We were there for dinner on October 18th, 2024 from noon onwards for Elvira's 94th birthday. We felt very comfortable and the food was also very good. The waiter was absolutely attentive. We would love to come back. Uwe

Unfortunately nothing was drunk or eaten, staff overwhelmed, tables and chairs not cleaned and left after a long wait, it's a shame, great location but too few staff!

I celebrated my wedding here with 25 people and am totally satisfied. The location within the park is beautiful. Without exception, all guests enjoyed the food and the service staff definitely knows what they are doing. No glass had to be empty if it wasn't wanted. Questions were always polite and possible drinks were pleasantly suggested. The operator definitely has a heart for it and was able to respond flexibly to all of our requests. It has always been said that their goal is to make our wedding the most special day of our lives. I would say that the restaurant team definitely played their part. Thank you!

Recommended for lovers of fine excursion restaurants with rustic charm! Centrally located in Hermann-Löns-Park with parking! Especially the shaded outdoor terrace under old trees. The post mill impresses when the weather is nice! Price-enjoyment ratio is right! Kitchen is tidy, service is friendly and attentive. Child & dog friendly. Wish: More guest toilets!

A very nice park restaurant with great decor. Apparently there is a strong demand for weddings, the staff were busy giving advice and a small wedding party was on site. The staff was extremely friendly and very quick. The menu is rather expensive and recommended if you want to go out for a chic dinner in the evening. I think ice cream and cake are more intended for walkers. In my opinion, after a visit to the zoo or the park, it's definitely worth stopping by. The entire team was very attentive and my strawberry cup was delicious!

Worth visiting! .....you put a lot of effort into it, the employees are a bit picky if you only want to order coffee, cake or ice cream when it's still dinner time...the friendliness of the boss makes up for it all

Such a shame! We had a reservation from our friends on Saturday August 3rd. What can I say, the food wasn't exactly inviting. The service was terrible, For a small piece of cake it cost 5.50 euros, we had a terrible day! never again. I only give one star for the food because I can't give it 0.

Very nice service and excellent cuisine. The location (old house on the Annateich) is also really beautiful. The espresso is exceptionally good! I will gladly come again.

Unfortunately the service was very bad. The waiter was completely overwhelmed, we were refused the second drink because we had already received one and there were other guests. The food was swapped and we were blamed because we didn't react when the good man served. It's a shame for such a beautiful location.

We felt very comfortable in the Old Mill again. Starting from the nice welcome, the good wine advice and delicious main course to the rich dessert - panna cotta in different variations - everything was great. We would like to come back soon.

Very bad food. Way too expensive for the quality. No comparison to before.

We had dinner there in mid-June and were very disappointed. We ordered salmon with a herb crust, which was designated as the main course. It was only served with a few thin green asparagus spears. That didn't make a good visual impression and despite costing €28.90, this dish was far from filling. Our assigned table had a view from one side of the entrance hallway, which seemed rather untidy and uncomfortable. Unfortunately there was little atmosphere of an old half-timbered house. A very nice waiter could do little to change this less than pleasant overall impression. We preferred to have dessert at a nearby ice cream parlor. A pity!

It's a shame, it used to be nice there. We were there about 4 weeks ago. By the time we could place our order, the first half hour was up. After about another half hour there was still no coffee or cake, we signed out of the waitress and left. The neighboring tables were no better. A group of older people had at least been served the cake and then sat in front of the cake slices for 15 minutes and waited for the coffee, which didn't come (we were gone then, who knows how long they waited). Maybe the current (apparently new) operator has some insight, admits that he simply can't do catering and is leaving the old mill to a new tenant. Then we'd like to try again. But there's no point in it, as a guest you're just annoyed and amazed at so much chaos and headlessness. It's a shame, the location is far too good to run the restaurant so poorly.

Been there again today for a long time and was really shocked. It used to be clean and cozy with the old owners, but today... three pieces of cake, three cups of coffee and a whole 25 euros. That's 8.33 euros per person for a small, thick-walled cup of coffee and a small piece of cake. The service is catastrophic. None of them can get out, they had to go in there themselves. Nobody came out to collect money, so you had to go back in. The waitress was busy singing and dancing. It's a shame it was really nice back then. Now everything is loveless, dirty and overpriced.

We were invited to a family dinner, great atmosphere, but that was it. Terrible food, poor quality at completely exorbitant prices. The staff was completely uncoordinated, wrong drinks, etc. My conclusion, never again, my daughter-in-law had to pay too much for such a miserable restaurant.

Remarkable! Unfortunately, remarkably bad. There's not much to say about the place: it's really beautiful! Aperitif was good. Starter: smoked salmon cheesecake: OK. Visually successful, taste composition also OK, although too much cake and too much cream. Main course: plaice fillet on mashed potatoes with lime/herb sauce. Optics: good Taste: unfortunately not available. Mashed potatoes tasted like they came out of a bag. The fish - very clear, you almost had to look for it - completely tasteless. The lime herb sauce was a béchamel sauce without the taste of lime, not a trace, a few herbs were sprinkled over it. The staff was friendly, a little overwhelmed. OK, that can still happen. The price still needs a little more practice. A pity.

The food was extremely poor. The soup was completely carelessly served with a few vegetables and egg custard. For the main course, potatoes and meat didn't taste good at all, asparagus and sauce were okay. The service was also good, but overall it wasn't a great experience and it was way too expensive.

We were there at lunchtime today - salmon on green asparagus was brought to us in the beautiful outdoor area. The food was mediocre, bread was not served - the staff seemed untrained: they barely spoke the German language, cutlery was not presented but - like in a canteen - offered in toto on a plate. It's a shame, the previous restaurant had style - all that remained were the relatively high prices

I don't have to say anything about the location. It's obviously in a very nice location. My impression of the interior is also positive. Although the taste of the food was excellent, the quantity and price were absolutely unreasonable. If you plan to fill up, you should either take a lot of money with you or eat something extra before or after. I had a beef fillet with some kind of mashed potatoes. There were two tiny little slices of fillet (about 2cm thick and 5-6cm long) sitting on top of the mashed potatoes (a really small amount). That was all. Add some delicious sauce. The whole thing for a cheeky €39. A scoop of ice cream costs €3. The ice cream was also good, but €3? Never again. The staff needs improvement, I have to say. We were still waiting for a guest who was supposed to come later, but we had already ordered and said that the food should come later. Then the food suddenly came with the statement that it was now ready. Very uncomfortable. The language skills were e.g. T. sufficient. At coffee time it may well be that there are far too few staff there.

Whit Monday at coffee time. The staff was really nice. However, it took too long. Then at some point an apple pie that was, in my opinion, a little soggy arrived and a few minutes later the cappuccino we ordered. This was served in a mini cup and tasted ok and was hot. The small glass of tap water was not served. There is still room for improvement here. Given the goodwill, the friendliness of the service and, above all, the great ambience, I would be happy to come back for dinner again. Let's see.

The place has lost its charm and ambience. The food is overpriced and not recommended - no point for that! The staff was friendly, but untrained. We don't go here anymore. Very sad!

You can tell that there has been a change of ownership. Unfortunately the quality of the food decreased, but it was still ok. We were there at coffee time and sat very comfortably on well-padded chairs under the trees. Unfortunately, a lot of mosquitoes also liked it there 😞 The service still needs some improvement, but was very friendly. Coffee and cake tasted good!

Unfortunately I can't say much about the food because we canceled the order (2 pieces of cake) after waiting 45 minutes. The location is great, it's just a shame that the overwhelmed and extremely short-staffed staff couldn't ensure the guest's well-being. Unfortunately we didn't have a positive experience.

Danger! Please have enough time and nerves and under no circumstances go to the Alte bother hungry. I wanted to invite my little family over for coffee and strawberry cake with cream. Arrived at 2:45 p.m. and got one of the last free tables. Because the coffee business starts there at 3 p.m. All customers who came later were put off and sent home. We got our coffee quickly and it was also very tasty! We got the sugar from the neighbor. And then we waited for the cake. After 20 minutes we asked again and after 40 minutes I went in to pay and went home without cake. Yes it was Mother's Day and yes it's a new team but it still wasn't a nice trip. We will now take a break with the Old Mill and hope that the staff's processes will improve quickly.

Restaurant with a new tenant and great staff. I haven't eaten there yet, so I can't comment on the food.

We went to the restaurant this evening for dinner with the family. Unfortunately, we found that the restaurant had deteriorated significantly under the new tenant. At fine dining prices you can get cold soup, wilted lettuce leaves and a side salad for a whopping price of €7.50. The staff is friendly, but unfortunately not at all trained and unable to serve and clear away promptly, even though the restaurant was almost empty. An expensive evening with a lack of quality. The price is absolutely not justified for this service. The portion of asparagus for 19€, every side dish is charged extra, even the ham, so you end up with 35-40€ for a portion of asparagus (5 sticks). Unfortunately the restaurant has lost its former glory! It's a real shame, given such a great atmosphere.

The celebration of a milestone birthday was to begin at 12:00 with 10 guests - it was a memorable event! After three requests, we finally received the menu cards for the food we had pre-ordered from the host at 1:30 p.m. / around 1:00 p.m. we had at least 4 bottles of water on the table / around 2:00 p.m. instead of dry red wine, a very sweet variant arrived / instead of beer, Hefeweizen / that White wine was at room temperature/ To eat: 1.) Starter: the salad was limp and seasoned with an absolute minimum of balsamic vinegar 2.) the asparagus cream soup consisted of cream with a few half-raw pieces of green asparagus, but was hot. The wedding soup, on the other hand, was lukewarm and the cup was only half full 3.) The asparagus with various side dishes was just soaked in water = raw and was not edible / the schnitzels were wafer-thin, not crispy and had a strange taste / the hollandaise sauce only came to the table after 15 minutes - by then the asparagus was almost raw also cold!!! the lamb chops medium - particularly recommended by the owner!!! - were thin and well-fried and so tough that they could only be handled with the best of teeth / the side dish of asparagus and potatoes ragout consisted of a kind of mashed potatoes, potato pieces and roots!!! and was obviously seasoned with gravy!!! We have the food??? let it be returned and gratefully forego any other kitchen products offered as substitutes / 4.)The best thing was the ice cream with strawberries served around 4 p.m. - which says enough about the quality of the cuisine! Two other companies with around 35 people were also horrified by the incident poor performance of the kitchen and service We agreed to give the Alte Mühle a wide berth under this management in the future!!! Very tasty food. Only the service could be better.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. Although the ambience offers a lot of potential, guests cannot feel comfortable. Overwhelmed staff, poor management and barely edible food mean that you would like to lend a hand yourself so that at least water is on the tables after an hour and the main course is not served at 2:30 p.m. instead of 12:30 p.m becomes. If you want a successful, relaxed family celebration with delicious food, please look for another restaurant!

Nice place! Great atmosphere but unfortunately totally overwhelmed service and bad food! We were with a diamond wedding party and were in the restaurant from 12 p.m. The first drinks arrived after an hour, the food at 2:30 pm!! The lamb fillet was a bony T bone... the service was totally overwhelmed.

Total failure. We were in this restaurant as a large group (26 people). The location is very beautiful and idyllic. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the restaurant. Our hosts had agreed in advance with the restaurant which menu would be served and yet no one was informed. The first round of drinks easily lasted over an hour, only then did each guest have a drink. After repeated reminders, the starter soup was only served 2.5 hours later! The main course finally arrived 45 minutes after the starter. The first guests had to leave at this time and were therefore unable to eat their main course! When we asked for dessert, which was on the planned menu, the boss didn't even know what kind of dessert it would be. Just disappointing! The food also tasted terrible and we all had stomach aches afterwards. On top of that, the food was overpriced. Last but not least, the toilets were dirty. One toilet was heavily soiled, the other had no toilet paper. Definitely not recommended, we won't be coming back.

On the occasion of a diamond wedding, we wanted to enjoy this very special day with good food and drink with 26 guests. But what awaited us was simply unbelievable and very disappointing. Water was only distributed to the tables after several requests after an hour. The starter soup was served to us after almost 2 hours, the wedding soup was lukewarm, the asparagus cream soup was hot. The main course did not come as a shoulder of suckling lamb as ordered, but rather dry, hard T-bone steaks with no taste. Day potato gratin with leek turned out to be a mush with leftover gnocchi from another dish. The vegetarian dish, gnocci with colorful asparagus and goat cheese, came in a paste-like sauce that was totally over-seasoned and unappetizing. The dessert was then fine. The price for this disastrous menu was completely exorbitant. We should have gotten up and left, but we didn't want to disappoint the host. I cannot recommend the restaurant and we will not come back. Last but not least, we are now dealing with rumbling stomachs and intestinal problems. Guys, don't let the beautiful surroundings fool you. There was no apology from the staff, but especially from the manager of the house, despite our immediate complaints. This is not how you treat your guests!

I can't rate the food at all because we didn't even get that far: Had reserved a table for 2 people in advance with confirmation from the restaurant. But there was a “closed party” on site and we could only have had coffee and cake at a small table in the far corner, even though we had reserved for the normal menu, i.e. a normal restaurant visit. But the highlight was the unprofessional comment that we had arrived 5 minutes late. As if this somehow justified our wasted journey when no food could be offered anyway? Very strange. Conclusion: From an organizational point of view, it's so daunting that I certainly won't come back or recommend a visit. It's a shame, because the nice atmosphere in a great old setting at Hermann-Löhns-Park is quite impressive.

The food was very tasty and appetizingly prepared. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating, but not yet very well coordinated. The reserved table was beautifully set. It's easy to take a walk around the restaurant. The toilets were on the first floor. I don't know if there are any barrier-free ones. They have a large selection of cakes and tarts.

What was planned as a nice birthday coffee drink can only be described as a complete disaster. It started with the fact that our reservation for 12 people, which was also in the book, was unfortunately forgotten, so we had to wait outside for a table for 20 minutes. Although we pointed out that this was a celebration of an 82-year-old birthday, the assigned table was simply bare: no candles, no decorations, no napkins, no glasses, no plates - nothing!!!! The service staff was completely overwhelmed, so that part of the cake that was ordered was wrong and some was still frozen! The coffee we ordered was brought (sometimes cold) 20 minutes after the cake. Complaints or repeat orders were then no longer possible because there was simply no more service - this was needed for outdoor use. Paying was once again an experience in itself - standing in line at the checkout! Because of the chaos, it wasn't possible to check whether the bill was correct or not - it didn't matter, we all just wanted to leave!!! It is clear to me that in times of a shortage of skilled workers one has to make compromises, but it would simply have been better to communicate that one cannot accommodate a group of 12 people - a telephone number was stored!!!! Conclusion: An incredibly disappointing birthday party - we will certainly never come back!!!!!

The service was very hectic at the opening and we hadn't finished stocking up yet. The owner also walked back and forth. The cakes and cakes were from the day before. THAT is what they would always be - said the waiter. Ambience very nice.

In der Alten Mühle unsere Goldene Hochzeit gefeiert. Das Essen ausnahmslos 1. Klasse. Der Service rundum vorbildlich. Das Lokal urig gelegen, in einer gepflegten Umgebung. Herzlichen Dank an Frau und Herrn Bursch sowie an das beteiligte Servicepersonal, für den schön gestalteten Tag.

Ein sehr schön im Lönspark gelegenes Restaurant. Das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist in meinen Augen nicht wirklich gegeben. Das Essen war zwar etwas für den gehobenen Anspruch und auch leckerer als die "normale" Hausmannskost, war aber m. E. im Endeffekt den geforderten Preis nicht wert. Schade. Ein, im Preis überzogen, Dessert für angeblich 4 Personen ausgelegt und ang priesen als Zusammenstellung, wurde nett angerichtet, wäre als 4x einzelnes Dessert üppiger gewesen. Schade, dass hier an der Quantität gegenüber einer Einzelbestellung gespart und trotzdem der volle Preis abgezogen wurde. Da fühlte man sich nicht wirklich als "der Gast ist König".

Bei einem wirklich guten Service - bis auf die Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen und einem nicht angemessenen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - ist es vom Ambiente schon ein sehr schönes Lokal. Aber ein Dessert für drei Leute zum Preis von fast 60,- € ist nicht nur überteuert, das ist unverschämt. Keine alkoholischen Getränke, nur 5 Flaschen Wasser, 6 Suppen, 7 Hauptgerichte. Alles zusammen für 450,-. Sorry - das passt alles nicht zusammen - und ich gebe gerne Geld aus.

Kuchen war lecker, Bedienung sehr freundlich allerdings hatte sie viel zu tun und deswegen brauchte man etwas Geduld. Hoffentlich findet sich jemand der aus dem Ort weiterhin ein besuchenswertes Fleckchen macht.

Ein perfektes Essen, an einem perfekten Ort, in einer perfekten Umgebung. Chapeau. Das 3-Gänge Menü war einfach unbeliavble.

Vor etwa einem halben Jahr begannen mein Mann und ich etwas kurzfristig unsere Hochzeit zu planen. Bei der Suche nach einer geeigneten Location bekamen wir von meinen Eltern den Tipp, im Restaurant Ale Mühle zu fragen. Wir selbst kannten das Restaurant nicht und haben uns ganz unbedarft bei einem Telefonat einfach den Termin freihalten lassen. Was für ein Glück wir damit hatten, haben wir erst jetzt richtig realisiert. Vom ersten Moment an war man in der Alten Mühle stets sehr um uns bemüht. Obwohl wir keinen Termin vereinbart hatten, nahm sich Frau Bursch bei einem ersten Besuch vor Ort sehr viel Zeit für uns. Wir konnten immer wieder Fragen stellen, Planungsänderungen absprechen und haben Extrawünsche erfüllt bekommen (z.B. meine heiß-geliebten Mitternachts-Pommes). Den Tag der Hochzeit hätten wir uns nicht schöner vorstellen können. Das Essen - wir hatten ein mediterranes Buffet - war einfach erstklassig, das kann man gar nicht anders sagen. Auch der Service hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. In der Alten Mühle ist der Gast wirklich noch König. Alle sind bemüht, höflich und arbeiten wahnsinnig akkurat. Wir haben uns dort von Anfang an sehr sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt und würden auch jederzeit wieder dort feiern! Noch einmal einen herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team, die so sehr zum Gelingen unseres Tages beigetragen haben!

Hier kann man wirklich wie Gott in Frankreich speisen. Das Ambiente ist etwas kühl und wirkt nicht sehr einladend - dafür ist es außen eine kleine Oase.

Wenn man mit Missachtung seine Gäste auffordert zu gehen, nach mehr als 20 minuten Wartezeit, anstatt ihnen zu sagen das an bestimmten Tischen im Biergarten nicht bedient wird, wir wurden durch einen netten Gast darauf aufmerksam gemacht, is das nich die "feine" Art und Weise wie es das Restaurant vorgibt zu sein. Wir werden aber nochmals wiederkommen, in der Hoffnung auch bedient, bzw. angesprochen zu werden. DANKE, LG Michael Weise

Wir haben hier unsere Hochzeit 2019 gefeiert und die Gäste schwärmen noch heute von dem wundervollen Essen und dem tollen Ambiente. Das Personal hat sich um alles hervorragend gekümmert und auch um 4Uhr in der früh noch ein Lächeln gehabt als die Hochzeitsgesellschaft rudernd auf dem Boden saß. Eine wunderschöne Location mit tollen Mitarbeitern und tollen Chefs!

Ein wunderschönes Ausflugsziel. Es gibt selbst gebacken Kuchen der sehr lecker ist.

Hier gehe ich immer wieder gerne hin. Die Qualität ist schon etwas gehobener, was auch gerade das gute ist. Schade, das evtl. Ende 2023 zunächst Schluss sein soll.

Wir waren am Nachmittag draußen auf der Terasse und fühlten uns sehr willkommen. Freundliche, kompetente Bedienung und eine sehr gute Weinberatung. Unser Hund bekam Wasser und wurde ebenfalls willkommen geheißen.

Eigentlich alles gut, aber so hochpreisig wie in Paris ein 2-Sterne-Restaurant. Die Getränkepreise sind unverschämt. Beispiel Kir Royal kleines Glas (0,1 l) 20,50 €. Matjesfilet Hausfrauenart für 24 € auch nicht ohne. Wie gut, dass ich eingeladen gewesen bin. In der Preisklasse gibt es "anderes" nicht nur in Hannover & Umland, die dann wirklich mit einem Stern um die Ecke kommen.

Herausragend! Diese Bewertung fällt leicht - einfach großartig. Wir waren gestern zum runden Geburtstag meines Bruders geladen und zutiefst beeindruckt. An einem heissen Sommertag empfing uns die Alte Mühle mit kühlendem Schatten. Vor dem historischen Gebäude warteten schön eingedeckte Stehtische auf uns. Die Kellner bedienten uns sehr rasch mit köstlichem Rhabarber Sprizz und kleinen Leckereien. Alles auf hohem Niveau. Bald wurden wir zum Essen hereingebeten. Der Service war perfekt, Getränke rasch am Tisch, die Tellergerichte für immerhin 70 Personen nahezu gleichzeitig an den Tischen. Die Speisen delikat und meisterlich zubereitet, sowohl fürs Auge als auch für den Gaumen! Und alles im herrlichen Ambiente des Gebäudes. Ein großes Lob für den Service und die Küche! Toll im Grünen gelegen, schöne historische Gebäude, Wald, Annateich und eine Bockwindmühle nebenan. Restaurant stilvoll und sehr gute Qualität bei Essen, Getränke, Geschirr...auch für Veggi und teilweise vegan ist gesorgt. Service sehr gut.

Sehr schöne Location an den Seen - draußen wie drinnen. Essen lecker, Service etwas langsam. Also Zeit mitbringen. Ansonsten aber sympathisch.

Ein ganz tolles Restaurant! Der Spargel schmeckt einmalig!

Jedzenie smaczne. Obsługa średnia. Bardzo duży minus za brak menu w języku angielskim.

In wunderschöner Lage am Annateich gelegen mit Bäumen umringt und mit alter, aber äußerst ansprechender Holzvertäfelung ein äußerst hübsches Restaurant. Mehr als genügend Sitzplätze sowohl drinnen als auch draußen. 3 Vorspeisen zur Auswahl, der "Fingerfood" Teller Alte Mühle ist für 16,90 gelinde gesagt eine Frechheit. 2 Gurkenscheiben, Paprikastreifen, und ein bisschen Soße, mit enem Glas Couscous gefüllt und einer kleinen Garnele draufgelegt sowie einer Scheibe Schinken ist für diesen Preis nicht tragbar, und vor allem ist auch nichts davon mit den Fingern zu essen, solange man sich diese nicht direkt im Anschluss waschen will. Die Hauptspeisen wiederum waren, auch wenn sie preislich etwas höher lagen, gut portioniert und äußerst lecker. Spargel ist hier wärmstens zu empfehlen, sowohl weißer als auch grüner. 3 Nachspeisen zur Auswahl, Rhabarbereis, Waldmeister-Wasabi -Eis oder die wohl nichtssagendste Bezeichnung eines Desserts, "Dessertteller Alte Mühle", was auch immer dies ist. Keine grundlegenden Eissorten, die vor allem Kinder gerne hätten (Schoko,Vanille etc.), Sind vorhanden, nur hauseigene Sondersorten, die extrem gewöhnungsbedürftig sind. Es gab auch Kuchen, als wir ankamen, dieser wurde aber anscheinend gegen 19 Uhr eingepackt und "gespendet" und war damit nicht mehr erhältlich. Wie man dazu steht, die einzigen "nicht gewöhnungsbedürftigen" Desserts vor Schluss zu spenden, kann wohl jeder für sich selbst bestimmen. Der Service war zwar durchgehend freundlich, leider stellenweise sehr langsam und mehrmals wurden Dinge beim Abtransport fallengelassen oder umgeschmissen. Alles in allem leider recht enttäuschend, trotz guter Hauptspeise und ansprechendem Ambiente würde ich hier nur wieder einkehren, wenn es wirklich keine bessere Alternative gibt.
