Nice restaurant with great service and very good drinks. The food is visually beautifully presented, unfortunately the taste cannot keep up. A consomme for €16 has to blow me away in terms of taste and simply be spicy. Here I had to add more salt and it wasn't actually much better than in an upscale inn for half the money. The problem persisted with the other dishes except for the pigeon, which was almost at star level thanks to the excellent sauce. Don't get me wrong, the food is high quality, but for me the price/performance ratio isn't right. For example, the saddle of venison for €39 was OK, but 5 Schupfnudeln with tons of red cabbage didn't make things complete. It also didn't seem fresh, seared but rather heated again in the steamer. For my wife, the venison ragout for over €30 was just a mountain of pasta with a kind of goulash sauce. Every venison ragout in a regular restaurant can do more and costs less. Anyone who has some star experience knows that you have to pay a little more for the money. So in my opinion either level up for the money or just adjust prices. Even €16 for an average glass of red wine is just too much.

Service is professional, quick, unobtrusive and very well trained. Food to the point, highest quality and taste without words. The rest still had room for dessert. The ice was melting away. We went to Ontra Restaurant for dinner with my wife. We received a warm welcome and the staff took excellent care of us. It is very nice and pleasantly furnished. You feel very comfortable and welcome. The food was excellent. We each had a starter, an intermediate course, a steak as a main course and a dessert. There was also a delicious greeting from the kitchen 😊👍. The beef tartare and the couscous salad tasted very good. During the intermediate course, the Pulpo was the highlight. Mega tender and soft grilled, tastes perfect. The game ragout was very well prepared, a bit too much salt for me, but otherwise very tasty. The beef fillet was, in my opinion, perfectly prepared. The wild garlic dominated the herb butter, which I particularly liked. The dessert was also convincing. The pistachio ice cream could have a bit more volume and body. The staff was always there for us. You will definitely get a good wine recommendation here. The waiting time for the food and drinks, as well as the time between courses, were very well planned. Only one thing could be noted. The white ragout plates should be polished a little better so the water stains wouldn't be so visible. In summary, it was a very nice evening, the price-performance ratio was absolutely right here. Thank you very much, we would love to come back.

Der Service ist stets präsent, immer am Gast orientiert und sehr zuvorkommend. Der junge Weinfachmann begeistert mit Kompetenz und Humor...alles in allem jedes Mal eine wahre Freude und den Preis definitiv wert. Hoffentlich kann das gesamte Team das Niveau noch lange so hoch halten.

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the praises of many other guests - I would like to explain the reasons below: We had booked the gourmet menu for the same evening at short notice, i.e. in the morning (longer-term planning is sometimes difficult with small children), which appealed to us much more than the regular menu. Following the instructions, I stated this in the comments and also received confirmation from the system. When we arrived there was a brief confusion, then we were told that the gourmet menu could not be offered at such short notice and that we could only receive one or two courses of the same. I was really disappointed about this because, as I said, I didn't find the regular menu that appealing and I also find it very irritating that the "most modern restaurant" in Regensburg doesn't manage to adapt the reservation system accordingly or at least put a corresponding sentence on the homepage - I know that from other houses. Of course, I can understand that you have to plan the use of goods accordingly etc., but if there is no indication otherwise and it is confirmed systemically, I will assume that the menu is also available for short-term booking. Out of necessity we chose the starter, intermediate and main course from the regular menu, but apart from the salad the kitchen couldn't convince me. I didn't think the cooking point was good with the scallop because it was no longer translucent, but when it came to the dry aged steak, the opinions between me and the service and the kitchen differed significantly on "medium rare" - for me it was meat simply too well done, whereupon they explained that it was less bloody when dry aged (which I find understandable), but I am still convinced that it was no longer medium even for dry aged. This may be subjective, but overall I would have liked my complaint to be handled more professionally and not just dismissed/overlooked. Even the initial offer that we could have one or two courses from the gourmet menu was not proactively taken up again - I would have expected that from a hotel that advertises itself with so many superlatives and very high standards . When it comes to service, I want to differentiate - the lady who mainly served us was really very friendly and tried hard; The gentleman, on the other hand, seemed to be of the opinion that there was nothing he could do to save me and behaved accordingly - however, he is a capable sommelier and the wine with the steak was a good recommendation. I also found it irritating that smoking is allowed on the terrace by default, which I find very annoying, especially with high-quality food. Luckily, the lady at the next table took over the complaint about this, so I wasn't the bad guy again... In summary, the evening that I was really looking forward to was not a good one for me. I would have liked that they had at least made a serious attempt to accommodate us in some way, even if the mistake with the incorrect reservation confirmation was clearly not ours - but there was no apparent enthusiasm to lift the mood or offer compensation. Our visit was several weeks ago and as far as I can tell, the homepage has not been changed to prevent this situation. My husband and I have often been guests in upscale restaurants, including one- and two-star restaurants (mainly in our home region of Nuremberg) and have both come to the conclusion that the price-performance ratio at Ontra is not good and we do too Didn't find service convincing. Therefore, no recommendation and we won't be visiting again anytime soon - next time we'd rather go to Mr. Schmaus or to the Gänsbauer restaurant.

The best food in town for us for years...who needs a star? Fish or seafood variations are always a dream, both in terms of preparation and product quality. And the service is also impressive every time. Always present, friendly and uncomplicated...the young wine expert is also a real asset with his knowledge and unerring recommendations.

We would have liked to have ordered a glass of wine with the main course, but unfortunately the staff lacked the attention, which is a real shame. No doubts - 5 stars! Four of us had dinner. It was excellent from starter to dessert. Great quality and special requests were addressed without any problems. What was worth highlighting was the great service. It was so good that no one even thought about pictures :)

The terrace is actually wonderful. Unfortunately we sat between two smoking tables. Especially the cigar smoke from one table was extremely disturbing.

The dishes were beautifully presented, but otherwise didn't really live up to the advertised standards - it lacked the surprising kick that we had hoped for. The ingredients are often not regional, but rather far-fetched and apparently brushed to make an impression. The wine list is very long, we opted for glasses of open wines, which unfortunately weren't worth the steep prices. We can't say anything about the ambience inside, but what exactly is this luxury sleigh supposed to do on the lawn in front of the terrace? The walnut bread was very good, the service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long. Overall, unfortunately disappointing.

Ultimately, as always, we were thrilled with our visit to Ontra. There were 2 smaller restrictions this time: firstly, the tables outside were placed too close together. So we heard the conversations from the neighboring table very well, without these guests speaking too loudly. On the other hand, the beef steaks were not as good as on our other visits. But that definitely won't stop us from coming back. The service is simply fantastic: very attentive and sensitive.

It was a wonderful evening! Great service, good advice from the sommelier and very good food. The only comment would be that the tagliatelle were too soft and the sauce didn't have enough oomph - and there could well be another sophisticated vegetarian dish on the menu. We'd love to come back.

Somehow the food lacks something special for the price. In brief: Starters: Carpaccio was very good, tuna tartar was ok. We then waited over an hour for our main course. The halibut was delicious, the noodles were completely over-oiled. You get the feeling that the price/performance ratio isn't right for some of the dishes. Winemaking was very good.

The first time about a year ago I was completely thrilled. Why I didn't rate it back then, I have no idea. Today we were there for lunch for a business meeting and we still loved the atmosphere. The service was also very professional, quick and friendly. What was noticeable was that there was comparatively much less going on than on the last visit. But over the course of the meal I realized why. The food was significantly down compared to last time. The menu was much simpler and the quality of what came out of the kitchen, both visually and craftsmanship, was unfortunately only slightly above pub level. The prawns were over the top, which was a real shame given the obvious initial quality of the products. The portions clearly vary in size. (A serving of 5 and one of 7 at the same table simply doesn't work.) The tomato-watermelon salad suffered from a tasteless watermelon, so it was a tomato salad with filler. Everything presented somewhat unimaginatively in a deep plate. But then it was the sliced ​​veal that took the cake, which was also served in a bowl-like plate, full to the brim and served with unimaginative croissant noodles like it was for fourth grade lunchtime. In terms of taste, it was quite nice, but light years away from the supposed Guide Michelin recommendation, which we could mentally understand from our last visit. I'm afraid, ambience or not, that I'll have problems getting my husband to go there again for the next business lunch.

Modern restaurant where we were able to sit outside in sunny weather. Wednesday is grill time, so we were served grilled fish and meat. The starters were also very original.

We liked the atmosphere (terrace) and the service was attentive and very friendly. My wife's burrata and scallops were very good. My daughter's salad and my fish soup were good, but our two main courses (tagliatelle and lamb ragout) were average at best. Overall, I see a big discrepancy between expectations and reality. If you want to be one of "the best restaurants in Regensburg", you should feel that way as a guest. We've had a really good meal at ONTRA, but last night wasn't one of them. There is simply no consistency here. What is very constant, in my opinion, is the unreasonable price/performance ratio. From the drinks to the starters, main courses and desserts, your visit to ONTRA will last for a long time. Especially in your wallet. A pity.
