We had a delicious meal, sophisticated on the palate and a feast for the eyes… Plus, the atmosphere was incredibly cozy; you simply feel comfortable, well cared for, and in good hands. Thank you!!

We wanted to reserve a table by phone! We were very kindly informed that they were unfortunately fully booked, but that we could try our luck and just drop by! So we did, and we managed to get a seat at the bar! The food was very good... we had boiled beef with delicious fried potatoes! We had a lovely chat with the server and the cook! We mentioned that we were celebrating our 15th anniversary and were promptly given a delicious dessert on the house! We immediately reserved the same nice spot at the bar for the following evening! Many thanks again!

This is an absolutely fantastic home-style restaurant—the atmosphere is reminiscent of a cozy mountain hut, and the food is simply fantastic. Especially the Tafelspitz!

By far the best meal we've had in Germany! Don't get me wrong - all the food has been good. However, the spinach and cheese dumplings hit all the notes. And the pizza was on point, too. Opens at 6pm and kitchen closes at 9. Very friendly staff. Don't miss out!! September 2025

A lovely, small, and quaint restaurant. You immediately feel at home. It's like being at home. We had pizza and schnitzel. My pizza with feta cheese was delicious. A menu that was sufficient for us, very friendly service, and the cook brought us a delicious Kaiserschmarrn. What more could you want? Tip: Reserve a table in advance, and they only accept cash payments.

We went to Mühlbartl because of the good reviews and had a fantastic time! The food was world-class, from appetizers to dessert! Super delicious, and the service was excellent. We felt very comfortable! I highly recommend it.

An excellent dinner in this charming little restaurant, certainly a little out of the way from the city center, but well worth the effort. We had the daily specials (perfectly cooked, tender-roast beef with an exquisite sauce and a tarragon-spiced filet mignon, both served with spätzel) and the typical Bavarian dessert, the Kaiserscharnn: enormous but so good that we finished it all and it will stay in my memory for a long time. The atmosphere is cozy, the setting is typical, and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. In short, a wonderful discovery that we can only recommend.

THE place in the village if you are looking for some authentic and honest food. 10mins walk away from the tourist mainstream. Mainly visited by happy locals. Lovely ambitious team. Traditional but not overloaded atmosphere. Dishes wines and beers are just great. English spoken.

A super cute, lovingly decorated, and quaint restaurant! It's somewhat hidden away and a definite insider tip. The service was very warm and friendly. The food was something truly special. Fresh and incredibly delicious. If I'm ever in Oberammergau again, I'll definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

It was quite busy, but the wait was worth it: The Kaiserschmarrn is amazing!

Very good food and delicious wine, although according to the staff, it's no longer a wine bar. Accordingly, the wine selection is limited, but very good. The food is highly recommended and always a delight. Very informal and personal, with time for a chat with the staff. It's best to make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant gets busy.

Simply wonderful! The dining room is in the back of the house - so even if it's dark at the front, there's delicious food and incredibly great service in the back, both at the counter and from the kitchen. Delicious and wonderfully fresh Kaiserschmarrn with lots of great extras. Just great

We ended up here by chance because we were looking for something special outside of the tourist mainstream. And what can I say: it was sensational! Great, homemade dishes! Super friendly team! And above all, everything is affordable. We'll definitely be back!

We were warmly welcomed here and well served. And that even though there was a large party celebrating in the house at the same time. The quality and taste of the dishes were top notch! The atmosphere in the guest room is traditional Alpine. The beer garden wasn't that inviting for us. We can fully recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding local restaurant hidden away out of town. The best food I have had over three visits to Oberammergau. The ladies running it have changing menu based on local ingredients. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Last Thursday the food was outstanding and excellent again! In addition to the very good cuisine, special mention must also be made of the service, which is always exceptionally friendly, fast and courteous! The atmosphere is also very harmonious and cozy. We will come back soon. We can really only recommend the wine bar! You have to be glad that something like this still exists!

I thought there was no such thing anymore! A small, inconspicuous restaurant with a rustic but very appropriate interior. The food was incredibly good and freshly prepared. The cook definitely knows her craft! The selection of daily specials was also great. The lady in service was very nice and accommodating and was happy to explain the dishes on the menu to us because she noticed that we weren't from Bavaria. We were also offered small alternatives that were not on the menu, such as an ice cream pancake for dessert. All in all, a really successful dinner that I won't soon forget!

A little out of the way, but a definite hotspot! Rustic atmosphere, super nice and great service and a cook who really knows what cooking means! We had two meals from the daily menu that were worth every cent. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back!

Small, very quaint restaurant with great cuisine and very friendly staff. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, we still managed to get a seat at the counter. Here we were served great main courses and were able to watch the bartender Julian (after whom the pizza on the menu is named!) at work. The Kaiserschmarrn at the end was a highlight and put the icing on the cake of a great evening.

Preferably 6 stars. It was twice wonderful. Food tasted great. Service was super nice and just right. Ambience very quaint and cozy. It was really fun and the food was fantastic. Fresh and delicious. Real tip. And great prices too.

To recommend. Nice service, pleasant atmosphere. The dish of the day, onion steak and a house wine, a dream!

Ein großartiges kleines Restaurant mit hervorragender Bedienung! Das Essen schmeckt großartig und auch zu Zeiten der Oberammergauer Festspiele trotz einigen zeitlichem Stress außgesprochen nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir haben sogar bei voll ausreserviertem Lokal noch einen Platz an der Theke bekommen und wurden herzlich bedient. Wirklich ein Geheimtipp vom feinsten!

Essen herausragend gut. Auch Veganer werden richtig gut versorgt, einfach fragen! Tolle Atmosphäre, ganz urig und gemütlich.

Preise total angemessen. . Während der Passionspiele einen schönen Tisch für 2 finden? Im Mühlbartl fing das schon mit sehr freundlichem Mailverkehr an. Dann in der Pause des Passionsspiel dort gewesen: freundliche Begrüßung, schöner Tisch, schnell ein kühles Helles auf dem Tisch. Menuwahl: Salat, Käsespätzle, Bayrisch Creme - alles gut und reichlich und zu äußerst fairen Preisen. Wir haben versprochen auch ausserhalb der Passionsspiele wieder vorbei zu schauen, wenn wir in der Gegend sind - wir freuen uns drauf!
