We enjoyed sitting comfortably on the terrace in glorious sunshine and had a delicious meal. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. We'd love to come back!

We had dinner here. Even the phone call to make the reservation was pleasant and straightforward. We received a very warm welcome from the owner. The entire staff was equally friendly, especially towards children. The menu is very large, but well-balanced. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the venison burger and goat salad! Excellent value for money! And everything was fresh!! We ate at this restaurant four times during our four days in Garmisch, and it's the only restaurant I would return to without hesitation. The pleasant atmosphere is also worth mentioning. Despite the restaurant being full, the staff weren't stressed. The noise level was very comfortable.

Luckily, we were able to get a table quickly, even without a reservation. The food is very good. The venison schnitzel from the daily specials menu was grilled to a perfect medium-rare. The spinach dumplings are highly recommended. The Kaiserschmarrn is too much for one person as a dessert, but it's great for sharing. Overall: Highly recommended, and the outdoor seating area is fantastic too! 👌

We arrived early in the morning and the owner created an unpleasant atmosphere in the restaurant – he yelled at every employee half an hour ago and ignored us. The restaurant was already open, but the owner acted so disrespectfully that we weren't welcome. We were there with children, and it was very unpleasant.

A truly fantastic location. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the whole place was beautifully decorated. The dishes we ate over two days were absolutely delicious and deserve more than 5 stars. Keep up the great work, team!

A really great restaurant with fantastic food. We were there over Christmas and they had set up their own Christmas market in front of the restaurant. We ate inside, though. The only downside: It was too dark at the table. We couldn't even read the menu. I would have liked more light. The food was delicious and perfectly acceptable for Garmisch town center.

We ate there twice. The first time, we had a bacon platter and a Swiss sausage salad. Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. However, we sat on the first floor, and it wasn't quite as cozy. On our second visit, we had the onion roast beef, which was only worth one star for the price. We also ordered the venison fillet, cooked pink. Unfortunately, it was completely raw inside, and the dish was also overpriced. If it's expensive, then I expect truly perfect quality. The service was always good.

We wanted to reserve a table for four people on Christmas Day. The owner himself said he still had space for us. When we asked if he could give us the table in the corner or on the other side, he immediately became abusive. "Arriving last and demanding the best tables is unacceptable. I'll remove them," was his reaction. So we left. It's fortunate that there are other restaurants that are happy to accommodate four people, but he won't be seeing us there again.

Today we visited the wonderful, tastefully decorated, and meticulously detailed Glühweinalm (mulled wine hut) at Mohrenplatz, run by Fischers (we've eaten in their beer garden several times earlier this year; we're from the surrounding area, not Garmisch-Partenkirchen itself, but we always love visiting, and if we're in Garmisch, it's always Mohrenplatz!!). Thank you to the owners and the entire team; it's wonderful that there are still restaurateurs who not only understand their craft but also create such a fantastic atmosphere with such passion, both in summer and winter. Bravo, and please keep it up! (PS: We are, or rather were, restaurateurs ourselves in another region of Germany, so we're admittedly a bit critical, but you're doing so many things right and a really great job. I wish you were at my place!) It's a pleasure to be there, and other places would be lucky to have something similar. Fingers crossed, and see you soon!

(Very, very friendly staff.) We found the restaurant spontaneously and wanted to eat there at peak time without a reservation. Despite everything, we received a very warm welcome and excellent service.

I was here a few years ago and had very fond memories of the pizzeria: friendly, family-run, and relaxed. Back then, you could still choose your own table, the food was good, and the whole place felt genuine. That made this visit all the more disappointing. Upon arrival, you're shown to a table without any flexibility whatsoever; there's no more free choice of seating. This may have become the norm, but it takes away any sense of ease and privacy. You feel more like you're being shown to your table than welcomed. The real annoyance, however, came at the end: The waiter—friendly, no doubt—asked us if we'd like a coffee, a liqueur, or a shot of schnapps. He spoke in exactly the tone of voice that used to be considered a courtesy. We politely agreed, assuming it was just a small token of appreciation. The bill then came to €13 for it. From our perspective, this isn't an oversight, but a deliberate attempt to mislead: They're exploiting the friendly atmosphere and the relaxed setting to try and sell us something extra without clearly stating the price – hoping the guest won't complain. Even more striking: We weren't given the bill, but only the total amount. We had to ask for the actual bill separately to see exactly what we were charged for. This, too, is a clear indication to us that they're deliberately being vague. Anyone with nothing to hide states their prices openly or presents the bill right away. The food itself was good – no complaints there. That makes it all the more incomprehensible why they're trying to squeeze out a few extra euros with such underhanded tactics. What they're jeopardizing is the crucial thing: trust. I certainly won't be coming back. And I'm sure many other guests who still appreciate genuine hospitality will have similar thoughts. The end. That's it.

We were passing through and looking for a nice place to eat in the evening, and that's how we ended up here. The service was absolutely fantastic, as was the food. The pork knuckle is a house specialty for good reason, and the Martini platter (seasonal for St. Martin's Day) was also excellent. You feel comfortable here, and all for a reasonable price.

The food was poorly presented (the ketchup packet was on top of the fries). The service tried to excuse a missing order. The ambiance is good for a beer garden. In conclusion, would I recommend this place? If you want a drink, it's okay, but for food, you should choose something else.

See and be seen. The ultimate Bavarian spot in Garmisch. When the weather's nice, it's a wonderful place to sit and watch the hustle and bustle around Mohrenplatz.

We arrived spontaneously in the evening and were immediately and warmly shown to a table by the reception staff upstairs. Thank you for that! The food was Bavarian and extremely delicious. The salad, in particular, was accompanied by raspberries and avocados – an unexpected superfood treat. We were pleasantly surprised. Thank you.

We went there for dinner for the first time. It was a beautiful, sunny October day, and we sat outside by the entrance with a fantastic view. The pork knuckle with dumplings and spinach dumplings we ordered arrived quickly, and the service was pleasant and friendly. I asked him for a photo of us, which he happily did immediately. We'll be back in Garmisch for Christmas/New Year and will definitely be back... We're looking forward to Garmisch... We can highly recommend Fischer's!

We took the 1:10pm Eibsee Bus back to Marienplatz Gapa. Strolling around the area, we were looking for a restaurant that has a view of Alpspitze – probably our favourite peak in Gapa due to its iconic slanted and pointy peak. After walking around and verifying the view points, we eventually settled on Fischer’s Mohrenplatz restaurant. We love it that there was a perfect view of Alpspitze while enjoyed our lunch this afternoon. Somehow, Tom ordered the Pork Knuckle again (19.50euros) and we had the Paulaner Hell and Weissbier (5.60euros). In total, we paid 35 euros inclusive of tips because we had one of the best seated vantage points in the restaurant. The pork knuckle was a tad bit smaller than Augustiner Keller but Kate enjoyed the sweet crunchy bits that accompanied it – making it unique. During the meal, we were thankful to have this opportunity just to chat and enjoy the views of Alpspitze while basking in the sun that kept us warm outdoors... Everything was top-notch. The manager was very nice and chatty. The service was excellent and always had something funny on their lips. The food was great and the place was cozy and quaint. A little loud, but that's part of it.

This was our first time at Fischers on Mohrenplatz, and everyone was absolutely thrilled! A friendly waiter, very attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about his job, makes you feel truly warm and welcome as a guest. The food was excellent – ​​spinach dumplings, and I had knuckle of pork with dumplings, which were prepared with taste and love, and the knuckle was beautifully grilled rather than salted. We sat outside in the lovely sunshine... We'd definitely love to come back in the winter over Christmas/New Year and can always recommend Fischers!

The food was delicious, the beer was good. Even though it was quite busy, we still managed to get a seat. Some vegetarian options were available.

We come here quite often. At least once on every holiday. The food is still very good and the staff are courteous. But the boss himself is a disaster. He barked at us as soon as we arrived. He then showed us to our seats and threw the cards on the table, saying that one was the daily special, and left again. After a while, a young couple sat down at the next table. Then he came back after a while and yelled at them both. "Did I tell you to sit here? I still need that table. I told you on the first floor. Now we're going back." The young couple sat there completely bewildered and then went upstairs. Unfortunately, we had already ordered, otherwise we would have left. The waiters were all very nice and looked after us well. But the boss's actions were completely unacceptable.

The snack board and sausage salad were very tasty and good. The other dishes on the plates of the other guests also looked fresh. It was busy. Service was friendly and quick.

A friend and I spontaneously decided to have lunch here. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, although I would have preferred fresh pear slices for the goat cheese salad instead of canned ones! Otherwise, it was great! I also have to give a special thanks to the young waitress (I think she was from Ukraine 💛💙) who helped me find my lost cell phone, but in vain! Thanks again, and also to the young waiter who tried to call me!

Couldn't have been better. Very good restaurant. We ate here two evenings, and it was simply fantastic. Prices are a bit high, but not excessive. They're perfectly matched to the quality. The quality of the food is top-notch. The chef and his wife help out here and are eager to fulfill your every wish. It was always busy, but no one missed out and didn't have to wait long. I highly recommend coming here. It's definitely worth it. Reservations are recommended, as it was quite full every evening.

A dreamy spot at the entrance to Garmisch's pedestrian zone. A real highlight for tourists. The front area features a self-service beer garden with simple dishes (bratwurst, fish & chips, pretzels, etc.), but a large selection of drinks. You can sit here for ages and simply watch the hustle and bustle of the city. The back area of ​​the beer garden and restaurant is a classic restaurant with a great menu and delicious dishes. Excellent service in both areas.

Asking for one person for dinner on a Saturday evening at 8:10pm I was told sharply to come back tomorrow because "our staff has worked too much". Typical Bavarian attitude where they do not even bother about customer service.

Right at the beginning of the pedestrian zone lies this idyllic restaurant with a large beer garden and spacious dining room. You receive an immediate, friendly welcome and constant attentive service. The delicacies on the menu initially make it difficult to decide. Smaller portions are also available upon request. Ultimately, the dishes are incomparably tender and delicious. A cool drink and a view of the mountains round off our pleasant lunch break.

Here, however, you have to order it separately and pay five euros for it. I don't think that's so cool, because elsewhere it's just part of the dish. A bit ugly!

A typical Bavarian beer garden and restaurant. Delicious beers, hearty food, and friendly service in the heart of Garmisch

Arrogant, pushy staff. Our drink order was taken promptly, so far, so good. Then they asked us three more times in 10 minutes whether we'd like to order something to eat. That's what we originally wanted. We wanted to arrive first, order something to drink, and then order food whenever we wanted as guests. Not when we were forced to order something. We left without eating anything; that was too pushy for us.

At first glance, it appears to be a tourist trap, but Mohrenplatz consistently offers exceptionally good food. It's often quite crowded and noisy, but thanks to the many waiters, the food is still on the table within five minutes. Our advice: smoke out your cigarette in time. We can confirm that damaged beer mugs are often served (as the previous reviews also indicate), but that's no longer a concern after a few beers.

We were particularly impressed by the exceptionally friendly and prompt service. Drinks and meals arrived almost a little too quickly – something you rarely experience. I highly recommend the pork knuckle pieces. It was truly deliciously prepared. The simpler dishes (meatloaf with potato salad, appetizer plate with bread, and three types of spread) were all delicious, too.

The worst venison goulash I've ever eaten. The pieces were difficult to cut, but venison goulash doesn't need to be cut. The pork medallions weren't cooked all the way through, so they had to be sent back for another roast.

The interior is hearty, with a wide selection of dishes, plus a children's menu upon request, and generous portions. Great atmosphere, sitting in the prime location in glorious summer weather. A Helles from a stein for €5.20 and an Oktoberfest beer for €5.90 are quite hefty prices, but both were delicious! The service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me. From the daily special, we had the fresh chanterelles in cream sauce with potato rösti for €18.50. Unfortunately, it was too fatty, had few mushrooms, a lot of cream sauce, and was too salty. The meatloaf with cheese spaetzle in a brown sauce with onions and bacon for €15.90 was also too salty. The waiter commented afterward, "Then you should add a little sugar." I would have preferred a different reaction.

We enjoyed our visit here three years ago, and it was wonderful again. When it's full, which it always is in the evenings, the service is like the bridge on the Enterprise during a Bird of Prey attack. If you take a look at the cast, you'll notice that the waitresses' wardrobes are also color-coded according to their roles and hierarchy. The interaction between the captain and her No. 1 is particularly good. 😄 Unfortunately, the food was a bit lacking in taste for me. But I recommend everyone to eat in the restaurant at least once. The food in the beer garden outside is also nice for children. We recommend fries with truffle mayo and Parmesan cheese. 😋

Perfect place to sit on the square! The Leberkas was crispy and flavorful, and the Obatzda was super creamy—so good with a beer.

We come to Garmisch once a year and always eat there. It's simply delicious, the food comes quickly, tastes great, and the service is attentive and friendly. The price/performance ratio is absolutely perfect for what you get. We're already looking forward to next year! 😊

The ambiance is good, but the waiter seems a bit overworked. As for the food: It's a shame, I was really looking forward to the snack platter. It was served without meatballs. When I asked, I was told they weren't available at the moment. Instead, there's more roast meat on it. Honestly, 2 mini slices of cheese and then 10 slices of roast meat—the ratio isn't right. All of that with 6 mini slices of bread. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish on the wrong day.
