Anno 1901 - Ricklingen in Hannover

I simply had lunch in Anno 1901 while passing through. As an individual, I also got a table ad hoc, even though it was Christmas time. I ate a 4 course menu. There were 3 different menus, with the same starter, starter soup and dessert, with a different main course. The main course was either roast beef, duck or salmon, I chose the roast beef. The price level is definitely higher, the menu with a drink cost ~50€, but the quality is good, so you don't have the feeling of having paid too much. Any criticism I have of the food is high level criticism or personal preference as the food was excellent. The starter, a cauliflower tart on a frisee salad with roasted candied pumpkin seeds. The tart tasted very delicate (so it didn't have a strong flavor itself) and had an unexpected texture, very light, somewhere between fluffy cheesecake and whipped cream, but in combination with the lettuce and the roasted seeds that brought strong flavors into it, a very balanced and good starter . I ate the strained onion soup with the bread that was served and it was very rich and tasty. The bread goes excellently and is served with a few eyes of oil that expand the already rich taste. This is the kind of soup you almost want to drink until you burst. The main course was a roast of Wolowina beef with root vegetables and mashed potatoes. The roast was served on the mashed potatoes, garnished with the jus and brightened up with milk foam for presentation. The roast is so tender that the knife seemed out of place. The jus, i.e. sauce made from the reduced gravy, was excellent. It could have been more, but it was enough. I have to say, though, that I like to drown my food in sauce, especially one this good. Carrots were served as root vegetables, which were just a little too much for my taste as I like them crunchier, but they still had a bit of bite. These were again garnished with the pumpkin seeds that were also used in the starter, which also set a good accent here. Overall, the main course was very harmonious and extremely tasty. Creme Brulee slices and pear sorbet were served as dessert. On top of the pear sorbet was a decorative crispy cracker. To be honest, I would have preferred a crispy thin waffle, like a Frisian butter waffle. The pear sorbet was very aromatic and top. The crème brûlée slice is structured like a gingerbread domino, with gingerbread as the base, a rich fruit jam and the "crème brûlée" on top. The crème brûlée has some pudding added to it and doesn't taste like a classic crème brûlée, so the dish is more inspired, especially with the burnt sugar. It doesn't matter that it's not a classic crème brûlée, as the combination of flavors not only harmonizes, but complements each other. The dessert as a whole is better than the sum of its parts and incredibly delicious. It's clear that if I'm in the area and have the time, I'll definitely eat there again. Last but not least, greetings to the service, attentive but not intrusive, and obviously a very friendly and well-coordinated team. I like being a guest here. In my opinion, Google stars are not meaningful, a fast food restaurant can be just as 5/5 as a very fine restaurant, although in direct comparison the fast food restaurant is a 6/10 and the other is a 9/10 when it comes to food, the Google star rating is an expectation but as an overall rating of the Anno1901 I would say 9/10, maybe even a 10/10 in the overall comparison, the food is simply excellent.

Had a wonderful Christmas dinner and of course we will be back.

I was booked as a DJ for a birthday and from the first contact everything went very smoothly and well. You can celebrate extensively here and the food was very good. Service was friendly and very attentive. Thank you. I'd love to come back.

The Anno is the best...always delicious, always nice service, it's my favorite restaurant. I'm so glad I discovered it. THANK YOU for being here and for allowing me to experience these taste explosions and to continue to experience them in the future.

The food is very tasty. So far, because of Corona, we have only been able to order takeaway food. This was always well packed. With extra packaging for salad, fries, ribs and sauce, the food comes home warm, not soggy with the sauce and nice and fresh. Only the lettuce is very roughly cut and could be finer. The ribs are tender and fall off the bone. These could only be seasoned more strongly. The herb-crusted chicken is also very tasty with the mashed potatoes. All the soups we have tried so far are delicious and still warm when we take them home. We look forward to being able to try out the service on site soon. Update: We have now eaten there several times. The food is very tasty and the service is very attentive. Simply recommended.

I find the atmosphere very cozy. But, here it comes, the food and service is just the best. You'll still have the great taste in your mouth hours later. So, a very clear recommendation from me.

We went to Anno for dinner and wine tasting on October 24th. Wines were great and the food was simply delicious. Unfortunately, my friend got sick at short notice and we forgot to cancel her place (had Corona). We had to pay for them, which bothered us a bit that evening, as we were told.

This is culinary perfection! If you have something to complain about about the variety of offerings or the prices, I think you're better off at Schweinske and Co. (I don't mean to badmouth these restaurants in any way, I just want to make it clear that the demands for good food and good service vary greatly can). And the service is absolutely outstanding, something like this is extremely rare. The food leaves nothing to be desired and offers taste in the finest form.

We were there for dinner last night with 4 people. With a reservation, there wasn't much going on at 6:30 p.m. The service was very friendly throughout the evening, always on point and also asking if everything was OK. Top! We all had different dishes and everything was really exceptionally good. A special recommendation is the carrot vegetables! Definitely a great evening; we will come back!

Very nice restaurant in Ricklingen, excellent German food at a fair price. Pleasant atmosphere, you can chat in peace, the staff is very attentive and friendly.

Hello to all dear Hanoverians! I have a sensational tip for you. I had a wonderful evening today. I was with my family in anno1901. My new favorite restaurant! A very inviting interior, coziness and modernity! Mr. Steven and Ms. Fenya warmly welcome you. Quiet atmosphere and great music. My family and I were surprised and accompanied by Steven and Fenya with wine and food. Hammer! The guys in the kitchen deliver that it's just fun on the plate! I drove home totally happy. If you want to have a great evening with friends or family, just treat yourself to an evening at Anno 1901!!!! It is an absolute highlight and must in Hanover!!! I'll be back there soon. You too?😉

The dishes we ordered were okay but the quantity on the plates didn't justify the high prices. The ability of the staff and the boss to deal with criticism needs to be improved and should not end in insulting the guests. Although we have been to this restaurant several times before, this time we felt very uncomfortable and can no longer recommend the restaurant.

We were lucky enough to have a really great dinner at Anno 1901. The service was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was really very good! Starters were delicious and the main course (Wiener Schnitzel and braised ox cheeks) were really TOP! Thank you for a nice evening. We'd love to come back.

We were looking for a restaurant near our event and came across Anno 1901. Get a table at short notice. The menu is small, but that didn't detract from what's on offer. We were very satisfied with the food. The topic of wine is well presented at Anno 1901 through a special selection. The recommendation from the managing director was a perfect fit. The Anno 1901 has a very nice team. The service is very attentive and friendly. We were so satisfied that we came back again on the day of our departure. And again we were very impressed with the taste of the food. I wish you continued success and satisfied guests like we were. Thank you!

When we were there for Christmas last year, everything was great. Now we were there on September 22, 2024 and nothing was right anymore. The prices had been raised massively, many dishes were taken off the menu and the quality of the food was no longer as usual. The service was also no longer as attentive as before. It's a shame, but that was definitely the last visit

We had a funeral service held here with around 50 guests. The contact with the owner was very personable and competent from start to finish and all requests were addressed, including advice. The food was consistently tasty and to the point and the price-performance ratio was also right. We were very satisfied and can recommend the restaurant without reservation.

We celebrated our wedding last week with 60 guests at Anno 1901 and it was by far one of the best decisions we could have made! The food, the service, the arrangements, the support, everything is an A+ with stars. A wedding couple couldn't ask for more. We had an absolutely fantastic celebration and everything suited us and our ideas. We are very happy to have found this little oasis in the city and, above all, to have a place that we can visit again and again when we want to do something really good for ourselves, because as we all know, the way to the heart is through the stomach! :-) Thanks to the whole Anno 1901 team!!!

We went to Anno1901 for the first time today and are thrilled! I had the lamb shank and I was very surprised, the lamb was super tender and the side dishes were very tasty. The service is very attentive and charming.

We had the pleasure of dining at Anno1901 in Hannover and our experience was nothing short of fantastic. This restaurant not only focuses on excellent service, but also offers a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Service: The service at Anno1901 is outstanding. What was particularly remarkable was the attention given to the needs of our children. We were asked whether the children should receive their food in advance or with the main course. This consideration shows that children are treated as full guests here, which is unfortunately not the case in many other restaurants. Ambiance: The ambience at Anno1901 is simply enchanting. The decor is stylish and inviting, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. You immediately feel comfortable and can enjoy the food to the fullest. Taste: The dishes were a real treat for the palate. Every dish was lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. You can tell that the cooking here takes place with a lot of passion and skill. Value for money: Despite the high level of service, ambience and taste, prices at Anno1901 are surprisingly normal. This makes the restaurant an excellent choice for special occasions without breaking the bank. All in all, our visit to Anno1901 was an unforgettable experience. Our first evening at Anno was the best! After a good 35 minutes we reached the restaurant from Alfeld. When you arrived you were warmly welcomed and the evening started with a bottle of rosé sparkling wine from Buhl. We chose 4 courses and were not disappointed. Everything is homemade, tastes perfect and at a relaxed pace. We have not yet found a better price/performance ratio in the state capital. A suitable wine list is available and is professionally brought to the guest! We would like to thank you for a lovely evening and say: See you next time!!!

We were here with 6 people. Great food, great service and seats were even reserved for us in another bar for the drink afterwards. It doesn't get much better than this.

Wow! Every time again. Inconspicuous from the outside. But inside, the service and quality are simply at their best. Very attentive staff, cheerful, friendly and extremely customer oriented. Here your eyes don't just eat, they can really enjoy themselves here. The soup is not served but celebrated. Just wow!

It was our first time here and we are happy to have finally tried Anno 1901. The food was great, the service was great and the beer garden was very cozy. It's stylish inside, we'll definitely try it out. A few words about the food: someone knows their craft. Small card with great ideas and perfect implementation. We'll definitely be back.

It was a pretty spontaneous decision to eat here... and it was absolutely worth it... a very cheerful, warm welcome... you feel like you're at home! And the food....everything regional and seasonal...everything freshly prepared...absolutely top...also great for allergy sufferers...alternatives are immediately looked for and found! The service also impresses with its knowledge, wit and friendliness...the prices are also great! It's best to book a table in advance! Very good continuous opening times... absolutely recommended! First visit to the restaurant. At first I was VERY skeptical because too many places have opened recently with strange and suspicious ideas. But then the U-turn quickly came: our service staff had an incredibly friendly way of communicating with us: I don't like people with a cane... Whether you like the unasked YOU is a personal point of view. It was well received by us. We all found the prices reasonable, but everything has become a little more expensive. The kitchen's ideas for both the dishes and the presentation of them were great. For mashed potatoes there was e.g. E.g. apples. Isn't there anything special? Yes, because there were no “quickly cut” slices, but rather small cubes. A lot of work, but also a lot of (positive) impact. The drink prices are not exorbitant either. Remarkable: apart from one wine from Austria, there are only wines from German winemakers from a wide variety of growing regions. And it actually works: even a German red wine can have taste and fullness... :) We will come back !

Food was good, but with slight deficiencies. If you like deconstruction in food it's very good. If you like good food, with a solid base, it's just ok.

In an atmosphere that was transformed from a tavern into a modern restaurant, I not only had nothing to complain about with my food (Ricklinger festive soup, Viennese veal schnitzel with warm potato salad, pear sorbet), it was also really very good. The attentive service rounded off the visit to Anno 1901.

Many thanks to the kitchen team and the tactful service for the wonderful day. We celebrated - on the occasion of our golden wedding anniversary - at Anno 1901 with friends and enjoyed the fantastic food selection and the good selection of drinks. I've been wanting to go to Anno 1901 for a few years now, and now it was finally time. As a chef, I have been able to work with really good chefs and also with colleagues from local stars. I'm always happy when I get a really good meal from colleagues in other restaurants. It was exceptionally good here. Starting with the language of the plate, the excellent taste, perfectly crafted and made from the best products. Great and honest respect, dear colleagues. I don't really have much pension, but I happily tipped over 30 percent. You deserve this

Enjoyed the excellent food in a very nice atmosphere with very friendly service staff. We had: spinach cream soup, Ricklinger festive soup, spring roll, apple pork Schäufle, cordon bleu from Duroc Schwein, coconut bars and sorbet. Die Höflichkeit der Mitarbeiter war perfekt.

Liebes Anno, das könnt Ihr besser !! Am Weihnachtstag kamen wir als Familie zum Weihnachtsessen, wahlweise als 3 oder 4 Gang Menü aber einiges war enttäuschend: Die Vorspeise : "gepickeltes Gemüse" wurde angekündigt. Wir waren einstimmig der Meinung, dass es nur rohe Gemüsewürfel (Möhre) waren , ohne Geschmack und Würze oder Säure, angerichtet auf viel zu hartem Pumpernickel. Das Hauptgericht (Klöße, Rotkohl und Ente)war lecker und in Ordnung. Einziger Kritikpunkt: die Soße bitte separat servieren und nicht den ganzen Teller ertränken. Das Dessert: Eine Kugel Eis auf einem durchweichten Apfelkeks. Das Kinderessen war ebenfalls enttäuschend: Pommes waren aus, O - Saft gab es nicht. Die eine Kugel Eis für die Kids lag verloren in Ihrem Schälchen. Kein Keks/Hippe, keine Streusel, nix! . Das Restaurant Speiserei bot in der Vorweihnachtszeit zum gleichen Preis (45-50 €) ebenfalls ein 3 Gang Menü an: Vorspeise: Lachs auf Rösti mit Apfelmerrettich und als Dessert: " Variationen " ...also es waren 3 kleine Leckereien.... Was war nur los an diesem Tag, wir kennen das so nicht und können das auch nicht mit dem super leckeren TOP Ostermenü in Verbindung brigen.

Auffallend "Sternemäßiges" gutes Essen, perfekt zubereitet und drapiert. Preise und Größe der Speisen allerdings auch sehr "Sternemäßig" zur Auswahl standen tatsächlich lediglich 4 Hauptgerichte! Wer das klassische deutsche "Landgasthaus" erwartet, braucht da nicht hingehen. Das Personal super nett, aufmerksam und freundlich! Insgesamt erwartet man so nen Laden eher in der List bzw aufwärts und nicht in Oberricklingen bei dem ich trotzdem gerne 4 satte Sterne hinterlasse.

Also, unsere Weihnachtsfeier im Anno 1901 - Ricklingen, das war schon was. Das Essen? Richtig lecker, auch wenn die Teller nicht gerade übervoll waren. Aber geschmacklich top, da gibt's nix zu meckern. Bier war kalt und gut, und der Wein passte auch. Service flott und freundlich, also Top. Der Hammer war das Kegeln danach.. Kurz gesagt: War ein gelungener Nachmittag/Abend im Anno 1901. Gutes Essen, ordentliche Drinks und ne Menge Spaß. Würd ich wieder machen.

Eine sehr zu empfehlende Location mit hervorragendem, liebevoll komponiertem Essen und sehr freundlichem Personal. Im Sommer mit prima Biergarten und drinnen eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Die Küche ist einfach nur lecker, und die Preise stimmen auch. Der Küchenchef und sein Team sind unglaublich fleißig und um die Gäste bemüht. Und das Anno ist ein sehr angenehmenr Ort für Feiern mit der Familie, dem Betrieb oder den Freunden und Nachbarn. Es gibt sogar eine Kegelbahn! Das Anno ist einfach gut!

Wir hatten eine schöne Hochzeitsfeier im Anno. Das Essen war vorzüglich, das Personal war sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam, unsere Gäste und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war für uns ein rundum gelungener Nachmittag/Abend, vielen Dank nochmal dafür! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war mit 2 Freundinnen hier, eigentlich weil hier auch die Art Night statt gefunden hat, die wir im Anschluss an das Essen gebucht hatten. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, lecker gegessen. Die Speisen waren liebevoll angerichtet, der Service sehr freundlich, wir wurden auch bei der Weinauswahl gut beraten und waren rundum zufrieden. Die Preise waren zwar nichts für das schmale Portemonnaie, aber jeden Cent wert. Auch das Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein. Empfehlenswert!

Knappe Speisekarte und nichts für Senioren. Leider auch um das Lokal permanente Parkplatznot, besser mit Stadtbahn anreisen.

Würde es 10 Sterne geben würde das Anno sie bekommen. Das Essen war wirklich toll, mit Liebe gekocht:) . Der Service war super nett und aufmerksam. Der etwas gehobenere Preis ist auf jeden Fall angebracht . Eins der besten deutschen Restaurants in Hannover.

Wir sind so begeistert vom Essen. Geschmacklich hervorragend. Ob Schnitzel, Ochsenbäckchen, Gulaschsuppe oder Roulade. So lecker haben wir schon lange nicht mehr gegessen. Der Service lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. So freundlich und aufmerksam. Das findet man leider nur noch selten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und empfehlen euch weiter!

Eine sehr gute Speisenauswahl in hervorragender Qualität. Der Service ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Gute Weinauswahl und Beratung. Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich, im Nebenraum leider etwas kühl.
