Vorab gesagt: es hat gut geschmeckt. Das Lokal war bis auf einen Tisch leer. Aber wenn Mittags 50 Minuten Wartezeit aufs Essen sind, muss man den Kunden vorm Bestellen informieren. Es gab übrigens keine Mittagskarte mehr, Freitags. Die Biriani-Gerichte waren auch aus.

Es war ein tolles Erlebnis und das Essen schmeckte wie authentisch südindisch. Wir haben es alle sehr genossen und können es jedem nur empfehlen.

War alles perfekt, würde jederzeit wieder kommen! Super leckeres Essen!

Wir hatten die vegetarischen und die nicht-vegetarischen Kerala-Spezialitäten-Thalis. Alles war gut.

Ich war absolut begeistert von der authentischen Präsentation im Kerala-Stil und der Vielfalt der Speisen. Jedes Gericht sah frisch zubereitet und voller Geschmack aus. Besonders die Fischgerichte stachen mit ihren kräftigen Gewürzen und der wunderschönen Präsentation hervor. Die Portionen waren reichlich, und die Kombination aus Currys, Reis, Beilagen und knusprigem Papadam bot ein rundum gelungenes südindisches Esserlebnis. Das Ambiente war zudem gemütlich und einladend.

Immer wenn ich in Regensburg bin, besuche ich dieses Restaurant. Heute hatte ich das Kerala Thali Spezial, und es war einfach köstlich. Der Geschmack erinnerte mich sehr an selbstgekochtes Essen. Jedes Gericht wirkte authentisch und vermittelte ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit.

Dieses indische Restaurant ist ganz anders als die indischen Restaurants die ich sonst kenne, wir waren zu dritt und waren absolut begeistert von unseren Gerichten, wir waren schon das zweite Mal hier , eine absolute Empfehlung und mal etwas ganz neues in der Richtung indisch 😋

Ich habe die Dosa mehrmals probiert, sie gehört zu den besten in Bayern für südindische Küche.

War mir gar nicht bewusst, dass es ein südindisches Restaurant ist. Von den Gerichten und Gewürzen doch ganz anders und intensiver. Achtung man kam nur per Paypal oder bar zahlen.

Oota ist ein authentisches südindisches Juwel. Es ist mit Abstand das beste indische Restaurant, das ich in Europa besucht habe. Die Aromen sind perfekt getroffen und alles schmeckt frisch, traditionell und einfach köstlich. 😋 Ich kann es wärmstens empfehlen, falls Sie in der Nähe von Regensburg sind.

Ich war kürzlich mit Freunden in Oota und leider wurde ich enttäuscht. Die Dosa selbst hatte zwar eine gute Konsistenz, aber die Kartoffelfüllung war sehr spärlich und für die Größe der Dosa viel zu wenig. Außerdem war der Service recht langsam und nicht so aufmerksam, wie wir es erwartet hatten. Für den Preis hatte ich mir ein deutlich besseres Gesamterlebnis erhofft. Hoffentlich bessern sie sich in diesen Punkten!

Wir waren heute das erste Mal Süd indisch essen und sehr begeistert. Sowohl die Vorspeisen als auch die Hauptgerichte haben uns geschmacklich und optisch abgeholt. Sehr freundlicher Service. Wir werden definitiv wieder hingehen 🙃

Authentisches südindisches Essen in Regensburg. Ich habe das Essen und die Gesellschaft sehr genossen und mich gerne mit Rakshit und Sheetal unterhalten, die sich dafür einsetzen, den authentischen Geschmack südindischer Küche in die Region zu bringen.

Köstliches Essen, hervorragender Geschmack und Service.

Das beste südindische Essen in Deutschland.

Ich bin maßlos enttäuscht. Kann ich nicht weiter empfehlen. Der Service, ein absolutes No-Go. Und die Krönung war das wir uns während des Essens umsetzen mussten weil der Tisch benötigt wurde obwohl wir reserviert hatten. Das Essen war recht wässrig und das Brot sehr fettig. Bis wir eine Bestellung aufgegeben konnten verging eine gute halbe Stunde. Den Kellner mussten wir noch auf Englisch erklären was wir eigentlich wollten. Unterhalten konnten wir uns leider auch nicht da es viel zu laut war. Und an platzängste sollte man auch nicht leiden denn der Kellner hat nicht gerade viel Platz in den engen Gang zu servieren. Etwas positives gibt es aber auch, dass essen war relativ preiswert für ein Lokal mitten in der Altstadt.

Ich habe etwas ohne Schärfe bestellt, aber versehentlich eine scharfe Variante bekommen. Die Mitarbeiterinnen haben das sofort bemerkt, sind direkt zu mir gekommen und haben mir meine Bestellung umgehend noch einmal ohne Schärfe gebracht. Das Essen war sehr lecker, und der Service bzw. die Bedienung war wirklich gut.

Wir waren vom Essen in diesem Restaurant begeistert. Uns allen 4 (dadrunter auch Kinder) hat es sehr gut geschmeckt. Danke für dieses kulinarische Erlebnis!

Super leckeres Indisches Essen und sehr aufmerksamer Service. Das Gutscheinbuch wurde anstandslos angenommen. Die Reservierung wurde per WhatsApp vorgenommen und funktioniert einwandfrei und zügig.

Essen nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht außergewöhnlich für ein indisches Restaurant. Ambiente relativ schmuck- und farblos ohne Highlights. Servicepersonal nur teilweise des Deutschen mächtig. Leider nur Barzahlung möglich.

Bevor ich das erste Mal dort gegessen habe war mir der Unterschied von einem südindischem Restaurant zu den üblichen indischen Lokalen nicht wirklich bewusst. Aber das hier ist schon eine ganz andere Liga. Ich empfinde die Gerichte extrem vielseitig und außergewöhnlich gewürzt und geschmacklich richtig toll und nicht mit dem Standard zu vergleichen. Es gibt eine richtig große Auswahl an regional unterschiedlichen Gerichten und für die erste Auswahl der Speisen ist etwas Zeit nötig. Auch die angegebenen Schärfegrade sind hilfreich und wer scharfes Essen nicht verträgt oder mag sollte unbedingt darauf achten. Eine Vorspeise ist aufgrund der aus meiner Sicht kleinen Portionsgrößen sinnvoll, jedoch gibt es ausreichend Reis dazu. Preislich schon sehr hoch, aber dafür bekommt man mal was anderes serviert.

Schön hergerichtetes Lokal und typisch nettes indisches Personal. Wurden sehr gut versorgt und das Gutscheinbuch wurde auch ohne Probleme angenommen. Essen war auch sehr lecker und preiswert👍🏻 Kommen gerne wieder!

Wir sind Inder und leben in Amsterdam, daher wissen wir gutes indisches Essen sehr zu schätzen. Während unseres Kurztrips nach München besuchten wir auch Regensburg und probierten das südindische Restaurant Oota. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants versprach der Duft der Speisen ein großartiges Essen. Wir bestellten nur Vorspeisen – Kerala-Garnelen, Tawa-Fisch, Pilz-Chili und Gobi 65 – und jedes Gericht begeisterte uns. Es war wunderbar, in einer kleinen deutschen Stadt so weit von Indien entfernt so authentisches indisches Essen zu finden, sowohl geschmacklich als auch optisch. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und können das Restaurant jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der sich nach echten indischen Aromen sehnt – Sie werden es nicht bereuen!

Das Essen schmeckte definitiv authentisch südindisch. Schön scharf, lecker und schnell. Zum Glück war das Restaurant mit echten Fotos dekoriert und nicht mit unauthentischen Zeichnungen oder den bunten, klischeehaften Tempelschirmen, die man sonst in indischen Restaurants findet. Als Kannada war es mir außerdem wichtig, authentische Küche aus Karnataka zu bekommen. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Vermicelli Payasa war nicht so, wie ich ihn erwartet hatte. Es war nur flüssige Milch mit ein paar Fadennudeln. Deshalb gab es kein Dessert! Aber ansonsten war es absolut super.

Leckeres Essen und cooler Service

Fantastisches Essen 🥰🥰 So authentisch. Die Speisekarte gefällt mir auch sehr gut. Leckeres südindisches Biryani. Das Chicken 65 war ein voller Erfolg (10/10).

Ich war noch nie direkt im Restaurant, habe aber schon oft über Lieferando und Uber Eats bestellt. Ich hatte Hühnchen-Biryani, Vara, Chicken 65 und Fisch Molly nach Kerala-Art. Alles war superlecker, nur der Fisch Molly entsprach nicht ganz den Erwartungen.

Das Essen war köstlich und ich habe mich bei dem Erlebnis wie zu Hause gefühlt.

We stumbled upon this place on our way while driving via Regensburg. First thought after the first bite made us feel nostalgic.. Throughout the lunch we spoke about Banglore street food and enjoyed many dishes one after the other.. I wish there are more restaurants like this in Munich. It’s an Excellent South Indian restaurant! Large menu with selected dishes from all 4 major states of south.. Highly recommend to try their starters and Dosas. Thali was great as well! A must try place.

It's an authentic South Indian Restaurant serving South Indian delicacies in their original taste. It's run by Kannadigas. Ambience is nice with wall plates of famous South Indian Architectural temples. Service is very good. Taste is awesome. I congratulate and appreciate their venture in showcasing South Indian culinary to Germans and tourists from various countries. For South Indians residing in near by places to Regensburg it's homely taste of meals and snacks

The food is okay one dish was not so warm

I have been to more than 24 countries, I didn’t experience such a delicious South Indian food outside India. I don’t have enough words to express my feelings. Must try : Paneer Tacos as starter and for drinks try : Masala mint lime soda. The best Indian restaurant!

After trying several Indian restaurants in Regensburg, Oota is by far the best in all of Regensburg! If you want authentic Indian food, this is the place for you! I think the pictures speak more than a thousand words!

Visited Oota restaurant yesterday evening to have onam sadhya. It was very delicious , every curry and especially Adapradhaman. Literally asked them to serve each curry atleast twice or thrice, and they were very kind enough to do that. And I really appreciate it. Thankyou so much ❤️ I will definitely visit again with my friends.

I used to think Regensburg does not have proper Indian restaurants but lately more options started to come up. This place is marketed as more specific to South Indian cuisines. The menu options certainly reflect this. You can see common South Indian dish names. The mutton curry was OK i guess, nothing to write home about. Service is good. I liked the ginger tea, this was nice. Overall i can't give it 5 stars, the biggest reason being they don't accept card payment, only Paypal and cash? In 2025? Please sort it out.

It was a busy morning after a night of partial sleep and loads of work, so I decided to eat out. We went to our usual spot, Oota, hoping for some comfort food to recharge. Tired and drained, we stepped in — and were instantly greeted by the staff’s warm smiles. They introduced us to their new lunch menu, Chatti Choru — a traditional meal from my motherland that’s rarely available here. The moment we heard it, our exhaustion turned into excitement. When the food arrived, the aroma of the fish curry alone brought a smile to our faces. Every bite was rich in flavor, reminding us of home — like eating a lovingly prepared meal straight from our mom’s kitchen. By the time we finished, all the tiredness had melted away, replaced by energy, happiness, and that indescribable contentment only good food can bring. The photo we took might not do justice to the meal — we were simply too eager to dive in! Thank you, Oota team ❤️ — you didn’t just serve us a meal, you served us a piece of home.

Oota in Regensburg is a gem! Delicious and authentic food, bursting with flavor and served with so much love. We shared every dish and felt like we were having a cozy family feast. An amazing place for both great taste and warm hospitality!

The food was amazing! Truly felt the authentic South Indian taste. I also tried the Kerala Sadya dishes, and they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Authentic, south Indian food, much better and different than any other Indian restaurant one commonly finds in Germany (or all of EU for that matter). Starters were good and there was authentic south Indian flavours in them. Main course on the other hand was underwhelming compared to the staters - talking about vegetarian lunch options on a weekend, which is quiet limited, compared to what we saw on the weekday menu. We felt some items were overpriced too. Service though is a bit of a problem. It took over 40 minutes to get the starters, which then arrived about 15 mins apart between the 4 items we ordered. Main course was 20 mins after that and nobody asked for refilling drinks. Went in hungry, almost left hungry... Staff seemed overwhelmed and not very friendly but did apologise multiple times for the delay in service, which hopefully improves in the future.

We've been sitting outside for over an hour and haven't gotten any food. Everyone who came into the restaurant after us is already eating. Never again!

I recently went to Oota, to try their Diwali menu. The food was so yummy, just like homemade dishes! I've been to Oota a bunch of times before, and every visit feels like a taste of home. The food is fantastic, and the staff is super friendly. This time, during Diwali, they had some special dishes that were delicious and made the celebration even better. Oota is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Europe!

We had a chance to try Oota in Regensburg this weekend. We went there for a lunch and the tables were available easy. We ordered a Watermelon Mint Mocktail which was just about OK. We then ordered a Ghee roast Masala Dosa, Bonda soup, Idly Vada Sambar and Paneer ghee roast Tacos. All of the items were very fresh in mouth and tasted ridiculously good. The winners for me were the Paneer Ghee Roast Tacos (best in spicy !) and the Vada. I absolutely loved eating here after a long time, will definitely visit here again.

My eyes lit up when I saw the name, nostalgic, having been in Germany for 6months now, by far the best Indian food I would say. Had the non veg thali and Appam, it was on point. A short walk from hbf, the ambience is nice, walls have wonderful pictures of Bangalore , India - ties the whole setup together.

We have ordered from Oota for a event and the food was amazing. The quality of food was on point . It was warm and tasty. Starter was crispy. Korma was spot on with spice and less oil. Must mention that Sheethal was in contact throughout the discussions and confirmations. Really happy to ordered with her and looking forward to order for other events.

Very friendly service, very hard working. You can also sit outside, cozy little alley... Extensive map, The food was very tasty, but the level of spiciness 2 (2 pepperoni) was very spicy. We were offered yogurt, which made the spiciness more bearable. Thanks for the attention.

We ordered two vegetarian dishes to be delivered and are sad to say we were very disappointed. Food was bathed in oil and we found it very tasteless.. Bread was stale and equally tasteless, there were no options for drinks and when out food arrived it was half heartedly wrapped. Bread almost loose in the bag and the currys covered in oil. Maybe its better eating there but I would not recommend getting take out here.

Nice kannada restaurant with a small menu. Food was good and service as well. The ambience is very fun with hilarious posters about Bangalore. Only drawback is that they only accept cash.

If you want to try out authentic Mangalorean cuisine, "Oota" is a must-visit place. Since I am endemic to a similar region, the food was absolutely delicious. I have been here multiple times, and every time, trying out different dishes was a delight. What I liked the most about the food was the veracity of spiciness. Personally, the meat-based dishes are always compelling for me. However, there are great options for vegetarian and vegan dishes too. Following are my recommendations if you want to (as it says on their menu), "break your spice virginity": Appetizers: - Chicken 65 & Gobi 65 - Ghee Roast Tacos (both variations, Chicken and Paneer) - Pepper Chicken - Mushroom Chili - Tulasi Chicken - Prawns Fry Main Course: - Ennai Katharikai - Kodi Miriyalu Kurma - Mysuru Koli Saaru - Mutton Saaru - Kori Gassi - Thengai Pal Meen Kozhambu What I liked most about the restaurant is their breads. They serve the breads from the South, like Parotta and Puris, unlike the mundane Naan. There are also many dosa items, out of which the Chicken Kheema Dosa is my favorite. Personally, I would highly recommend the above-mentioned dishes, as these are a must-try. Enjoy!

The ambiance was very nice, but unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly impressive. The sauce was quite tasteless, the vegetables seemed frozen, and after we said we were ready to pay, we had to wait over 40 minutes (and the service generally seemed overwhelmed).

The Kori Gassi with Parota was super delicious!

Moderate taste according to me. Dosa was Moderate. I ordered lemonade, but received sprite.

If you're a South Indian living in the Middle Franconia or Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria and missing the authentic taste of South Indian cuisine, then Oota is the place to be. I went there with my cousin in search of Pathiri and chicken, but unfortunately, the recent menu update had removed this item. As Parotta was also unavailable, we had to settle for Puri. However, we were in awe when we tasted the fried prawns and chicken curry—the flavors were spot on and reminded me of the food I used to have back home in Kerala. The unavailability of certain dishes wasn’t an issue, as it was due to the large weekend crowd. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated as soon as a table became available. The service team was exceptionally friendly, and the overall ambiance of the place was warm and cozy.

Unfortunately no longer recommended. Last year we were totally amazed by this Indian restaurant, especially the spectacular dosas. Now a lot has changed, the dosa selection has shrunk to 4 and instead of the crispy rolls with various sauces you now get tiny, sparsely topped, limp pancakes with 1 spicy broth. A joke for the price, the chicken dosa is a small appetizer at a high price, the egg dosa consists of 2 of these pancakes with some unseasoned scrambled egg glaze on top. Really cheeky

Finally an Indian in Regensburg who spices things up really well, not a soft-spoken "German Indian"! This doesn't mean "just spicy", but rather intense flavors. The food also contains crushed residues of spices, i.e. they butter in a lot of spices. This is what Indian must taste like! Please continue like this! Portions large, meat tender as butter, starters a dream. The coriander sauce is amazing! Only ordered so far, so no statement about the ambience and service is possible.

Finally an Indian who deserves the name. We like to come back again and again because the food is simply well seasoned and tastes wonderful. Yes, there is no mango lassie, probably because it would require syrup, and we get the impression that they avoid artificial ingredients at Oota. So definitely recommended!

Authentic south Indian restaurant with menu consisting for flavourful dishes from all southern states and is a restaurant apart from any other typical Indian places we have been to. Its warm, welcoming ambiance and great service makes the experience even better. A big thank you to the owner for bringing such a wonderful dining experience.
