Orangerie by Kafer in Oberammergau

Visited for a meal in the break in the Passion Play. The restaurant was very busy but the service was impeccable. The food was delicious and very well presented. Our waiter Lukas was amazing and looked after us very well. Definitely worth a visit

Dinner during the Passion Play is likely to be mediocre in most places as they cater for the mass market of organised tours. This Orangerie is the exception to the rule. We booked and paid in advance on the internet and to our great surprise they were expecting us! It is right opposite the theatre so don't be worried if you book the 1st sitting which starts at the beginning of the interval. You will make it. The surroundings are pleasant and the staff very helpful and good fun. Our table for 2 was ready with 2 bottles of wine and water included. Of course we could not do justice to the wine or we would have been asleep for the rest of the production. The food was very good indeed with a fresh starter, succulent fillet steak and a desert. You would be extremely pleased in the UK if you were served a similar meal. We were out in just over 1.5 hours with time to browse the shops selling expensive woodcarvings. I believe the permanent restaurant is in Munich. The cost was around €50 each and this experience represents good value.

In der Pause bei den Passionsspielen eingekehrt! Vor der Vorstellung Plätze reserviert, Menü ausgesucht und bezahlt. Toller Platz, super Essen und Getränke, ganz tolles Personal. Wir waren begeistert. Und mehr als zufrieden rundherum. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wer bei den Passionsfestpielen in einem tollen Ambiente sehr gut essen möchte und das bei ausgezeichnetem und sehr freundlichen Service, der ist hier richtig. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Großes Lob an das ganze Käferteam !!

Hier sollte man in der Pause der Passionsfestspiele einkehren. Es stimmt alles. Preis Leistung, Service, Qualität. Es ist sehr lecker, alles inklusive, man wird von einem Topservice begleitet. Wenn es diese Location auch zur Nichtfestspiel gäbe würde ich sicher wieder kommen.
