice service that brings the order with fun. It rounded off our vacation again. Thank you.

Unfortunately completely unsuitable for vegetarians. Unfortunately, the dishes that were declared online as vegetarian did not exist.

During our week-long stay on Sylt we ate at the "Pirate's Nest" twice and it was simply good because the all-round package was right. Delicious food, friendly service and an ambience with flair, the best conditions for a good evening. There's something on the menu for every taste, whether it's fish, meat, vegetarian or just a snack - it's best to try it out for yourself! Reservations are recommended for the evening.

A nice restaurant in the harbor with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately there was only one vegetarian and no vegan dish. Unfortunately, I didn't find this selection satisfactory.

Unfortunately I can't give it more than 3 stars because the price/performance ratio isn't right. The starter was a fine fish soup (unfortunately hot and over-seasoned) for 11.90 euros and sheep's cheese with tomatoes in aluminum foil (actually a no go). (it was ok so far) for 12.90 euros. Main course fried potatoes (unfortunately some cold, tasted a bit like they had been warmed up in the microwave, but not fresh) and schnitzel (unfortunately a finished product, albeit a relatively good one) with fried egg and crabs for 22.90 euros. At least a salad garnish would be recommended here - unfortunately it was very carelessly prepared. I think a 0.75 liter bottle of Gerolsteiner water still for 9.50 euros is overpriced. Staff are generally friendly, but very loud among themselves and even a loud discussion about who is to blame for a guest not being cashed in. Basically, I can only recommend the Pirate's Nest as a restaurant for quick food without highs but with lows, but nothing more. The furnishings are very rustic, a bit thrown together and, in my opinion, nothing special. Therefore just 3 stars. I've had better quality food on Sylt for less money.

Beim Eingang sind wir abgefertigt worden mit dem Hinweis das im Restaurant alle Plätze belegt sind und wir müssten in den kalten Wintergarten setzen (ohne Heizung). Kellner sehr unfreundlich - wir sind gegangen !

Went to the Pirate's Nest today, the last time in 2018. The restaurant has a very nice and spacious outdoor area. We sat inside. The waitresses are still super nice and accommodating. The food came very quickly. Salad with turkey breast strips and baked potatoes with salmon. What was particularly noteworthy was the delicious salad dressing, avocado-ginger, so good... delicious. We will definitely come back on this vacation.

Had dinner here today with a group (including small children). Were warmly welcomed by the waiters and brought to the table. The drinks came quickly and the food for our group (8 adults, 3 children) also came very quickly. The food was really very good, I had the plaice and wasn't expecting such a large portion. Everything tasted good and the staff was really nice and friendly. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Located directly at List harbor, nice atmosphere with beach chairs. Service is Nordic friendly but the food is forgettable: convenience food at its best. Pressed salmon and limp spinach are sold to guests as freshly cooked - an outrage on the island, shame on you!!! The reviews here suggest that German food culture is also going down the drain. NO RECOMMENDATION!!!

Very nice service 🤩 the dishes are all generously sized and super tasty 😋 Prices are absolutely ok for Sylt. We have been coming since 2015 and feel completely at home there.

We came to this restaurant by chance last night. There were seven of us and we hadn't made a reservation, but we were immediately given a large, round table. Although the restaurant was very busy, the waiters were extremely friendly and accommodating. We received professional and competent advice. We can particularly recommend the fish platter for two people, which is a real treat – perfect for fish lovers. The fried potatoes, sauces and salad were also excellent. Overall, we were very satisfied with the service, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. We will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant. The location is also wonderful, with a beautiful view of the harbor. Our dog Bella also felt completely comfortable.

Overall good. If Gosch offers predominantly good fish, the Pirate's Nest offers a larger meat menu. And the excursion boats also leave directly from the beer garden.

Unfortunately disappointing! We have been coming here for many years, and today is certainly the last time. The mixed salad with turkey breast strips used to be great, but now it consists of a "cheap mix" that even the delicious dressing couldn't remove and the turkey breast strips lacked spice. Our waiter wasn't really friendly either. CONCLUSION: No recommendation despite the beautiful ambience right on the harbor.

Spare ribs tasted good, unfortunately my salad was forgotten. Likewise, my wife forgot the sauce on her salad. Friendly waiter, pleasant atmosphere.

What a pleasant change on the increasingly snobbish island! Excellent service, warm manners and really delicious food. Steak, plaice and vegetable pan - handcrafted, tasty and prepared top notch. The price is completely acceptable; some much more expensive restaurants in Westerland, Kampen or Rantum cannot keep up. Were there for the first time. We'll be back.

Last ate there with parents and son in autumn 2022. In my opinion, really shamelessly overpriced 80s excursion restaurant cuisine. Loveless and old-fashioned. Location is everything, the operator will say... I would even say that I have never eaten worse on Sylt - this is of course subjective. Today the non-fish Gosch opposite was closed, so another attempt with the cheeky pirates... It was right, really crazy: The respected Mr. Waiter CONSISTENTLY ignored my son (12) and me for >20 minutes and even (demonstratively?) laid out menus at the empty table next door. Otherwise, he wooed the over-80 guests with wacky, routine jokes. An absolute complete professional...;-) Didn't even see a sign saying you won't be served if you're under 50... Then they left. NEVER AGAIN.

We actually wanted to have a coffee and just sat down. It started to rain heavily and a family with a small child just wanted to shelter briefly at the edge of the bar. The employee loudly and very rudely shooed them away and said "this is a restaurant and not a shelter." Where is the kindness? They didn't want to spend hours on end. Then we left too.

Location right at the harbor. Nice, relaxed service, the drinks came super quickly. Food was also delicious, special requests were implemented. A bit of salad on the plate would have been nice, the children's dish had everything that children and parents could want.

Apparently waiters had better things to do than serve. After a long wait, got something myself. But the food tasted good.

It was our first time on Sylt and we knew that the prices were higher. However, we were really very positively surprised by the Pirate's Nest, the price/performance ratio was really good and the food also tasted great. So I can only say that anyone looking for good food at reasonable prices on Sylt has come to the right place?

There were two of us for dinner. There was North Sea sole with parsley potatoes, melted butter and cucumber salad. The food was really good with a great price-performance ratio. Super rustic & cozy maritime atmosphere right at Lister harbor. Very friendly service.

Moin, ich war zum Mittagessen dort. Bestellt hatte ich als Vorspeise warmen Schafskäse mit Knoblauch, Tomaten und Baguette und als Hauptspeise feurige Fischpfanne mit Paprika, Zwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln. Alles befriedigend und zu normalen Preisen. Das Lokal grenzt unmittelbar an den Hafen und somit sitzt man draußen unmittelbar an der Schiffen. Klasse und besser als bei den anderen dort in List ansässigen Lokalen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

We stopped here after a day trip with the dogs on our elbows. The food and drinks came very quickly and everything tasted excellent. The staff was very nice and was able to recommend things from the menu according to our wishes. If you get an outside seat in summer, you have a beautiful view of the harbor and the boats that are docking. All in all great! We'd love to come back!

Fast wären wir von den schlechten Bewertungen in diesem Jahr abgehalten worden. Gut, dass wir doch hingegangen sind. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung, sehr gutes Essen, es war alles wunderbar. Man fragt sich, wo die schlechten Bewerter gegessen haben, im Piratennest kann es jedenfalls nicht gewesen sein. Aber es gibt ja genügend andere Lokale im Lister Hafen, vielleicht ist der eine oder andere Bewerter durcheinandergekommen?

Very friendly staff, we had the fish platter for 2 people and loved it.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all. The food was below average, the schnitzel tastes better in our hospital canteen, there are only a few fries and no salad. The portion size was inadequate. The salmon is completely overcooked, as are the shrimp. The wok vegetables taste like a mixed salad that was cooked in a wok. Salad dressing tastes very suspiciously like ready-made dressing. Fried potatoes are also out of the bag. For such a price, I think it's a disgrace. The ambience and the nice service are positive.
