Pier20 in Möhnesee

The shortest route to Italy goes to Enzo.

The restaurant is exposed above Lake Möhne. Thanks to the glass parapet you have a wonderfully open view over the lake. There is now also a roof covering most of the terrace, which protects against sun, rain and wind. So it's great to sit there. You shouldn't place too high demands on the food. The usual quickly prepared dishes are served. The location alone makes it worth going there.

The food looks tasteless, like rice porridge, not risoni with porcini mushrooms. Not even a green leaf of lettuce was put on the plate. Traces of detergent are visible on the black plate. Paid 70 euros for 3 people. No pleasure from eating. We will not come again.

Sooo nice - very cozy, beautifully decorated, delicious food and fair prices. You wouldn't expect it to be so beautiful from the outside - the logo on the white wall makes it look rather cold and not at all inviting. We were there for the second time now and will definitely come back - then we'll try the breakfast 😍

It was actually a very good breakfast for the price, except that the scrambled eggs were served in an ice-cold bowl and the scrambled eggs were cold within 3 minutes. A different knife would have been required to cut the rolls, as it is very difficult to cut the rolls with a table knife could, 1 small bread knife per table is enough 😁

Came in for a drink . The terras was full but next to it were two other terrasses which were empty and shielded by a strap . The people who worked there did no effort to help us. Pitty about the loss of business. Took it elsewhere.

Interesting that you can afford 5 months of hibernation in the catering industry at Möhnesee?? Have you ever thought about the employees???But constantly discussing little or bad staff! As far as I'm concerned, the shop can remain closed forever or be taken over by a lover, who, given the situation, carries out his job with significantly greater commitment!!!!

Beautiful location with a fantastic view over the Möhne. Very nice and quick service despite the high number of guests. The apple strudel and the chocolate cake were very tasty. We would come again 🙃

Update October 12, 2024 We held our cooking group's introductory meeting here, with 14 people. From coffee and cake to ice cream, to the main meal in the evening. Everything was very tasty, very friendly service, great ambience with a view over the Möhnesee. Everyone was super happy. At times the noise level became a little more present, but still within limits. In any case, we were all happy to have held the meeting at Pier20.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼2020 Had breakfast today, very nice ambience, delicious breakfast, very nice service. We'll definitely come back.

Very pretty restaurant right on the Möhnesee with a view of the Möhnesee. Food from the clear menu was very tasty. Service quick and friendly. There is a large terrace. All in all, highly recommended 👍

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and cozy. The terrace is beautiful and has a fantastic view of Lake Möhnesee. We had breakfast there several times a few years ago, but were disillusioned that the menu has now changed and you no longer have the options you used to have. It would be nice to have several different breakfast options. The service is very nice and the concept of ordering via cell phone is great in itself, but if I offer that, I also have to make sure that all the products that are listed are available or that everything that is no longer available is available, remove it from the shop immediately. We had ordered things that were both no longer available and the rest of the products in question (about ten) were also not available. The friendly waitress then changed our order to the only product that was still available. Unfortunately, it's completely incomprehensible to me. The cake was okay, although certainly not homemade in our opinion. It tasted very much like a convenience product. We also noticed people complaining about the main courses at the table next to us. In contrast to the food, the prices for the drinks were reasonable. In addition, paying via cell phone was absolutely not nice, as probably the most important means of payment was not offered: PayPal! A very nice restaurant in need of optimization.

Staff reacted to a simple question in a derogatory and rude manner, to make matters worse, even the manager/owner/head waiter was definitely not a “simple” employee. No reservations are possible for the terrace, all tables inside are reserved. However, the terrace is half closed. Instead of releasing one of the 20 free tables outside, it's better to send customers away with a stupid statement: "You can see that it's closed, that doesn't need any explanation." No matter the situation, you shouldn't deal with a paying customer like that!

Was at Pier 20 for the first time today. Very nice location with a view of Lake Möhnesee. We only had a drink but were very positively surprised by everything. We'll be back to have something to eat.

Unfortunately we couldn't try the food, so only one star with the nicest weather and enough staff, only a few seats outside are offered even though there are far more available, so only one star for the service, we always thought a restaurant wanted to make money Doesn't seem to be the main focus at Möhnesee, it's a shame the long journey was in vain. Which restaurant manager? As we walked past, a young lady from the staff told us that there were or would be no free seats outside, the explanation looks different to me, sorry, I don't know why I should reconsider my rating, there was nothing too positive to rate because there was no free table for us which were plentiful on the terrace.

It's my first time there...the view is just great...the burger I had was one of the better ones and very tasty. It's worth it... I almost forgot, it's nice that there is a motorcycle parking space😎

Beautiful bar, located directly on Möhnesee. Below the bar is the lawn for sunbathing and swimming. Fast service, good service...I'll definitely come back again.

They say: go to the toilet first in a restaurant and then you'll know what the kitchen looks like. In any case, my visit to the toilet after breakfast destroyed what had been a good impression up to that point. The breakfast and the service were okay, although you can get a lot more for your money elsewhere...

Location great, furnishings great, toilet... the floor was sticky and one (of 2) sinks didn't work, I can't say anything about the food, wasn't served... only got a stroppy answer from the bearded guy at the bar and an empty one Promise from a young waitress that someone from the service will come straight away and I can order my breakfast. After waiting for 25 minutes, I left the scene.

It's really nice to sit on the terrace and look at the Möhnesee. It took 30 minutes for our coffee to arrive and another 30 minutes for our breakfast to arrive... that's a very long time 😒😒😒 - otherwise it was very nice and tasty.

A nice place to land for a while. Lunch was good, we had a bratwurst with fries. Okay, what could go wrong there you might say, but it was a good lunch. Service was good and tidy and in a nice location overlooking the lake.

Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time - sometimes 20 minutes for the drinks and almost an hour for the food. The “Steinofen Hausbrot” was untoasted bread with a dip - a shame. The baked potato was okay, unfortunately the fries were still raw inside. I would probably come here again for a coffee or a drink because of the great view, but not for food. That's not worth the money to me.

Doesn't really deserve a star. The place is incredibly beautiful with a fantastic view. The staff, on the other hand, is very arrogant. We sat outside for more than fifteen minutes before someone came to take drinks, WHICH WE HAD TO SIGN UP OURSELVES! Normally we have a lot of patience, but we saw that other people were being approached. We felt rejected and ignored. The idea was to have lunch there, but I was no longer willing to do so. The atmosphere was cold and there was hardly any good day to come when we left. NEVER AGAIN for me.

Unfortunately dirty outside terrace and tables, very dirty toilets, not a toilet seat where it belongs. Unfortunately we only eat fried frozen food, rather outrageous for the prices quoted. Waiters not very accommodating and definitely not friendly. A beautiful view doesn't make up for everything.

Very unfriendly reception. We then left again because we were told by the service staff that the staff that was supposed to come at 1 p.m. wasn't there yet at 1:15 p.m. This meant that a large proportion of the seats were unoccupied.

Beautiful location with a view of the Möhne. The service staff was very friendly, although it took a little longer until we were served due to the high number of visitors. But here, too, is there a lack of staff? The food tasted very good. Special plus point: online ordering possible from the table! The (relatively small) parking lot was already occupied, so parking on the side of the road was available for a fee (€4 for 3 hours). Close controls are carried out here. So please keep an eye on the parking time. I'd love to come back!

Nice team, My burger was perfect.

Were there for a reserved birthday party, which unfortunately wasn't planned. After we had arranged the tables ourselves, it became quite comfortable. Every now and then a waitress would come by to take an order. My Pier 20 Bowl was missing the couscous and the guacamole, and after the first complaint the only thing missing was the guacamole. Conclusion: I will not plan my own celebration there.

Very friendly service and great location with a beautiful view. Keeps up with the times and you can easily order online digitally via your cell phone, pay and download the receipt. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to come back here!

The visit to Pier 20 was a complete success. Although this is a larger restaurant, the ambience and atmosphere is absolutely remarkable. You won't be blasted with loud music, you can have a comfortable conversation and have a fantastic view of Lake Möhnesee. The reservation was easy, the dog was also welcome and the roof terrace offers a special extra, although it was a bit too cool outside that day considering what we were wearing. The entire team was super friendly and responded quickly to order requests with the small light on our table. The menu is small, but the dishes are all lovingly prepared and the fries were some of the best I've ever eaten. The drinks are also absolutely affordable in terms of price, the Soest draft beer is very tasty. On our next short vacation at Möhnesee, Pier 20 will certainly be one of our addresses again next time.

We went there for breakfast with the family, the restaurant is located right on the water, on nice days you can sit outside on the terrace. The atmosphere inside and outside is very nice and modern! The staff was friendly and mostly quick (of course depending on how busy there is) The breakfast has its price but it was very tasty and we were all full :) the drinks are accordingly! Parking is available directly in front of the restaurant on the side of the road, but you should have some change with you as there is a parking meter there!

We chose Pier20 as the location for our wedding reception. A very big thank you to the entire team! You made our wedding the most beautiful day of our lives so far. From the planning to the final day, everything was just perfect. Mr. Morgenbrodt and Mr. Schmerer took a lot of time for us and were available to answer any questions we had. On our special day, Mr. Schmerer and his colleagues simply gave it their all. It was an incredibly caring and professional service. Everything couldn't have been nicer! Das Pier 20 am Möhnesee ist perfekt gelegen. Von der Terrasse aus hat man einen schönen Blick über den See. Da das Restaurant direkt an der Hauptstraße gelegen ist, sind Befürchtungen über evtl. Straßenlärm völlig unbegründet. Wir hatten an einem Samstagabend für zwei Personen einen Tisch reserviert, die Euro läuft und wird ebenfalls übertragen, Deutschland spielt. Leider ist eine Reservierung für den Außenbereich nicht vorgesehen, sondern findet auf gut Glück statt. So kamen wir in das Restaurant und neben dem Geschäftsführer waren noch zwei weitere Angestellte gut gelaunt in Gespräche vertieft. Auch als ich auf mich aufmerksam gemacht hatte passierte nichts. Also dann direkt zur Theke an den die drei standen. Ich könnte mir einen Tisch aussuchen war die lapidare Antwort, nun gut. Das Essen kam insgesamt schnell, zu schnell wenn man bedenkt, dass Aperitif serviert wurde. 2-3 min- später die Vorspeise. Also hatten wir darum gebeten, dass zwischen Vor- und Hauptspeise etwas mehr Zeit eingeplant werden soll. Wir sind nicht auf der Flucht... Und es waren noch genügend Tische frei, so dass es nicht daran liegen könnte, dass etwaiger Umsatz flöten gehen würde. Zum Essen: Flank Steak (medium rare) und Käse Schnitzel war angedacht: Das Flank Steak wurde ausdrücklich medium rare bestellt. Es kam eine Schuhsohle, Salz & Pfeffer wurden auch vergessen und insgesamt machte das gute Steak einen wirklich trostlosen Anblick. Der Kellner (welcher übrigen wirklich bemüht war und auch nicht geizte die eigene Küche zu diskreditieren), sagte nur: Ja, Flank Steak ist ja auch nicht ganz einfach... Fairerweise darf nicht unerwähnt bleiben, dass ich einen zweiten Versuch abgelehnt habe! Warum? Nun, alleine Essen macht wenig Freude, das Schnitzel war auch nicht mehr ganz warm und wer beim ersten Versuch so etwas hinbekommt, der wird es beim zweiten auch nicht wesentlich viel besser machen... Ja, hierüber lässt sich streiten. Zum Käse Schnitzel: Ebenfalls trocken bis zum geht nicht mehr, dazu lieblos die Konvektomaten-Sauce rübergekippt und raus damit. Lt. Speisekarte sollte ein knuspriges Butteraroma herrschen. Keine Ahnung, haben wir nicht empfunden. Butter ist ja auch teuer geworden. Der beiliegende Salat war okay. Pommes waren 50:50 knusprig und labberig Insgesamt, war der Abend, der eigentlich ein schöner werden sollte, durch die Qualität des Essens sehr getrübt. Das Pier 20 macht einen auf "Hui", modern und kann lediglich durch die Lage glänzen. Die Auswhal der Produkte würde ich jedenfalls anzweifeln oder auch die Qualität des Kochs. Der Geschäftsführer ist dermaßen arrogant, das wir am liebsten sofort wieder rausgegangen wären. Kritik wird nur dankend und grinsend entgegengenommen und daher kann ich nur jedem empfehlen einen schönen Drink einzunehmen und eine andere Lokalität einzukehren, es gibt in näherer Umgebung reichlich davon. Die Region ist eine Ferien-/Urlaubsregion. Das Pier 20 lässt die Vermutung nahe, dass Stammgäste nicht generiert werden sollen und die Preise gaukeln eine unfassbare Küche vor.

The outdoor-indoor area was really great, great view of the Möhnesee. The food itself is quite tasty. Unfortunately, the service is not particularly good and not really fast or attentive. In addition, the terrace is no longer in the best condition. Weeds grow out of the cracks in the floor and there are spider webs everywhere on the windows.

On a Sunday at 2 p.m., in high season, a 2 hour wait for something to eat? Hola the forest fairy... A BIG MINUS for the owner. There is no service manager here who can get things going because no one is quick here. A small map adapted to the season is missing. Less chichi, faster cooking. A guest should have their food on the table after a maximum of 30 minutes. There is definitely some catching up to do here.

We discovered this restaurant on a bike tour. Great location, view of the MÖHNESEE. Table reserved for the evening. Outside terrace full (not to be reserved) only 2 tables available. But they were directly under the speakers, not recommended, far too loud .So we went in. The tables inside were too loud even under the speakers. Just annoying. Great decor, very friendly staff, the food was very good. Various beers and drinks, great. My husband ate currywurst and I ate schnitzel with cheese cream and great fries .Salad dish with delicious sauce.Even when it rains you can sit outside on the large terrace.

Pier 20 simply has the best view over Möhnesee. The food and service is ok, that's why we really like going there in summer.
