We had a four-course surprise menu. My wife had fish and I had meat. Exquisite cuisine with a variety of flavors and modern presentation. Very friendly service. High prices are normal for the quality of the food. The homemade sourdough bread with the restaurant's own olive oil from Sicily went very well with it. We'd be happy to go again.

I highly recommend it; the flavor explosions continued from the first bite to the dessert. My wife and I were more than thrilled.

The best restaurant I've been to in a long time. A small but very well-balanced menu, with a very large wine selection. The food was incredibly delicious! The homemade bread is highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

During our first stay in Cuxhaven, we stumbled across this wonderful restaurant by chance and spontaneously stopped in. The food, the hosts, and the ambiance are fantastic; we highly recommend it! It's best to make a reservation; we were just lucky to get a table because we were out quite early in the evening.

Osteria la fenice is a real highlight for us; we always reserve a table there before we even travel to Cuxhaven. This is partly due to the excellent Italian cuisine, which is characterized above all by its authenticity, but also to Massimo, the owner, whose warm and service-oriented approach immediately creates a feeling of "culinary home." The food is authentically Italian and simply fantastic. You can taste the fresh ingredients and passion in every dish. We recently chose the surprise menu, one vegetarian and one mixed (which could be adjusted on the spot). It tastes as if our Italian grandmother had cooked it herself. Definitely not your "typical Italian next door" – but an Italian restaurant you shouldn't miss. The wine selection is equally extensive and of a very high standard for wine lovers. For guests who don't drink alcohol, non-alcoholic alternatives are also available, mixed to suit each course according to personal taste – I found this particularly service-oriented. The restaurant has recently been added to the Michelin Guide's watch list—very well-deserved, in my opinion.

So, we were on vacation in Cuxhaven from Zurich. Our friend who lives there recommended this osteria to us and went there, too. The quality, taste, and presentation of what's served there is hard to beat! The vitello tonnato was the best I've ever eaten. Absolutely fantastic! There's probably no better Italian food in all of Switzerland!

A rather unusual Italian menu with delicious dishes of excellent quality. No pizzas, which says a lot. Extensive wine list, attentive service. Highly recommended!

We were a bit unsure after reading some of the reviews, particularly as we do not drink alcohol. In addition, a few comments suggested that the service was not always friendly. However, after our visit for our wedding anniversary, we were most pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied with the experience. The tartare offered a wonderful combination of flavours, beautifully complemented by the pickled tomato. The clam pasta was a true highlight, the clams were juicy, soft, and fresh, green sauce with a delicate note of vinegar that was both unexpected and delightful. Although there was one small fragment of shell, it did not detract from the overall freshness, it was the finest and freshest clam dish I have ever enjoyed in Germany. The dessert, paired with candied cherry sauce, had a texture reminiscent of mochi. While slightly sweeter than my personal preference, the combination was memorable. This restaurant is well worth visiting for an inspiring culinary experience 👍

A Venetian revelation lies where you'd never expect it. Away from the tourist crowds, the cuisine is excellent; the four-course menu leaves nothing to be desired, and the chef offers expert and friendly advice.

Before I write my review, I want to clarify that I enjoy eating out, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. We discovered the Osteria La Fenice restaurant by chance at the end of our family vacation and had always wanted to dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant. No sooner said than done. We had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m., and I would definitely recommend making a reservation for that time, as the restaurant was very busy. Ambience: The restaurant is authentic and decorated with attention to detail. There's a lot to explore, yet it still feels stylish, harmonious, and not overly over-the-top. Food: The menu is manageable, which I personally like, as it gives me the impression that the food is cooked with great care. We had two starters and the homemade bread and were delighted. The main courses were also very delicious. Simply a little culinary journey to Italy. P.S. A little shout-out from the chef in advance, on the house. Service: I've eaten at a few restaurants before. Some were a little cheaper, some a little more expensive, and I've never been served so attentively, well, and with such Italian hospitality. The lady who served us asked directly whether my mother wanted her drink with or without ice cubes. A small gesture I'd never experienced before. My mother doesn't like ice-cold drinks ;) My friend wanted to be surprised by an Italian beer and was asked about her preferences. The appetizers were assumed to be shared, so several plates were automatically prepared. When the menu and drinks were served, the women were served by age, followed by the men by age. I personally find this very nice, as a fan of the old school. The tables were set at the right time, so you didn't feel rushed. A quick glance was enough to reorder, or you were asked directly if you needed anything else. The reason I'm going into this review in such detail is because of the negative comments I've read. Regarding the service, I can only say that we felt very respected and were always served with a smile and grazie mille. In my opinion, the food was good value for money. I eat a lot and would say I was pleasantly full. If you think you have to go out with a food coma, you should just go for an all-you-can-eat meal. For us, it was simply a lovely experience and a wonderful taste of Italian cuisine, far removed from pizza and tiramisu. It was the perfect end to a vacation. Thanks to the entire team at Osteria La Fenice.

I had dinner here with my wife yesterday and we are still talking about it. We haven't eaten so well in a long time. The restaurant has a nice and balanced menu, not too big but varied. The wine list is very extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. All dishes are homemade and very attractively prepared. The taste is simply outstanding The portions are the right size and the courses are spaced correctly. The service is excellent and the couple, who are also the owners, serve themselves, advise and can provide precise information about the origin. I had to praise the kitchen after every course and we were simply thrilled. We will probably eat here one or two evenings and keep the restaurant in mind for special evenings. The size of the restaurant is just right and the atmosphere is very pleasant. There is also free parking at the church within walking distance (5 minutes). However, one thing should be noted. This restaurant is the right choice for connoisseurs, for people who enjoy good food and appreciate fresh, Italian ingredients. The all-you-can-eat buffet lover won't get their money's worth here and that's a good thing and contributes greatly to the pleasant and upscale ambience. Another bonus is that the owner is a real Italian and you can tell and taste it. Bravo, I'm still overwhelmed

The best Italian restaurant in Cuxhaven. The service and ambiance are excellent, and the food is outstanding! Highly recommended.

Very arrogant service. As a cyclist (wearing a T-shirt and shorts, but everything is clean), you won't get any service here. Even though the shop is empty, you're told that everything is fully booked and to leave. Honestly, I haven't experienced anything like this in a long time. We hope the market sorts this out and all cyclists steer clear of this kind of endless arrogance. A few meters further on, at Jacques Weindepot, we received excellent service and were treated to a delicious wine.

As cyclists, we weren't served here, probably because of our shorts! Very arrogant, even though the place was empty! It's a shame, because we're actually pretty cash-strapped, but clothes make the man here!

We ate here last year and were very satisfied; now we really wanted to see if that impression would be confirmed. And yes: it was once again excellent and something special to dine here. Everything was very flavorful, the meat pink and tender. And really – Anyone who says they weren't full and couldn't enjoy this food should rather try their herring with fried potatoes or their currywurst with fries. It costs less, and you can also fill your stomach. At least we were able to enjoy it and were satisfied!

My absolute favorite restaurant, and it has been for many years. Don't expect anything standard, because the chefs here are creative, masters of their craft, and conjure up something special. Incredibly flavorful, a small selection, products from Italy... absolutely worth every visit!

An incredible evening. One of the very few authentic Italian restaurants. The service is professional and extremely friendly. I ordered a truly exquisite Fassona beef tartare. The culinary journey continued with Gnocchi alla Romana, finishing with a trio of desserts. The wide and high-quality wine selection is also noteworthy. Thank you again, and see you next time!

We were in Cuxhaven a few years ago and wanted to eat here. This time, it worked out. We were also hesitant because of the "small" menu and the prices. We've even been here twice during our vacation, and we were quite splurging. If you really want to eat something special, this is the place. The quality of the food is top-notch and the taste is amazing. Starter, bread, olive oil... main course... the package is top-notch.

Overpriced disappointment and tiny portions: We wanted to treat ourselves to something special and had heard and read a lot of good things beforehand. However, we found the welcome and the ambiance to be very mediocre. A less than warm welcome and a rather arrogant and irritated host, who, with every request or question, made us feel like "you have no idea" or "you're a nuisance." The menu is minimalistic; besides a few pasta dishes, there was exactly one meat dish – roast beef for €33. I would have considered it an okay starter for €18; I couldn't find anything about it that justified a higher price, neither in terms of quality, nor in the way it was prepared, nor in the other ingredients. I couldn't identify it as a specialty either. The wine was excellent, and we received good advice, although the price was also at least on the high end. Overall, we were very disappointed and left the restaurant hungry and frustrated after spending almost €200. After we objectively expressed our criticism and expressed our disappointment, we were vilified and ridiculed for not knowing what we were doing (unfortunately, it wasn't phrased that nicely) and apparently for not being able to afford better food. And it's equally uncalled for to get worked up about our choice of wine – the guest alone decides based on their own taste. We consider all of this an impertinence and disrespect, which in no way reflect a welcoming and charming host, supposedly of a high standard. Everyone should decide for themselves whether they want to put themselves through this for a lot of money and little in return. Much more show than substance!

We like to go to better restaurants and are happy to spend a little more for good food. Here, the value for money was not at all right. The quality of the food was very good. Special requests were fulfilled. However, the portions were much too small. I skipped an appetizer and announced that I would prefer dessert at the end. This brings us to the biggest criticism. The service was inadequate and inattentive for a restaurant of such quality. No wine refills were offered, and they didn't notice that the water had been emptied several times. No one asked if I had any requests or if I enjoyed the food, and at the end, I wasn't even asked about dessert. We then enjoyed it at another restaurant. We tried several times to lighten the mood and the service – unfortunately, to no avail. Overall, we felt a lack of heart, love, and hospitality. The bread had to be paid for beforehand, and there was no small drink on the house at the end. I could have soothed myself with an espresso or limoncello ;-). We wouldn't go here again because we didn't feel welcome. Disappointing for €80-90 per person. Good concept, but poor execution. :-( ———————————————————————— Addendum: The way my review was handled shows the unprofessionalism and disrespect that the restaurant manager also displays in his service. Very sad!

Great food, great ambiance, great service. Plus excellent wines

It was indescribable… Super nice welcome, authentic Italian flair, attentive service and at the same time a real acceleration. Fine, selected dishes on the menu. So 2x starter and 2x main course. Plus a fruity, very harmonious rosé. Greetings from the kitchen: very tasty. Starters: fantastic. Main courses with fresh pasta: a dream. Excellent quality, very balanced taste compositions. If you appreciate very, very good food and want to treat yourself to a relaxed and enjoyable evening, this is the right place for you. Thanks to the team, it was an extraordinary evening!

Normally we head to Bremerhaven from Dorum, but today we were in Cuxhaven again and for the first time in the Osteria la Fenice. We each treated ourselves to the 4-course menu with wine accompaniment and were not disappointed. Great taste combinations with high-quality, mostly home-made or regional products in an interesting and exciting menu, with very friendly and courteous service in a relaxed and modern atmosphere - we are thrilled and will definitely be visiting here more often. If you would like to try authentic and really good Italian cuisine far away from the usual tourist restaurants in Cuxhaven, you should definitely pay a visit to this small osteria.

The Fenice deserves a star. One of the best Italians in Germany. I've been eating here every year for 10 years when I visit Cuxhaven. Every time a new creative menu, selected, best ingredients. A great team, very pleasant service. You feel welcome. From the oil, the amusement, to the starters, to the main course, an absolute culinary delight. Sensational! And that in Cuxhaven!

Trotz aller Kritik bleibt das Restaurant bei den kleinen Portionen Wenn ein Steinbeißer Filet für 32 € unter einen Bierdeckel passt und die dazugehörige Portion Spinat auf einen Menülöffel,so frage ich mich ,wer hier satt werden soll . Es scheint aus der Mode gekommen zu sein zb Gnoccis , Kartoffeln oder Risotto als Beilage zu servieren Der kleine Speiseteller sollte wohl eine Vorspeise suggerieren, allerdings war dieser zu groß für einen „Gruß aus der Küche „ Mein Tip: vor oder nach dem Restaurantbesuch sollte man lieber etwas essen

Due to my mistake, we arrived 1 hour late yesterday and even though the restaurant was fully booked, the owners did everything they could to ensure we could still get a table for 5. I have never experienced so much understanding and accommodation. The service was appropriate and the excellent food and drinks rounded off this overall picture. We were in the Osteria again today - and unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed. The starters were great, but we felt cheated by the main courses. Good food - and that's why you go to the Osteria - is expensive, no question. The quantity of main courses was (if at all) the size of starters, and the price-performance ratio no longer matched for us.

The best thing I've experienced in a long time. Service, food, ambience etc. The boss and all employees are authentic, relaxed and friendly. Even if you have to open your wallet wide, every euro is well invested. The food is absolutely top class! I had the 4 course menu.

Heerlijk gegeten, een verfijnde Italiaanse keuken. De rundstartaar is overheerlijk, De melanzano di parmigianno is in het frituur gebakken - zo kennen wij dat gerecht niet - voor de rest wel tip top van smakenpallet.

Fantastic, that's all you really need. The couple are also the owners and they are very friendly, attentive and you never feel intrusive. The menu changes approximately every three months and it is always an experience. You have to get involved in a lot of things but I've never been disappointed and it's always been tasty. The sourdough bread and our own olive oil are highly recommended ❤️ Yes, it costs a little more. BUT it's 100% worth it.

Dies ist nicht der gute Italiener von Nebenan. Hier gibt es eine kleine Karte mit speziellen italienischen Gerichten, die es aber in sich haben. Uns allen 6 Pers. hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Insgesamt preislich auf hohem Niveau, der durch den Aufwand bei den Gerichten aber auch gerechtfertigt ist.

There's no other way to say it. The food is really great, the service is excellent and the ambience is great. Massimo and his team are complete professionals. The quality of the food is excellent. Simply great in terms of taste and appearance. The prices are relatively high but certainly justified. We were thrilled and can fully recommend Osteria La Fenice. The Venetian patron and his wife were excellent hosts: we were warmly welcomed, our coats were removed and we were shown to the reserved place. After we had decided on the daily menu with wine accompaniment, we asked about allergies and intolerances. The cutlery found space on a cutlery bench and the greeting from the kitchen didn't take long to arrive. The carrot soup set the mood well for the other four exciting courses. Highlights were homemade pasta with lobster tartare and venison medallions with herb mushrooms. The accompanying wines were explained and went well with the courses. In this Osteria you will find exciting Italian cuisine with great attention to detail and to the guest. It was a wonderful evening with new friends.

Wir haben hier ein großartiges Event erlebt. Obwohl das Restaurant äußerlich ein wenig daherkommt wie eine Art Weinhandel, herrscht innen eine wundervolle Atmosphäre vor. Und sowohl Essen alsauch Getränke, Service, Beratung und musikalische Untermalung: all das wird hier mit dem gewissen Etwas, aber auch fein aufeinander abgestimmt angeboten. Dabei wird gleichzeitig auch Wert darauf gelegt, Produkte aus der eigenen Familie in das Ambiente einzubeziehen. Vielen Dank dafür, wir sind voller Dankbarkeit für all das, was wir in diesem kleinen Restaurant erfahren durften. Weiter so!

Aufgrund eines besonderen Anlasses sind wir in dieses Restaurant. Die Homepage hatte uns überzeugt. Die Begrüßung war nicht ganz so freundlich, dieses wurde dann während des Abends besser. Leider war das Essen nicht ganz so hervorragend, wie wir es uns erhofft hatten. Für uns war alles mehr Schein wie sein. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war für uns das entscheidene Kriterium für diese Bewertung.

Ein kleines und gemütliches Lokal mit einer schönen Atmosphäre. Die Speisen: der Gruß aus der Küche, die Vorspeise, das Hauptgericht und der Nachtisch haben einfach nur sehr lecker geschmeckt und die Speisen waren auch noch schön angerichtet. Der Chef war sehr aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich.

Schade, dass es nicht 10 Sterne gibt! Essen und Service sind einfach grandios. Unfassbare Qualität wird mit excellenter Kochkunst zu wahren Geschmacksexplosionen vereint- man möchte einfach nie wieder anders essen. Dazu die professionelle Freundlichkeit und das entspannte Fachwissen des Service: keine Frage, keine Bitte ist zuviel oder erntet Genervtheit. Ein absolutes Highlight, wir kommen garantiert wieder!!

Hier stimmt alles: stylishe Ausstattung mit Charakter, netter und professioneller Service, superleckeres Essen, köstliche Getränke zur Begleitung und angenehme Musik. Wer Lust auf hochwertige italienische Gerichte hat jenseits der üblichen Pizza-und-Pasta-Menüs ist hier richtig. Bei jedem Gericht gab es einen individuellen Kniff, ob es die sehr zitronige Mascarponesoße zur Pasta, der Schuß des eigenen Olivenöls beim Dessert oder der sehr sanfte Barrique-Grappa zum Abschluss ist. Man merkt, dass es dem Team wichtig ist, dass sich die Gäste rundum wohlfühlen-und das ist ihnen bei uns voll und ganz gelungen!

Sehr geiles Essen. Ausgezeichnete Qualität. Etwas gehobener daher auch recht hohe Preise. leider etwas kleine Portionen. Von dem leckeren Essen würde man gerne mehr haben. Wenn man sich aber mal etwas besonderes und authentisch italienisches gönnen möchte eine klare Empfehlung. Man sollte nur nicht zu sehr auf die Preise achten.

Haben heute zu Abend gegessen im La Fenice, von a-z hat alles gestimmt. Der Service war phänomenal, super zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Besonders gut fanden wir, das italienisch vom Service Personal, wirkte alles sehr authentisch. Das Essen war klasse, die Vorspeise war genug aber nicht Zuviel, einen Gruß aus der Küche als Artischocken Creme bekamen wir auch, unsere Nudeln waren bissfest genau so wie wir es mögen. Der Nachtisch war himmlisch. Ein Schnaps am Ende rundete das Erlebnis ab, wir sind rundum zufrieden und würden immer wieder kommen! 🩵👍🏻

Die Besitzer strahlen eine absolute Hingabe zu ihrer kulinarischen Kunst aus, so dass man sich als Gast direkt willkommen und wertgeschätzt fühlt. Hier wird man italienisch begrüßt, denn nicht nur der Besitzer ist waschechter Italiener. Lasst das Geschmackserlebnis beginnen! Die außerordentliche Qualität der Speisen ist unverkennbar. Jeder Bissen entfacht ein Feuerwerk der Aromen im Gaumen und man kann förmlich die Liebe und Sorgfalt schmecken, die in jedes Gericht gesteckt wurde. Jedes einzelne Gericht ein Kunstwerk für sich. Den netten Gruß aus der Küche möchte man meist direkt aus dem Topf in Gänze verzehren. Brot & Pasta kommt aus der eigenen Manufaktur (ein paar Häuser weiter). Obwohl das Restaurant in einer gehobenen Preisklasse angesiedelt ist, wird man ohne Zweifel den Wert des Erlebten spüren. Die Portionen sind zwar nicht riesig, aber das ist auch nicht nötig, denn die Qualität und die erlesenen Zutaten machen jedes Gericht zu einer Geschmacksexplosion. Man wird angenehm satt und kann sich voll und ganz auf die kulinarische Reise einlassen. Der Service ist von vorbildlicher Höflichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit geprägt. Das Personal ist stets bemüht, den Gästen jeden Wunsch von den Augen abzulesen. Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist ebenso charmant wie stilvoll gestaltet und schafft eine angenehme Atmosphäre, in der man sich gerne Zeit nimmt, um das Essen zu genießen. Natürlich, wer lediglich nach einem Ort sucht, um den Bauch vollzuschlagen, wird hier nicht fündig werden. Aber genau das macht diesen Ort so besonders und einzigartig. Es ist ein Ort für besondere Anlässe, für Genießer und für all diejenigen, die die feine italienische Küche zu schätzen wissen. Ein Restaurant, auf welches wir uns schon Wochen vorher freuen. Übrigens: Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert. Der Platz ist begrenzt. Für uns ist dieses Restaurant zu unserem Lieblingsitaliener im Landkreis Cuxhaven geworden. Die Kombination aus unvergleichlich gutem Essen, der Leidenschaft der Besitzer, dem hervorragenden Service und dem wundervollen Ambiente macht diesen Ort zu unserem persönlichen Juwel. Zum Schluss sei noch die vorzügliche Auswahl an guten Weinen zu erwähnen. Wer mag, lässt sich vom Besitzer passend zu seinem Essen einen Wein empfehlen. Zu 100% ein Treffer. Natürlich strapaziert die "Osteria La Fenice" das Portemonnaie etwas mehr als die "übliche Pizzastube ums Eck", aber die Erfahrung, die Leidenschaft und die Qualität ist jeden einzelnen Euro wert. Wer nach einem italienischen Gastronomieerlebnis fernab des "Stiefels" sucht, wird in der Osteria La Fenice definitiv fündig werden.

Spitze! Selten so eine leckere Pizza gegessen. Auch die Getränke kamen bei jeder Bestellung sehr zügig.

Unser Lichtblick in Cuxhaven! Neben den regulären "Touri-Buden" waren wir dankbar endlich ein Restaurant gefunden zu haben, dass qualitativ hochwertige und hervorragend zubereitete Speisen anbietet. Die Osteria Le Fenice bietet authentische italienische Küche. Einige würden das hervorragende Essen als Soulfood beschreiben, für mich zauberte es ein Gefühl von "nach Hause kommen".

Im Centrum von CUX. In der Fußgängerzone deswegen kann ich nicht sagen wo die beste Parkmöglichkeit ist. Hier ist alles ein wenig gehobener. Pizzen findet man auf der Speisekarte nicht. Es werden nur wenige aber leckere Speisen angeboten. Ich empfand hier das Speisen als ein kulinarisches Erlebnis. Überaus freundliches Personal in einem schönen gepflegten Ambiente.

Es gibt eine sehr ausgefallene, sehr originelle Küche. Die Speisen sind excellent und köstlich😀 alles harmonisch abgestimmt, selbst bei einem unbekannten Detail. Der (die) Wein(e) von sehr guter Qualität. Allerdings kann man sich das Essen nicht so oft leisten wie man möchte, denn die Preise entsprechen der Qualität: sehr hoch! Aber es lohnt sich😁

Ein super Restaurant! Das 4-Gänge Menü war sehr lecker und hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr empfehlenswert 🥂
