Paulaner am Dom in Lübeck

We live in town and have been looking for good German food for when visitors come. (we are not German) We all had some version of the Schnitzel and it was great. Came with potatoes and a nice salad. The server was very friendly and enjoyed jesting with our visitors from the US. I would recommend this an affordable and friendly place here in Lúbeck.

A sacred cozy courtyard with both sun and shadow was what we were hoping to find in Lübeck - and oh boy we did! They serve a giant plate of delicious schnitzel and cold draft beer. Plenty of space both inside and outside.

It's a great pub/restaurant with traditional German food and beer. Nice garden on the sumer, traditional interior design.

This was our second time there. We had to add some seasoning, but that's a matter of taste. Huge portions. Service was very good, but one waiter was a bit grumpy.

I can only recommend a great place to relax and unwind with a very tasty meal and a delicious beer in the heart of Lübeck...you can't go wrong there, the service is also very good and you can have a cheeky saying...I'll go there Definitely go again...so Paulaner gets 5 stars from me

What a wonderful little gem, I recommend this over all the touristy restaurants down by the water. Definitely worth a visit.

I went there because I wanted to eat Haksen and schnitzel. it is delicious. The schnitzel had a delicious cream sauce. It's friendly and the atmosphere on the terrace is nice. The bathroom is also clean.

Why drive all the way to Munich when it's Weisswurst, Nürnberger, Haxe, Biergarten, beer not to be forgotten and such friendly service right near Denmark?

Food was good, service was very friendly, a nice beer garden, interior a bit run down,

On 14/7 around 17:45, we followed the door sign indicating terrace is open to the restaurant. The website also advertises the restaurant as inviting! However, the male waiter denied that the terrace being open and turned us away "outside is closed and inside is fully booked". We were left standing at the threshold rather puzzled and disappointed. We tried to talk to him again through another entrance and seek a solution but he turned us away without any explanation. We resulted in going to the restaurant next door. Within 30mins, we saw him hosting and seating two groups of people at the terrace. We feel that we were treated unfairly, unprofessional and inhospitably by the waiter who does not live up to what the restaurant portrays to be.

Authentic Bavarian cuisine in a pleasant environment.

Wir waren leider gar nicht zufrieden. Wir hatten zwei Wiener Schnitzel, jeweils zum Preis von 32€, und erfahrungsgemäß kann man bei diesem Preis wohl eine guten Schnitzelqualität erwarten. Das Fleisch war bei beiden Schnitzeln so zäh, dass es zum Teil nicht gegessen werden konnte. Dazu gab es einen Gurkensalat, nicht frisch, sondern aus eingelegten Gurken. Das schmeckte sehr ähnlich zu einem Gurkensalat aus dem Regal im Supermarkt. Auch die Bratkartoffeln waren fast komplett verbrannt. Es gab jeweils 5 Scheiben (!) die man Essen konnte, der Rest waren kleine verbrannte Krümel. Auf unsere Beschwerde wurde nur mit „das gebe ich mal weiter“ und „kann ich Ihnen einen Schnaps anbieten“ reagiert. Als hätte der Schnaps den Preis von 65€ und den Hunger, der danach noch bestand, wieder wett gemacht. Bei der Übergabe der Rechnung wurde das Thema dann auch nicht noch einmal angesprochen und der volle Preis berechnet. Wirklich schade!!!

Very nice authentic restaurant with classic German food. We ordered sausages with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and eisbein and it was delicious!!! Portions are big as well. Very nice changing table set up for babies, super convenient. Recommending this place as non touristic place to eat.

**Great inn in Lübeck's old town - Paulaner am Dom** **Location:** Near Lübeck Cathedral, in the heart of the old town. **Atmosphere:** Rustic flair with a cozy atmosphere. **Service:** Friendly and quick. **Beverages:** Enjoy Kellerbier or the light beer. **Food:** Well portioned and fairly priced dishes. Particularly recommended: Bavarian sausage salad. I can highly recommend the Paulaner am Dom and will come back on his next visit to the city.

Very friendly staff. Food, I ate the Wiener Schnitzel, very tasty! There were 12 people and the food arrived hot and for everyone at the same time.

Already ate much better. Potato dumplings taste like ready-made dumplings.

A bit tasteless. Decent venue but very noisy noise level due to poor damping in the venue. Just benches to sit on.

The service was great and friendly, even though it was busy. In between, the cook grumpily slurps through the dining room to have a smoke outside. Food was ok, but probably everything from the deep fryer.

Very nice location with great, friendly service. Had, among other things, meatloaf and labskaus - where else can you get that quality. Various beers too. What more could you want? Will definitely come back...

Great menu with fair prices and loads of classic dishes, good atmosphere and location.

My knuckle was great and the beer was also very tasty. Only my daughter's spaetzle was a bit bland. But all in all it was good.

Simply really delicious food. The portions are nothing to sneeze at. The prices are reasonable. The cheese spaetzle is a dream. You are welcome to order them with any meal for a small additional charge. Hackle Pschorr in the Steinkrug is delicious and goes well with hearty dishes. I find the restaurant quaint. The toilets were also clean.

The most delicious restaurant I have ever eaten in Germany❤️It’s not a surprise at all><And the view and atmosphere are great😍 Delicious milk coffee and hot cocoa, not too sweet. The beef liver ball soup is special and delicious, the seasoning is not too salty, the pig's feet are even better, super crispy, and not too dry inside, the sauerkraut is also seasoned just right, and there are delicious springy potato balls ~ the overall price It’s not particularly expensive because it’s in a tourist area. If you come to Lübeck, don’t miss this one because you’re in a hurry~

Since we couldn't find a restaurant on the Trave where we didn't have the impression that quantity was the only thing that mattered (outdoor areas were far too large and staff too few), we decided on the Paulaner. Delicious food, fast and super friendly service. Great ambience. Only recommended

Actually very nice there. Prices okay. Food was good too. Then it was time to pay. The menu shows the Lillet Wildberry 0.4 liters. with 6.90€. Actually moderate price. But we got 0.2 liters. When I asked the waiter when I was paying, he just fussed and said that's how it's always calculated. Well, the card says 0.4 liters. The invoice says 0.4 liters. We got 0.2 liters. The waiter then left and we thought he would clarify this incident. Unfortunately, he disappeared and this incident was not resolved. SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU USE A 0.4 LTR. LILLET ORDERED.

Ate delicious Kaiserschmarren, we ate in the courtyard, unfortunately there is currently a construction site there. It was very nice with you.

A little outside the pedestrian zone and hidden on a side street is a lovely little beer garden with an extensive menu and good selection of beers. A real light, in the north, a real ray of hope! The soup was very good and filling. Recommendation 👍

The atmosphere is pleasantly Bavarian. The staff were very committed and you could tell that they enjoyed their job. The quality of the food is excellent, I can only recommend the housewife-style herring and the potato soup. And the quantity is such that you will be more than full.

Schnitzels are freshly made and are very tasty. It's very easy to sit outside, but unfortunately the small stones on the ground make it quite difficult to push a stroller.

Rustic restaurant with an attempted tavern style. Service was very friendly. The food was delicious, the salad was fresh and crunchy. The Obazda is highly recommended. Overall it was fine. In some corners more attention could be paid to cleanliness.

Super cozy and it's all super German

We celebrated our son-in-law's birthday there on March 2nd, 2024 with ~70 people and were totally thrilled. There was a Bavarian buffet with exquisite typical dishes. There was a DJ there and everything was great. The landlord and his great crew did a great job and I ate the best knuckle of my life there. It wasn't the last time we were there. We'll be back 👍🍖🍺

Delicious Bavarian food and great Bavarian beer

The two of us visited the Paulaner at lunchtime and were given a relatively warm welcome. For dinner we each ordered cheese spaetzle, baked potatoes with baked potatoes. Turkey strips and liver dumpling soup. The baked potato m. baked. Turkey strips were as expected, but 1 star for that. Now to the cheese spaetzle, in the end it was nothing more than cooked convenience spaetzle with cheese sauce and a few fried onions. In an original way, spaetzle is first sautéed and then served with a hearty cheese of your choice. d. Pan fried. Just this much... The liver dumpling soup was served too salty the first time, but after a complaint and a short wait, the soup was served again. But this still had little to do with beef broth; it reminded me of Baltic Sea water. The liver dumplings as such could definitely have been sold as bread dumplings with 10% liver content. Conclusion: This establishment had little to do with original Bavarian cuisine, as declared. For us it was a very sobering taste experience and expensive at 43.90 euros. The managing director simply acknowledged the complaints.

The delicious pork knuckles and sauerkraut are perfectly matched, and Paulana's non-alcoholic beer is very refreshing. The lady boss doesn't speak English well but is very enthusiastic.

Quaint inn in the middle of Lübeck's old town. The ambience is authentically rustic, the service is fast and relaxed. We recommend, for example, the cellar or the bright one. The dishes are very generously portioned and priced fairly accordingly. I can recommend Paulaner am Dom and would be happy to come back!

Delicious food, fair price. The only thing I need to mention is that the Haxe was a little bit salty. But it wasn't a problem with meat sauce and senf. I am looking forward for my next visit.

Zum wiederholten Mal waren wir hier (vor dem Theater) und zum wiederholten Mal waren wir sehr zufrieden. Handwerklich gut gemachte Speisen, ordentliche Weine, gute Schnäpse, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service - was wollen wir mehr? Sogar die Musik hat uns gefallen! Nur die Portionen fanden wir zu groß - aber auch hier ist das Lokal aufgeschlossen für Änderungen. Wir wünschen uns mehr Lokale in diesem Stil.

Ein sehr leckeres Grünkohlessen hat uns den Tag "versüßt",

Leckeres Essen und nette Bedienung. Satt wird man hier auf jedenfall. Bei nicht so großem Hunger würde ich nach einer Kinder Portion fragen.

Netter Service und leckeres Essen. Ich hatte mich für die Haxe entschieden und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Fleisch war sehr Zart und die Kruste super knusprig. Die Biersauce zur Haxe war sehr lecker. Die Größe der Haxe war sehr ausreichend.

Etwas schlicht in der Atmosphäre für einen Paulaner. Service aber absolut hervorragend. Gegessen haben wir nicht. Das können wir nicht beurteilen.

Ein tolles familiengeführtes bayrisches Lokal mit super leckerem Essen und Getränken. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und wir haben den Abend genossen. Es gab sogar einen Nusslikör aufs Haus, weil wir etwas auf das Essen warten mussten, was wir allerdings nicht nachteilig wahrgenommen haben. Leider kommen wir nicht aus Lübeck, ansonsten wären wir öfters dort. Von daher volle Empfehlung!

Wir haben uns wieder mal sehr wohl gefühlt und vor allem sehr lecker gegessen!😋 Da sind wir sicher nicht das letzte Mal gewesen!😊

Das Essen war gut. Allerdings war die Organisation nicht so gut, da die Tische erst abgeräumt wurden, nachdem man Platz genommen hat. Das war wohl dem Geschuldet, dass das Restaurant sehr ausgebucht war. Dennoch sollte man erwarten, dass das besser funktioniert. Das Personal war sehr nett, aber total überlastet. Die Belüftung im Obergeschoss war sehr dürftig. Die Lautstärke war überdurchschnittlich hoch in dem Raum. Eine Unterhaltung war schier unmöglich.

Wir wurden sehr nett und freundlich empfangen und zum Tisch gebracht. Bestellungen wurden zügig aufgenommen und das Essen ließ nicht lange auf sich warten. Wir hatten Leberknödelsuppe( schön kräftig mit ordentlich Knödel drin) Kässpätzle( mit leckerem Bergkäse, was schade war, dass die Kässspätzle in der Käsesoße schwamen und dadurch die Spätzle matschig waren( wird im Süden so auch nicht serviert). Geschmacklich waren die Spätzle ok. Biergartenschnitzel mit Rahmpilzsoße und Bratkartoffel . Die Schnitzel ( wir hatten unterschiedliche Schnitzelmenüs) waren super Zart die Panade war gut und nicht matschig, schön Golden Braun. Die Rahmsoße war nicht zu dick schön cremig mit genug Pilze. Die Bratkartoffel waren schön gewürzt mit Speck. Wobei ich mir gewünscht hätte dass der Speck nicht so früh mitgebraten worden wäre, dadurch war der Speck teilweise etwas knusprig geworden. Ist kein Kritik Punkt sondern in meinem Augen nur ein guter Hinweis fürs nächste mal 😉 . Familienmitglieder hatten unter anderem Pommes, diese waren genau auf dem Punkt Goldgelb gebacken. Im Anschluss hatte ich noch Kaiserschmarn . Leute ich kann euch sagen, da waren die Spätzle glatt vergessen. Ein Traum von vom Geschmack, sehr gut fluffig und der Apfelmuss dazu rundet alles ab. Preis / Leistung sehr gut. Die Speisekarte ist nicht überfüllt, dadurch ein Guter Überblick und die Gerichte erhalten somit alle gleich gute Qualität. Wir werden uns wiedersehen.

Seit langem mal den Paulaner in Lübeck wieder ausgetestet und den Grünkohlteller mit Kassler und Schweinenacken genommen. Richtig enttäuschend. Für das gleiche Geld gibt es im Blockhouse die deutlich bessere Qualität.

Essen war super lecker, aber 2€ für eine sogenannte Beilagenänderung zu berechnen ist absolut überflüssig. Ich finde es ist nicht gerechtfertigt wenn ein Essen mit Bratkartoffeln angepriesen wird und der Gast aber lieber Pommes möchte dafür 2€ extra zu berechnen .
