Ouzeria Symposio in Bremen

The food is very good, but the restaurant is very loud. Apparently, we were mistaken for someone else on our last visit and were rudely told by an employee/manager (?) that we always reserve for three people but always come as a couple! That's not true. The other employees were nice, but their behavior... deduction in the service rating.

My favorite restaurant. Absolutely delicious food and a great selection for vegetarians too. Lovely atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. 5 stars well deserved!

I was blown away by the unusual cinnamon and clove seasoning of the meatballs. Uniquely delicious! Everything else was also excellent. We'll definitely be back to this hospitable and cozy place!

I often come here with friends. I also know Greece very well. For me, it's one of the few restaurants where the food comes close to the original from Crete and the like. Unfortunately, many other Greek restaurants are, in my opinion, just better-quality chip shops.

A great selection of mezze dishes is available. Well-seasoned minced meat rolls in tomato sauce, fried calamari, baked cauliflower and mushrooms with onions, a superb octopus stifado, and baked beans. Highly recommended!

Good but expensive for small portions

The price/performance ratio isn't right. Gyros are relatively expensive, and a bowl of garlic dip costs an extra €3. After three years of visitors, another attempt: the entrance says: open until 11:00 PM, hot food until 10:00 PM. On July 9, 2025, at 9:30 PM, no entry was allowed because they were planning to close. A critical comment about this provoked threatening aggression. Three witnesses.

The two of us were there spontaneously and were immediately informed that without a reservation we would only have a short period of time of around 60 minutes. That was fine with us. All the staff were very nice, the food was excellent and the price was completely reasonable. We just found the fact that a large Cola is just 2 small ones a bit strange, but maybe we missed that too.

We really enjoy going to the Ouzeria. Good quality for years and always very nice staff. We always feel really comfortable. Keep it up :)

The restaurant is small, but that's what gives it a cozy atmosphere. You will be warmly welcomed and served by the staff. The food is incredibly delicious. Getting there by car is a bit difficult, but it's more relaxing to take the tram anyway.

I recently went to this Greek restaurant and absolutely loved it! I tried the mixed meat plate and it was simply fantastic. The meat was perfectly cooked, juicy and very tasty. The ambience in the restaurant is cozy and inviting, ideal for a relaxing evening. The service was very friendly, attentive and polite, which made the visit even more pleasant. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, so there really is something for everyone. Despite the variety, the food came to the table surprisingly quickly without any compromise in quality. The price-performance ratio is also right here: you get great quality at a fair price. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant!

Nice Greek restaurant with a really good concept. Instead of huge mountains of meat, as is usually the case in (German) Greek cuisine, there are small dishes where you can eat wonderfully different things, but vegetarians also get their money's worth. The taste was great and the wines were good too. In terms of price it was absolutely reasonable.

I had the great pleasure of visiting Ouzeria Symposio and can highly recommend this place. The name “Symposio”, which in Greek stands for communal, sociable drinking and eating, really says it all here. As soon as you enter the small, cozy restaurant, which describes itself as an “Ouzeria” (a small restaurant where freshly prepared food is served with drinks), you feel welcome and transported into an atmosphere of true Greek hospitality. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. The “Mezedes”, which are served in small portions, are real culinary delights. Every dish is prepared according to traditional recipes from different parts of Greece and, of course, fresh every day. It was a real pleasure to taste these exquisite little delicacies. I have never had such authentic and delicious Greek food. The portions were perfectly balanced - not too big, not too small, so you could try the variety of dishes without feeling overloaded. In addition to the “Mezedes”, the menu also offers a variety of other Greek dishes, salads, soups and desserts that round off the offering. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent selection of Greek wines and ouzo, which perfectly complement the dining experience. Another plus point was the extremely friendly and courteous staff. Every wish was read from your lips and the service was always attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that people work here with heart and passion. The only downside was that no card payment was possible. You should keep this in mind and bring cash with you. However, this does not detract from the overall experience, because the Ouzeria Symposio impresses across the board with excellent food, perfect service and an atmosphere in which you simply have to feel good. A visit is absolutely recommended!

First of all, the menu reads very well. The food was quite disappointing Especially the Mezedes. I can't recommend the octopus for €18.20. Even 4 pieces of grape leaves for 10.10 are not justified. For the main courses, the Gemista - Vegetarian tasted very good, but the Gyros didn't. Prices for drinks - beer €4.90 for 0.4 For 0.2 wine €7.90 Importantly, no card payment is possible

Da wollten wir schon lange mal hin. Kleine griechische Tapas probieren und uns auf Entdeckungen freuen. Tirobukiesa und Tiganito Kunpidi, zusammen mit dem Arnika Filter, das extrem lecker war. Dazu Feta Psiti und Tzatziki, dass eh auf den anderen Speisen war. Egal. Als Dessert gab's Joghurt und Ravani. Auch beides zu empfehlen. Wechselnde Servicekräfte machten die Komminkation nicht immer einfach. Als der Chef kassieren kann und wi ihn fragten, wann es denn Mythos vom Fass gäbe, antwortete er schnöde: Nie. Das kann man besser lösen. Location ist im Sommer ganz schön, Essen prima und teilweise auch spannend.

I ate well here, no doubt. The service is friendly and quick. The dishes are tasty. Now three BUT: The restaurant is located directly at a large intersection with fire department access to the hospital - it is very loud. The furniture is older and needs to be replaced. And: The price-performance ratio is extremely strained. We had 6 regular small mezzes and three drinks for a whopping 100 euros. This is tight.

Great location and great restaurant but the fact that you can't pay by card is really not good service. You feel very overwhelmed if you eat there without cash. Should be modernized...

Hands down the best real Greek food in Bremen. Make sure you reserve a table on the weekend as they quickly get full. For the best experience, share a lot of small plates with a group!!!

The atmosphere (relatively small and therefore very cozy), the service was very quick, nice and accommodating. The food (lamb ragout) was very tasty and wasn't heavy on the stomach. The prices are a little higher than at comparable Mediterranean restaurants, but given the quality, they are completely appropriate! The only negative point: the parking situation is suboptimal! Otherwise the restaurant can be fully recommended!!

This is the best greek restaurant outside Greece I have ever been. The food is really amazing cooked with skills and excellent ingredients. Don't go for the easy Giros choice. Try soutzoukakia (meatballs in tomato sauce) or the shrimppasta. I promise you will not regret it!!!

Essen recht hochpreisig. Vorspeisen, von denen die Servicekraft 2-3 empfiehlt, kosten um 15 Euro! Großes Problem war aber, dass man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann! Es hängt ein mini Schild am Eingang, das wir aber von unserem Platz gar nicht sehen konten und man wird nicht mdl. darauf aufmerksam gemacht! Der nächste Geldautomat ist gefühlt 1km entfernt . Das geht besser...

Guter Grieche, aber auch etwas teurer.

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen,es war alles super lecker. Dem Personal im Service unsere Hochachtung, obwohl viel zu tun war brauchte man nie lange warten und jeder Wunsch wurde sofort erfüllt. Beim Ambiente ein Punkt weniger weil im Lokal leider eine unangenehme Geräuschkulisse herrschte so das eine Unterhaltung zeitweise sehr schwierig war. Dafür kann das Personal aber nichts und es ist nun mal so. Wir werden gerne mal wieder kommen und können dann hoffentlich draußen sitzen.

Sehr gutes Essen, was aber auch seinen Preis hat. Hier kriegt man nicht die typischen wuchtigen Fleischportionen, aber dafür hat alles sehr viel Qualität. Ich würde sagen der gehobene Grieche.

Ein Geschmackserlebnis!! Besser geht es nicht! Die Portionen sind nicht groß, dafür jedoch hochwertig und schön angerichtet, man kann zu zweit ruhig vier Gerichte auswählen. Innen und Außen sitzt man sehr gut.

SO VERGRAULT MAN ZAHLENDE KUNDEN IM GROẞEN STIL! Völlig unangebrachtes, unprofessionelles, derart überhebliches und peinliches Verhalten vom Kellner mit Fliegenbrille. Nach dem "Hallo" war der erste Satz, ob wir denn vorab etwas zu trinken haben möchten. Dies wurde verneint. Daraufhin entflammte ein ellenlanger Monolog vom Kellner ausgehend, was uns denn einfallen würde, kein Getränk zu bestellen. Er wurde dabei auch lauter und sichtlich verärgert. Absolut FRECH. Statt unsere Hauptgänge + Desserts aufzunehmen, fängt er einfach an unnötig rumzumachen. Guter Umsatz innerhalb von wenigen Minuten verpufft. Auf unsere Frage hin, dass wir hier auch nicht essen müssen, kam ein kindisches "ja, machen Sie doch... ". Absolute mangelnde Kernkompetenz und sicherlich nicht kundenorientiert. Der zur Hälfte besetzte Außenbereich hat natürlich voller Fremdscham alles mitbekommen. Als Chef müsste man diesem Kellner gehörig den Kopf waschen, wenn nicht sogar fristlos kündigen. Das grenzt an Arbeitsverweigerung, sorgt für Umsatzeinbrüche und schadet allen MitarbeiterInnen! (siehe andere Google Rezensionen) Sollte der Kellner mit Fliegenbrille der Chef sein: ??? Nette Abende mit unseren Freunden mit Vor-, Haupt- & Nachspeisen samt Getränken wird es in diesem Lokal nicht geben. Nicht zu empfehlen. Wir haben ein paar Straßen weiter sehr leckeres Essen und einen tollen Service genossen.

Essen lecker und Service super gerne wieder

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, besonders die Mezze sind zu empfehlen. Allerdings sind die Portionen, was den Preis betrifft sehr klein. Das Restaurant ist über zwei Ebenen gut aufgeteilt eingerichtet. Nur die Akustik lässt zu wünschen übrig. Sobald die meisten Tische belegt sind ist die Lautstärke so groß, so dass eine Unterhaltung mit mehreren Personen am Tisch fast nicht mehr möglich ist. Der Service ist nur bei der Erstbestellung aufmerksam. Danach wird man weitestgehend ignoriert. Eine Reservierung ist nicht ohne Diskussion möglich. Wir wollten für sechs Person eine bestimmte Ecke reservieren. Das war zunächst nicht möglich da die Ecke nur für acht Personen reserviert werden kann, außerdem sollten wir dann eine Stunde später kommen da dann die Ecke die zwei Stunden davor noch besser vergeben werden kann. Außerdem ist nur Barzahlung möglich. Ein Unding im digitalen Zeitalter, wo man anderswo bereits mit dem Handy bezahlt. Fazit: Essen ist gut und anders als bei einem "gewöhnlichen" Griechen, Ambiente und Service haben aber enormes Verbesserungspotential.

Leider war mir meine Weißweinschorle etwas zu lieblich. Ab das ist Geschmackssache.

Portions are big. Food is tasty. Service is good. Unfortunately, there was only bottled beer with not too much of a choice, according to the staff the tap did not work.

Die Lokalität verfügt über ausreichend Plätze im Aussenbereich. Unser Tisch wackelte ein wenig, was sich aber schnell beheben ließ. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Die Speisekarte bietet verschiedene Kleinigkeiten der griechischen Küche. Mit mehreren Personen am Tisch kann man einfach mehrere Dinge auswählen und jeder kann von allem probieren. Wir (zwei Personen) entschieden uns zum einen für die hausgemachten Weinblaetter. Diese waren definitiv selbst gemacht, zumal sie nicht ganz einheitlich geformt und groesser als das Dosenprodukt waren. Die Füllung war lecker und die Blätter waren sehr zart. Zudem bestellten wir noch die Rote-Beete-Creme, die etwas an roten Heringssalat erinnerte. Das Lammfilet war sehr schön gewürzt, sehr zart und exzellent gegart. Es hätten für den Preis nur gerne ein paar Filetstuecke mehr sein dürfen. Die frittierten Käsebaellchen waren ebenfalls schmackhaft, allerdings nicht ganz so fluffig wie erwartet. Vor dem Essen wird ein Ouzo angeboten, der sehr mild ist - vermutlich Pilavas. Wir waren froh, in Bremen ein griechisches Restaurant gefunden zu haben, in dem auf mit Gyros und Krautsalat überfrachtete Mammutteller verzichtet wird und man sich authentischer griechischer Küche annähert.

Ich hatte vor dem Flug noch ein wenig Zeit und wollte was vernünftiges essen. Der Service muss hier besonders hervorgehoben werden. Zuvorkommend, freundlich und sehr schnell. Ob es nun die Getränke waren oder das Essen. Das Essen ist auf einem guten Niveau. Das was man erwartet, bekommt man auch. Für mich eine klare Weiterempfehlung!

Wir hatten hier einen ganz tollen Abend. Der Grieche hier ist alles andere als Standard und ihr solltet auf jeden Fall ordentlich von den Vorspeisen probieren.

Grichisch mal anders....sehr lecker und sehr freundliches Personal...

Ich war zum ersten Mal bei diesem Griechen, da er mir empfohlen wurde. Ich habe eine vegetarische Gemüsepfanne in Tomatensud und mit Schafskäse überbacken, bestellt. Das Essen kostete 15.90 Euro!!!, der Preis war enorm gestiegen, wie man es noch auf der Preisliste sehen konnte, da die Preise nur überklebt waren. Teilweise sind sie um ein Drittel gestiegen. Ich erwartete einen reellen Auflauf mit viel Leckerem geschmolzenen Hirtenkäse. Es kam eine kleine Pfanne mit einer sehr überschaubaren Portion Tomatensoße, worin eine wirklich kleine Portion Zuccini und Aubergine schwamm und der Hirtenkäse war wirklich ein Witz, von wegen überbacken, ich musste ihn regelrecht suchen. Es waren drei oder vier kleine Flocken, wirklich eine sehr bescheidene Menge, man könnte auch von Flöckchen reden. Ich fühlte mich übers Ohr gehauen bei dem Preis. Nie wieder und so werde ich dieses Lokal auch weiter empfehlen.Leider versucht wohl auch dieses Lokal wegen der Inflation mit total überzogenen Preisen reich zu werden. Ach ja, geschmeckt hat es, aber satt bin ich nicht geworden, obwohl ich eher schmal bin und kein großer Esser. Sehr ärgerlich!

Wir haben uns es hier heute Abend gut schmecken lassen. Herzliche Bedienung, sehr gutes Essen und fabelhafte griechische Rotwein und das alles zum fairen Preis. Einfach Spitze!

First time eating out in Bremen, and I'm thankful that the Restaurant Guru app lead us here. Great food and atmosphere and an absolutely fantastic staff. My wife and I had our very first weekend away from our todler, celebrating her victory in a public speaking contest. These guys made our celebration a five-star experience. Thank you, you rock! 🙂

Sehr schönes, lichtdurchflutetes Lokal mit leckeren Speisen, die man gut miteinander teilen kann. Es gibt auch eine große Auswahl für Vegetarier. Vom Brot hätte es etwas mehr sein können, aber der Rest war super. Preise ok, Service sehr professionell, schnell und freundlich. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auch draußen sitzen.

Immer noch keine Kartenakzeptanz, eigentlich ein no-go in 2023.
