Great place, we came from out of town, others might have a different opinion, but for us it was simply a fantastic restaurant 👍🏻

It's a cozy, quirky pub in the northern part of town, known for its schnitzel. They also have a huge selection of spirits. We ordered the regular schnitzel, and it was sensational: crispy, airy breading, the meat was incredibly tender, and it was enormous. We also tried the venison schnitzel with homemade spaetzle from the seasonal menu. The breading was good, but the meat was a bit tough (which is fairly normal for game). However, the size and the spaetzle were excellent. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Always a pleasure. The atmosphere is wonderfully old-fashioned, the beer is cold, and almost all the guests speak in an academic manner.

Large portions at normal prices and friendly staff

For me, the Kaiser restaurant is a really honest place, no frills, but with heart. As soon as I walked in, I got that classic pub feeling: dark wood, familiar faces, and the smell of good food in the air. Just my thing. The food? Down-to-earth and delicious. I had a schnitzel that was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Plus a freshly tapped beer, and the evening was complete. You can tell straight away that the food is cooked with love, not just thrown in. What I particularly like is that the staff are really friendly, without seeming fake. They recognize you, they greet you, it feels a bit like coming home. For me, the Kaiser is a place where you go after work, switch off, and just have a good time. No trends, no hype, just honest, cozy, and typically Hanover.

A German gem in the northern part of the city! It was my first time dining there. I had the venison goulash with red cabbage and spaetzle. The price of €25.99 seemed steep at first, but it was completely justified. The portion size was absolutely sufficient, and the flavor was truly impressive! I would come back anytime. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Very good, down-to-earth cuisine and very attentive service. We celebrated our birthdays there with the whole family. The drinks selection was fantastic, especially the whiskeys. We had to wait a bit for the gypsy sauce, but that was okay. It was packed to the last seat, which speaks for itself. We'll definitely go back.

Unfortunately, I also have to criticize the venison goulash. Many things at Kaiser are delicious, but the kitchen failed here. For €25.50, I expect more than spaetzle that were baked so crispy they tasted like French fries, venison goulash with an unpleasantly sour note, and red cabbage that was overseasoned and therefore tasted artificial. It's a shame, and it doesn't help if the waitress thanks me for the candid feedback.

A well-attended, traditional restaurant in the Nordstadt district. I highly recommend reserving a table. My schnitzel was perfect, but my companion's fish and chips weren't as good. Hence only four stars for the food.

The thing has a soul. Everything is good. Something real and down-to-earth. There's a lot to discover and to puzzle over the story behind it.

A restaurant and cozy pub rolled into one. We were wonderfully served on a very spontaneous weekday evening around 8:30 p.m. with a large group. The veal schnitzel was sticking out of the plate on both sides and tasted delicious.

Kaisers is definitely a rustic restaurant with charm. The decor may remind some of English pubs, but it's inviting and, as mentioned at the beginning, exudes a charm all its own. We started with the cream of asparagus soup and chicken soup, followed by the Expo and Andy plates. All dishes were very tasty, beautifully presented, and more than plentiful. We particularly loved the salad garnish, which wasn't your run-of-the-mill iceberg lettuce with white cabbage, but a small, very tasty carrot salad and a mix of leaf salads and red cabbage. The selection of beers, drinks, and, if you like, the various whiskeys is second to none. Our visit was rounded out by the truly friendly and attentive service, who guided us through the evening very well; we'd be happy to come back.

Very well received, setting and atmosphere at the top 👍. Fairly fast service, smiling and helpful staff. Very well eaten and large plate. You have to be really hungry to finish. Simple good. Far from tourists.

The Kaiser was quaint, cozy and away from tourists. I felt super comfortable. The selection of dishes is great and the decision is not made easy. I chose the sirloin steak with salad, no fries and my companion chose the matjes. Unfortunately, I completely forgot that I like the meat rare. But the male service worker also forgot to ask about it. Unfortunately, when it occurred to me and I told the waitress, it was too late. I would have been happy to receive an apology. Two men, in the evening in Hanover, in a corner pub. Very great and rustic atmosphere to feel good, clear menu. Starter salad fresh and very tasty. For the main course there was the venison goulash with spaetzle and red cabbage, which unfortunately wasn't as perfect as the salad. Spaetzle were a bit dry and the red cabbage was certainly not fresh, but rather from a jar and therefore had a lot of clove flavor. The main focus here is probably on the Wiener Schnitzel, which looked very good on the other tables and was ordered a lot. The attention and service were very good, so we had a few beers after our meal. Thanks

Great quaint corner pub in the northern part of town. The employees are all very friendly and attentive, even when the restaurant is full. In addition to a large selection of whiskey, there is delicious food. It is typical home cooking from schnitzel to currywurst and kale. Everything was very tasty and recommended.

I've been there a few times to have a drink with friends. The service is super friendly, even when it's busy. Today we ate. It's been a long time since I had a really good schnitzel and fried potatoes that were actually homemade. I'll stop by more often and I'm looking forward to the kale.

Really a secret place when it comes to schnitzel. Cheap and very good. I can only recommend it. I stayed in a 4 star hotel and ate a schnitzel there for €29, which didn't reach the quality of this local restaurant. But the best thing is that the kitchen is open for a really long time. Finding a parking space nearby is really tricky.

In my opinion a great restaurant/pub with the old charm that I like so much. There is no ground level access and the way to the toilets is up a few steps. The food itself was great. The service came in a relaxed manner. The food was well prepared but it took a while. You can then pay in cash or EC. I'd love to come back.

Super delicious food! Tasted heavenly! My husband and I were in there with our 2 year old son who enjoyed being able to play in peace in a corner while we ate. The waitress was incredibly smiling, sweet and polite. When we have to pay, they suddenly tell us that you cannot pay by card and my husband runs up and withdraws 100 euros. When he comes back and has to pay the €58.60, the man only gives him back €11.40 and starts acting like we haven't paid €100. It's just not right! So that's why you only get 1 star. Super waitress and food, but your male waitress behind the bar, you might just have to think about whether he is cheating your customers.

Great “pub” if you can affectionately call this very old location in Hanover. Very friendly service in a super authentic atmosphere. The food (schnitzel) was really outstanding. Personally, I would think just a small improvement would be great. 😃 A locality with tradition could perhaps also treat a large beer traditionally. Normal is 0.3 and large is 0.5 (not 0.4). Better to take 50 more. But personal taste doesn't detract from the 5 stars. We'd love to come back.

According to the company's own admission, the "Kaiser" has been around for over 120 years; This would make it the oldest restaurant in Hanover. In any case, the ambience is “rustic” and they pay homage to “classic standard German cuisine,” which I would definitely like to express as a great compliment. The menu therefore features the typical representatives of this gastronomic style, such as roulades, schnitzel and of course always seasonal items, such as a great asparagus menu (also with pike-perch). In fact, my Jägerschnitzel was sensationally tasty and filling, at an absolutely reasonable price. It was "hand-made" and fried in deep clarified butter, which resulted in a perfectly crispy breading, awesome! My delighted blackheads' roulades were huge and very tender. Conclusion: As a fan of German cuisine, you will get your money's worth at the Kaiser and leave the restaurant feeling inspired and more than full.

Just as it should be! Very nice service, ambience as it should be in such a restaurant. Based on a recommendation, we were there mainly to eat and we also tried a few things. The giant schnitzel is not an understatement! It was great and really more than huge. There were very good fried potatoes and the side salad 🥗 was very good. In addition to the 3 dishes and dessert, there were a few more 🍺. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back!

Recently went to Gaststätte Kaiser and it was a hit. The spot is all about that homey, traditional German feel. Loved the currywurst - the sauce had just the right amount of spice. Generous portions and the food presentation was spot on. Plus, the staff made the meal even better with their warmth and attentiveness. This place is a must-try for anyone craving authentic German dishes.

Gutes Essen in sehr entspannter Atmosphäre. Man merkt der Gaststätte ihren Charme und ihre traditionelle Geschichte an! Leider war der Grünkohl schon etwas kalt, ansonsten gutes Essen! Definitiv einen Besuch wert!

Traditionelle Eckkneipe mit Restaurant. Sehr beliebt, schneller Service. Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich habe ein Schnitzel mit Pfeffersauce genommen. Es gibt auch andere Varianten, z.B. mit Zigeunersauce, zudem viele Gerichte mit Ei.
