I whent for my Aniversary with my husband and the service and the food was incredible. ❤️I loved it I definitely have to go back. ❤️

What can I say? I think you have to experience it for yourself. I would describe it as fine dining, something any normal person can go to. I also think the prices are very reasonable. The staff are incredibly friendly and the decor is very fitting. The food is spot on, and the wine recommendations are also very good.

This was my third time at Ontra (twice privately and once for an event). The first time (before the award of a Michelin star) we were blown away! The service was outstanding, the food excellent, and it was an all-around great evening, and the high prices were legitimate! The event was also a great success. Now we were there with good friends because we were so enthusiastic and didn't want to keep it from them – unfortunately, this time it was a sentence with an x: "That was nothing, unfortunately." There was absolutely no flexibility in responding to allergies (onions, garlic, and tomatoes) (meaning no appetizer or intermediate course was available for the person in question). The main course was served with herb butter (which contained garlic) (despite repeated mention of the allergies and requests for alternatives). It's a shame that in a restaurant like this, flexibility on the part of the kitchen isn't possible, and that mistakes like this are made. The food was good, but not much more than that... Unfortunately, the service also left a lot to be desired... We had to ask for more drinks, and after the meal, we were never asked whether we wanted an espresso or dessert. It's a real shame!

Fine Cuisine with Minor Flaws The food was consistently very good, the ambience stylish and inviting – a place where you enjoy being. The service was decent, albeit with room for improvement. I'm criticizing at a high level here, but I think that's to be expected from a Michelin-starred restaurant. I'd particularly like to highlight the tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms – my personal highlight of the evening. For my main course, I chose a fillet steak with roasted vegetables and potato gratin. The steak tasted excellent, but it was served lukewarm, and the potato gratin was unfortunately completely forgotten. Empty bottles and glasses were also left on the table for a long time, which somewhat tarnished the otherwise positive impression. Overall, the restaurant offers a very good dining experience in a pleasant atmosphere. However, I would have appreciated a bit more precision and attentiveness in the service – especially considering the Michelin star.

We wanted to have a drink after dinner at another restaurant and were initially turned away, saying the kitchen didn't have enough capacity for the food, which we understood. However, once we were seated outside, we were reminded again that it wasn't possible to serve ourselves drinks either! The terrace had three tables, and the inside was busy, but if I have the nerve to turn people away for drinks, I wonder what could possibly be going wrong. We will definitely not be visiting the restaurant again. Something like this has never happened to us anywhere, in or outside of Germany!

The food is excellent, and so is the ambiance. We just had bad luck with the service: very slow, orders forgotten, some of us were left with two empty glasses each, no refills, and our fifth request for an ashtray was met with a rude response.

We were in the Gourmet Restaurant. The food was beautifully presented, but the taste didn't blow us away. The service seemed overwhelmed. We had the wine pairing, and for two dishes, the wine arrived when we were almost finished.

The food never disappoints, and the ambiance is incredibly beautiful both inside and out. The staff is very attentive. I especially recommend the beef fillet!

First of all: Ontra is a real gem! A pleasantly small menu awaits guests, and the service is very personal. The quality of the food is absolutely spot on. Why only 3 stars from me? For a one-star Michelin restaurant, I expected more. I felt the refinement was lacking. I was at the restaurant for lunch a while ago—before the star-rated restaurant era—and found the offerings more surprising and witty. My tip: go there yourself, because taste, impressions, and perceptions are always very individual.

The food, both the fillet steak with broccoli as a side dish and the flank steak, were exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented. We've never eaten such tender flank steak, and the quality of the beef fillet and the side dishes was also very high. The tartare starter was exceptional and excellent. We'd happily return!

Unfortunately, not satisfactory. We won't be coming again.

I celebrated my birthday with friends and family at Ontra – it was a fantastic evening! The quality of the food, the stylish ambiance, and the excellent service made the evening special. Peter and his team do a fantastic job here. We'll definitely be back.

We had a lovely evening at Ontra – a stylish, modern ambiance that immediately captivates. The evening began promisingly: a rustically served amuse-bouche with homemade bread and antipasti. There were some real culinary highlights: The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent – buttery soft, crispy, and perfectly prepared. The pasta dish (tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms) was also impressive; the kitchen was flexible and easily served it as a half portion on two plates. The black-feathered chicken tasted good, but lacked texture and crunch – a shame. Unfortunately, the service on this Monday evening was overwhelmed. While always friendly and attentive, there were clearly too few staff: we sat for almost three hours for three courses. This noticeably tarnished the overall impression, as the tables were often simply not cleared away or empty glasses were left standing. An espresso without crema is simply not acceptable in a restaurant of this standard – that was absolutely disappointing. Finally, dessert revealed a blatant professional error: The basil sorbet was served already melted at the table – incomprehensible (and also how the waitress couldn't see it) and avoidable. Since no one was available for several minutes, and I hate throwing food away, I ate it anyway. What a pity! The taste potential of this €12 dessert was only hinted at. To finish, there was a piece of baklava – a nice gesture that unfortunately couldn't completely reverse the negative trend… Conclusion: Good food in a lovely atmosphere with significant potential for improvement – especially in the (already very friendly) service and the details on the plate. We wouldn't completely rule out a second visit, but hope for a more complete experience. Due to the inconsistency we experienced today, we're postponing our planned visit to the "Gourmetstube" for now…

We were at Ontra with the family in the evening and ate à la carte. We didn't choose the Michelin-starred menu, but rather a deliberate selection from the regular menu. And it was consistently impressive. Even the appetizers and entrees were a delight. The steak tartare, the chanterelle linguini, the tuna sashimi, and the romaine lettuce were finely seasoned, beautifully presented, and immediately made us want more. The main courses continued at the same level: guinea fowl, Wagyu, and classic Wiener schnitzel. Everything was perfectly prepared and tasted perfectly. The desserts were also impressive. The crème brûlée with tonka bean was aromatic with a crispy caramel layer, and the chocolate mousse was light and intense in flavor. Also worth mentioning is the well-curated wine list, with suitable bottles for every budget. The prices are fair, which nicely rounds off the relaxed atmosphere of the evening. Overall, it was a very successful visit with attentive service, a pleasant atmosphere, and culinary variety.

The food was delicious. The service was good, but unfortunately, the waitress didn't come for a long time at the end, and we were left sitting with our empty glasses. What a shame! It happens sometimes. Otherwise, everything was perfect. 👍. What I also find unfortunate is that it was an 18th birthday, and the table wasn't set for it without a 🌷. Even though we had let them know. A shame. So it wasn't acknowledged.

Highly recommended, newly awarded Michelin star restaurant

Aus für uns wichtigem persönlichem Anlass habe ich einen Tisch für zwei in dem Gourmetbereich von Restaurant ONTRA in Regensburg für einen Samstag gebucht. Das Restaurant bietet Plätze für bis zu 180 Gäste (90 drinnen & 90 draußen), gem. Website und nach Angabe des anweisenden Personals „wir sind heute Abend ausgebucht“. Kurz nach unserer Buchung wurde dem Gourmetbereich des Restaurants ein Michelin-Stern verliehen. Wir kennen andere Restaurants mit Michelin-Stern(en) und waren gespannt, was uns erwartet. Unsere Intension ist es nicht, jemand oder etwas kleinzureden, sondern andere Gäste zu informieren, was wir erlebt haben und sie zu erwarten könnte. Wir haben unsere Plätze in dem Gourmetbereich kurz nach 18:00 Uhr eingenommen. Was haben wir erlebt: • Fliegen herrschten in dem abgeriegelten Gourmetbereich; wir haben die ersten eigenhändig eliminiert, weite Fliegen haben uns belästigt • die Lüftung/Klimaanlage funktionierte kaum / nicht; es war sehr warm; die weiblichen Gäste wedelten mit den Servierten • einige der nach uns kommenden Gäste kamen mit kurzen Hosen, barfuß und in SANDALEN • einige der Gäste ließen ihre weißen Stoffservierten zu Boden fallen und traten mit Absicht mit den Schuhen darauf • das Personal stellte sich vor als „seit Jahren erfahrene Studenten“ – die in dem Gourmetbereich allein bedienende Kellnerin, sowie andere nichts sagende Hilfskräfte • das Personal machte sich über längere Zeit kaum bemerkbar • nach genau 2 ¼ Stunden nach unserem Eintreffen war nur der erste von sechs Gängen serviert • einer der Tische wackelte und wir haben das hastige Bemühen der „leitenden Studentin“ erlebt, mit einfachen Papierrollen den Tisch für die inzwischen umgezogenen Gästen zu fixieren und für die kommenden Gästen „erlebbar“ zu machen • die Akustik war so perfekt, dass wir, ohne es gewünscht zu haben, Details über die letzte Kreuzfahrt der Gäste am Nachbartisch erfuhren, sowie (leider) vieles mehr • nach freundlichem Auffordern, nach 2 ¼ Stunden, dass wir die nächsten Gänge genießen würden, haben wir gesagt bekommen: „…im Gartenbereich ist eine große Gruppe heute Abend da und die gesamte Küche ist damit beschäftigt“, was Priorität hätte, wir sollten uns gedulden UND wir sollten berücksichtigen, dass das Gourmeterlebnis etwa 3 ½ Stunden dauert; womit und warum wurde uns nicht erklärt • nach genau 2 ½ Stunden wurde der zweite Gang „PULPO“ serviert; die Tagliatelle waren nicht ausreichend gekocht, also hart, die Mini-Oktopus waren verschrumpft und trocken, wahrscheinlich von zu langem Erwärmen unter der Lampe, der N25-Kaviar, der als Marke den anwesenden Gästen nicht bekannt war, konnte es trotzdem nicht wettmachen • die folgenden Gänge waren qualitativ gut, unserer Meinung nach jedoch nicht Michelin Stern – würdig • nach etwas mehr als 3 ½ Stunden, den fünften Gang überspringend, haben wir bezahlt und die Lokation hastig und erleichtert verlassen. Für uns ist es nicht nachvollziehbar, wie einem Restaurant, das fürs Massenpublikum ohne Zweifel geeignet sein könnte, ein Michelin-Stern vergeben kann und das für einen getrennten (Gourmet-)Bereich, der die formalen Kriterien dafür eigentlich nicht erfüllt. Wir würden dieses Restaurant in keinem Fall als Gourmet-Restaurant mit Michelin-Stern bewerten, empfehlen und erneut besuchen.

A delight with minor drawbacks We had a truly lovely evening in the Gourmetstube at the ONTRA restaurant in Regensburg! We particularly appreciate the very friendly wait staff, who looked after us excellently throughout the entire evening. The wine pairings were very well-matched to the dishes, and we were also delighted by the wide selection of sophisticated cocktails. The wait time between courses was perfect, which contributed to a relaxed and enjoyable dinner experience. The food was delicious, sophisticated, and ambitious – you can tell that great importance is placed on quality and creativity. However, there are a few minor comments that would have made our experience even more complete: The furniture and ambience of the main room of the restaurant seemed a bit more inviting than the Gourmetstube. This is, of course, a matter of personal taste. Furthermore, the order of the courses on the menu was not quite correct, although the staff promptly and charmingly apologized for this. Unfortunately, the wine for one course did not arrive quite in sync with the food, which was a minor blemish. The wine pairing, which was not listed on the menu, was also a detail that might have come as a bit of a surprise to some guests. Despite these minor remarks, we highly recommend the Gourmetstube at the ONTRA restaurant for an upscale dining experience. The staff and the quality of the food make up for any minor flaws!

Unfortunately, my visit was unsuccessful in pretty much every respect: I received the menu after 15 minutes, and the aperitif arrived barely 30 minutes after ordering. The accompaniment to the sashimi was underseasoned—the buttermilk mousse and the cucumber salad were both practically tasteless. This is a shame, especially considering the effort put into the kitchen. One plate and both wine glasses had noticeable streaks; the dishwasher was probably not set correctly. The service was a bit stiff at times. The ambiance is modern but comfortably lit.

A very nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. There were four of us. The service started out very good, but then declined significantly. All the servers were very friendly, but no new drinks were offered with our meals, and unfortunately, no dessert or coffee after the main courses. We had to wait quite a long time before we could order more drinks. We waited over half an hour to pay. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet my personal expectations. The starter and main course were far too lightly seasoned and nothing special. I felt this lacked a flavor explosion. I've had better food for the same price and for less. Of course, this is a matter of taste and can vary from person to person.

Generally a nice restaurant. Very elegantly decorated. The food is interestingly prepared and presented. However, I expected a different level of service. There was very little interaction with the waitress throughout the entire evening. They forgot to ask for drinks, and no dessert menu was offered. After dinner, we had to wait 40 minutes to pay. The food was also underseasoned.

We ate at Ontra on May 25th for our first wedding anniversary. We found the restaurant by chance on Google. We were both so impressed that we will definitely be back. The service was excellent, every request was accommodated, and the recommendations were perfect. After just over two hours, the waitress even took time for a short chat outside the restaurant. The price is reasonable for this restaurant.

We've been to Ontra twice now within two months. The food and service are excellent! The pictures here are from two visits. The only slightly negative point is: why is the option to select an occasion when making a reservation, but then it's completely ignored? Our first visit was a birthday, and at least a congratulations should have been included out of politeness, considering they're asking about the occasion 😉 But I'm not deducting a star for that, because the food and service are simply Michelin-star good 😉

Stylish restaurant with great food

We visited this restaurant for the first time on January 4, 2025. We had a reservation and received a very friendly welcome. After our jackets were taken, we were taken to our beautifully decorated table. We chose an aperitif, starter, starter, main course (with red wine), and dessert. The food was absolutely delicious! From the salmon to the Parmesan tortelloni and the beef fillet with side dishes to the ice cream/sorbet, everything was perfect. If you're looking for something truly delicious, this is the place to be. Your palate won't be disappointed! The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. A beautiful dining experience from start to finish. The staff was warm and welcoming, and every dish exceeded our expectations—both in presentation and flavor. We were genuinely impressed. If you're visiting Regensburg, Ontra is an absolute must-try!

What a lovely evening. We visited Ontra on a Friday to try the vegetarian "Experience Menu." Ontra is very tastefully decorated in dark tones. Although the restaurant was busy, we were immediately greeted very warmly upon entering and shown to our seats in a (slightly) private area. This is where the Experience Menus are apparently always served. We found it pleasant to be a little quieter, separate from the very busy main dining area. The vegetarian menu consisted of five courses. Each course was a delight for us. The flavor combination of the ingredients and spices was simply perfect. The craftsmanship and presentation of the individual courses were also very appealing and visually pleasing. My personal favorite was the celery variation with sherry and balsamic vinegar... Even ingredients I usually avoid, such as coriander or truffles, were wonderfully integrated into the overall flavor of this menu. Despite my reservations, they contributed significantly to the taste experience without being too overbearing. Very well done. Our special appreciation goes to the patisserie at Ontra: The dessert combination, which was served and explained to us personally by the chef, was, with its tarragon note, literally the highlight of the evening. The service was always attentive without being intrusive. The explanations of the individual courses of the menu were very friendly and understandable even for us "laymen." The young lady was very committed to her work; you could tell at every moment that she enjoyed her job. She guided us through the evening with humor, attentiveness, and knowledge, thus perfectly complementing our experience at Ontra. The wine pairing was very well chosen for our taste, although we wouldn't have chosen one or two of the wines ourselves, regardless of the menu. Overall, the combination of fine ambiance, delicious menu, and perfect service was an experience for my wife and me that we will remember for a long time. Many thanks to the entire Ontra team!

Booking online is easy, with a reminder. Very friendly welcome, given a very nice large round table (5 people). Very tasteful greeting from the kitchen. The service ladies were very attentive and friendly. No longer waiting times. Food extremely tasty. We'd love to come back!

Was für ein schöner Abend. Wir waren an einem Freitag im Ontra, um das vegetarische "Experience Menu" zu probieren. Das Ontra ist sehr geschmackvoll in dunklen Tönen eingerichtet. Obwohl das Restaurant gut gefüllt war, wurden wir beim Betreten des Ontra sofort sehr freundlich empfangen und zu unserem Platz in einem (leicht) abgetrennten Bereich geführt. Dort werden wohl immer die Experience Menüs serviert. Für uns war es angenehm, etwas ruhiger, weil getrennt von dem sehr geschäftigen Haupt-Gastraum zu sitzen. Das vegetarische Menü bestand aus 5 Gänge. Jeder einzelne Gang war für uns ein Genuss. Die geschmackliche Abstimmung der Zutaten / Gewürze war einfach perfekt für uns. Ebenso war die handwerkliche Leistung und die Präsentation der einzelnen Gänge sehr ansprechend und hat uns auch optisch Freude bereitet. Mein persönlicher Favorit war die Sellerie Variation mit Sherry und Balsamico... Selbst Zutaten, die ich sonst eher meide, z.B. Koriander oder Trüffel, waren bei diesem Menü einfach wunderbar in den Gesamtgeschmack eingebettet. Trotz meiner Vorbehalte trugen sie, ohne sich in den Vordergrund zu spielen, einen wichtigen Teil zum Geschmackserlebnis bei. Very well done. Unsere Anerkennung gilt besonders der Patisserie im Ontra: Die Nachtischkombination, die uns vom Chef persönlich serviert und erläutert wurde, war mit ihrer Estragon-Note im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes die Krönung des Abends. Der Service war jederzeit verbindlich ohne jede Aufdringlichkeit. Die Erklärungen zu den einzelnen Gängen des Menü waren sehr freundlich und auch für uns als "Laien" verständlich. Die junge Dame war sehr engagiert bei der Sache, man merkte zu jedem Moment, dass sie Freude an ihrer Aufgabe hat. Sie hat uns mit Humor, Aufmerksamkeit und Wissen durch das Menü begleitet und damit unser Erlebnis im Ontra perfekt unterstützt. Die Weinbegleitung war für unseren Geschmack sehr passend zur Menüfolge gewählt, obwohl wir für uns wahrscheinlich den ein oder anderen Wein, unabhängig vom Menü, so nicht gewählt hätten. Insgesamt war die Kombination aus feinem Ambiente mit perfektem Menü und Service für meine Frau und mich ein Erlebnis, das uns lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Vielen Dank an das ganze Team vom Ontra!

The three of us had dinner at Ontra on Sunday evening. With beautiful weather and the best service, we were able to fully enjoy the evening at Ontra. We all had three or four courses that left nothing to be desired. They were sophisticated, delicious and very pretty to look at! We were all particularly happy about the lobster, as it is far too rarely found on menus. The light and fruity desserts are also definitely recommended!

Business lunch with seven people. It was perfect.

It was a lovely evening with very tasty food. But: Somehow the service seemed overwhelmed with the wine list, ordering from the wine list, etc. Although it is criticism at a high level, However, at >200€ for 2 people, I expect that you don't have to ask whether you can also order a wine.

Simply fantastic. Food, service, everything...!

Great restaurant, great service, fantastic food. Even the aperitif selection is great and exceptional! And a big recommendation for dessert is the pistachio ice cream! I have never eaten better in my life. Beautiful location!

Small menu, probably the most popular main course (duck) was no longer available, the remaining selection wasn't amazing. Food disappointing. If you don't eat all of the bread, you won't be able to feel full. Price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. Mini side dishes (more like decoration) or extra side dishes can be ordered at an additional cost. If you can't cook fried potatoes in the kitchen, you shouldn't offer them! ... Mini tables for 2 people, layout could be improved... It's a shame, we were looking forward to a nice Sunday evening, but were very disappointed. We're not going there anymore.

Wir waren mal wieder im Ontra und waren dieses Mal enttäuscht 3 x Aperitiv, 1 x 0,25 l durchschnittlicher Wein, 3 Flaschen Wasser 4 x Vorspeise, 4 x Hauptspeise, 2 x Nachspeise, 1 x Espresso Geschmacklich gut, aber sehr kleine Portionen, fast wie im Sternelokal Wir wurden nicht satt und gingen mit Resthunger nach Hause Muss das ein wenig sitzen lassen, bis ich mich zu einem neuen Besuch durchringen kann Service war zudem etwas überfordert

We had the lunch menu and came spontaneously with 6 colleagues. All 3 courses were excellent. The ingredients were high quality and the steaks were all done to the desired degree. Price/performance ratio absolutely fine. Will try the 7 course menu in the next few weeks. Everyone was very satisfied. Staff polite and in a good mood. Waiting times ok. Nothing more is possible in Regensburg.

Very tasty lunch menu in a relaxed atmosphere. Lunch was 35€ with a large soup, roast beef and a dessert with espresso. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime - make a reservation. A small point of criticism - it's better to put pepper and salt on the table straight away before you have to wait too long for your warm meat

Unique service. Super nice hosts. The whole thing combined with a small, high-quality card. If you want to spend a wonderful evening, you can pamper yourself here. Service is very important here. From the greeting from the kitchen to choosing your personal steak knife to the sweet surprise at the end. Simply an all-round successful experience. Thank you for that. We can only recommend you.

Unfortunately disappointing, at least this evening. The ambience is extremely nice, but it doesn't outweigh the negatives. Time from entering the restaurant to serving the main course was 2 hours, and there was an incredibly long waiting time after ordering. Steak lukewarm, potato gratin cold, but something new was brought. The water we ordered was forgotten, as was the wine list we requested. There are enough staff and generally very friendly. A glass of wine accidentally spilled over a lady's back can happen, but it's still embarrassing. In the toilet someone vomited into the sink and toilet, the restaurant can't do anything about it, it was just the icing on the cake. For the price you have to expect more.

The food was extremely good, not too extravagant but still elaborate and special! Honest food!

Very attractive restaurant in a modern but cozy style, toilet immaculate, gladly 5 stars. Reception very friendly, initially very friendly, open and competent service, unfortunately then a change of person, who was friendly but very reserved and cool. Therefore unfortunately only 4 stars. Our starter was modern and good, a little too much cream cheese for the amount of roast beef, the pickled parts were very good. The bread, 3 variants, was very good. My main course was good, the meat quality was very good, very well fried. The sweet potato puree, too sweet for me and a consistency like baby porridge, not really my cup of tea. A little more sauce would have been good and a little more spiciness. The portion size could be adjusted slightly upwards. It was just enough because we had eaten a lot of bread. The Wienerschnitzel, on the other hand, was anything but a real pleasure for me and my companion. Dry, actually no butter taste, the breading didn't rise. Actually disappointing, unfortunately. The fried potatoes, unfortunately not a highlight either. All in all a meager 4 stars. I would have liked to have given it a 5 but only got a 4. Nevertheless, I would like to give the restaurant another chance and we will visit it again to see whether criticism is accepted.

We were here for the first time. First of all, the food was excellent. We each had a little bit of everything, everything tasted great and was placed on the plate with a lot of care. The service was great at the beginning, attentive and quick. You could still work on a few little things here and there given the level you're aiming for here. Unfortunately, the attention of the service changed over the course of the evening as the restaurant became more crowded. Whether you can blame this on the staff or the lack of staff is up to you. But as a guest it is of course a bit of a shame if you have to wait longer until someone comes to the table. If you appreciate good food, Ontra is definitely worth a visit.

A visit to ONTRA is definitely worth it. From the beginning you will be pampered with a greeting from the kitchen until the end with sweet attention of the highest quality. Sensational menu and excellent service

First I would like to give 5 stars to the kitchen - the food was fantastic. We all expected more in terms of service, hence a star deduction. It started off wonderfully here, but slowed down a lot towards the end and no one wanted dessert anymore. The ambience is great, but a star was deducted here because it was quite cool and there was quite a draft in the “aisle area”. All in all, it was a nice evening, but it didn't quite live up to expectations. There is also a high level of complaining here, as 3 of the 6 guests come from upscale restaurants. But the food alone is worth a visit 🌟

In contrast to our previous visits, unfortunately some things didn't go so well yesterday. First of all we had to wait a long time for the tickets and unfortunately the long waiting times continued, drinks, greetings from the kitchen and then the food. Unfortunately, the four of us didn't get our starters or the main course at the same time. It may have been due to the appointment, but it was a shame for us. I hope everything will be perfect next time.

We have been visiting ontra for several years now and it is one of our favorite restaurants in Regensburg, but unfortunately the food took too long on our last visits. Yesterday our reservation was at 7pm and we had to wait 2.30 hours for the main course to arrive. And it's not the first time

Food and ambience top! Any time. But: reserved at 11:30 a.m.; At 11:40 a.m. all 11 people were seated - there was no service for 30 minutes. By then the restaurant was full and we had to wait a long time.

High-quality cuisine and motivated, friendly service. Price/performance fits. A little too loud, as the seating is relatively tight. Comfortable is different. Still happy again.

Oops! The second time I've been here, the last time a year ago at least the service was top, this evening unfortunately below average. There probably won't be a third time. Unfortunately no one showed up after the meal and we had to go to the front ourselves to order more drinks. Food (at least mine) below average: starter salad so sour that it was barely edible, lettuce leaves not fresh and a really unfortunate composition. Unfortunately, truffle pasta was too dry and not worth the price. Schnitzel always looked pretty good. Last but not least, a tip, dear girls: it's part of good parenting to turn around when saying goodbye and to say at least a quick "bye" instead of looking at your cell phone! Typical example of a poor price-performance ratio.

**Review for the restaurant Ontra** Seven of us were at the Ontra restaurant in Regensburg at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Unfortunately our evening started with a long wait. Although we were immediately shown to our table, it took over three quarters of an hour before we received our ordered aperitifs. The wait for the food was even longer, so the main course wasn't served until 9:35 p.m. The portion sizes were more suitable for small appetites. The schnitzel was particularly disappointing as it was barely seasoned. The chef could definitely add a little more spice here. Overall, our visit to Ontra was unfortunately not satisfactory. The long waiting times and the small portions somewhat spoiled our expected experience.

Overall, nice location with top service.

What should be highlighted is the friendly, unobtrusive service. Even though the restaurant was full, the service was quick without being rushed and very friendly.

Outstanding dining experience. Everything is really right here, perfect service, in a relaxed atmosphere paired with excellent food. It really doesn't get any better than this! Just choosing which steak knife to use is a real USP! Anyone who comes to Regensburg should plan a visit to this restaurant. Recommendation: reserve in advance!

Since the Ontra was introduced, it has really been a highlight for Regensburg and I am very happy that the quality has maintained and that the card also offers something new. The wine list is well sorted. The staff is always friendly.

Food was excellent, service was good, ambience was nice but very loud. Drinks service was a disaster: first it took forever until the aperitif was served, then empty glasses on the table were "overlooked" and then the wine ordered with the courses only came after the courses had been consumed (or had become cold).

Sehr gute, von Zeit zu Zeit wechselnde Auswahl an Gerichten mit angenehmem Service. Nur der Geräuschpegel ist bei vollem Haus u. U. recht hoch.

The food was very good, but I would like to make a few comments. 1. If you serve truffles with homemade tagliatelle, there should be no parmesan mixed into the pasta. Please add extra parmesan, otherwise the truffle taste will be drowned out. 2. The sommelier was excellent and was able to recommend several wines to us, and our selection also matched the dishes. The service staff was also knowledgeable and served us unobtrusively and very friendly. 3. BIG CRITICISM: Dogs should not be allowed in restaurants of this class, especially since staying in a restaurant is proven to be torture for animals. P.S.: I love animals, but not animal abusers.

My best friend and I had dinner at Ontra last Saturday night. Tasty delicate fine food, and an absolutely sweet waitress who kindly helped us in english and french, to make us feel more comfortable. We had such a nice time. Danke.

Heute waren wir zum Abendessen im Ontra und ich muß sagen, einmal und nie wieder. Hatte ein Entrecote Medium bestellt und es kam durchgebraten auf den Tisch. Hab die Bedienung freundlich darauf hingewiesen, worauf sie meinen Teller mitnahm um 5 Minuten später damit zurückzukommen mit der Aussage, die Küche sagt das passt so, nach dem Motto friss was auf den Tisch kommt. Bei einem Preis von 55,-€ für das Steak denke ich, könnte man zumindest den bestellten Gargrad erwarten und nicht respektlos abgefertigt werden. 10 Minuten später kam die Bedienung erneut und fragte ob ich ein neues Steak will, was ich ablehnte, da meine drei Begleiter ja fast fertig gegessen hatten. Weitere 5 Minuten später kam die Bedienung erneut und teilte mir mit, dass ich das Steak nicht zu bezahlen brauche oder eine kostenlose Nachspeise erhalte. Da ich niemals eine Nachspeise esse, musste ich ihr Nachspeise Angebot leider ablehnen. Als dann die Rechnung kam, stand das Steak wider Erwarten auf der Rechnung die vollständig beglichen wurde.

Ontra is definitely one of our favorites. The food is always a highlight and the staff is very friendly. You feel very comfortable here as a guest.

It was our first time at ONTRA and we were really impressed by the great ambience and the really excellent food. Despite the large number of guests, the service was always friendly and courteous. We will definitely come back.

Nice restaurant with great service and very good drinks. The food is visually beautifully presented, unfortunately the taste cannot keep up. A consomme for €16 has to blow me away in terms of taste and simply be spicy. Here I had to add more salt and it wasn't actually much better than in an upscale inn for half the money. The problem persisted with the other dishes except for the pigeon, which was almost at star level thanks to the excellent sauce. Don't get me wrong, the food is high quality, but for me the price/performance ratio isn't right. For example, the saddle of venison for €39 was OK, but 5 Schupfnudeln with tons of red cabbage didn't make things complete. It also didn't seem fresh, seared but rather heated again in the steamer. For my wife, the venison ragout for over €30 was just a mountain of pasta with a kind of goulash sauce. Every venison ragout in a regular restaurant can do more and costs less. Anyone who has some star experience knows that you have to pay a little more for the money. So in my opinion either level up for the money or just adjust prices. Even €16 for an average glass of red wine is just too much.
