Stay away from the XXL schnitzel. Horrible... I almost wrote "meat." A disgusting texture, it felt like breaded boiled ham. Was it perhaps pressed meat? And the dessert... Ready-made chocolate mousse mix is perfectly fine in a cafeteria, but this pseudo-rum flavor, which can then hide all sorts of other culinary horrors, is not acceptable. A complete disaster for over €20.

The GALERIA Restaurant offers a surprisingly good selection of fresh food at fair prices. The hot dishes are delicious, especially the daily specials and the salad buffet. The service was friendly and prompt, even though it was a bit busier at lunchtime. The atmosphere is functional but clean and tidy – it's easy to find a seat and has a good overview of the various stations. The restaurant is a good choice for a break from shopping or a quick, hearty lunch. Not fine dining, but definitely recommended!

We recently ate at a restaurant in Karlsruhe. The staff at the food counter were very friendly. We had the roast pork with potatoes, which was delicious, and it came with carrot salad. Hmm, we didn't like the carrot salad; it came from a jar or can. 🥴 It tastes so much better with fresh carrots.

After a long time, we decided yesterday to go back to the restaurant in the Galeria Karlsruhe shopping center. On our last visit, we opted for the afternoon special (grilled fish or meat and vegetables and/or salad from the buffet). The fish tasted like it had been reheated several times and was simply inedible. Yesterday, I got a salad from the buffet; it wasn't anything special, but perfectly acceptable. My husband had asparagus with potatoes (€11.95). The potatoes were tasty, but the asparagus was far too firm, poorly peeled, and drowned in a carton of hollandaise sauce. We sat in the side room, overlooking Kaiserstrasse, at the very back. Like other people, we searched in vain for a place to return our tray. Others hoped for the coat rack, which from a distance looked like it might be suitable. Others left their trays on the table. We took ours with us. The nearest place to put it, a tea trolley, had a huge sign that read: "Do not leave anything here." So we put it on the counter just before the cash register and continued on our way. Suddenly, the employee, who was already looking quite grim while we paid, shouted at us loudly to take the tray with us. She was so furious she couldn't contain herself, and the entire restaurant witnessed the incident. I'm over 60 years old and have never been treated like that in my entire life. If she disagreed with what we were doing, she could have told us calmly and, above all, explained where we were supposed to return the tray. But we cannot and will not tolerate such behavior. In all the self-service restaurants we go to (e.g., EXO at the Zoo), there are trolleys everywhere where you can put your tray, plate, and glasses. We would have gladly done the same in this restaurant. However, there was no visible option for us. Or are customers actually expected to carry their dishes right up to the toilet? We recommend that staff receive further training in customer service and that appropriate return trolleys be provided.

This restaurant is bright, spacious, and modernly decorated. It serves seasonal cuisine, coffee, and cake, among other dishes. Drinks are also available in a wide variety. The seating is very pleasant. I would like to see vegan options.

I only remember it from before, when it was still good. Today I was there with my mom and the little one. The food was okay, but it wasn't great. What upset me more! The high chairs were leftovers from 5 weeks ago; none of them were clean. The children's area had unsecured sockets. Cables were just lying around. Dirty and broken mats on the floor. But now for the highlight. Luckily, my son is still too small, but children 2-3 years old and older could have easily climbed onto the chair that was ON the climbing frame and, in the worst case, fallen off. Isn't anyone checking things? I've seen enough, we won't go there anymore.

On Saturday afternoon, the chef enthusiastically prepared chicken breast with fries for us. It's not cheap here, but we thought the price was reasonable for the quality. We enjoyed it. I missed the notice about the restroom being free for guests.

I'm not sure what to make of the layout. You drive up and don't know where the restaurant entrance is. You somehow automatically walk in the wrong direction and have to walk back the whole way. The coffee from the vending machine is very good. It costs 3.75 euros (latte and latte). A 0.3 liter water costs 2.75 euros. What always annoys me in Germany is the restroom service. With a woman and a plate, as well as a text (The hygiene products are purchased with the money you pay as a customer, so you are asked to pay 70 cents). WHY can you NEVER assume in Germany that you can use the restroom for free?! I know that in such cases, with cleaning staff and bowls, it's a voluntary matter... BUT how many customers don't know that? As a customer, you are practically forced to pay 70 cents. And when have I ever experienced restrooms that are so clean or modern? That the soap and towels are there for drying? That's not always the case. And then there's usually, or actually ALWAYS, a crowd sitting there with such a look on their faces. I certainly wouldn't give anything to them. The tenant should be ashamed of presenting such a thing to his customers. Take Breuninger Land as an example! Everything is free, modern, and always enough soap and towels.

You can ignore the room design, it's functional and that's actually enough. The food was freshly prepared and we even asked if you wanted the salmon cooked through or translucent. The staff makes a very friendly and experienced impression. The prices may be a little higher, but the important thing is that it tastes good and what is offered is right.

Had lunch today at the Karstadt Karlsruhe restaurant. At first glance everything looked okay. In a fast food restaurant, my expectations aren't too high either. We had a pepper steak (pork) with fries, herb butter and coleslaw. The salad was ok, fries were crispy although very fatty. However, the meat was almost inedible and I had to give half of it back because it had the consistency of sausage. The food is also very expensive for self-service.

Five of us were there for breakfast today. 6 pieces for €6.95 is usury to the power of three. Each slice of sausage, 2 pieces of tomato, 1 portion of jam, portion of butter (10g) is charged 1€ each. 1 slice of salmon 1€ an additional 70 cents because according to the cashier it is so expensive... rolls are ice cold and have the oven only seen from the outside. Plus a glass of 0.2l multivitamin juice for €3.40 and a latte macchiato for €2.55 makes a total of €12.05. For this price...I don't even want to talk about the quality... I get better offers in the surrounding area of Karstadt. Conclusion for us: no more going to Karstadt for breakfast.

What happened to this restaurant? We used to come here often for breakfast. But the selection has decreased significantly and the pricing is ridiculous. 70 cents extra for a slice of salmon at a price of 6.95 euros? Then just leave it.

Of the last 100 restaurants I visited, this was by far the least charming. You might not expect much from a department store restaurant, but how can you go wrong with a cream of mushroom sauce with fries. Should have checked the reviews first. A pity

I have always loved Karstadt/Galeria and enjoy eating here. I especially like the breakfast menu. I think the restaurant is nice and bright, large, lots of seating, and a feel-good atmosphere. I hope the location remains intact. ❤

In the restaurant, cold fried potatoes that are returned by a customer are simply added back to the other potatoes in the display. Then it is stirred and the whole thing is presented again for the next customer. It doesn't work at all!

Achtung Abzocke... Wir wollten eine Kleinigkeit essen... Die Wahl fiel sehr schnell auf 2 Brezeln für je 0,90€. Soweit sogut... Dazu wollten wir aber noch etwas Butter. Diese gab es leider zur Mittagszeit nicht, also ist extra eine freundliche Mitarbeiterin Butter holen gegangen. Wir wollten 3 Stück Butter also 3 x 10g. Der Schock stand dann auf der Rechnung. Wir mussten 1,10€ pro Stück Butter bezahlen, welche unter "diverses" ins Kassensystem eingegeben wurde. Die 30g Butter hat also 3,30€ gekostet. Das wären umgerechnet also 27,50€ für ein herkömmliches Stück Butter von 250g. Dies ist eine absolute Frechheit und grenzt schon sehr stark an Wucher... Das war vorerst unser letzter Besuch.

Notgedrungen im Karstadt gefrühstückt :-). War überraschend gut. Klar das ein Kaffee aus den Vollautomaten sind so gut schmecken kann. Wie gesagt Frühstück TOP und SEHR GUTES PreisLeistungsverhältnis :- ))
