Fischer's Mohrenplatz in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

We visited Fischers on Mohrenplatz and were completely impressed! One of the best servers we've ever experienced – attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about his job. He makes you feel truly welcome as a guest. The food was excellent – fresh, flavorful, and prepared with love. The pleasant atmosphere and the harmonious overall concept are particularly noteworthy. We would definitely be happy to return and can wholeheartedly recommend Fischers!

You have to be careful where you sit! Because the area facing the street is temporarily considered a self-service zone. Then it can happen that you sit forever without being served. However, if you are served everything is ok. The food is excellent and the staff polite and friendly.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The seating in this beer garden is simply wonderful. It's very cozy. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. A few of the service staff seemed a bit listless and unfriendly. The waiter, Christoph, has the place under control. He was attentive, friendly, and joined in on all the fun. He does a great job and enjoys what he does. If it weren't for him, it wouldn't have been such a lovely evening.

Fischers is a lovely place to sit and relax, and above all, to look around. It's centrally located in the old town. The price/performance ratio is decent. The food is okay. Don't expect any culinary highlights.

The restaurant is delicious and unique. We ordered chicken and beef. They have something special: cranberry jam. It comes with all savory and sweet orders.

This is what gastronomy should be like! The staff is very friendly, there's almost no wait time. Drinks and food arrive promptly. The food we ordered tastes amazing! We've never had such a delicious knuckle of pork, the sauce is truly flavorful. Sharing the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert between two people was unfortunately just too much, but we were able to take it home with us thanks to the environmentally friendly packaging and deposit system (€5 deposit). 5 stars!!! We'd love to come back!

Great location with good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. There were five of us there. It's suitable for any group size. The atmosphere is very nice. The overall ambiance is very pleasant. There's a large beer garden in front of the restaurant, where you can linger. Overall, it's absolutely fantastic. A definite recommendation if you're looking for something to eat in Garmisch, and in a beautiful setting.✌🏻🤩💯

Good food, generous portions, and attractive presentation. You're served very quickly, and your order arrives quickly. The decor is traditional without being dated. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. It's no wonder the place is usually packed, so it's best to make a reservation. I'll definitely be back, and maybe go for a hike in the beautiful surroundings beforehand to work up an even bigger appetite! A definite recommendation.

Today we were in the table service area (yesterday we were in the self-service area; everything was great there! Delicious food and friendly staff!). The waiter sat us down and laid down the menus. We quickly knew what we wanted to drink and closed the cards. The waiter completely ignored us (despite eye contact), and it really wasn't busy!!! Instead, he served all the other guests who came after us, took our drinks and food, took the cash, cleared the dishes... We had the feeling he'd rather take care of the "better-dressed tourists" than us "sporty tourists" who had just returned from a bike ride through the mountains. After about 15 minutes without any interaction, we left. What a shame! But it's nice when a restaurant doesn't rely on money!

Beautiful beer garden in the middle of Garmisch city, with either service or self-service.

The ambiance and service were great, very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good for the price. It tasted like it had just been quickly reheated; the ham hock was completely overcooked and only lukewarm. The baked potato was only boiled and a little dressing poured over it.

Rustic modernism best describes the ambiance. Indoor seating can be partitioned off for small and large social events! Outdoor seating and a beer garden in the heart of Garmisch's pedestrian zone! The excellent kitchen offers traditional Bavarian fare at fair prices! The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly! And it's quick, too. You won't have to wait long. A meal here is just as worthwhile at lunch or dinner as it is for ice cream and coffee in the afternoon! Full marks! Plus!

It was an absolute highlight! The service was super friendly and accommodating. The waiters really did a fantastic job. As for the food, I can only say, "Hats off!" The two pork dishes were perfectly cooked and the sauce was truly delicious. As soon as we're back in Garmisch, we'll definitely be back! A definite recommendation!

Got a stale Spezi, and when I asked, the manager became loud and rude. You should definitely avoid this place, it's not acceptable!

There were four of us with a dog in the SBB area. What we didn't know at first, we were very kindly explained about the procedure. We stayed there because we had a nice, shady spot and didn't care whether we had a tablecloth or waiter; originally we just wanted a drink. We ended up having a drink and eating a currywurst with fries. Everyone said it was perfect, considering it was self-service and everything was prepared quickly and freshly. The portions and taste, as well as the staff at the food and drink stations, were great. If we're in the area, we'd be happy to come back.

Drinks in damaged glasses – a safety and hygiene issue, management's lack of insight We were guests in the beer garden on June 24, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m. Two of the three cocktails served were served in glasses with visible cracks and breaks. We addressed the issue directly. The manager explained to us that all the glasses looked like this, caused by the dishwasher. No replacement was offered, and no apology was forthcoming. Factually questionable: • Cracked glasses are considered unhygienic (EU Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004). • Risk of injury from damaged drinking utensils – relevant under the Product Safety Act (Section 3). • Under civil law, this constitutes defective performance (Sections 241 and 280 of the German Civil Code). Even if we ultimately drank the cocktails, this was only because we weren't offered an alternative. In my opinion, the management's behavior—a known problem, but no response—was irresponsible. A factual complaint has now been filed. Should any concessions be made, I will update this review accordingly.

While reservations are recommended, we were able to get a spot even on the spur of the moment. The food was truly delicious, and although the restaurant was busy, it was pleasantly quiet and easy to have a good conversation. The service was friendly and attentive, and both the drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly – really well-organized considering how busy it was! An all-around successful visit – I highly recommend the restaurant.

We were passing through and stopped for a bite. While strolling through the pedestrian zone, we got hungry. The beer garden was very busy around 7:00 p.m., so we went there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had one pork knuckle, one snack board, one water, and a wheat beer. All in all, €49.90. The price would have been reasonable. But the good knuckle and the equally good dumplings unfortunately didn't come with any other side dishes, such as cabbage. The snack plate was rather modest. Little choice, and very little bread, rather dry. For €20.90, that wasn't enough. Hence the deductions for the food. But the atmosphere here is good, and the seating is very pleasant. Conclusion: Recommended

I had the salad with chicken breast strips, and my friends had the burger with sweet potato fries. The food was excellent; the fries could have been a bit bigger, and my chicken breast strips could have been fried a bit more, but that's a matter of taste. In any case, it tasted great. Service was very friendly, and prices were tourist-standard. I would go again.

We enjoyed the first rays of sunshine outside. The outdoor area is beautifully designed. Part of the area is waiter-serviced, part of which is self-service with cocktails, wine, mulled wine, and Aperol. It's also very nice in the summer, with a beer garden and delicious food.

A very nice, I would call it a typical Bavarian restaurant. Service is super friendly and fast. The ambiance is a bit of a letdown, as the seating is past its best. The food is good, but a bit overcooked. It took less than 10 minutes for the food to arrive at the table. But it's basically worth a stop.

This is what dining in 2025 looks like! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were warmly greeted at the entrance and shown to a free table. The modern, cozy ambiance is extremely appealing, and the service is truly lightning-fast and exceptionally friendly. We enjoyed the food, and the prices were fair. Card payments are also no problem here. We highly recommend it!

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and cozy. We had reserved a table for two people that day and the staff were a bit overwhelmed with this information when we were there. It seemed a bit like the reservation had gone down. We were then allowed to sit at a high table. The food was plentiful and okay, but nothing super special in my opinion. The staff was really very friendly and attentive.

Overpriced. The portions are fine and the food is mediocre. We had Schnitzel (€30), and some gulasch with boiled potato (the eyes were not removed). Food was disappointing, would not recommend. Spent €75 for 2 people, including dessert. You can get better tasting kaiserschmarrn and schnitzel anywhere else.

Restaurant in the middle of the city, good food but then the service, no attention, presents us with menus in German even though we speak English. He comes and I ask him for a menu in English which he brings back then I had to get up to ask for a desert and to pay the waiter left without saying goodbye. I followed the backpacker's guide who recommended this restaurant and found me to have a very deplorable waiter. I will not go back there.

We were here twice during our vacation to Garmisch. The hotel staff recommended that we dine here. The first night, I had wurst with sweet mustard while my husband had the schnitzel. The potato dumplings were delicious. The second night, my husband had a pork knuckle, and I had the chicken smothered in mushroom gravy. The pork skin was crispy while the meat was so soft and flavorful. The chicken dish was just lovely.

A beautiful place to eat and enjoy a cold drink in Garmisch. Service was very friendly and attentive. However, I have to deduct one star. Greetings, maybe in the future you will learn to value your staff in front of guests. We personally didn't like the way it was done.

The waiter from Portugal who chews gum is as arrogant as we have rarely seen. Depending on the appearance, you will be assigned to good or less good tables - mind you, NOT seated, if you are alone, a clerk is also allowed to come to the table, because there will probably be noticeably not enough sales and tips for him. Thank goodness the beautiful restaurant has a very attentive boss.

Christmas Day - it's clear that many people want to go out to eat and that you should take some time with you. Nevertheless, we were very disappointed. We had to wait 20 minutes until the waitress came by. Then we had to ask the head waiter twice for the menu because we wanted to eat something. Luckily we got the card after 30 minutes. Afterwards we were asked for drinks. These came quickly too. We would just wait to ask what we would like to eat. There were no more conditions. When paying for the drinks I took the liberty of saying that we would like to eat something. Then I got an unacceptable answer from the head waiter: I was nearby and they would have called. Today, on Boxing Day, we ate at Maronis in the restaurant opposite. Although it was very full inside and out, we were served very warmly and didn't have to wait long for our food. So Fischer's Mohrenplatz might be good when it comes to dishes? I can't make any judgments about that. BUT THE SERVICE from the head waiter was disastrous and unacceptable.

We wouldn't have expected that in a place like this. Nicely decorated, very good service, very good food and good value for money. The only thing we don't understand is why diced shank meat is called “shank shreds”.

We stood in front of the restaurant and decided against visiting because of the name. In an open society you should rename yourself.

We were there on Saturday and had a great Kaiserschmarrn. happy after our hike. We asked nicely for 2 seats and were already scanned from top to bottom... when we got to the table we were immediately asked. You already know what you want to eat, right? No? We just entered the restaurant..? We got 2 cards slapped on the table, well… it seemed to us as if they wanted us out quickly, because less than a minute later we were asked again what we wanted to eat. Note: there was hardly anything going on! So we order something to drink first, we sat right in front of the bar. There we heard from the bartender: What the heck, I'm not in the mood anymore. Really great feel-good atmosphere! :) We then ordered 2 Kaiserschmarrn for just 16.50 per portion. The Kaiserschmarrn came quite quickly but was cold. Plum compote was also ice cold. A mere 50 euros for 2 hot drinks and 2 Kaiserschmarrn is just hefty. It's different and 100 times better in Garmisch. Then getting a dig because you don't tip much because you didn't receive any service... you can think about that for yourself. It's a shame, nothing seems to have happened here in Mohrenplatz in the last 12 years.

A very nice restaurant that invites you to linger before or after shopping. All dishes were prepared very lovingly and our waiters were proactive. Kudos to all the employees for this. We didn't have to wait long and were served very quickly. Result: Highly recommended and we will come back on our next visit. Dogs are welcome and we were also offered a water bowl without asking. Really highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere with little culinary content. The rooms are cozy and attractive. The service is friendly. The preparation of the dishes could be improved (e.g. fried potatoes too fatty, vegetables too salty and peppery). Given the density of restaurants in Garmisch, we would choose a different restaurant next time.
