In the end everything ok. Food was good and the crew found their way to help us with our special needs - after some funny hesitation. I would probably go there again when in Garmisch

Couldn't have been better. Very good restaurant. We ate here two evenings, and it was simply fantastic. Prices are a bit high, but not excessive. They're perfectly matched to the quality. The quality of the food is top-notch. The chef and his wife help out here and are eager to fulfill your every wish. It was always busy, but no one missed out and didn't have to wait long. I highly recommend coming here. It's definitely worth it. Reservations are recommended, as it was quite full every evening.

I would have actually given it 4.5 stars. The pork knuckle was very good, but my sausage salad with cheese was a bit meager for €13.50. The ambiance was very nice.

A dreamy spot at the entrance to Garmisch's pedestrian zone. A real highlight for tourists. The front area features a self-service beer garden with simple dishes (bratwurst, fish & chips, pretzels, etc.), but a large selection of drinks. You can sit here for ages and simply watch the hustle and bustle of the city. The back area of ​​the beer garden and restaurant is a classic restaurant with a great menu and delicious dishes. Excellent service in both areas.

Asking for one person for dinner on a Saturday evening at 8:10pm I was told sharply to come back tomorrow because "our staff has worked too much". Typical Bavarian attitude where they do not even bother about customer service.

Right at the beginning of the pedestrian zone lies this idyllic restaurant with a large beer garden and spacious dining room. You receive an immediate, friendly welcome and constant attentive service. The delicacies on the menu initially make it difficult to decide. Smaller portions are also available upon request. Ultimately, the dishes are incomparably tender and delicious. A cool drink and a view of the mountains round off our pleasant lunch break.

A little loud in the lovely restaurant. The service is fantastic and really friendly, funny, and quick-witted. The food is good. But the "doorman," a somewhat older man with, let's say, a somewhat strange and dry sense of humor, isn't everyone's cup of tea. It didn't go down well, but it shouldn't spoil the delicious evening.

This isn't my first time at this restaurant—as always, it's busy and the food is delicious. However, this dish is usually served with cabbage (which is actually quite common and free). Here, however, you have to order it separately and pay five euros for it. I don't think that's so cool, because elsewhere it's just part of the dish. A bit ugly!

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Wiener Schnitzel followed by the Kaiserschmarrn (highly recommended). The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The prices are also perfectly reasonable. 👍🏻 I'd happily go back.

Arrogant, pushy staff. Our drink order was taken promptly, so far, so good. Then they asked us three more times in 10 minutes whether we'd like to order something to eat. That's what we originally wanted. We wanted to arrive first, order something to drink, and then order food whenever we wanted as guests. Not when we were forced to order something. We left without eating anything; that was too pushy for us.

We were particularly impressed by the exceptionally friendly and prompt service. Drinks and meals arrived almost a little too quickly – something you rarely experience. I highly recommend the pork knuckle pieces. It was truly deliciously prepared. The simpler dishes (meatloaf with potato salad, appetizer plate with bread, and three types of spread) were all delicious, too.

At first glance, it appears to be a tourist trap, but Mohrenplatz consistently offers exceptionally good food. It's often quite crowded and noisy, but thanks to the many waiters, the food is still on the table within five minutes. Our advice: smoke out your cigarette in time. We can confirm that damaged beer mugs are often served (as the previous reviews also indicate), but that's no longer a concern after a few beers.

We were looking for something and found it. We really felt very comfortable. The food was truly excellent, and the service was virtually unbeatable. Very friendly, and with pleasant communication, a very pleasant, homely atmosphere was created. You're actually happy to give a slightly more generous tip. Definitely keep it up and thumbs up.

A quaint Bavarian brewery-style restaurant. There are several outdoor seats under umbrellas, and there's also a self-service counter with a smaller menu and other dishes. The interior is hearty, with a wide selection of dishes, plus a children's menu upon request, and generous portions. Everything is extremely tasty, prepared quickly, and the service is prompt, friendly, polite, and attentive. Prices are reasonable, appropriate for the location. I'd happily return.

The worst venison goulash I've ever eaten. The pieces were difficult to cut, but venison goulash doesn't need to be cut. The pork medallions weren't cooked all the way through, so they had to be sent back for another roast.

Great atmosphere, sitting in the prime location in glorious summer weather. A Helles from a stein for €5.20 and an Oktoberfest beer for €5.90 are quite hefty prices, but both were delicious! The service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me. From the daily special, we had the fresh chanterelles in cream sauce with potato rösti for €18.50. Unfortunately, it was too fatty, had few mushrooms, a lot of cream sauce, and was too salty. The meatloaf with cheese spaetzle in a brown sauce with onions and bacon for €15.90 was also too salty. The waiter commented afterward, "Then you should add a little sugar." I would have preferred a different reaction.

We enjoyed our visit here three years ago, and it was wonderful again. When it's full, which it always is in the evenings, the service is like the bridge on the Enterprise during a Bird of Prey attack. If you take a look at the cast, you'll notice that the waitresses' wardrobes are also color-coded according to their roles and hierarchy. The interaction between the captain and her No. 1 is particularly good. 😄 Unfortunately, the food was a bit lacking in taste for me. But I recommend everyone to eat in the restaurant at least once. The food in the beer garden outside is also nice for children. We recommend fries with truffle mayo and Parmesan cheese. 😋

Perfect place to sit on the square! The Leberkas was crispy and flavorful, and the Obatzda was super creamy—so good with a beer.

The ambiance is good, but the waiter seems a bit overworked. As for the food: It's a shame, I was really looking forward to the snack platter. It was served without meatballs. When I asked, I was told they weren't available at the moment. Instead, there's more roast meat on it. Honestly, 2 mini slices of cheese and then 10 slices of roast meat—the ratio isn't right. All of that with 6 mini slices of bread. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish on the wrong day.

We come to Garmisch once a year and always eat there. It's simply delicious, the food comes quickly, tastes great, and the service is attentive and friendly. The price/performance ratio is absolutely perfect for what you get. We're already looking forward to next year! 😊

Today, we arrived at the self-service cart with 6 adults and 2 children "after" closing time and were told that it was actually closing time, but they were happy to make something for us. You have to be careful where you sit! Because the area facing the street is temporarily considered a self-service zone. Then it can happen that you sit forever without being served. However, if you are served everything is ok. The food is excellent and the staff polite and friendly.

A few of the service staff seemed a bit listless and unfriendly. The waiter, Christoph, has the place under control. He was attentive, friendly, and joined in on all the fun. Fischers is a lovely place to sit and relax, and above all, to look around. It's centrally located in the old town. The price/performance ratio is decent. The food is okay. Don't expect any culinary highlights.

This is what gastronomy should be like! The staff is very friendly, there's almost no wait time. Drinks and food arrive promptly. The food we ordered tastes amazing! We've never had such a delicious knuckle of pork, the sauce is truly flavorful. Sharing the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert between two people was unfortunately just too much, but we were able to take it home with us thanks to the environmentally friendly packaging and deposit system (€5 deposit). 5 stars!!! Good food, generous portions, and attractive presentation. You're served very quickly, and your order arrives quickly. The decor is traditional without being dated. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. It's no wonder the place is usually packed, so it's best to make a reservation. I'll definitely be back, and maybe go for a hike in the beautiful surroundings beforehand to work up an even bigger appetite! A definite recommendation.

Today we were in the table service area (yesterday we were in the self-service area; everything was great there! Delicious food and friendly staff!). The waiter sat us down and laid down the menus. We quickly knew what we wanted to drink and closed the cards. The waiter completely ignored us (despite eye contact), and it really wasn't busy!!! Instead, he served all the other guests who came after us, took our drinks and food, took the cash, cleared the dishes... We had the feeling he'd rather take care of the "better-dressed tourists" than us "sporty tourists" who had just returned from a bike ride through the mountains. After about 15 minutes without any interaction, we left. What a shame! But it's nice when a restaurant doesn't rely on money!

It tasted like it had just been quickly reheated; the ham hock was completely overcooked and only lukewarm. The baked potato was only boiled and a little dressing poured over it.

Rustic modernism best describes the ambiance. Indoor seating can be partitioned off for small and large social events! Outdoor seating and a beer garden in the heart of Garmisch's pedestrian zone! The excellent kitchen offers traditional Bavarian fare at fair prices! The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly! And it's quick, too. You won't have to wait long. A meal here is just as worthwhile at lunch or dinner as it is for ice cream and coffee in the afternoon! Full marks! Plus!

Got a stale Spezi, and when I asked, the manager became loud and rude. You should definitely avoid this place, it's not acceptable!

There were four of us with a dog in the SBB area. What we didn't know at first, we were very kindly explained about the procedure. We stayed there because we had a nice, shady spot and didn't care whether we had a tablecloth or waiter; originally we just wanted a drink. We ended up having a drink and eating a currywurst with fries. Everyone said it was perfect, considering it was self-service and everything was prepared quickly and freshly. The portions and taste, as well as the staff at the food and drink stations, were great. If we're in the area, we'd be happy to come back.

Drinks in damaged glasses – a safety and hygiene issue, management's lack of insight We were guests in the beer garden on June 24, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m. Two of the three cocktails served were served in glasses with visible cracks and breaks. We addressed the issue directly. The manager explained to us that all the glasses looked like this, caused by the dishwasher. No replacement was offered, and no apology was forthcoming. Factually questionable: • Cracked glasses are considered unhygienic (EU Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004). • Risk of injury from damaged drinking utensils – relevant under the Product Safety Act (Section 3). • Under civil law, this constitutes defective performance (Sections 241 and 280 of the German Civil Code). Even if we ultimately drank the cocktails, this was only because we weren't offered an alternative. In my opinion, the management's behavior—a known problem, but no response—was irresponsible. A factual complaint has now been filed. Should any concessions be made, I will update this review accordingly.

We were passing through and stopped for a bite. While strolling through the pedestrian zone, we got hungry. The beer garden was very busy around 7:00 p.m., so we went there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had one pork knuckle, one snack board, one water, and a wheat beer. All in all, €49.90. The price would have been reasonable. But the good knuckle and the equally good dumplings unfortunately didn't come with any other side dishes, such as cabbage. The snack plate was rather modest. Little choice, and very little bread, rather dry. For €20.90, that wasn't enough. Hence the deductions for the food. But the atmosphere here is good, and the seating is very pleasant. Conclusion: Recommended

We enjoyed the first rays of sunshine outside. The outdoor area is beautifully designed. Part of the area is waiter-serviced, part of which is self-service with cocktails, wine, mulled wine, and Aperol. It's also very nice in the summer, with a beer garden and delicious food.

Beautifully located beer garden

This is what dining in 2025 looks like! Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were warmly greeted at the entrance and shown to a free table. The modern, cozy ambiance is extremely appealing, and the service is truly lightning-fast and exceptionally friendly. We enjoyed the food, and the prices were fair. Card payments are also no problem here. We highly recommend it!
