Absolute recommendation. The food is prepared with a lot of love and very fresh.

A must every time. Price/performance is right, as is the quality. We'll definitely be back.

Closed during supposed "opening hours". No indication whatsoever why or for how long. You only notice it when you stand in front of it.

Always an experience to eat on the ship in the port of Sassnitz. Thanks to the great weather, we were able to sit on the deck, from where you have a fantastic view over the harbor on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other. The food was very, very tasty and unbeatable in terms of price-performance ratio.

The food was good, but something special was missing for the high prices. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and the service was also very friendly. No card payment will no longer be appropriate in 2024.

Food good, but not exceptional. My herring was good, but my wife's redfish was boring. A very atmospheric environment with great attention to detail. Very bad service. A rude and grumpy waiter who repeatedly dared to answer in an arrogant tone. A waitress brought us the food before the cutlery and the wrong beers. We were ignored for almost the entire meal, so much so that my wife had to get up to ask for salt. Not to be repeated

The MS Manfred was our highlight on every Rügen holiday. The service, the food (especially the fried potatoes) everything was top but what we experienced today left us shocked. Ordered a place by phone for 7:30 p.m. (9 p.m. closing time) At 8:15 p.m. we were cleared and stood outside again, speechless. The young waiter was completely clueless. The food came quickly, starter soup, main course and when we cleared it (drinks were still full) we immediately asked if we wanted to pay. When we paid the bill, he blew out the candle on the table. 5 minutes later he came back to the table and waited until my husband had finished his glass (8:15 p.m.). It was like being kicked out because we were the only two young men. Service points 0 (THE kitchen crew left faster than we could understand what had just happened) The food was ok but couldn't be compared with our previous visits. It's a real shame that we no longer have our must have on our Rügen holiday.

The slightly different restaurant. You can dine on deck or inside. There is a large selection on the menu, everyone should find something there. Staff is very friendly. I don't agree with any of the previous speakers and notice that the breading takes away a lot of the cod fillet's actual taste and makes it taste almost like pollock. Nevertheless, it is worth a visit.

Rügen & Sassnitz without eating at least once on the cutter Manfred is not possible. The fish is perfect and fresh and the fried potatoes are world class! The entire service is warm. The prices are right. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Cozy, rustic ship restaurant with delicious food and nice staff

We were on the cutter ship for dinner in July. Wor sat on the deck and had to ask the waiter twice for blankets as the air was fresh. At some point we had the blankets. Even though there were few guests, it took a while for the waiter to come shuffling over. The menu consisted almost exclusively of herring dishes at ridiculously high prices, considering that herring is a rather inexpensive fish. There was so little sauce for the cream herring that we had to order more. Paid another EUR 2.50 for a small bowl. We were surprised that you had to pay in cash. We were disappointed, the price-performance service was out of proportion. No longer an option for us, we would rather have an honest fish sandwich.

We came here on a recommendation and wanted to have a delicious meal. The food was greasy and the fish was hard. The fried potatoes and fish were probably fried in the same old oil. The result was that I spent the rest of the day on the toilet with severe diarrhea. I would also like to mention that the location is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. The service doesn't really care. As we left the ship, I heard one waitress calling to another...are they finally gone? I can only recommend going to another location.

Great fish dishes and really cheap. You still have a beautiful view of the harbor and the Baltic Sea.

We ate at “Manfred” on the first evening in Sassnitz as usual. Are disappointed, the service has decreased and the food was better, only the prices have increased. It's a shame actually.

We were guests on the MS Manfred today and our food was very tasty and filling, the cuisine is very good! The service was Nordic friendly and very quick. We felt very comfortable as guests. We would like to give a very positive review because we really liked it. Price performance is exemplary here. Great and thanks to the MS Manfred team.

We stopped in quite spontaneously, even without a reservation we were “shoved in between”. We ate our dinner below deck and the atmosphere immediately caught us. Nautical-rustic, the service was always friendly, the food came quickly and was very tasty! We can only recommend the fried herring on fried potatoes, great!

I've been coming here at least once a year for over 10 years. It's a must, so to speak, to eat here. The portions are, in my opinion, large. Often there is less on the plate elsewhere. Lastly I had fried redfish. Was very tasty. The salad side dish is also completely to my taste. Price-wise, it's also completely okay. I miss the monkfish on the menu though. I've always really enjoyed eating it. Despite all this, I would like to come back next year.

Never again!!! We wanted to go out for a delicious meal again, like we did 7 years before. When a drunk gentleman arrived, he said loudly, "People with children are anti-social!" and when Manfred disappeared we were very shocked when we realized that the gentleman was part of the service staff. Two other guests then left. It was more important to work on signs with cable ties and smoke. Since we continued to be ignored after a long wait, we left without eating.

We've eaten at Manfred's several times. Very satisfied every time.

The ship itself looked very inviting from a distance. This is not really confirmed on board. Jumbled wooden and beer benches and clinked plates. The menu is very large and also offers a lot of non-regional fish. The side dish for the fried cod fillet consists of 5 croquettes in a separate bowl. The second person with this dish received exactly two boiled potatoes. The fried potatoes with the burger were largely oversalted and the garnish consisted of ready-made salads and dried tomatoes and cucumbers. The sea buckthorn wheat is homemade and unfortunately tastes anything but good. The waiter is unfriendly and seems incredibly stupid, and it also smells very much like a deep fryer. We were forgotten several times and had to draw attention to ourselves. Card payments are also not possible, which is very inconvenient in this somewhat remote location.

Incredibly delicious, great ambience Super Service! After several recommendations, today the path led us to the ship. We were served quickly, friendly and very pleasantly. The ship itself is impressively great. To create a gastronomic experience out of it - great. The view of the harbor while eating is priceless. We had a very delicious meal. I had excellent fish and my husband had schnitzel with plenty of fried potatoes. The food was really great. Price performance top. It was really plentiful. Thank you very much - we felt very comfortable as guests.

The MS Manfred has been part of our ritual for years when we stop by Sassnitz. After a nice walk along the pier, with a view of the Baltic Sea and Sassnitz harbor, you reach the smoking and restaurant ship. The food is very plentiful, tasty and with great salad decorations. The ambience is fantastic with a wide view and a rustic ship feeling, you can sit above deck in the fresh air or weatherproof below deck. The service is discreet, wonderfully friendly and fast. Anyone who has such MAs these days, especially on the Baltic Sea, should consider themselves lucky. We are looking forward to the next time!

First of all, the food tasted great! Matjes perfect. There were a whopping 15 bones in the redfish fillet, which I think was quite impressive. I told the waiter that too, it wasn't a complaint, he looked as if the ship was about to sink. I'll be back soon, we didn't see him again. Otherwise the ship is great.

Have never been disappointed here and would love to come back! Only recommended.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The restaurant ship MS Manfred in the Sassnitz city harbor is an absolute highlight and definitely worth a visit! The view from the ship is simply fantastic. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the harbor, the Baltic Sea and the charming town of Sassnitz. Especially in the evenings, when the city lights reflect and the ships gently sway in the harbor, the atmosphere is simply magical. Today it was more like autumn... The service on board is exceptionally attentive and friendly. As soon as you enter the ship you feel warmly welcomed. The staff always tries to fulfill every wish and ensures that you feel completely comfortable. The food on the MS Manfred is also a pleasure. We had the backfish burger with delicious fries and the zander with crispy fried potatoes - both were excellently prepared and extremely tasty. Particularly noteworthy is the in-house strawberry punch, which impresses with its fruity, refreshing taste and goes perfectly with a maritime evening. The overall package on the MS Manfred is convincing across the board. The combination of fantastic views, attentive service and delicious food makes this restaurant ship an unforgettable experience. If you are in Sassnitz, you should not miss a visit to the MS Manfred. A clear recommendation for everyone who appreciates good food and a unique atmosphere!

At the very end of the pier in Sassnitz and SOOOOO good!!!! Price/performance - unbeatable!!! So dear girls in the service - the food is really good! Beautiful location, romantic. Was there for lunch - a wine before leaving on the ship - very stylish and tasty - the food after the boat. A good two of them would have been full! The bacon onions are irritating - because it's different in Saxony - a bit too much fat - but delicious!!!! Melting onions, a bit of bacon with meatballs - over the perfectly fried -2!!- flounders - great fried potatoes - extra peel. Salad bouquet - tasted great. Very nice table ceramics. Special thanks to the girls at the table - THIS is how I introduce service! Friendly, chatty, attentive. Many thanks to the team - because the chef - who I got to know before the wine - o lala. He's got it! From me - 12 out of 10 points and a big heart...

As always, the first evening of Manfred's vacation is mandatory, and once again it was great. Nice service and rustic atmosphere. We'll come again!

Original location, the worst food in a long time, service friendly to strict.

Wow, I'm absolutely thrilled with both the staff and the service. Shortly before an event organized by my company, the catering canceled. An alternative spontaneously had to be found and since we wanted to eat at the MS Manfred anyway, I asked on site whether it would be possible to put something together spontaneously. Everything worked out great. Super lovely people, great location. When we ate there, the food was very tasty. The individual dishes for the event simply tasted great. I can only recommend.

Went here for lunch today. Had the breaded cod with potatoes, herb sauce and a side salad. Unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars because I've eaten cod a little better... maybe it's because of the breading... such a fish doesn't need it... unfortunately it almost tastes like fried fish. The side salad was super tasty and freshly prepared. The service was very nice and definitely earned the 5 stars. Ambiance is great. Maybe consider frying the cod until it's nice and crispy on the skin...then you're in a different league. We still liked it. 👍

We went for dinner. They accept only cash so we had to take out cash from the nearby atm first. We ordered fish specials dishes. They came with roasted potatoes. The fish also came with a side of salad and a sauce. The sweet and sour taste of the pickled fish was too sweet for my palate. Fish soup was also not to our liking. In all its was okay. Also you get a feeling of the boat moving so if you have sea sickness then you can rethink about visiting this place.

Great food. -1 for no digital payments

Since we were rudely turned away a few meters further ahead because of the children, we ended up here by chance and were welcomed very lovingly. The restaurant below deck is rustic and appropriately furnished. The fish was excellent and the fried potatoes highly recommended. The children really enjoyed the large egg tart. The service was friendly, quick and customer-oriented. On warmer days it's definitely nice to eat on the deck. But the weather didn't make that possible for us. We would come back.

Burgers were very good, bacon was a bit too done for my taste (hard) but overall a good burger. Schnitzel was surprisingly large and also tasted very, very good. It was the best schnitzel I have ever eaten here in Sassnitz.

It's wonderful to sit here and has a great view of the harbor. I wasn't entirely happy with the food. I had the fish soup. The taste was excellent, except the fish was in there too long; he was already straw-like. A pity.

Unfortunately, in my opinion I cannot confirm the 5 star reviews. Price/performance ratio wasn't right for us. The waiter was confused, had to ask for the wine twice, he brought us cutlery and took it away again? The fried potatoes were cold and my perch was dry. The atmosphere below deck seemed cold and uncomfortable to us at this time of year

Simply great!!!! Freshly caught fish on the plate. There is something for every taste. Large portions for little money. Super friendly service and not a long wait for the food to come to the table.

The ship is classy. The food is delicious. The server was extremely friendly. It's located right on the harbour. A reservation was not needed. I am reducing the rating just beacuse they don't accept cards as a means of payment. Make sure to bring cash along with you.

The food was very tasty. Unfortunately the television was very loud and was a bit annoying. No card payment possible, we should have at least been informed of this when we reserved a table over the phone.

You should always not go out to eat in the harbor but walk along the pier to the lighthouse and then you will also find the nice restaurant on the ship. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. We'll come back the next time we visit Sassnitz.

It's a shame, a year ago we were very excited. The fish soup was again very tasty this time, but there was reason for complaint with the main course. The supplement hasn't changed in shape or style for at least 5 years, which isn't a bad thing, what's bad is if it looks like it's 5 days old. Iceberg lettuce brown, red cabbage slightly fermented, cucumber slice already dry. Fish itself was good. Note the lemon slice in the photo. Fresh looks different.

Essen war sehr gut. Bedienung etwas wortkarg aber nicht unfreundlich.

Super Lage, das Essen war einfach nur lecker. Eher Fisch und Fleischlastig, aber für Vegetarier gibt es Ofenkartoffel oder Salat mit Schafskäse. Preislich total in Ordnung.

Haben hier heute zu dritt zu Mittag gegessen. Frisch zubereitete, leckere Gerichte und endlich mal jemand der nicht nur was von Fisch, sondern auch von Bratkartoffeln versteht. Danke für die Gastfreundschaft. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr uriges Ambiente inclusive minimalem Seegang ;-) Die Portionen sind wirklich großzügig, riesige Auswahl, Essen ist sehr lecker!

War wieder sehr lecker, weiter so .

The boat is located out on the extended pier in the Sassnitz harbor. The menu has a variety of fish prepared mostly fried or pickled, and a handful of other German dishes. The highlight of the meal for me were the pickled cabbage selections and fries. The fact that fries were a highlight says something about the food in general, which is that we found it pretty basic. The fried fish had bones (without being one of the ones called out for having bones), and the schnitzel was quite hard to saw through, even with a knife. The servers seemed super busy, even when the restaurant wasn’t very full. Also, both our dishes were served in an actual puddle of grease, which made the food quickly soggy and not very appetizing.

Wir waren gestern kurz nach unserer Ankunft in Sassnitz natürlich unterwegs, um den Hafen zu erkunden. Mein Sohn stellte dann fest, dass er hier auch zu Abend essen möchte und steuerte zielgerichtet auf die MS Manfred zu. Ich muss sagen, es war eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Wir saßen im Inneren des Schiffes, aber auch nur, weil wir vorm Regen geflüchtet sind (aber das Oberdeck ist auch überdacht). Wir haben ein sehr leckeres Abendessen genossen. Mit Scampi Spießen für Mama und Kartoffelpuffer fürs Kind (natürlich musste ich meine Spieße noch mit ihm teilen 😄) und selbst gemachter Erdbeerbowle, dir so super schmeckte, als hätte meine Oma sie höchstpersönlich angesetzt 😋 Wir werden bestimmt in unserer Urlaubswoche noch mal zu Wiederholungstätern und gehen hier noch mal essen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Zumal auch für Kinder das Innere des Schiffes zum Entdecken einlädt. Aquarium, ein Nebelhorn.... Ruhig einmal umschauen... Update: 7 Tage Urlaub.... 4x auf der MS Manfred. Jedes Mal andere Gerichte und jedes Mal super lecker. Wenn auf der Speisekarte Rieseneierkuchen steht, darf man davon ausgehen, dass dieses Teil zusammen gefaltet serviert wird und noch über den Tellerrand hinaus ragt.... 😄 Wiederkomm-Garantie im nächsten Jahr vorprogrammiert.... Zu den Bewertungen, in denen sich über die Unfreundlichkeit des Personals beschwert wird: Leute, schaut euch mal um, was da jeden Tag und Abend los ist. Dass man mal ein bisschen Zeit investieren muss, wenn man gut essen möchte, ist doch wohl logisch. Und dass nicht pro Tisch ein Kellner parat steht, ist ja wohl auch klar. Und dass die Bedienung nicht immer gleich jeden Gast mit Handschlag oder Umarmung begrüßt und evtl. auch mal ein bisschen gestresst ist, dürfte auch verständlich sein. Wenn ihr schnell mit Futter voll gestopft werden wollt, geht in eins der bekannten Fastfood Lokale.... 😉 Wir können uns zu keiner Zeit über Unfreundlichkeit oder Wartezeiten beschweren. Wie es in den Wald hinein schallt.... Usw.😁 --------------------------------- NACHTRAG 2020... --------------------------------- WIR WURDEN ZU WIEDERHOLUNGSTÄTERN 😍 Auch in diesem Jahr waren wir im Urlaub auf der schönen Insel Rügen und natürlich durfte auch ein Besuch in Sassnitz nicht fehlen. Und auch ein Besuch auf der MS Manfred musste sein. Es war wieder mega lecker und die Bedienung (heute nur Mädels) hatten den vollen Kutter super im Griff und waren trotz voll besetzter Tische freundlich, zuvorkommend und flink. Hut ab... Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder. Auf so ein tolles Essen freut man sich dann schon das ganze Jahr 😁 =================================== Aktualisierung 2021 =================================== Auch im Sommer 2021 waren wir auf der Manfred essen 😍🤩 Nun zu dritt und auch dem Neu-Verkoster hat es richtig gut geschmeckt. Bitte macht noch ganz lange weiter. Sonst fehlt in unserem Urlaub definitiv was, wenn wir nicht mehr zu euch könnten. Auch in 2022 und 2023 waren wir auf der Manfred essen und wir kommen auch nächstes Jahr wieder...🥰

Super leckeres Essen, freundliche Mitarbeiter und ein tolles Ambiente. War eine Empfehlung dass wir hier gelandet sind. Egal ob Schnitzel, Fisch oder auch Kartoffel einfach lecker und frisch. Danke hierher kommen wir wieder.

Wir sind seit 2 Jahren dort mind. 6 x als zufriedener Gast gewesen. Diesmal war es ungewöhnlich schlecht. Erst die falsche Vorspeise erhalten aber akzeptiert. Bruschetta und Fischsuppe = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Hauptgang: Scholle mit Bratkartoffeln = ⭐️. Scholle gebraten schwamm in einem Sud und war matschig auch schlecht gewürzt. Bratkartoffeln waren noch relativ roh, 2-3 kl Speckstippen und schlecht bis gar nicht gewürzt. + Fish & Chips = ⭐️. Gebratenes Fischfilet ohne Bierteig, so gut wie gar nicht gewürzt, die Pommes viel zu fettig. Dem Kellner wurde dies diskret mitgeteilt, ob evtl ein anderer Koch aktiv ist. Als Antwort: so etwas habe ich noch nie gehört. Mehr kam nicht. Für uns war es das letzte Mal! Schon aufgrund der Reaktion gibt es keine weitere Chance. Diesmal: Touristenmaschinerie. Wäre eine andere Reaktion gekommen hätte man es nochmal versucht aber so nicht‼️ Auch auf Verdacht, dass meine Bewertung gelöscht wird. Das macht auch der traumhafte Meerblick nicht besser.

"Manfred" ist in jedem Urlaub ein Muss. Bedienung schnell und freundlich. Ich hatte Zanderfilet. Die Bratkartoffeln waren diesmal etwas zerkocht, doch der Fisch und Beilagen super lecker. Komme bestimmt wieder und empfehle das Restaurant gern weiter.

Essen geht so. Viele Gräten in der Fischsuppe. Bratkartoffeln teilweise noch roh. Tische auf den Oberdeck verdreckt und klebrig. Speisekarte ebenso. Bänke in die Jahre gekommen und rissig. Das Gute daran ist der Ausblick. Es gibt immer was zu sehen. Am besten, man speist unten. Dort ist es schön gemütlich und relativ sauber.

Wir waren gestern hier Essen und hatten die Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln. Das Essen war für den Preis in Ordnung und die Aussicht sehr schön. Achtung Maps zeigt das Restaurant auf der verkehrten Seite der Mole an.

Leckeres Essen mit netter Bedienung. Große Auswahl an Fisch. Wir saßen unter Deck wo es auch gemütlich und stimmig ist.

Hier gehen wir immer gern essen. Dafür lohnt auch der lange Weg auf dem Kai. Es schmeckt super. Die Preise und die Größe der Portion stimmen hier noch.

Ein wirklich tolles und kulinarisches Erlebnis, in originalen,urstgemütlichen Ambiente mit hervorragenden Service. Es war super lecker,die Bratkartoffeln eine der besten die ich je gegessen habe :) Super empfehlenswert!

Seit Jahren gehört die MS Manfred mindestens zweimal im Urlaub dazu. Super Fischsuppe und auch bisher jede bestellte Mahlzeit ein Genuss. Das Personal ist zudem sehr freundlich.
