Old Bank in Karlsruhe

The dish did not correspond to what was offered on the menu. Instead of minced steak filled with sheep's cheese, there were 2 small meatballs with a fatty filling 😁 and 3 small cubes of sheep's cheese! The waiter responded to my complaint very calmly. It wasn't the first time that customers were disappointed. The delivery butcher is to blame🤷‍♂️ There wasn't even an espresso as an excuse. 😬 Conclusion, not again so soon!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the "Alte Bank" restaurant and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The ambience of the restaurant is inviting and charming. The furnishings, which are reminiscent of the building's history as a former bank, give the place a unique atmosphere. The service in the restaurant was also first class. The staff like Finn and Polya were very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. My order was served promptly and I felt well looked after throughout the entire visit. Overall, my visit to the “Alte Bank” restaurant was an extremely positive experience. I highly recommend it and look forward to dining there again soon :)

Relatively small menu with moderate prices. The taste is good and the portions are sufficient. It wasn't busy, but it still took quite a long time before we could order the food. Very nice atmosphere. Mobile gourmet block accepted without any problems.

Ich war neulich in diesem Restaurant und die Terrasse hat mich echt umgehauen! Die Atmosphäre dort ist einfach genial – super entspannt, mit viel Grün und richtig gemütlich. Perfekt, um den Abend draußen zu verbringen.

I was at this restaurant recently and the terrace really blew me away! The atmosphere there is simply brilliant – super relaxed, with lots of greenery and really cozy. Perfect for spending the evening outside.

Bring plenty of time if you want to eat here before visiting the theater! And be sure to reserve in advance. Far too few waitresses, but they were still incredibly friendly! Table too small for 2 plates, chairs uncomfortable. Kitchen overwhelmed with too many orders. We had sausage salad with fries, which tasted very tasty, but the portion was pretty manageable for the money.

We were there very spontaneously today. I have to say that I haven't been served such bland and cold food in a long time. I decided on the stuffed minced steak, but the filling in the form of sheep's cheese was almost non-existent and the meat could have really been seasoned. The cevapcici were very hard fried, but at least the food was hot. Well, I don't know if I want to experience the summer menu again. The service, was nice and attentive, promised to pass on the feedback to the kitchen, one can only hope so.

Large outdoor area. Food was very good 👍. Price-performance ratio absolutely fine. We didn't have a reservation but got a spot without any problems. The only negative point is the chairs. They are very uncomfortable. Seat cushions would be great.

Despite having an hour of time, we didn't manage to make our Pisa and the burger. Therefore we had to cancel the order 10 minutes before the start of the theater. This also happened to other guests who were there earlier than us. Too bad. It's not bad if there's a lot going on. But it would have been good to have been warned early on that it would take a long time. Communication is easy and helpful.

Very pleasant cafe. The drinks and food are very tasty and the costs are completely reasonable. The staff is super fast, meaning you can enjoy your drink in no time. The loungers give you the feeling of being on holiday. The music is calming, so you can treat yourself to a drink after a tiring day. Orhan in particular gave us a very warm welcome and advice. I actually didn't want to comment on it - but since I was asked to do so: Our mistake was that we assumed we had made a reservation at the restaurant - we really enjoyed this on our last visit. However, after the third employee did not respond on his own, we asked and were directed to the beer garden. We reached this point in time before our reservation time. Our reservation was also written out on the table, but two unreserved guests had already ordered - even though we had reserved for four people. Isn't something like that noticeable? After some back and forth they finally found a table for us. The drink order was taken and served at the table, then nothing happened for a long time. The food could only be ordered upon request. After 30 minutes, a waiter brought food that wasn't ordered - the correct delivery took another 40 minutes. The Chevapen were dry and charred, there were no onions. After we ate we spent another 60 minutes with the empty plates - somehow no one felt responsible for us. There was no question as to whether everything would be okay or whether we had any further wishes. Only the payment took place without waiting time. But we weren't satisfied. At least we won't want to stop in the beer garden anymore.

If you want to sit in the middle of the city, OK. The food was great. We all enjoyed it. The service was also great, so you can be happy that the waitresses are in a good mood, given the many guests.

I regularly work next door and can say with almost certainty that there is only a single playlist playing outside in the same order every day... As a guest, it probably doesn't matter at all, but it annoys me. There is so much good music on the planet.

We sat outside after the theater. Sunday evening, 8.30 p.m. The service was very friendly and quick. Unfortunately, there was only one of the three non-alcoholic beers on offer. Likewise with the meal, no sausage salad (at this time?) so currywurst was ordered. It was carelessly placed on a huge plate with fries and nothing else (decoration?). Hunger doesn't drive it... Too expensive for that. Things definitely used to be better.

You can't eat there because the staff isn't able to bring food to the table within 1.5 hours, not even just 1 portion of French fries or a small salad. Unfortunately, it is not possible to eat before going to the theater unless you want to spend at least 2 to 3 hours there. After all, the waitress advised us in advance not to order any food.

We wanted to eat in the old bank before going to the theater. First there was no service for a long time and then it took over an hour and there was still no food. When we asked and was informed that we had theater tickets, we were told there were problems in the kitchen and she couldn't tell us how long it would take. We then canceled the meal and went to the theater hungry because there was only 10 minutes left. I would have expected better communication from a restaurant that is right next to the theater and that it is common for theater guests to eat there.

We had a reservation, but you weren't allowed to sit inside. It was closed there. No notice by email or at the door. First there was a sign inside. Okay, the weather was nice, okay. But then there’s also a super small menu. Again no information on the homepage or when making the reservation. Since I can't eat everything, I spied the burger. But there wasn't. On the whole, it would have been good to communicate the information in advance. This saves you disappointment. A pity! By the way, here in the review you have to select things that you can recommend. Funny, the burger is there too...No words

Ladies and Gentlemen You have us for June 23rd. confirmed the reservation of a table. When we arrived yesterday, after a 25 km drive, we were told that there were no reservations on the 23rd. There was no one in the restaurant, everyone was gathered outside in front of the bank for the public viewing. We find it a particular mockery that we were sent a reminder about our reservation on the 22nd. What am I supposed to think of this? I was very annoyed yesterday and am awaiting your response.

The tarte flambées were great, our service was great. We always come here before visiting the Chamber Theater. I had made reservations for 8 people (none of them football fans - there are also) in the interior. Unfortunately we had to sit outside, which was nice given the warm temperatures...but...there was a huge screen set up and a football game was being broadcast. Communication and conversations were not possible due to the volume of the television. Vll. If I had been informed about this, we would have eaten at a different location this time. Our reservation for a business lunch for 20 people was simply forgotten and we had to spontaneously look for another restaurant. Very miserable experience.

We came to celebrate our birthday with drinks and dancing, super nice service and so much freedom in this super beautiful bank bar, wonderful! Great fun!

Unfortunately, after the change of ownership, a disaster regarding food; My wife's burger was terrible - a mayo miracle; how much can you go wrong with a burger?, fries too hard; Service is nice, fast and friendly, but......always with the yellow wiping cloth in hand - when assigning seats, cashing out, clearing dishes - cleanliness is good, but that's not possible! You have to wipe down the place, but then the rag has to stay on the counter!; few dishes, which isn't necessarily a bad thing; but prices are too high for this service; cheap, greasy menu behind foil now; the restaurant next to a theater could be a gold mine (like it used to be), but the concept doesn't fit; Not even the beautiful pink lighting in the evening works anymore; definitely won't be coming back, even if the waitress really meant it kindly and offered a drink or espresso on the house for every mistake during the meal; you have to fundamentally change everything and the chef should also be a chef! Oh yes - my food didn't taste good (Spätzle with shredded chicken).

Priced a little higher. But super friendly and attentive service and delicious food. The ambience is exceptionally modern and comfortable. We will definitely come back.

Although Google Maps stated "open until 12:00 a.m.", we were turned away with 8 people at 9:45 p.m. with the information that the kitchen was already closed and the bar had already served the last round. So either the store has a problem with the timeliness of its published opening hours or the employees (and/or management) don't care about sales. So there is definitely a lot of room for improvement in terms of service.

We ate here before going to the theater. We got the menu quickly, only no one came to take the order, we had to go to the waitress and ask her to come. I had a salad with chicken, my husband had a schnitzel (you could read the newspaper through it, it was so thin) the price-performance ratio is not right here. Next time we go to the theater we will eat somewhere else.

We had a small table for 2 people. The plates were so big that they didn't quite fit on the table. We didn't like that so much. The food was of a good standard. It was very busy and very loud at 7 p.m. After the show started in the theater, things were better.

Really one of my favorite restaurants in Karlsruhe for a long time. Very friendly staff and really great food!

I came across the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that you couldn't order two rump steaks with the gourmet block. Whereupon I had to choose another dish. The burger was also tasty, but the bun was well charred and very small. To make it easier for the next guests who have a gourmet block, here is the solution: Do you only get certain dishes or a special menu? No, at all restaurants that offer 2:1, you can choose from any main course from the menu (including high-quality dishes or seasonal offers) and the equivalent or cheaper main course is free (see rules). Without Schlemmerblock I wouldn't have gone to the restaurant.

Das Essen war ganz OK aber etwas zu teuer. Es ging schnell, die Bedienung war freundlich aber wenig informiert. Es war einiges nicht mehr zu haben, was auf der Karte stand oder Teile des Gerichts fehlten, was wir leider erst erfuhren, als das Gericht dann eben nur teilweise serviert wurde. Wir waren mittags dort und es war sehr laut.

Sehr nettes Personal das Essen war auch sehr lecker, kann ich nur weiter empfehlen!

Das schnitzel schmeckt nach altem frittieröl....könnte besser sein.

Alles gut, sind immer wieder gerne dort

Es hat uns alles gut gefallen und geschmeckt, aber die Sanitäranlage (hier Damen WC) waren unter Niveau. Neben dem Waschbecken stand das Wasser auf der Ablage, keine Seife im Spender, der Handtrockner (Luftgebläse) selbst und auch die Wand und der Boden drum herum war dreckig und eklig. Es heißt immer schau dir die Toiletten an, dann weißt du wie es in der Küche aussieht - ich hoffe nicht so... Hier wäre unbedingt eine Grundreinigung/Renovierung erforderlich und dann eine regelmäßige Unterhaltsreinigung wünschenswert.

Preis, Leistung war okay. Essen war gut. Küche bzw Getränkeausgabe bietet Luft nach oben. Schon die Getränke ließen fast eine halbe Stunde auf sich warten, Essen eine Stunde.
