Pavillon in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

There are some things you just don't learn. One of them is to be doubly cautious with restaurants that primarily profit from their tourist location. Here, too, the rule held true. We waited for about ten minutes without even being given a glance, and our order was anything but warm-hearted. The food came quickly, but was extremely disappointing: over-salted fries, a schnitzel with a strangely jelly-like consistency and an unpleasant aftertaste. Even our children left it alone, which never happens. The fact that no one asked why a plate was returned almost untouched rounded off the disappointing impression. We got the impression that satisfied guests are not the focus. There's nothing more to say.

Cozy place with nice outdoor tables where you can sit in the shade and enjoy a cold drink or your food.

It's clean, and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the espresso comes from a fully automatic machine, and the taste isn't particularly impressive; the coffee is a bit watery. It's okay for a quick coffee in between, but not really suitable for coffee connoisseurs.

The portions have shrunk significantly compared to last year, and the prices have risen. It's a shame, because we went there with the same expectations as in previous years. We find it extremely frustrating when we can't get enough for €20-30 per person.

As the premier spot in town, centrally located and absolutely present, we expected more. The service was uninviting, the drinks unconvincing…a lot of syrup, poor quality or taste. Unfortunately, it's not a place we'd want to return to.

We had breakfast here on the weekend. The food was good, but the white sausage was only a thumb's bread (very disappointing), and the drinks were very expensive. Unfortunately, the service was not good. The waiter had no idea what was on the menu and didn't come back to our table afterward.

Not recommended! A cup of cappuccino for €4.90 and you get a cup of coffee with foam. Didn't taste like a cappuccino! When I complained, the waitress simply told me that we weren't in Italy. Unfortunately, I could have had two or three cappuccinos for that price...

Cafe & Restaurant. Large outdoor terrace, very busy. The cake selection certainly offers something for all tastes. A small ice cream menu.

Delicious cakes and a good, plentiful selection. Hot meals are also available. Great surroundings, right in the heart of the city.

The food was delicious and arrived piping hot. It's just a shame that the bill came right after you'd finished eating. But otherwise, I'd recommend it.

We went there twice. The first time, it was acceptable, but nothing special. We had the feeling they catered to tourists who wouldn't come back anyway, and you didn't really have to make an effort. The second time, based on these experiences, we just wanted a quick drink, but then the waitress threw a menu for two people on the table and showed no friendliness or service awareness. We tried to ask for a second menu, but the waitress didn't come back for ages. This put us off so much that we got up and left without ordering anything. The only nice thing is the location. You can watch the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian zone and Richard Strauss Square from a distance away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

From breakfast to lunch to coffee and cake, everything is of high quality and delicious. The service team is friendly, and the prices are typical for the area and reasonable for the quality.

We've eaten at the "Pavillon am Kurpark" several times during our vacations over the past few years. Whether at lunch or dinner, the food is always delicious and lovingly prepared. This time, too, it was very nice, with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Many thanks to the lovely manager, Ms. Adlwärth, to our waitress, Daniela, and many greetings to our favorite waiter, Dragan, who unfortunately wasn't there this time. We give it 5 stars in every respect and will definitely come back on our next vacation.

Best location in GAP, very good quality, and top-notch service (some of the waitresses have been the same for years, which says a lot). We go there often.

Great breakfast. The pavilion opens at 9:00 a.m. You sit outside on the terrace under a huge chestnut tree or an old copper beech. The service is super friendly and always helpful and courteous. The large breakfast (see picture) is highly recommended. Baguette, roll, pretzel, butter, two types of cheese, two types of sausage, cooked ham, honey, jam, and egg. The current price is €13.50. All good quality. Bread can be reordered; the friendly waiter asks several times. I'll definitely be back for breakfast the next time I visit GAP.

The coffee tasted like cheap filter coffee, the milk foam was watery and the espresso also tasted like filter coffee. In addition, the service was poor and you had to wait a long time before you were even served.

The waitress was very nice. The ambience was okay. The food wasn't good at all. The Jägerschnitzel was dry and the portion was very small for the price. I was very disappointed.

The service was a disaster. The gentleman was unfriendly and didn't smile once. He also really wanted a tip with the bill. The food was quite good, but not commensurate with the price (just too expensive). The unfriendly staff also completely spoils the ambience.

Fine for breakfast – especially nice if you can sit outside. However, the price bears no relation to what you get: For breakfast, only dry baguettes were served - no rolls, no bread. And far too little of it. Overall it was okay, but just nothing special for the location.

Unfortunately the worst apple strudel I have ever eaten. The vanilla sauce neither tasted nor looked like vanilla. After one spoonful I had enough. Overall, the mood in the whole café was strangely depressed, not very open-minded and the cappuccino tasted watery and I didn't finish it either.

We had the cheese spaetzle and the cauliflower. Both very good and generous portions. Staff and ambience excellent. A good selection of dishes for vegetarians and vegans.

We have been coming to the pavilion for many years and have never experienced anything bad. The food is always fresh and delicious, good selection. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Are happy there.

Siamo stati in questo ristorante per la cena di natale. Il ristorante ha molto spazio e ci ha accomodati in tredici molto facilmente. Sono bimbo friendly sia nel menu che nella disposizione. Abbiamo ordinato un po' di tutto ed era tutto buono ma nulla di eccezionale. Il servizio era molto attento e carino coi bambini oltre che scherzoso con gli adulti. È stata una buona scelta e siamo felici di aver passato con loro il natale.

Celebrated my “big birthday” in the fireplace room with a recommended menu selection! It was simply amazing - everything was just right - me and my guests were thrilled! THANK YOU for this wonderful evening!

Service - that wasn't it! We came in, sat down and waited for a condition... after a while, new guests came in, they weren't even sitting and were still standing - asked what they wanted to drink. Afterwards we were actually asked if we needed the card...? (of course, I came in specifically to eat!) but it took longer again... when we were able to order, we had to "wait" again... but lo and behold our food (2x goulash soup without goulash - but all the spicier) - the drinks still took a while - when they were there - the Spezi was almost without carbon dioxide and the wheat beer glass was anything but clean (just sticky on the outside...) so it's no longer enjoyable, let alone because too Recommend!! Too bad!

Super friendly waiter, delicious food in the center of Garmisch. we were craving for roasted duck, and this place didn't disappoint us.

Very tasty cheese sparrows, seem to be homemade, but I could be mistaken 😉. Nice, bright pavilion with a view of the pedestrian zone. Always something to see. Unfortunately there are no alternatives to milk for coffee (if you need it). Service was very friendly 👍🏻

Positively surprised, very good food e.g. the fish, large and very good cakes, good atmosphere up under the roof, very friendly and attentive service from the nice gentleman with the double accent.

To have a quick meal, basic service, the desserts were good and beautiful, quite friendly staff.

Today the waiter said "when the angels travel the sun shines". I hadn't ever heard that expression before but committed it to memory, of a time and place, shared with family on a sunny day in Autumn. A favourite!!! (There is a car park behind the adjacent Kongresshaus and there are a few places where it is possible to squeeze in a campervan). The staff and owner are lovely.

A Memorable Experience A funny side story: after buying some cakes from a nearby shop, we found out it had just closed, so we decided to ask a nearby café if we could enjoy our cakes there—for an additional fee, of course. The waiter we approached was surprisingly offended, giving us a mini-lecture on how rude and inappropriate the request was, even advising us to rethink our life choices! We stayed calm and explained that it was a neutral question, and we meant no offense. Eventually, he acknowledged his overreaction and even brought us plates for our cakes, though he firmly asked us never to make such a request again. In the end, I tipped him over twice the amount of our coffee and their own cakes. He seemed stunned and initially refused the money, but ultimately accepted it, clearly moved by the gesture. Actual Review: Service: Service was slow, and the atmosphere felt a bit uninviting. There seemed to be too many tables for the small number of waiters, creating a rushed and somewhat sad ambiance. Overall Atmosphere: The mood of the staff felt low, which may reflect some deeper issues with morale. While we enjoyed our experience, the café would benefit from a bit more warmth and attentiveness.

It's a shame that zero stars can't be given, that would have been the real achievement. So zero stars and the recommendation to avoid this place.

We ordered four lattes and a coffee, along with a cream puff and a few slices. The coffee and cream puff were good, the latte macchiato was cold and the slices were anything but fresh. (Nausea came half an hour after eating it.) The toilet was partly clean, the toilet seats were full of brown stains and there was no toilet paper. I give three stars for the coffee and the cream puff and zero stars for the rest.

We ordered only coffee and it was terrible - bad taste, ugly presentation. The location is good, it was uncomfortable to sleep. The service is mediocre.

I'd prefer to pay 4.70€ for a glass of water than for the cappuccino I have ordered...

It's very tasty. I haven't expected that meat can be cooked so perfectly and really friendly service.

We had the venison in a brown sauce with cranberries, knödeln, and broccoli with sliced almonds. It was outstanding. Our waiter was very friendly. Attractive building and setting. Highly recommended.

In the summer it's nice to sip a light beer under a thick tree and watch people - that's vacation. Nice service, normal prices.

Actually tending towards 0 stars. The ambience elevates it a bit since it's centrally located at the spa fountain. But extremely unfriendly and annoyed. Cream puffs €4.50 with sour dried cream! Toilets also not very clean without paper. There are better places and, above all, friendlier places!

Wanted a cafe and cake or something similar in the afternoon. I enjoyed it, but I lost sight of the ugly, plain table and the map - it disgusted me to study it any further. Such an old, stuck piece of cardboard! Then just ordered a latte. Came quickly, again very easy, not even a biscuit, put there in a hurry. And the price for it: €5 people, no! I'm local, never again. Unfortunately! There were no smiles either! Was in the restaurant upstairs in winter, it was very nice and very good. It was before Corona...

The coffee was in the machine, meaning it was normal. I had a cheesecake and it was delicious, but the service was very bad, as if you were forcing them, and this makes it impossible for me to return.

For me the best thing there is...quick and quick waiters, everything fresh on the table. The pavilion alone is worth a trip here.

Didn’t get any food. My husband and I sat down to get drinks. I had Hugo mit Prosecco and my husband had Lowenbrau Hell vom Fass. Beautiful spot to sit down with incredible views.

It was a quiet wet afternoon when we stopped by. A couple of customers enjoying relaxed conversation. Quick service and beautiful food.

There is always a place. Small sufficient card. Stay comfortably.

There were rims on the glass of the cola as well as the latte macchiato, i.e. residue from the dishwasher, I assume, and there was a hair in the latte. At no point did we get a card and in general both waiters were very bored and uninterested - it seemed to us as if they had no desire to do anything for their guests.

TO UPDATE! 1 star, but only because I can't give 0 stars. We get there at 7:45 p.m., hoping my wife and I can have a drink before the work week starts. When we get there, we are basically stopped, again; 7:45 p.m. that the restaurant is about to close. When we say that online the closing time is 9 p.m., they say that it has been at 8 p.m. for two years. Annoyed, we moved on. In this day and age, you simply have to stay up to date with the latest media, otherwise you will only leave miserable impressions.

We had a great breakfast. Great selection. There really is something for everyone. The staff is very friendly. Right at the scene of the action. We recommend.

I think the waitresses were overwhelmed. We were in the next room and had to wait a good 20 minutes until someone came, even though the waitress next door was serving and saw us. It wasn't just us, some people waited a long time until they could pay. They walked past you without seeing anything.

Wir haben zwei Cappuccino, ein Kirschstreusel und ein Mandarinen Schwand Kuchen bestellt. Der Mandarinen Schmand Kuchen war frisch und schmeckte auch. Der Kirschstreusel war uralt, die Streusel durchzogen. Das Stück schmeckte wie Pappe. Beiden Cappuccino fehlte der Kaffee Geschmack und waren lauwarm. Wir zahlten ohne die Cappuccino getrunken oder den Kirschstreusel gegessen zu haben. Die Bedienung ignoriert die nicht geleerten Tassen / Teller und kassierte emotionslos ab.

Went there spontaneously for coffee. The cake was okay but nothing special. The waiter looked bored. As soon as I sat down at the table, he wanted to take the order. My husband was brought another cake with the words that the one he ordered was out and that it was similar. Hmm...🤨

We ate here twice during our short stay in Garmisch as the food was exceptional. It was freshly cooked and delicious.The menu changed from one evening to the next, suggesting they buy what is in season and available. We ate in the evening and they do close early, but that was fine with us. Nice atmosphere. Good pricing. Service was courteous and knowledgeable. Would definitely return when we are next in Garmisch.

Eine unmögliche Bedienung, Nach dem sie erfahren hat das wir nur was Trinken, hätte sie und zwei nichts, beschwerte sie sich bei uns das sie einen Tisch an unserem geschoben hat. Nach dem andere Gäste kamen und mehr Plätze benötigte musste unsere Begleitung den Tisch räumen. Ein unmöglichen Verhalten wenn man Höflich gefragt hätte währe das kein Problem gewesen. Ich diese Café nie wieder besuchen. M

Wir waren Silvester zum Essen im Pavillon. Es gab Selleriesuppe, Wild und Mousse Schokolade, alles sehr lecker. Besser geht nicht. Das Ambiente so gemütlich, das Feuer im Kamin, die vielen Kerzen und schön eingedeckt. Wunderbar! Und die freundliche Bedienung, so aufmerksam. Was will man mehr. Preis-Leistung gut. Immer wieder gerne. Wünsche Euch allen ein gutes neues Jahr. Bis bald!

Hier kann man immer erstklassig essen. Wer Garmisch-Partenkirchen besucht, sollte mindestens einmal bei Adelwärth zum Essen gegangen sein. Ich selbst habe ein Kalbsschnitzel mit Preiselbeersoße gegessen. War sehr lecker.

Der Kaffee ist ein durchschnittlicher Maschinen Kaffee. Die Dampfnudel hat etwas salzig geschmeckt und ich habe grüne Gemüse Fäden (Rückstände von Lauch?) auf der Dampfnudel gefunden.

Sehr zuvorkommender Service, Essen liebevoll hergerichtet und ausgesprochen schmackhaft. Ich komme immer wieder gerne in euer Restaurant
