DUHOK Grill-Restaurant in Regensburg

Definitely not going to this restaurant. We were served raw meat. The chicken smelled foul and the minced meat skewer was still raw. The veal wasn't cooked through either and tasted like rubber. I don't even want to get started on the taste. They even messed up the salad. It wasn't fresh and had no dressing. It was just a bunch of carelessly thrown together greens. The entire meal ended up in the trash... We paid €50 for the duhok plate, two minced meat skewers, and a salad. It's a disgrace.

We first had to ask at the kebab shop next door where the entrance was hhh, a few more signs, for example on the terrace side, would have been nice, and then there were gas problems, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the food, because the grill plate was amazing!! And we probably would have gotten seconds as a small apology for the long wait!! It doesn't give an Arabic impression at first, more of a rustic Bavarian feel, but as I said! The food was really amazing and the service very attentive!! We really enjoyed our birthday dinner! We will definitely be back!

Very friendly and attentive service, and we also had lovely seats on the balcony. The dishes were consistently delicious, and leftover Kurdish bread was even wrapped up – very attentive. There were also minor weaknesses: • The white wine spritzer was changed to a different type during the meal – nothing dramatic, but noticeable. • Requests for changes to the meal were not accepted, even though there were hardly any guests. A new dish was offered, but by that point the portion was already half eaten, and we would have preferred a small concession on the bill. Conclusion: Overall, a great evening with delicious food and friendly service. Slight deductions for flexibility and handling of requests for changes.

I went to Duhok with a friend yesterday. We received a warm welcome from Ahmed and were shown to our seats. With so many delicious dishes on the menu, I had a hard time choosing. 😉 I finally decided on grilled calamari with vegetables and salad. My friend ordered scampi. The food was plentiful and very tasty. It was served with fresh, warm flatbread. 🤩 Many thanks to the Duhok team! The food is still delicious! I'd love to come back. Our children also enjoy the dishes on the menu. I think it's great that there's free parking in the basement.

We visited Duhok because of the good reviews – and we can confirm the good reviews. First and foremost, the freshly baked organic bread. But the appetizer platter and the mixed grill platter were also great. To finish off, a house shot of schnapps – what more could you want?

Very nice place. Big plus - tables on the balcony. First time tried kurdish food. Everything was very tasty. Ordered mix plate, chicken nuggets and drinks. Price is also good. Very friendly staff. That was the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. We were visiting Regensburg and were very happy that there was a Kurdish restaurant as we are Kurds ourselves and with such a Google review we thought we couldn't go wrong. Well, we were wrong that evening. We still had stomach aches from spending so much money on so much rubbish. It had nothing to do with Kurdish cuisine. The salad for the grilled dish was just a few leaves picked from the lettuce, a tomato, a slice of cucumber and vinegar. The doner meat was not fresh and tasted like it had been warmed up, just like bulgur, as if it was two days old. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant. The only positive thing was the waiter, who was very friendly.

No, not recommended. The website and what's on site don't match... The fact that it's on the first floor and there's no elevator isn't conducive to us with mobility issues. I can't comment on the food and drinks; we left, only accepting the waiter's apology in the form of an espresso. So, folks, it's better to go to a nice beer garden nearby; you'll have more of a treat there.

Unfortunately, this shop doesn't deserve the name duhok. I am a native of Duhok and I am ashamed of the store. The bread wasn't cooked through and had way too much dough. The food wasn't really appetizing and the meat wasn't cooked through. The service was okay but unfortunately we still had to wait around 40 minutes for our food and then ended up being so disappointed. We don't even need to talk about the ambience. You don't feel at all like you're in a Kurdish restaurant Unfortunately, a complete disappointment.

We were passing through Vienna looking for a restaurant that offered falafel and the like. We were thrilled with the dishes we ordered Had: 1x Erbil (falafel plate with salad, tzatziki, bread & bulgur) and 1 x Azad (grilled vegetables with sheep's cheese, falafel, potato, grape leaves stuffed, tzatziki, spinach, bulgur, hummus. The dishes were excellent, starting with the home-baked flatbread, which was served hot and was delicious, soft but crispy at the same time, to the falafels, the special bulgur, the stuffed grape leaves, etc. The dishes were very aromatic, harmonious and particularly well seasoned. This is how I imagine a REAL Arabic cuisine. Quantity: generous - we were hungry and more than full😀 Service: very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Price-performance: 👍👍👍 Location: quite close to A3 (4 km from the motorway) Parking spaces: available If we lived in Regensburg, we would definitely be permanent guests here😋😋😋 We will definitely stop here again next time we are passing through. Always a pleasure!! This wasn't our first time here - and certainly not the last either! The price-performance ratio is simply extremely good: you get huge portions, everything is freshly prepared, and we barely manage to finish it all every time. In particular, the freshly baked bread that is served with it is an absolute dream - warm, fluffy and simply delicious. Every time we feel welcome and completely full and happy. We are already looking forward to the next time!

Unfortunately I have to correct my review from 2 years ago. This evening we were at Duhok for the second time. The food was okay, definitely better prepared and tastier two years ago. The worst part of our visit, however, was when it came to paying. Our waitress came to our table and said €65...I was quite surprised because he didn't bring a bill and the amount seemed strange to me too. Completely lost in thought, I then gave him €67. After he left, I looked at the menu and added up our food and drinks and came to €45.60. I then asked for the bill and it was almost identical to my bill. Since I had already paid, I left it at that... However, we will not be coming here again and would like to warn against this scam. _____________________________________________ Definitely worth a visit. The two of us were able to get a table spontaneously. There is sufficient parking space 100 m from the restaurant following the street. It is also well signposted. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant and very nice service. We ordered the starter plate and a mixed platter. All dishes come with homemade, warm bread. Very large portions and very fresh and tasty food. Everything we tried was very well seasoned and tasted very good. The prices are a little more expensive than you are used to, but the quality and size of the food make up for it.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, with 3 waitresses and 4 occupied tables that should work. There is a ventilation system in the guest room, which creates a draft and it is very cold, so I had to put on my winter jacket. I ordered calamari and it wasn't cooked through, which was a shame. Overall, given the price, it doesn't really fit.

The absolute low point was a cooked ladybug in the spinach, after which the appetite was gone... The bread was really tasty and the only thing that filled us up to some extent, but you don't go to a restaurant just to eat bread. The service was understanding and courteous, but unfortunately it didn't make the whole experience any better. Ambience only gets one point, because the interior of the restaurant does not correspond to the pictures on Google in any way: it is a completely normal German restaurant...

We already know the landlord from the Duhok restaurant on Augsburger Straße. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always excellent. Nothing has changed after the move to Theodor-Heuss-Platz. Still really good and that's why we like to come back again and again.

We visited Duhok for the first time yesterday with a group of eight people. We were completely satisfied and will definitely come back. The food was excellent, the portion sizes were more than generous and the quality of the food gave you a rustic feeling. Authentic cuisine at fair prices, with very friendly and attentive staff. We ended up in Duhok today by chance and I have to say, we didn't regret spontaneously choosing this restaurant. We had calamari from the grill and the kebab plate. Both were super tasty, including the flatbread. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and after the meal there was a schnapps on the house, which is not a given and made us very happy. Next time I definitely want to try the Kurdish dishes. I've already got a few things in mind. Since we live nearby, I'm happy that our neighborhood has been enriched with a new, great restaurant. We will be coming more often now and are looking forward to the delicious food.

I recently went to this restaurant and tried Kurdish food. The food was generally ok, but there were a few surprises. The kebab plate came with a mushroom cream sauce, which was an interesting variation, but instead of the usual fries there was some kind of potato wedges, which didn't quite meet my expectations. It was a little unusual, but still okay. Unfortunately the ambience was a disappointment. The decoration didn't fit the theme of the restaurant at all. Instead of a cozy, Kurdish atmosphere, there were photos of Split, a port in Italy, and sailing boats. This had absolutely nothing to do with the food and left the impression of an inappropriate decor. Therefore only one star for the ambience. However, the service was excellent. The host was really great, attentive and friendly. You could immediately tell that he places great value on the well-being of his guests. This definitely improved the experience and was a definite plus. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star due to a nasty surprise in the hotel toilet after dinner. It just wasn't pleasant and unfortunately spoiled my visit a bit. In summary: Good food, fantastic service, but the ambience and aftermath could definitely be improved.

We wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday and made an appointment via email for Saturday March 2nd at 5 p.m. Where we also got confirmation. When we got there after the 40 km long journey, we were faced with a closed door. The sign said "closed for renovation" something like that doesn't work at all. What a shame!

An excellent restaurant and the only true delivery service in Regensburg. We don't order anywhere else anymore. The food has already cured us of some bad party consequences. Wir waren zu dritt dort und zwei von uns haben gegessen. Es war ein sehr netter Abend. Parkplätze sind ein kleines Stück entfernt, aber das macht nichts. Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen hat gut geschmeckt. Hatten zusammen den Vorspeisenteller (man bekommt ganz tolles Brot dazu), einmal Duhok und einmal Schilan. Wir gehen gerne wieder hin

Das Essen hier ist sehr gut und frisch. Das Fleisch, vor allem, die Hackfleischspiesse sind sehr köstlich. Es gab dazu sehr gutes frisches Grillgemüse. Das Brot was hier mit dazugereicht wird ist sehr gut und frisch. Auf der Speisekarte steht eine große Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Es gibt Vorspeisen, Gyros, Steaks, kurdische Spezialitäten vom Lavasteingrill und vieles mehr.. Das Lokal liegt direkt an der Autobahnauffahrt und hat einen kleinen Parkplatz. Bisschen versteckt hinter einer Mauer ist ein gemütlicher gepflasterter Biergarten. Vom Strassenverkehr bekommt man nicht viel mit. Das Lokal innen ist gemütlich eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Personal ist super nett und aufmerksam. Die Preise sind etwas gehoben bei sehr guter Qualität, also völlig in Ordnung. Ich kann das Lokal nur weiter empfehlen. Tolles Ambiente und super gutes Essen !

Wir staunten nicht schlecht als unsere Gerichte serviert wurden, es sah richtig nice aus. Vorallem das riesige Fladenbrot war unser Highlight (wie man am Foto unten sehen kann). Das Essen war richtig lecker und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett. Der Gastgarten ist groß und man hat viel Platz. Was noch toll war, das waren die gemütlichen Loungeplätze 🙂 Also dieses Restaurant ist auf definitiv weiterzuempfehlen! - verdiente 5 Sterne ⭐
