I ordered a Caesar salad. The menu said "with Parmesan," as is customary. I received the salad without Parmesan. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he took the salad away and brought it back with grated Parmesan, saying, "The chef forgot it." Caesar salad is served with shaved Parmesan. That didn't fit at all, but the price was right, at least for the restaurant.

We stopped by Oswald for a quick drinks break on Sunday. We enjoyed the ambiance, the service was attentive, and the food served at the neighboring table looked delicious. We would definitely return if the opportunity arises.

We happened to be walking by and found the atmosphere cozy, so we sat down and were unfortunately totally disappointed. The waitress came to our table relatively quickly and was friendly. We had the burger (with truffle mayo) and the pizza Parma. Unfortunately, the burger was really not good; it was poorly presented, the fries were soggy, and I couldn't taste much of the advertised truffle mayo. The pizza is large but not worth the money. Very nice for sitting down and having a drink, but I wouldn't eat there again.

At Oswald, Germany's service desert is still alive and kicking. We were a group of four and wanted to spend a lovely weekend at Timmendorfer Strand, enjoying the last rays of sunshine from the end of summer. So we wanted to go out for a nice meal on Saturday evening, and because we really liked the ambiance of the Oswald from the outside, we wanted to reserve a table there for 7 p.m. A stressed-out waiter then told us that they didn't take reservations and that we should just arrive shortly before 7 p.m., and getting a table would be no problem. We returned to the location on September 20, 2025, at 6:50 p.m., and the restaurant was apparently very busy, with people even still queuing. We encountered the stressed-out waiter again, who had told us a few hours earlier that a reservation wasn't necessary and therefore wouldn't be accepted. The strange thing was, there were now reservation cards all over the tables. When asked about this, the not-so-friendly waiter said there were no tables available at the moment and that we could queue outside; perhaps something would become available soon. We politely declined, of course, and looked for a decent restaurant. So, we were blatantly lied to and apparently weren't good enough for this place. I've never experienced anything so rude. Bottom line: never again at the Oswald.

The worst! I wanted to make a reservation with four friends for 7 p.m. in the afternoon. The employee said it wasn't possible or necessary. We should just show up. Then we arrived 10 minutes before 7 p.m., and there was a long line outside the restaurant. When we went to the same employee, he said he wasn't interested and we should go to the back of the line. THANK YOU!!!

We had dinner there today. It was truly excellent, and the portions were extremely generous. We had tomato soup for starters and tagliatelle with strips of beef fillet and porcini mushrooms for the main course. Especially for a dish of this size, there was a lot of meat, and it was also juicy. Neither of these qualities is a given for this type of restaurant. Friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere; we would definitely return.

I'm rarely speechless, but what happened to me in this restaurant left me absolutely stunned, as if I were in a Neo-Loriot sketch. As a solo traveler, I wanted to treat myself to a quiet meal... just enjoy, relax, and breathe deeply. Instead, the waiter at the door informed me that they "don't really like" single guests—sorry? I was then summarily seated, against my will, at a table with a complete stranger who was just as unwilling to be in this situation as I was. We complied, perhaps because we were a little taken aback. The waiter even laughed at us occasionally, saying that we seemed to be getting along well. Apparently, being alone here is a crime, punishable by forced socialization. But things got even more absurd: A third single person was also almost "matched"—the waiter acted like an intrusive entertainer on a bad cruise ship. This wasn't a restaurant visit—this was a bad sketch. I've rarely experienced such ignorance and aggression towards guests. Anyone who doesn't want single guests should communicate this clearly – ideally with a sign saying, "Warning: No one is welcome to be alone." Absolutely disrespectful, embarrassing, and for me: never again.

We visited the Oswald Restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand and were very disappointed. The bruschetta was a real disappointment: carelessly presented, the bread soft instead of crispy, and the tomatoes watery and bland. Even the small shrimp pan couldn't save it; the shrimp were barely seasoned, rather rubbery, and swimming in a meaningless sauce. For the price, we expected considerably more. The service was okay. The lady was friendly, the gentleman was very serious, and intimidating. Overall, the quality of the food didn't match the price. Definitely not a restaurant we would recommend.

Three of us visited the restaurant in the afternoon for coffee and cake and chose a table outside. The ambiance was quiet, as only two other tables were occupied – an overall relaxed atmosphere. The espressos were decent, but we felt the value for money was not adequate. The cakes on offer – Zupfkuchen (pulled cake) and Bienenstich (bee sting) – were very reminiscent of cheap frozen goods and were not very tasty. We also ordered bruschetta, which consisted of only four small pieces. Here, too, the portion was rather disappointing, and we would have expected more – both in terms of size and quality. Overall, our visit was unfortunately not entirely satisfactory. While the quiet location and outdoor area are pleasant, the quality of the food and the value for money left much to be desired.

For this reason, we left the restaurant. It was very irritating that no one responded even as we left, even though we were noticed.

More show than substance The salad was missing crispy bread; it only arrived upon request and was far from crispy. The spaghetti with garlic and chili had no garlic at all and very little chili oil. After repeated requests, they added a little chili oil. There's still plenty of room for improvement; a disappointing restaurant visit.

We went to Restaurant Oswald, and unfortunately, the overall experience was rather disappointing. A table for two wasn't available...they almost refused us a table for six. It took a discussion with two waiters/waitresses to get us seated. So, better not to be a guest? We finally took a seat there, and a family joined us. The service seemed very unprofessional, lacking in quality, or poorly coordinated. The Oswald Trio was an outrage for a restaurant. The three types of meat were mass-produced and tasted as if they were all cooked in the same fat. We also had lukewarm fries and a handful of salad. On top of that, we had two Thomy bags of mustard and ketchup. Okay for a big-city snack bar. For a restaurant with these prices, it's outrageous. My wife sent back her half-full plate of truffle pasta... The food on offer at other tables also looked unappealing. The dishes, too, looked more like a cafeteria, considering the price category. Overall, the visit felt more like a visit to a fast food restaurant than a feeling of dining in a restaurant – prices aside. The noise and the hectic behavior of the staff played a large part in the experience. Conclusion Service/customer contact/commitment to hospitality was nonexistent. You just don't have to worry about it in a place like this. It just works. At another location, this wouldn't last long. That's the essence of it.

We paid and didn't receive a receipt. When we asked for it (because the price seemed a bit high to us), they gave it to me in an unfriendly manner. In fact, alcoholic drinks had been added to the bill (by the way: there were only three tables occupied). When I asked for it and asked for a correction, they didn't respond at all and pretended they didn't hear me. They unfriendly handed me the difference. I have nothing against foreigners, I'm one myself, but these rip-off people in Timmendorf are simply not nice. I'm just assuming that it happens frequently there or is some kind of scam. Anyone can make mistakes, but a proper apology would be nice.

Soooo friends... We stumbled upon this place by chance today... We immediately got a seat for four... The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating from start to finish... The food was absolutely fantastic. Freshly prepared and served deliciously... I finally got to eat a pizza in Timmendorf that actually tasted good👌 The cheeseburger was also delicious.

Unfortunately, the egg in the carbonara was set, and the sauce in the other pasta was too salty. The spoon was already stuck in the food, something I've never seen before. However, the service responded to our criticism of the taste, which was "good," and offered us a free coffee. Since we were dissatisfied with the food, we declined the coffee and decided to move on. The prices per dish were quite high at around €20-25. We would have preferred a discount due to the poor quality. The atmosphere was okay if you enjoy watching people pass by.

Located alongside the other restaurants on the promenade, Restaurant Oswald offers delicious food and a friendly atmosphere. The service is prompt and manages even the evening rush well.

They also used iceberg lettuce. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer good. It's a shame, because the ambiance is very nice. The pizzas on the neighboring tables still looked good. After the first visit: Amazing. Very good Italian. Great ambiance, friendly service, and delicious food.

Of course, you have to give new things a chance. This was the second time we've been here with the new owner. On average, most of the food is half-cold. If you order a starter and a main course, the main course arrives while you're still eating the starter. It was the same at the other tables. Unfortunately, it's like a fast-food restaurant, which has nothing to do with quality. A real shame.

Congratulations to all those who have already complained about not being allowed to push tables together. When we (two people) ordered the perennial favorite, the Holsteiner Schnitzel, we couldn't have guessed what was lurking in the salad! It's a shame, as the schnitzel itself is very tasty, and the potatoes are also perfectly edible. The salad contained small, halved tomatoes, some of which had mold on the stems. We politely pointed this out, and the waitress returned with a new salad and the words: "We always get our delivery in the morning and have now thrown away all the tomatoes." After the initial shock, the next one: there was a light fur on the stem again. We also found a few hairs in the salad. Apparently, the criticism of the first tomato hadn't reached the kitchen. As an apology, we were given a free coffee, amazing! When the plates were cleared, there was neither an apology nor a further explanation of what had happened. It's a shame that in all the excitement, the thought of taking some cute furry photos didn't occur to us. We won't eat here again. We won't push a table together either, it's not possible anyway...

It was truly inviting and well-attended. The service was rather off-putting. You felt like you were a nuisance; no advice was offered, and there was neither a smile nor anything else. My husband didn't tip because of the food and the service. The waiter left without so much as a "goodbye," shaking his head in fury. The burger was cold and tasteless. The pizza was okay but not amazing; my daughter's pasta was the best.

Das Restaurant heißt mittlerweile Oswalds Restaurant. Waren heute zum Mittagessen dort. Die Geräuschkulisse war heftig. Pizza war gut. Das Nudelgericht schmackhaft. Leider wurde meine Frage bei der Bestellung, ob ich eine etwas kleinere Nudelportion erhalten kann, verneint. Fazit: Habe die Portion nicht geschafft und Lebensmittel werden verschwendet. Leider wurde ich auch nicht gefragt, ob ich die restlichen Nudeln mitnehmen möchte. Alles sehr unverständlich. Passt doch wohl nicht mehr in die heutige Zeit! Preise für Nachtisch deutlich zu hoch. Kein Eis im Angebot. Kellner wirkte eher genervt als motiviert!
