Oukan Dining in Berlin

It's worth it! The food and the selection of teas and drinks were very tasty and the atmosphere in there is awesome - the pictures here don't convey that. Service was also very good.

An opera of flavours. Any conversation topic you bring to the table will be dimmed by an intense need to describe to your dining partners the combination of flavours, textures, smells, and colours you're experiencing. Wanted to discuss your Goodreads recommendations? Recent developments in AI safety? House renovation plans? Forget it. You'll end up trying to find the right adjectives to describe the pictures created by the mosaic of sensation in your mouth and looking up ingredients whose fantasy-sounding names you're hearing for the first time. Like an opera, visiting Oukan is nearly overpowering for all the senses, with dimmed light and minimalist decor accentuating all aspects of the dishes and non-patronising, attentive staff accompanying you like a caring opera choir. Sensory immersion is so deep that you won't even have the mental bandwidth to document the experience as food pics for instagram. Special kudos for a new take on sorrel. Turned into a palate-cleansing sorbet became a very different experience than the childhood nightmare of many Polish kids, the sorrel soup. Misc thoughts: Absolutely top use of lights. Worth dressing up for. Both caffeinated and decaf tea pairing is worth it. this is 8/5 stars. For real.

Three of us ate here and were pleasantly surprised! The ambience is very inviting - spacious without seeming too industrial. The music was pleasant and not loud, the food came quickly and was very varied, also in terms of the dining experience. The different courses were very tasty and original. You should just note that with the large drink pairing with alcohol, you really get a full-size alcoholic drink with each course, which is a lot for 7-9 courses. I had the tea pairing and it was wonderful and perfectly paired with the food. This restaurant is worth it for that special occasion! We went home full and had a lovely evening.

Delightful food, wine, service and environment.

Great vegan food. We had seven courses, of which some were extraordinary and all were very good. Unfortunately the wine could not convince us in the same way and the service was ok-ish. But definitely worth a visit.

A unique experience. I was a little hesitant when making the reservation because the price can easily lead to disappointment. However, as both vegans and omnivores, we were thrilled. The courses were all appealing and tasty in their own very different way and were well presented. The dishes really deserve to be called fine dining! Even though we chose tea from the menu instead of the tea accompaniment, I would particularly like to praise the tea. We really enjoyed the visit.

The place is beautiful, the staff very friendly and attentive. But the food... just wasn't very good. Maybe two of the 9 courses we had I really liked, and one of them was a little salty (and I like salt!). The rest were either unremarkable or everything was pushed to the max: saltiness, acidity, spice... it just wasn't balanced. And that's just not good enough for a 99€+ menu.

This is the kind of place that makes me regret giving any other place a 5 star just so I could have saved that for this level of excellence. I took my dad here for his first experience with fine dining. He isn't a fan of much other than red wine. The sommelier (Jonathan) very kindly accomodated the alcohol pairing to this wish without compromising anything from the quality. The dinner was amazing. It is my second time in Oukan and it remains one of my top 3 restaurants, all around Europe for fine dining. The chef has a diverse palette of tastes, textures and styles mastered. The serve nice selection of both warm and cold courses (unlike some who only serve cold), with an expert emphasis on fermentation. I frequently remember the pickled radishes from my last visit and wish I could find more of them. The chef can make even the most common of the ingredients into a delicacy through fermentation. And our waitress Aliya has been attentive, informative and kind. My father doesn't speak any of the languages they serve in so I had to translate the explanations. Aliya has been patient with accomodating us and utmost helpful in every way possible. My father had a magical experince that turned him from saying "Fine dining seems like a scam" to "I can't wait to visit again". And I will definetly be returning for every menu update.

The food was exceptionally delicious and creative! We got to know new flavors here that we haven't gotten anywhere else. The tea accompaniment in particular was an absolute highlight! Everything was meticulously coordinated and the balance of flavors was 100% successful. The decor is very modern and impressive. One point is deducted for our waiter, who was a bit unpleasant, the acoustics and the fact that we weren't full.

Our visit to oukan was great. We expected something special but it far exceeded our expectations. First of all, the atmosphere and decor. Everything is kept dark with the perfect exposure. The service was very friendly and offered us a table in the corner so that the dog could accommodate better. The courses were each full of such fine and exciting flavors, it was such a joy to enjoy them. Every course was so pretty and lovingly prepared. There was nothing that was boring, every bite was a taste explosion. Very special highlights were the sauces and broths, which were very spicy and umami. The desserts were also a blast. Thank you! We will definitely come back and will definitely recommend it.

Exciting entrance in the backyard, black ambience and great service. A lot of love and high-quality ingredients went into the preparation of the various dishes. Everything was delicious, but it took some getting used to for me... I am not and will not be vegan. It was a great evening.

Could this have been the best meal of my life? The next day I reflect and say quite possibly. A transformative meal with friends as a wedding gift. This is not our usual type of meal and my wife is vegetarian (and I try not to stray too far to the dark side) so many traditional high end places don’t fit the bill or aren’t worth it since she won’t be prioritized on the menu. A wonderful atmosphere for healthy and creative Japanese-influenced vegan cuisine. In a booth with friends we enjoyed 4+ hours of course after course we will never forget. While it is difficult to summarize the depth and breadth of the plates, we loved the use of mushrooms (grilled, in dashi, in fermented noodles…) and the care with which the staff explained dishes and answered even our simple questions about wine or ingredients. We learned a great deal, left inspired and enjoyed so much our meal and the wonderful savors. Thank you to Oukan, the kitchen and the team.

The dishes, a stunner, an endless delight for the palate. Incomparable and unforgettable variations that are worthy of one (or more) Michelin stars. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly yet down-to-earth and human. In short: you feel completely comfortable and welcome. The ambience impresses with its darkness, purist clarity and accentuated light creations. The enormous ceiling height and a mirrored corridor in the entrance are impressive.

My impressions/opinion: Technical errors in the kitchen (bitter sauces, raw grilled ingredients). Waiting times of 25 minutes between each course made visiting a test of patience. Wine pairing didn't make a coordinated impression. The natural wines and sake were mostly meaningless in terms of taste and the acids were an annoyance to the stomach. We had some courses and glasses go back! Service inexperienced, but honestly tried. Not a single glass during our evening was free of water stains or dust or debris. Porcelain usually had chips. The greeting from the kitchen wasn't even positioned correctly on the table when we complained about the dust/hair in the small porcelain bowl. Despite the birthday being announced in advance, no attention. No goodwill regarding returned dishes. Atmosphere quite okay. A dark labyrinth of non-standard stairs. No amenities on the toilet. For a perceived 800kcal energy value without a significant proportion of fat and protein, overall unbalanced compositions, also in terms of price/performance (approx. €400 for 2P). Unfortunately there is no vegan restaurant after visiting which I can say I didn't miss anything. We finished it after more than 3 hours and left the restaurant feeling hungry. Consequently, I cannot recommend it.

The Oukan offers an exceptional and unique experience. The vegan, Japanese-inspired cuisine impresses with its variety and depth. Each course is presented with great care and attention to detail and accompanied by an excellent tea master. The service is almost perfect and the special types of tea enriched the entire experience. A small point of improvement would be the lack of signage to the toilets. Apart from that, I can only warmly recommend Oukan and am already looking forward to my next visit!

A culinary experience in a class of its own! Oukan presents cuisine that, in my opinion, is absolutely worthy of stars. The creative dishes take the taste buds on a fascinating journey. I was particularly impressed by three highlights: the Kombujime Eringi surprised with unique textures, the Kushiyaki offered perfectly grilled flavors, and the Ya Bao Sandwich was an ingenious fusion of tradition and innovation. The tea accompaniment deserves special mention - it rounds off the taste experience perfectly and highlights the nuances of the food. The service was consistently attentive and friendly. The staff took the time to explain the individual courses and were always available to answer questions. Oukan is definitely worth a visit and for me is one of the top addresses in the city. Absolutely recommended for gourmets and tea lovers!

We went to Oukan for the first time on a recommendation and were very impressed. The vegan menu was first class. The tea accompaniment was quite unusual and went perfectly with the courses. Very attentive and communicative service. The next time we are in Berlin we will come back.

We discovered a true pearl in Berlin. The atmosphere: dark, Japanese-inspired, calm and spacious - a place of relaxation. The service was outstanding, charming and attentive without ever being intrusive. In terms of cuisine, we experienced plant-based creations that overwhelmed us with their umami explosion and the perfect balance of complexity and simplicity. Each course was a work of art in itself. I had a reservation for two people at your restaurant on August 21st. We were both very satisfied, for me personally it was completely new territory and I was very excited about it. The dishes were delicately seasoned, nothing was too much, nothing was too little. The different courses were explained in detail: the ingredients, the preparation, ... questions were asked about any intolerances. I have never experienced such friendly and courteous service. An unforgettable experience As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was amazed by the impressive interior design. A harmonious combination of design, colors and materials creates an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The menu leaves plenty of room for surprises. Each dish is a creative masterpiece that not only impresses in terms of taste, but also impresses visually. The service was outstanding. The staff was courteous, friendly and extremely competent. We enjoyed a wine/tea accompaniment to the 9-course menu. The tea sommelier and the wine sommelier presented an exquisite selection of drinks with a lot of passion and expertise that went perfectly with the dishes. It is the ideal place for anyone who wants to enjoy innovative vegan cuisine in a stylish setting with first-class service. An absolute recommendation, a delicious experience not just for vegans. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

My girlfriend and I went there to celebrate her birthday and the staff were just incredible. They were present and attentive the whole evening, which certainly made an impression. The food was just incredible, amazing flavours of vegan food with the highlights being different kinds of mushrooms. The whole evening was very special and we would love to return when we get the chance. The wine list was also quite nice and the sommelier certainly did a great job. Huge thanks to all the staff for giving us a wonderful evening!

What an evening. I would never have thought that a menu with tea and wine would harmonize so well and that mushrooms could be processed so differently and deliciously. The location is also awesome - an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Berlin-Mitte. Thank you also for the perfect service.

The whole experience was very nice. Service was very attentive and helpful and the food was simply amazing.. my wife doesn't really eat mushrooms but she was definitely in love with everything we had. If I should say something, it will only be that a few waiters I couldn't really understand but perhaps it was just acoustics and it was completely okay they were very authentic. Keep the good work!! It really is worth a bit of a detour! We really wish you the best and more success!!

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for almost two years now and I finally did it. It is a decadence I was willing to indulge in and it was worthwhile. From the little door, the luxurious yet Zen corridors it was breathtaking. The service was stellar, the food…. bursting with flavour and aroma evoking your tastebuds; God, it was absolutely divine! Great Restaurant with amazing staff and food, this restaurant offers you a real dining experience, with all made in house, fermatntation etc. The basement is almost like a laboratory!

Exceptionally beautiful vegan restaurant. The food is prepared very professionally and tastes excellent. Each course is explained and all ingredients are mentioned. Intolerances are also addressed and taken into account during preparation. I can highly recommend this restaurant and will go there again on my next visit to Berlin.

Haute cuisine of vegan cuisine!!! Absolutely fantastic, for me completely innovative, very informative and incredibly nice restaurant manager who treated us confidently and patiently accompanied me through all the courses, with his sommelier from Italy, who served me a fantastic wine accompaniment and my wife very tasty teas to go with the meal. A fantastic experience for us, which I can only recommend to everyone.

Nice interior with small number of places and work opportunities. I personally didn't like the matcha latte, nor did the promising-looking matcha tiramisu that had jam in it. Overall the store looked very promising, but personally disappointed me

Food and service were of a quality rarely seen in Berlin, the interior design and atmosphere make you feel like you cross a different space and time, and finally the drinks and wine menu is very well crafted and the staff is very knowledgeable and will help select amazing pairings (cheers Ann - sake sommelier !). What a wonderful evening with my little Foodie group. 😁 The moment you enter the door to @oukandining you leave the city behind and you dive into their world. And their world is beautiful and calming! 👌🏼 And just as beautiful are their dishes. My clear favorites were the mushroom dishes but every single plate was easy on the eyes and a lovely tease to the palate. 🤤 Also I want to use this opportunity to praise the service. It’s been absolutely amazing!! 🙏 I am not being paid for this but this is a recommendation and also a great spot to spend date night at. 😁

Finest dining experience. The menu was excellent and every dish had a very unique and soft taste. The teas on offer are also great.

A little biased towards a purely vegan “fine dining” menu, I was absolutely positively surprised at Oukan. Although Oukan doesn't have a Michelin star, its vegan menu is on par with those in starred restaurants. The welcome was warm, the interior and atmosphere unique. The service definitely deserves five stars and our 6 course meal was incredibly tasty. Each dish was prepared with great finesse and careful thought was given to how to cleverly present different flavors using purely plant-based components. There was an abundance of umami flavors with clear Japanese influences. A little culinary journey for the palate. For €89 it was a highly recommended experience!

For the complete 8-course menu (including the two optional dishes), including drinks, it costs almost exactly €200. This is fair. You don't leave hungry either :) Gladly again!

The place is worth the visit for the experience. Yet a bit too expensive in my opinion. A lot of the dishes evolve around different mushrooms, would be nice to see more variety.

Probably the best dinner of my life so far. (Just that) The atmosphere that reigns in the place is really calming, the interior design is good, the accuracy of the lighting as well: subdued atmosphere while emphasizing the dishes that we are offered and that we take pleasure to observe. The acoustics are also perfect: you can hear others while maintaining a feeling of intimacy. Not all the servers delighted us, but the quality of the food we tasted surpasses everything! It was really delicious, full of tastes, textures, originality, all in sobriety... Absolutely brilliant, thank you.

It was my first time there... and what can I say... it was amazing!! An incredibly great, detailed, unusual menu, perfect service from 2 very friendly ladies who had a lot of knowledge about what they sell and offer and an incredible beverage accompaniment, especially the tea accompaniment was outstanding and something completely new and different!!! You can definitely do it. Dishes are, as expected, tiny and extensively introduced before each course. Interesting in taste. But not the way I know it from Japan. Different but good nonetheless. Accompaniment with tea or wine is possible. However, keep your skin clean properly. We decided on the classic 1 course - 1 beer. After 4 hours it was done. The rooms are kept very dark and it appears valuable. In the end it was nice and a good start to the rest of the evening.

Four of us visited this restaurant and although the atmosphere was pleasant and the ambience was nicely designed, the overall experience was not adequate for the price. We were disappointed with a total bill of €720. It seems questionable to charge €7 for a bottle of water, especially if it is filtered tap water. Unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait an unusually long time for each course, sometimes up to an hour. It was also problematic that, despite repeated references to the fact that one person at the table only spoke English, the dishes were occasionally only explained in German. There were also other minor problems that I don't want to go into in detail. The drink accompaniment for €75 was significantly overpriced. The wines and sakes on offer were served in small portions of 0.1L, although comparable bottles only cost between €10 and €20 in stores. The food itself was very tasty, but the portions were, as usual with fine dining, quite small. Greater variety and creativity in the presentation would certainly have improved the overall experience. All in all it was an interesting experience, but the price of €180 per person was definitely too high for what was on offer.

Will definitely come back! I was here with my sister in December and we had a wonderful evening. The mysterious ambience begins as soon as you enter at the red door, and everything inside is kept in muted colors, or black. The contrast comes from light and textures. The service is friendly, helpful and not intrusive. The food: just amazing! Incredibly imaginative and so many flavors that you will be surprised with every new bite. We treated ourselves to the entire menu with the non-alcoholic accompaniment. And this was also very pleasant, although you can probably do without it. I'm definitely thrilled.

Exceptional in every way - what an experience!!

Food was generally very good, though the dill oil on the dessert was poorly conceived and a sad final course to an otherwise delightful series of dishes. The main mistakes was a wine pairing course so focused on natural fermentation that it lost sight of balance and harmony (even though there were common themes that were able to be appreciated) and the fact that the venue desperately needs address by an acoustic engineering consultancy. At these prices having such poor atmosphere is inexcusable when addressing it is so simple.

So the ambience speaks for itself. It is excellent!!! The service was good, but I'm used to a little more connection to the guest in fine dining. I don't know if that's intentional, but it seemed to me as if people were keeping their distance from guests. The food was good but in my personal opinion a bit too expensive for what it is. A tiny bit more fine-tuning is still missing. (Criticism at a very high level) Nevertheless, I can warmly recommend Oukan as a restaurant to everyone

I actually wanted to reserve a table, but you have to leave a credit card. I wanted to deposit my credit card, I entered everything correctly and they didn't accept my credit card, even though I have a normal credit card

Very tasty food with a lot of sophistication and moments of surprise. We recommend. Only 1 star deduction for the ambience, which is very well designed, but the acoustics still have room for improvement.

Das beste vegane Restaurant Berlins! Hochraffinierte, japanisch geprägte Küche mit erlesenen Zutaten, kurzum eine Party für die Geschmacksknospen! Die alkoholfreie Getränkebegleitung mit hochwertigen Tees ist sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service und das Ambiente mit durchdachtem Interior Design runden das Erlebnis ab. Wir hatten das 8-Gänge-Menü mit vielen tollen Geschmackserlebnissen und sehr gesättigt nach Hause gegangen.

Haben dort im Dezember 2023 zu viert einen wunderschönen Abend verbracht. Es hat wirklich alles gestimmt. Direkt beim Betreten sind wir vom Design beeindruckt gewesen und gepaart mit dem freundlichen Empfang sofort in sehr positiver Stimmung gewesen. Das Menü war sowohl geschmacklich, optisch und in der Art und Weise wie es präsentiert wurde für uns hervorragend. Die alkoholische und nicht alkoholische Begleitung waren sehr gelungen. Der Service war super, wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Es hatte eine sehr gemütliche und doch elegante Atmosphäre. Insgesamt war es ein tolles Erlebnis!

I had a wonderful experience at Oukan the 2 times I went there! Beautiful and calming setting. The staff was professional and knowledgeable, the food doesn’t only look good it was absolutely delicious (my compliments to the new head chef!), and the tea pairing was incredible, my palate and my senses were travelling to different wonderful places 😍 I can highly recommend for a special occasion, I had a wonderful time! Vanavond hier gegeten. Het eten was verrassend, verfijnd en een combinatie van goede smaken en textuur. We kozen voor een 8 gangen diner. Onze ervaring werd echter verstoord door een onprettig ontvangst en vertrek. In een leeg restaurant kregen we een tafel in de verste hoek. Na verzoek van onze kant werd dat gecorrigeerd. De gerechten werden in een prettig tempo aan tafel geserveerd. Onprettig werd het echter toe ons werd gesommeerd om af te rekenen terwijl we nog aan het dineren waren. Er was niemand te zien die graag onze tafel wilde.

Der Abend im Oukan war echt etwas besonderes. Vom Essen bis hin zum Service war alles stimmig. Selten so gut Vegan gegessen. Wir haben unseren Abend sehr genossen. Fine Dining auf sehr hohen Niveau und die Restaurantleitung hätte nicht charmanter sein können. Wir haben uns sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Wir kommen wieder! Danke an das Team!

Leider haben wir im Oukan zwei Mal schlechte Erfahrungen mit dem Service gemacht. Das Essen ist gut, das Ambiente ist schön und besonders, aber die Qualität des Services steht in keinem Verhältnis zum Preis eines Essens im Oukan. - Wir wurden mehrmals über einen Zeitraum von vielleicht 30 Minuten vergessen. Es gab in dieser Zeit keine Möglichkeit, Wasser oder Getränke nachzubestellen. - Auf die Frage, was Kombu sei, antwortete eine Kellnerin, das sei Kombucha. - Die Frage nach dem Teeingehalt der Teebegleitung wurde damit beantwortet, dass kaum Teein in den Getränken sei. Dann gab es Sencha, Pu-Erh, schwarzen Tee, weißen Tee, also eine Bombe an Teein. So viel, dass ich um zwei Uhr nachts wach in der Küche stand. Das klingt lustig, allerdings ist eine Frau aus unserer Gruppe schwanger und wollte deshalb das Teein meiden. Schade. Könnte ein guter Laden für Berlin sein. Wir sind extra zwei Mal hingegangen, um dem Oukan eine zweite Chance zu geben. Ein dritte Mal wird es nicht geben.

We had such a beautiful evening. The first impression by the interior was amazing. Especially for Berlin! The food as absolutely delicious for a vegan eating person like me. So well thought through - and I enjoyed every bite / sip of it. I had the non-alcoholic pairing - which was for me also such an excellent match, and matched the taste of the courses really well. The portion sizes for me was totally fine - as it's dinner and I had 7 courses. The service was very welcoming, helpful and had all the infos on hand. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

The best fine dining experience I’ve had in Berlin!! Oukan is a hidden gem in the heart of Mitte: the atmosphere was relaxing, the design and architecture is wonderful, the service attentive and the food was incredible 🙌🏽⭐️ - I went already a year ago and I was surprised at how the place really leveled up since my last visit: the dishes were full of flavors and a pleasure for the eyes and for the palate - We were a big group and had the 7 courses menus and the non alcoholic pairing and left with a big smile on our faces. Highly recommend for a unique and exceptional dinner experience! We will definitely come back soon 💖🫶🏽

Loved my experience at Oukan. Was greeted with a collection of beautiful scents upon arrival, and exquisite flower arrangements. Have never seen so much attention to interior detail, visually and sensory in a restaurant. The waitress was professional but also relaxed and she matched me and my partner’s energy really well. The food however was on a different level, the most interesting pallet of flavors I’ve ever come across. After every course I was sure it couldn’t get better, but every course was a total highlight! We had the tea and wine pairing, and both were matched perfectly! I couldn’t imagine a better experience at a fine dining restaurant, I can guarantee they’ll have a Michelin star in no time!

Our experience was just divine...kudos to all the staff. The drink pairing was a brilliant surprise, the service on point and some of the courses blew our minds. Thank you guys for a lovely proper fine-dining fresh experience!

The food is mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price. Like some have already said, we also left the place hungry. The place looks nice but the service? Not sure what happened to your host waiter, but he definitely made our dinner experience uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

The food tasted no better than that of a uni cafeteria, and 80 euros per person for that? An absolute ripoff. A brave business venture and well done for the refurbishment, the interior space looks sleek and nice. Berlin could do so much better for fine dining.

To be honest: We‘ve paid 400€ for the night (2 people). Food was really great. We love seeing vegan fine dining (!!). Some dishes need to be improved for the price. Also: Amazing wine and tea sommelier. But other than that, the service was miserable. Drinks were mixed up. Drinks and food were delivered separately. We waited more than 1h for our 2nd course. The last course wasn’t serve at all. We needed to remind service. We had to remind them 3 times that we’ve ordered water?!? What a catastrophe.

A unique place in busy Berlin. My highlight was the fantastic consultation on not only wine but also tea. Atmosphere, service, food - worth it!

Had a lovely evening at Oukan last night. Service was great. Interesting flavours and an overall it was an amazing experience. We took 8-courses with a tea pairing. My favourite dishes were definitely the mushrooms ones - kombujime and maitake. As well as the miso truffle which was DIVINE (!). Some courses included medicinal flavours of tarragon and anise, which were interesting but not my favourite. If you take tea pairing, it includes 2 kombuchas which I didn’t expect and would’ve preferred to know in advance as it made us all feel a little bloated later. Also some of the teas we got were too bitter and as someone who has worked in tea shops, this is generally a sign of tea not brewed properly. Would’ve expected tea pairing to be better. I Am looking forward to visit them again in a few months when the menu changes, and I hope tea pairing will be improved 🙏🏼 The vibe of the whole place is really great thought and I definitely recommend to visit!

Outstanding food, service and ambience

Single Menu, fairly expensive BUT you do get very well balanced original dishes. The recent Gault Millau entry is well deserved. Styling, use of materials, all top notch! Expect 125€ pp. Tldr; worth it!

The food was amazing! We had the 7 course menu with tea and wine pairing. It was such a nice experience. Totally worth it! We enjoyed every second. And the service very charming and attentive. Thanks to the amazing team!

hands down best dining you can get

Ich war gestern zum zweiten Mal dort, v.a. weil ich von dem Konzept einer Teebegleitung begeistert bin. Die Location und das Ambiente sind toll und der Service ebenfalls sehr gut. Im Vergleich zu meinem ersten Besuch vor ca 2 Jahren hat sich das Essen verbessert. Damals gab es mehrere Gänge, die ich nicht sehr spannend fand. Gestern hat jeder Gang eine besondere Note gehabt. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Service war hervorragend, die Location und die Präsentation der Gerichte ausgezeichnet. Leider waren die Gerichte des 6-Gang-Menüs durchweg unausgewogen und viel zu klein. Die Rechnung war ungerechtfertigt und überraschend hoch.

Five star interior & service, unfortunately without the food to match. We went for the tea & wine pairing which I recommend for the variety and complex flavours. The food was simply underwhelming, mostly unbalanced, cold dishes throughout and overall, very overpriced (€390 total). We also left hungry, which we haven't experienced in other fine dining establishments after 7 courses. Shouldn't happen.

It’s a fancy environment but the food does not reach the expected level and asked price is way too high for what it is. Traditional Shojin ryori would have much more flavours, here is very bland and even if good looking dishes, the food itself is very ordinary including the ingredients.

Oukan Dining ist ein einzigarties Erlebnis! Beinahe versteckt im Hof ist der unscheinbare Eingang, welcher einen durch einen in weich warmes Licht getauchten Spiegelflur in den Speisesaal führt. Das Ambiente ist minimalistisch und stilvoll. Das Essen hingegen ein Traum der veganen Küche. Kombinationen die den Gaumen umschmeicheln und mit jedem Gang überraschen. Dazu erfährt man die Ideen und Traditionen, hinter den modernen Interpretationen und den dazu passenden Tees. Ein Hochgenuss! Unbedingt auch dann zu empfehlen, wenn noch kein konkreter Bezug im eigenen Leben zu Tee und Veganismus besteht. Hinzu kommt ein sagenhaft aufmerksames und freundliches Serviceteam!

Great service, even better food. They were very forthcoming, taking care of every allergy. Would recommend for everyone who wants dine for a special occasion.
