Great brewery! Just the right ambience, very good food and delicious Kölsch! And we were really lucky with our Italian Köbes! Have a Kölsch and now zo mufflele kumme mi imma wigga jaän! 😉🥳

Every time I have something to do in Cologne, I try to go to a brewery in the evening. The experiences are quite mixed. I felt very comfortable at Peter's and really enjoyed the Kölsch and especially the delicious sauerbraten. Gladly again!

Luxurious food, prompt and funny staff. We're just not used to that tiny beer here in the Czech Republic 😁

My favorite Cologne brewery! With the nicest Köbesen, the most wonderful atmosphere and the tastiest Kölsch! Edit: It's still the same after several years... :) Edit again: The female Köbese are not that friendly... But the food was delicious as always! And the Kölsch anyway! Further edit: The female Köbes was once again a bit grumpy, but friendly. The service can be improved!! Maybe more staff is needed at lunchtime!? Prices have also increased significantly! The meat dishes now all cost over 20 euros! :/ Food was - as always - delicious!!!

Delicious food and traditional atmosphere

If you are in Cologne, you should visit a brewery, here you can find the Cologne customs, eat typically Cologne, and of course also drink Cologne.

Went without a resercation, quickly seated and ordered. Their house made lager was delicious and the food top notch, prob one of the best lagers. I had the coconut & carrot soup and the Turkey w/ bacon potatoes. You can tell this food was made by a top chef. You get great beers and top quality food. Definitely coming back.

The building is quite beautiful. The service is underground. Just what people in Cologne mean by “local color”. The food is hearty, uninspired and expensive.

If you are not German, I do not recommend you to come. Since we were 5 people, we waited in line at the door and sat at a table shown by the waiter. Then the other waiter, who we asked for an English menu, told us that the table is reserved and that we should move on to another table. Although the almost whole restaurant is empty, I think it is entirely racist that he tries to try to remove us from that table. It could have been the most beautiful place I've been to, but we've seen the worst behavior

A very nice brewery inside, quieter than the other Cologne breweries I know. You don't sit so close together, so you could still have a conversation. The menu reflects typical Cologne dishes at fair prices. Table booking is possible via online reservation.

Great! May it be the food there which is delicious and generous. The authentic servers, and the atmosphere like home. You will leave there with a full stomach. We got it for €60 with 2 dishes, 4 Früh & 1 still water. Very reasonable when you see the quantities!

Relatively expensive but ok for the location. Nice employees and fast service. Really great for a Sunday dinner with grandma.

Quería un plato tradicional alemán y fui por Snitzel y fue divino. Mi compañero pidió estofado pero no quedó impresionado. Tenían a Riesling, que me encanta. Mi compañero pidió su cerveza aunque no es fan pero le encantó. Su strudel de manzana era delicioso.

A lingering smell of grease, but large portions, good beer

Was a little disappointed. I've been here before and it was great, but somehow things didn't go well that evening. Service wasn't that nice even though it wasn't too busy. And due to the fact that it wasn't that full, we had hoped to be able to sit down properly with a group of 8 people, but we had to stand very relaxed near the entrance, where we were always miles away from the staff. Only had 1 beer and left Too bad. I hope next time will be better.

The fourth pub I visited in these two days. But not the fourth place, I liked this pub more than the previous ones (Schumacher Dusseldorf and others)! Ein entspannter Abend bei Kölsch und leckeren Speisen in einem urtypischen Kölner Brauhaus. Guter Service- leckere Gerichte zu einnem sehr angemessenen Preis. Die Lage in Rheinnähe, mit Museen und der Kölner Philharmonie fast vor der Tür ein idealer Treffpunkt.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is wonderful, the service is fast and the waiters are very friendly.

Delicious typical German food! The Schnitzel is delicious, as is the Bratwurst. I would go back to the restaurant a thousand times! In addition, the beer is light and delicious and the staff is very nice and wears cool pins on their ties.

Rarely have I seen such unfriendly service! My penns were pretty bad but the potato gratin was delicious! The salads were also very good but the potatoes from the brauhaus pan weren't that good either and for the price I expect some quality. What shocks me most is the way the service staff treats the guests.

We were there today with the family and my 93 year old mother-in-law (in a wheelchair). Such great, friendly, courteous and helpful service! Despite the short wait (we were too early), everything was made possible so that we could get a place. The food was great and very tasty. My husband talks about the best pork knuckle ever. We look forward to the lovely stay and the wonderfully collected memories. Absolute recommendation!

Very good quality food! We were very well attended to, we had to wait a bit to get a table but it was super quick. The pork knuckle was very good and the apple pie dessert was also good. The waiter who served us was very helpful and friendly!

I visited the Peters Brauhaus branch at Mühlengasse 1 several times. The experience there was always positive. The dishes were always delicious, both at lunch and at dinner. Without a doubt, different types of dishes are prepared here in a very tasty way. It is one of the best breweries and typical German restaurants in Cologne – a true culinary orgasm. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the Peters am Hahnentor branch at Hahnenstraße 22. I don't understand how both locations can be under the same brand.

Quaint brewery with a clear menu. Very good food and good beer. Fast and friendly service.

Lunch for four. As a starter we order Metthappen. After the main course was served, I asked again. In the end we didn't receive the Metthappen until we paid for it. We were then informed that there had been problems in the “cold kitchen” area, which could have been communicated right at the beginning. This significantly reduced the positive overall impression.

Sausage and schnitzel were delicious. I received a dinner recommendation from the person at the hotel counter. I recommend a place where we had lunch.

We were eating with children. Food was very good, service was friendly and very accommodating when we spilled something. We'll come back next time we visit Cologne!

Cozy traditional brewery in the heart of Cologne. Here you can enjoy hearty Rhenish cuisine and delicious Kölsch. Jakobinerinnen and Köbesse are cheerful and quick in service. Highly recommended restaurant.

I would say that it is a decent place with local dishes and local waiters which could be a safe choice but literally it ISN’T from the moment that we realised we were dining accompanied by a mouse which was running next to our table!!! The lovely but rough waiter when was asked he answered “ah yes! This is Tom”🤬 Please AVOID this place..it is a health issue!!!

Typically German place. Nice to eat. Their knuckles stand out, which are excellent. One of the best of their extensive menu. To take into account the custom that you cannot have an empty beer glass since they serve you without asking for it. You have to cover the glass with a coaster to avoid the rounds that are continually passing. The price-quality ratio is fantastic!!!! Place to keep in mind and very close to the Cathedral

Fast service, delicious food, charming atmosphere.

Very nice pub in the center of Cologne, although it was very crowded we didn't have to wait an excessive amount of time before we were assigned a table next to a very friendly German couple. The food was very good, my girlfriend and I took the house mushroom soup and shared a plate of meat. The beer was also good (although I preferred other breweries for this). The sore point was the service, or rather, a waiter frustrated by life in his 50s-60s who treated me and my girlfriend in a very rude way just because we were foreigners and Italians. Jokes in German addressed to us in the direction of the other local tables, rude manners, the only words in English when at the time of the bill he had the nerve to ask us for a tip. The only thing he would have deserved was to wait for him outside the club when it closed but we Italians are gentlemen and, with a smile, we even left a few euros extra. In summary: good food, good beer and nice place but if you are Italian don't go there!

This is exactly what I expected from this place, a typical German brasserie, with an all-wood decor with stained glass windows, their own beer. Fast, courteous and efficient service. I really enjoyed the dish (1st photo number 54 on the potato pig menu) which had a typically German taste.

We went as part of a tour and sat in a big crowded beerhall type room at the back. I like the authentic decor. Bookings required at night as it's super busy. The set meal was average but the beers kept flowing. You need on-point service because they come in 7oz glasses so you polish them off pretty quickly!

There were three of us, including a little girl, and we felt welcomed into a warm and authentic environment, which perfectly reflects the spirit of traditional German beer halls. Food: The quality of the dishes was excellent. Each course was carefully prepared, with authentic flavors that satisfied all palates, including that of the youngest of the group. Portions were generous and the menu offered a good variety of options. Service: The staff were truly superb. Always smiling and available, they made us feel at ease, even paying attention to the little girl's needs. The service was quick and efficient, even though the place was full. Environment: The atmosphere is one of the strong points of Peters Brauhaus. The environment is traditional, welcoming and well cared for, with details that recall the culture and history of the region. Perfect for both families and those looking for a typical German beer hall experience. An excellent choice for those who want to eat well, enjoy impeccable service and immerse themselves in a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended for families and groups!

Decent traditional food, arrived quickly, nice beer (to stop refills put the coaster on top of your glass). Waiter full of banter, we enjoyed it but can see how it might not be so enjoyable for some people.

A traditional brewery just a few minutes'walk from the cathedral. Beautiful Art Nouveau decor.Delicious Kölsh beer.We tried mouthwatering dishes such as Pork knuckles with sauerkraut, schnitzel and pork leg with mushrooms. Don't miss the desserts, especially the apfelstrudel. The only drawback is that, apparently, customers don't have free access to the toilets because there is a man at the entrance who expects to receive a donation.

Great food. It was odd that they made folks stand in a long line outside even when there were tables available inside.aybe some sort of crowd control. On a Saturday, We waited about 20 mins in line outside then waited another 20 mins for the food. So be prepared for the wait. The food was good - usual brauhouse quality you can expect. The great part was it wasn't too loud inside. Some brauhouses get so loud, noisy and boisterous after 7:30 am it's impossible to have a normal conversation. This was a great place for a meal and we were with 2 kids.

Good food but not so good service. The waiter was angry because we did not order very very organized way with 4 toddlers!? But the service gets beter after the first round of order. The location is good and the atmosphere is nice until the tables are completely full. Then, it becomes very noisy. But this is also part of the experience because the others options are the same. Also don’t forget to make a reservation.

The visit just before Christmas was ok. The atmosphere was good. It was nice that it wasn't so loud. The waiter was impatient, unfriendly and snippy. The fried potatoes were not good, the schnitzel was good. The Kölsch was very good.

Very cozy and delicious local food in a typical Brauhaus. You feel welcome and quickly have nice contact with local guests. And just tasty local dishes with of course a Kölsch, or several :). Service is informal but pleasant and neat. Book on time, you will definitely have a spot.

We got to the entrance around 11:30 am. Only after we made ourselves known were we met at the door. After we were asked if we wanted to eat, we were able to sit at a table for two. The restaurant was almost empty. We were made aware that the kitchen would only be open from 12 p.m. So far everything is good. However, when we saw the prices and the selection, we decided to just have a drink. We were then treated so stupidly by the waitress that we left the restaurant as quickly as possible. This brewery will no longer see me. There are better and friendlier places where I can spend my money.

Food was amazing!!!!!! The potato bacon soup was so good. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. Our food did come fast, but our waitress was often nowhere to be found. It took us longer to wait for our check than to order food and eat our food. As we were leaving around 19:00, the restaurant had a long line out the front door. It seems like a very popular spot

Maybe food. ‘Maybe’ we don’t have. - So you just want us if we order food for sure as well? - You drink, when you’re hungry you order. Goodbye sir. It’s all about kindness. Don’t recommend this place at all.

After being seated at the table, it takes 16 minutes until the first contact with the waiter, and after 56 minutes the second Kölsch! Food arrived 55 minutes after ordering, something I haven't seen in the brewery in Cologne for years, hopefully it's due to the Advent season!

The atmosphere is good. The beer is tasty and the food were also very good. During lunch (monday to friday 12-16) they have small schnitzel for 10 euros and it was really good, small but tasty. They only have one beer but it was really good. The atmosphere is also very good and the staff is very nice. The only negative thing is the toilet is not free which i find weird in a restaurant.

Queue to get in although so many tables available. Only drinking so waited a long time just to be told its standing only, when they could have said that before and we didn't have to wait so long. Took ages to catch someone's attention to get a beer. Slow service. Toilets need redecorating.

The worst experience of my entire life.. we were seated and then made to wait 1 hour to tell us that the kitchen is closed. Then we wait 40 minutes to receive the bill for 2 glasses.. all this in a nauseating atmosphere where no one deigns to speak to us. I totally advise against it for French people and other tourists.

VERY RUDE WAITERS! Came here for a beer and was waiting to be seated for 5 mins with no acknowledgment from several waiters. We got several beers and we didn’t have any cash so needed to pay with card. They refused and verbally attacked us in German that we need to carry cash and the total was too small to charge the card. They were speaking poorly of us to the German patrons next to us. They didn’t have any cash only signs. They reluctantly allowed us to pay with card and made snide comments as we paid.

The two of us entered the brewery on Thursday evening at 10:20 p.m. We were greeted with “the kitchen is closed”. When we commented that we only wanted to eat half a rooster, we were offered a table. When another Köbes offered us a Kölsch after another 8 minutes, we asked again for half a tap. Köbes shook his head. “The kitchen is closed.” I will never enter this brewery again

Greetings from Australia! The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the dish on the photo (forgot the name) and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I like how the beer comes in 200ml servings, as it keeps the beer fresh and tasty. Different but nice. The porknuckle was very good as well, very large, it was quite fatty but still very good. Pricing was better than competitors around the corner, and better food quality as well. There was a small waiting time, but got seated without a hassle. All in all 10/10

Careful if you need to drive! they keep bringing more beer even when you're not finished. (Not so great when you need to drive and already said no) friendly staff and delicious food.
