We were there two evenings in a row. Very friendly and courteous service, the team there was always friendly and always willing to have fun. The food was very tasty, very tasty and eaten very quickly.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our visit. If the drinks come after the meal, that says a lot about the dishes. And that's exactly how it was, the Bolognese came after what felt like 5 minutes so it wasn't freshly prepared. Tasteless and watery. The prices are only justified by the location and not for the quality of the food. It's a shame given the expensive prices. Unfortunately we don't recommend it.

Horrifying!!!!!! After two years, this year we were back in Timmendorf on vacation like we have been for the last eight years. Whenever we stayed here, we visited the restaurant “Oswalds Alte Liebe” almost every evening and were always very enthusiastic about the food and the hospitality. This time we unfortunately had to realize that there was a change of ownership. We noticed this as soon as we entered the restaurant due to the waiter's impersonal and arrogant seating assignment. The menu has now been significantly reduced, which in itself should offer the possibility of preparing the lesser dishes in a reasonable and acceptable quality. We ordered four dishes and unfortunately they were prepared at the lowest canteen level. We will not eat at this restaurant again. There are excellent alternatives in Timmendorf where the food and service are worth the money. It's a shame, we mourn Oswald's old love...

The food was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo and it was already devoured. We had the burger and the penne gorgonzola. That's how it has to be. Nothing more can be said about it. But the cherry on top was the creme brulee. Not too sweet.. just perfect. I didn't want to eat the whole thing alone. And then I couldn't stop spooning. (Luckily there is a photo of this) The service is very friendly, very competent and knows what they are doing. Could hardly be done better. The Pinot Gris was also very tasty. We were completely satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend this store. :) Thank you for the lovely experience. Keep it up :) ❤️ The location is of course more than perfect. Close to the beach, with a terrace and enough space to be by yourself. You have a nice time here. We also parked right around the corner. But maybe that was also luck 🤷🏽‍♀️😅

We sat down for a quick lunch today. Our waiter was very attentive and looked after us very well. The food was very tasty and very plentiful. All in all, very satisfied and very comfortable. We'll definitely come back

We had lunch at Oswald. €15.90 for a salad (in the lunch special!) with a few scampis, I would have expected more for the price. My partner had a Caesars salad for €14.90, which wasn't much more filling. Since there was only a small piece of bread, we asked for extra bread. Each of us was only brought one more piece, not a bread basket or anything else, which you always get from the start elsewhere. The stalk was used in the salad and one leaf was already brown (see photos). The white wine tasted like apple juice. But the service was nice. And we could sit outside in the sun! (The ambience inside was ok... You could certainly do a lot more with it...) The big shock came with the bill: €55 for two people for lunch!!! The “apple juice wine” cost €8.90!!! A bottle of water (yes, WATER!) cost €8.40!! In Hamburg you can get a whole red curry dish, full of vegetables, for €9 (60 cents more than a water here). 55 € and neither of us were full. We will definitely not be coming back and would not recommend it.

The two of us had dinner in this restaurant in the evening and it was really delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and on a hot day we were lucky to find a shady spot. The staff was extremely attentive and prompt, which made the evening even more enjoyable. That's why we give it a full 5 stars. A small note: reservations are not possible here, but that wasn't a problem for us - we quickly got a place.

We ate there twice during our vacation with four people. The food was very good, the staff was friendly. The prices are high, but you are in the middle of the tourist center.

We've been coming to Oswald for almost a decade. Unfortunately, the restaurant has lost some of its charm over this time. There used to be a bar and an old tree on the outside terrace, which gave it a certain extra something. Unfortunately, these can no longer be found. The food (for us burgers with hard patties and a few fries) is unfortunately absolutely run of the mill for the price quoted. We also don't like the fact that the food appears at the table after just a few minutes, which has a certain check-in character. The only thing that remains positive is the service. We won't be coming back again.

We were there for lunch today. The two waiters were very friendly and attentive. We were informed about the selection of children's menus and were offered a high chair for our toddler right at the beginning. We enjoyed the food very much.

Hello, I had dinner there today with my wife and son. We both ordered the pan fish. As a starter they had bruschetta which was quite good for my wife, I had carpaccio. There was a lot of rocket and very little carpaccio, much better and more for the price. We ordered fried fish with fried potatoes. Oddly enough, it came with bacon, but there wasn't a word about it on the menu. When we asked the waiter about it he acted very smug, no. Word of sorry and said is written on it. I let him read it himself. Then he looked strange and let it go back. Was made again but this time small normal potatoes were cooked whole. Fried potatoes don't work without bacon. Apparently everything is pre-produced. The fried fish with 3 fillets turned out to be a complete failure. These 3 fillets were so small, unbelievable. Still €30 per portion. A total of €100 left there. Was maybe worth half. Never go there again. Are often in Timmendorf. Not again, there are a thousand times better ones.

Today we were at Oswald for the first time with our friends and the children. We were initially skeptical due to the very mixed reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and sufficient for everyone. This applies to both the Caesar salad from lunch and the burger. The price level corresponds to the location on the beach promenade. The service is particularly noteworthy. The staff were very nice to our children and fulfilled all special requests without hesitation. We can recommend the Oswald.

We have enjoyed coming here for several years, so far... Today we were there again: There is hardly any offer for children anymore. A significantly smaller menu. Prices increased very significantly while at the same time reducing the size on the plate. We had Oswald's Trio (I've had it more often in recent years). The quality of the food leaves little to be desired, only the quantity is a joke. Due to a lack of options, the children opted for the “original” Wiener Schnitzel. The animal could suffer a post-mortem. Completely fried with bone-hard breading. The whole thing is not a bargain at €26.90 and can be found much better in Timmendorf. The service was friendly as always, but the whole team seems to have changed.

Unfortunately, the “remake” only left a copy of it. Unfortunately, the reduced menu does not result in higher quality food. When told that the food should be gluten-free, the salad comes with bread and onions that have been sliced ​​thin. The staff seems overwhelmed and doesn't even show up at the table after the food has been handed over. It's a shame how “optimization” can backfire!

Unfortunately I have to revise my 5 star review. Service is more concerned with coolness and chewing gum than with hospitality. Ordered cod fillet for 22.90 and it was 2 MINI pieces of fish with lots of potatoes. Completely different from previous years when we ate there several times. It's a shame how things change. Not again.

We have eaten in this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied. However, there has now been a change of ownership, which unfortunately has had a very negative impact on the quality of the food, the prices and the service. I ordered pan fish with fried potatoes for €26.90. When it was served by the listless waitress, I could hardly believe my eyes. The 3 pieces of fish promised on the menu were so small that you no longer have to talk about pieces but rather morsels. These were served in a pan with unseasoned fried potatoes. The whole ensemble was swimming in grease. Another supplement? None! I have never been served such bad food in a restaurant in the last 10 years. I can only advise against entering this restaurant.

We were very disappointed. The service staff was really nice! But: The food wasn't good at all. I had beef rump (hardly edible because it was so tough) with potatoes and vegetables. The vegetables were bland and loveless. My husband had three kinds of meat. Very small Also because the steak was too raw and tough. Unfortunately there was also a curly hair in the food. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right.

We have been to Oswalds very often and wanted to enjoy the excellent food and the friendliness of the staff there again this year. We saw that a lot had changed and then read that the terrible storm “hit” there in 2023. Nevertheless, we sat down on the terrace and quickly realized that there had been a change of ownership. There wasn't much going on, the waiters seemed stressed and walked past us without noticing us. We waited and waited... Even after 20 minutes no one noticed us. We then got up and left the restaurant! Never again!!!!

We had dinner at Oswald yesterday. The new owners are super accommodating and the service is very friendly. The meal was, as with Babette and Andreas, a smooth one. The schnitzel with fried potatoes and cucumber salad was delicious and the Flammkuchen Florence was also a culinary delight. The Oswald is a restaurant where the price/performance ratio is absolutely harmonious. We felt really comfortable with you and will have the promised coffee tomorrow 😉

We really enjoyed our visit to this small but fine restaurant. Our fish dishes came quickly after ordering and were on point. The potatoes were very well seasoned, great preparation. The cucumber salad was really tasty. Relaxed, attentive service, fits. Actually 4 stars because you can always improve. But there are 5 stars because the boss really seems to have an idea about wheat beer. Maisels Weisse is served here, just to enjoy.

Since the owners changed, the Oswald is no longer recognizable. The food is no longer what it used to be, which is a shame. In the past, everything and absolutely everything was cooked fresh here, without any additives or frozen goods. We don't go here anymore.

Unfortunately, all the seats inside were full, but we were there spontaneously and the staff were just as spontaneous - awning down, heater on and I was able to have a cozy and delicious meal with my lovely wife. The people were very friendly and attentive.

We had reserved a table for 6 people. Unfortunately there was a mixup with the reservation. The boss was visibly affected by the mix-up and still tried to accommodate us. We then settled at the counter and I have to say it was the best part. Everyone's food was very, very tasty. Even a special request (warming up a beer) was fulfilled. But the best thing was the warmth, hospitality and professionalism of the team. Something like that has become rare. It was a great evening. Thank you for that. We will be back!!!!

Lt. Internet information open from 12 p.m. On site we were able to find out that it is closed on Monday and Tuesday and that it doesn't open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. So we waited from 4 p.m. until it opened (on Wednesday). When we went back to the restaurant at 5:20 p.m. it was still closed and there was no indication that it would be open at all that day. Super annoying when you drive there and then wait. If there is a note hanging at the entrance, then it should at least correspond to the facts.

Schönes Lokal mit wenig Tischen im Innenbereich. Hatte hier mein bestes Labskaus gegessen. Meine Frau hatte einen Flammkuchen. Auch dieser war sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Immer wieder gerne. Danke an die Küche für das super Essen.
