Many thanks to the entire team at the "Alte Mühle" (Old Mill). Everyone involved ensured that our parents' golden wedding anniversary would be a truly special and memorable day. Our wishes and needs were addressed professionally and warmly. The food was excellent, the atmosphere cozy and relaxed – simply perfect from beginning to end. A complete success.

We had a wonderful family celebration at the Alte Mühle. The food was amazing, the service impeccable. We had a small outbuilding all to ourselves, with an outdoor area. Highly recommended!

After a sunny stroll through the Tiergarten and Lönspark, we wanted to treat ourselves to a good lunch in this historic but rather expensive half-timbered house for the first time in many years and were looking forward to a special culinary delight. We really enjoyed the welcome from the kitchen, a surprisingly spiced herb quark with white bread. The unidentified sliced ​​meat (veal, beef, or pork?) with oyster mushrooms and button mushrooms was served on the plate in a tall bowl. A good idea to prevent the rösti cakes lying on the edge of the plate from becoming soggy, a hindrance to practical eating. In the end, the sliced ​​meat and rösti were combined on the plate to be eaten together. The rösti surprised us with their unusual consistency, which was very fine and more reminiscent of a cross between a pancake and a croquette. However, their slightly irregular shape suggests they were homemade. The second dish, tagliatelle pasta in a cream sauce with chanterelle mushrooms, was well-seasoned and sprinkled with generous amounts of shaved hard cheese. The tagliatelle pasta, however, was very "al dente." Not yet cooked? Kept warm too long? Dried out in the oven? No one knows. At least not as it should be. A shame, because otherwise the dish tasted very good. The service was also, unfortunately, very mixed. The friendly waitress brought us the menu immediately, but only returned after a long time to take our order. By the time we could get the bill after dinner, a lot of time had passed, time we would have preferred to spend in the sun. The ambiance is lovely, with a hint of transience emanating from the patina on the silver-plated underplates, which contrasts with the modern black leather chairs, which seem a bit out of place here. But they are truly incredibly comfortable...

We only had one drink. It was lovely sitting outside in the autumn sunshine.

We had coffee and cake. Unfortunately, it took a considerable wait, repeated inquiries, and the drinks and cakes only arrived one after the other. The service seemed completely chaotic that day, with no clear order or oversight. And at €5.50 per (single) slice of cake, it was quite expensive. It's a shame, considering there seems to be real potential here...

Very beautifully located. The decor is comfortable and upscale. We were invited to a small celebration. The à la carte food was extremely delicious, and even special requests were accommodated. Excellent service, even though a large wedding reception was taking place at the same time. Kudos to the service and the cuisine.

I can't rate the food because the service completely ignored us. After more than 20 minutes, we left without being able to order. This was despite asking a server upon entering whether we should be seated or find something ourselves. At most, only a third of the seats were occupied.

Unfortunately, we ordered two cakes, coffee, and juice. We received the coffee, but the rest of our order still hadn't arrived after a half-hour wait.

A great spot in the heart of Hanover. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Some of the dishes are priced at the higher end. A stroll around the Anna ponds afterward perfectly rounds off the visit!

The food is very good. We were invited to a birthday party with a buffet. One point deducted because my chicken fillet wasn't cooked in the middle - that can happen. You shouldn't order tea. Even on our second visit this year, it was too weak and there was hardly any sugar. My neighbor had green tea, but that didn't work either because the water was too hot and it turned bitter. Considering Hanover is in northern Germany, that's rather sad. My tip: no more glass cups, plenty of tea, not just a scant teaspoon, rock candy, brown sugar, cream, etc. like in East Frisia, and then the tea drinkers will also be happy with the amazing cake 🍰. You're happy to spend more money for that.

Very polite, friendly and attentive staff

We ate here on Saturday evening. The food was delicious, but the price/quality/service ratio didn't match. The prices are quite high, which may be justified by the quality of the ingredients, but the overall package isn't up to scratch. The main course was ready too early and was brought before the starter was finished. It was nice, however, to have to stand in the kitchen for a while because it was no longer hot and a skin had formed on the sauce. Some of the side dishes were also missing from the plates. Service was very friendly and helpful. However, it's not entirely understandable why, at these prices (and thus also the restaurant's standards), guests have to clear leaves from their previously reserved table themselves.

The restaurant was closed, but we spent a few hours in the park photographing birds. We saw and heard, among other things, four different species of woodpecker and the Mandarin duck. A lunatic on a bench thought we were interested in photographing him, but we really weren't. But he grumbled, despite explaining that we were only photographing birds. When we saw him drinking a bottle of beer, we knew enough...

Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed.

I was there with my daughter for lunch today. We had a delicious meal and had a lovely seat. The service was exceptionally friendly. I'd go back anytime.

After a bike ride, we were looking forward to a slice of cake and a cup of coffee. Order placed, 2 strawberry cakes, a hazelnut cake, 2 latte macchiatos and 1 coffee. Everything came except the second strawberry cake. After waiting for 10 minutes I went to get the strawberry cake. After 15 minutes my cake arrived. The latte only tasted like milk. Then ordered another coffee. Ordered again after 10 minutes Ordered again after 15 minutes. Ordered from 3 service staff and nothing worked. So no coffee. When paying, I noticed how the gentleman was insulting the young employees Now 2 years ago it was a lot better, service and taste. Never going there again today.

I was there for coffee and cake, was able to sit outside... I can't understand the negative reviews. The selection of cakes was very good. The cake is baked fresh here every day. Cappuccino/coffee was also of good quality. The staff is super friendly. Even though there was a lot going on in the nice weather, I was served quickly and courteously... as written here, I didn't have to wait forever for the bill. Of course, it could take 5 minutes longer if there is a lot of demand in exceptionally nice weather. The restaurant is beautifully located in Herrmann-Löns-Park. I can only recommend it. Anyone who values ​​good food... fresh home-baked cakes, etc. is in good hands here. And quality, cleanliness, friendly staff, etc. comes at a price...but it's very reasonable. If you're impatient... complaining about prices, service, etc.... I recommend a fast food restaurant in the city center.

Incredibly bad food, catastrophic service with completely overwhelmed staff, boring menu, overpriced; 1) Nothing happens for the first 30 minutes 2) Wine is spilled on the table and clothes when being served, the waiter places a napkin on the approx. 40 cm soaking wet tablecloth as a solution. Tablecloth will only be replaced upon request. 4) Roast venison is tough and comes without spaetzle 5) Tagliatelle is drowning in cream and pesto and is almost disgusting 6) The table is only half cleared and the rest is simply forgotten 7) To be on the safe side, no one asks if it tastes good 8) Even to complain, you have to ask many times if you have time for that etc... It's a shame about a good restaurant that is now apparently falling into disrepair. Our tip: go somewhere else so as not to spoil a lovely day.

Once and never again... despite repeated requests, I had to wait a good hour for the bill and then had to pay a whopping €24 for two (half) Aperol Spritz. Can't be surpassed in terms of impudence.

Was there as part of a birthday party and was really shocked. Me, my girlfriend and mother's food was hardly edible and smelled and tasted strange. Something went wrong with every course, for example a dish was served without sauce and then the wrong sauce was brought after we asked. The coffee after the main course was served cold with sprayed cream in the cup, as there apparently was no milk left. The cake, which was supposed to be fresh of the day, was hard as a rock and completely sticky. I'm really sorry for my relative that she chose this store of all places for her birthday... the only bright spot was ONE service employee who was always helpful and friendly, the rest of the staff were hopelessly overwhelmed.

When we made the reservation 4 weeks ago, the employee "forgot" to inform us that only a menu would be offered on the Christmas holidays. This can lead to certain thoughts. We agreed with the house to have a main course from the menu gain weight. It was an Oldenburg goose with breast and leg. Unfortunately we were unlucky, it was tough and very dry. Red cabbage and dumplings were very good. Overall very disappointing.

We were there this evening for the Christmas menu. Price-performance totally excessive. You can also find ready-made vegetables from the soup under the cooked sea bream. For the vegetarian menu, the animal foods were simply removed from the plate. The savoy cabbage is partially wilted, tough and drowned in ready-made tomato sauce. Really awesome!!!

A special place. If you want to eat something more upscale without having to take out a loan, this is the place for you. The map is small but nice. The food is high quality and prepared with love. From the starter (salmon with potato pancakes) to the main course (venison veal with Brussels sprouts and spaetzle) to the dessert (panna cotta with wild fruit sauce), everything was excellent and simply delicious 😋. The staff is open and friendly, you feel welcome. The ambience is cozy and simple, it's not difficult to feel comfortable. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the portions and the quality. We always enjoy coming here and can only recommend it to everyone.

Despite a reservation, we didn't have a set table in the evening, the atmosphere inside was cold and uncomfortable, the service was bad, despite ordering, the wine was forgotten with the meal, the starter wasn't available, the food was average and the price was completely exorbitant. I celebrated my wedding here with 25 people and am totally satisfied. The location within the park is beautiful. Without exception, all guests enjoyed the food and the service staff definitely knows what they are doing. No glass had to be empty if it wasn't wanted. Questions were always polite and possible drinks were pleasantly suggested. The operator definitely has a heart for it and was able to respond flexibly to all of our requests. It has always been said that their goal is to make our wedding the most special day of our lives. I would say that the restaurant team definitely played their part. Thank you!

A very nice park restaurant with great decor. Apparently there is a strong demand for weddings, the staff were busy giving advice and a small wedding party was on site. The staff was extremely friendly and very quick. The menu is rather expensive and recommended if you want to go out for a chic dinner in the evening. I think ice cream and cake are more intended for walkers. In my opinion, after a visit to the zoo or the park, it's definitely worth stopping by. The entire team was very attentive and my strawberry cup was delicious!

We had dinner there in mid-June and were very disappointed. We ordered salmon with a herb crust, which was designated as the main course. It was only served with a few thin green asparagus spears. That didn't make a good visual impression and despite costing €28.90, this dish was far from filling. Our assigned table had a view from one side of the entrance hallway, which seemed rather untidy and uncomfortable. Unfortunately there was little atmosphere of an old half-timbered house. A very nice waiter could do little to change this less than pleasant overall impression. We preferred to have dessert at a nearby ice cream parlor. A pity!

It's a shame, it used to be nice there. We were there about 4 weeks ago. By the time we could place our order, the first half hour was up. After about another half hour there was still no coffee or cake, we signed out of the waitress and left. The neighboring tables were no better. A group of older people had at least been served the cake and then sat in front of the cake slices for 15 minutes and waited for the coffee, which didn't come (we were gone then, who knows how long they waited). Maybe the current (apparently new) operator has some insight, admits that he simply can't do catering and is leaving the old mill to a new tenant. Then we'd like to try again. But there's no point in it, as a guest you're just annoyed and amazed at so much chaos and headlessness. It's a shame, the location is far too good to run the restaurant so poorly.

Been there again today for a long time and was really shocked. It used to be clean and cozy with the old owners, but today... three pieces of cake, three cups of coffee and a whole 25 euros. That's 8.33 euros per person for a small, thick-walled cup of coffee and a small piece of cake. The service is catastrophic. None of them can get out, they had to go in there themselves. Nobody came out to collect money, so you had to go back in. The waitress was busy singing and dancing. It's a shame it was really nice back then. Now everything is loveless, dirty and overpriced.

We were there at lunchtime today - salmon on green asparagus was brought to us in the beautiful outdoor area. The food was mediocre, bread was not served - the staff seemed untrained: they barely spoke the German language, cutlery was not presented but - like in a canteen - offered in toto on a plate. I don't have to say anything about the location. It's obviously in a very nice location. My impression of the interior is also positive. Although the taste of the food was excellent, the quantity and price were absolutely unreasonable. If you plan to fill up, you should either take a lot of money with you or eat something extra before or after. I had a beef fillet with some kind of mashed potatoes. There were two tiny little slices of fillet (about 2cm thick and 5-6cm long) sitting on top of the mashed potatoes (a really small amount). That was all. Add some delicious sauce. The whole thing for a cheeky €39. A scoop of ice cream costs €3. The ice cream was also good, but €3? Never again. The staff needs improvement, I have to say. We were still waiting for a guest who was supposed to come later, but we had already ordered and said that the food should come later. Then the food suddenly came with the statement that it was now ready. Very uncomfortable. The language skills were e.g. T. sufficient. At coffee time it may well be that there are far too few staff there.

Whit Monday at coffee time. The staff was really nice. However, it took too long. Then at some point an apple pie that was, in my opinion, a little soggy arrived and a few minutes later the cappuccino we ordered. This was served in a mini cup and tasted ok and was hot. The small glass of tap water was not served. There is still room for improvement here. Given the goodwill, the friendliness of the service and, above all, the great ambience, I would be happy to come back for dinner again. Let's see.

Danger! Please have enough time and nerves and under no circumstances go to the Alte bother hungry. I wanted to invite my little family over for coffee and strawberry cake with cream. Arrived at 2:45 p.m. and got one of the last free tables. Because the coffee business starts there at 3 p.m. All customers who came later were put off and sent home. We got our coffee quickly and it was also very tasty! We got the sugar from the neighbor. And then we waited for the cake. After 20 minutes we asked again and after 40 minutes I went in to pay and went home without cake. Yes it was Mother's Day and yes it's a new team but it still wasn't a nice trip. We will now take a break with the Old Mill and hope that the staff's processes will improve quickly.

We went to the restaurant this evening for dinner with the family. Unfortunately, we found that the restaurant had deteriorated significantly under the new tenant. At fine dining prices you can get cold soup, wilted lettuce leaves and a side salad for a whopping price of €7.50. The staff is friendly, but unfortunately not at all trained and unable to serve and clear away promptly, even though the restaurant was almost empty. An expensive evening with a lack of quality. The price is absolutely not justified for this service. The portion of asparagus for 19€, every side dish is charged extra, even the ham, so you end up with 35-40€ for a portion of asparagus (5 sticks). Unfortunately the restaurant has lost its former glory! It's a real shame, given such a great atmosphere.

The celebration of a milestone birthday was to begin at 12:00 with 10 guests - it was a memorable event! After three requests, we finally received the menu cards for the food we had pre-ordered from the host at 1:30 p.m. / around 1:00 p.m. we had at least 4 bottles of water on the table / around 2:00 p.m. instead of dry red wine, a very sweet variant arrived / instead of beer, Hefeweizen / that White wine was at room temperature/ To eat: 1.) Starter: the salad was limp and seasoned with an absolute minimum of balsamic vinegar 2.) the asparagus cream soup consisted of cream with a few half-raw pieces of green asparagus, but was hot. The wedding soup, on the other hand, was lukewarm and the cup was only half full 3.) The asparagus with various side dishes was just soaked in water = raw and was not edible / the schnitzels were wafer-thin, not crispy and had a strange taste / the hollandaise sauce only came to the table after 15 minutes - by then the asparagus was almost raw also cold!!! the lamb chops medium - particularly recommended by the owner!!! - were thin and well-fried and so tough that they could only be handled with the best of teeth / the side dish of asparagus and potatoes ragout consisted of a kind of mashed potatoes, potato pieces and roots!!! and was obviously seasoned with gravy!!! We have the food??? let it be returned and gratefully forego any other kitchen products offered as substitutes / 4.)The best thing was the ice cream with strawberries served around 4 p.m. - which says enough about the quality of the cuisine! Two other companies with around 35 people were also horrified by the incident poor performance of the kitchen and service We agreed to give the Alte Mühle a wide berth under this management in the future!!! On the occasion of a diamond wedding, we wanted to enjoy this very special day with good food and drink with 26 guests. But what awaited us was simply unbelievable and very disappointing. Water was only distributed to the tables after several requests after an hour. The starter soup was served to us after almost 2 hours, the wedding soup was lukewarm, the asparagus cream soup was hot. The main course did not come as a shoulder of suckling lamb as ordered, but rather dry, hard T-bone steaks with no taste. Day potato gratin with leek turned out to be a mush with leftover gnocchi from another dish. The vegetarian dish, gnocci with colorful asparagus and goat cheese, came in a paste-like sauce that was totally over-seasoned and unappetizing. The dessert was then fine. The price for this disastrous menu was completely exorbitant. We should have gotten up and left, but we didn't want to disappoint the host. I cannot recommend the restaurant and we will not come back. Last but not least, we are now dealing with rumbling stomachs and intestinal problems. Guys, don't let the beautiful surroundings fool you. There was no apology from the staff, but especially from the manager of the house, despite our immediate complaints. This is not how you treat your guests!
