Nordwind Restaurant in Kiel

Unfriendly, we were invited to a party and arrived a little too early. We were harshly rejected! Due to the exposed location, you probably don't have to worry about the guest. Not recommended.

Wir waren für ein paar Getränke dort Das Personal war sehr nett . Der Toilettenbesuch war eine Zumutung!!!! Widerlich dreckig.... Zum Glück haben wir dort nichts gegessen!!!

I can recommend this place for people who are walking along the water line (Kiellinie) in Kiel and need a break. I like going there myself.

The sailor's breakfast of Mett with hot chocolate was very good.

Hours Nice. Remarkably fast service, despite little staff and many guests. ...but a grain roll for a herring roll...sorry but that didn't fit at all. Too bad. Otherwise everything was good.

Very nicely decorated. But very well attended. It's best to reserve in advance for the weekend.

Roundworms after a visit! Didn't come out of the toilet after the visit. The whole family felt bad afterwards. We were a little unsettled by the strange smell at the table, but then we assumed that it was the waiter's rag that wiped the table. The glasses for the drinks still had drops of water in them and had apparently only been quickly washed in the sink. We ate citizens, shrimp, chicken nuggets with fries. The children complained of construction pain that evening. Our daughter has had flushing worms ever since. Had to go to her doctor. Sorry, but this is a matter for the health department!

Unfortunately the food was very bad. Cold veggie burger with frozen filling. And anything but tasty. Cheeseburgers aren't much better either. Hot chocolate made with water instead of milk. Service ok. But not anymore. Locally relatively dirty, during operation. Conclusion: apart from the good location, NOT recommended!

Price performance was really good.

Basically worth a visit. No matter whether cake or lunch. We had lunch and it was tasty and came quickly. The service was great. It was a bit too dirty for me. The tables in the winter garden have a grid on the feet between which the dirt collects. The toilets were freezing cold and only moderately clean. There is some deduction for this.

First visit. Everything's great. We'll be back.

I visited the restaurant some years ago it is still one of the best restaurants in Kiel in the best spot with an incredible sea view!!! If you find yourself here for some reason, definitely visit it!!!

It's way too cold in the restaurant. The rear doors to the terrace are also open in November!! Very nice employees! Sitting near the counter is uneasy.

We reserved a table today at 6:30 p.m. and what can I say, it was simply closed.

If only I had read the posts beforehand! €19.80 for a small frozen fried fish with fried potatoes instead of fries, which then costs €1.50 more. The salad dressing, like the remulade, comes from the industry. Why do you actually go out to eat? Anyone can cook something up at home without any cooking experience.

Simple, friendly service, good view of the sea, but all 3 tarte flambées ordered were cold, not even luke warm.

Nice location on the Kiellinie with a large terrace. Staff friendly, good service. The menu has various options. Currywurst and burgers are good, the fries are very good. There is a small salad with the currywurst. Yummy. However, there is a deduction for the toilets, which should be checked more often.

Hello, When I'm in Kiel and we go out to eat, we usually choose Nordwind Restaurant. Everything is always great.

After a 5-hour journey there was sun, sea and a delicious fish sandwich. Splendid

Beautiful location, on the keel line, with a wind-protected terrace at the back. Cappuccino was good, waffle with hot cherries and vanilla ice cream was very tasty. Service was friendly.

The fish sandwich was good, as was the coffee with milk. Here you can sit in a beach chair and look at the keel line and the harbor. Service is very friendly and you get your order quickly. Prices ok.

Also this year on our annual short vacation in my hometown of Kiel, the P E R F E C T E breakfast 😋 in the Nordwind instead of one in the hotel. With a view of the beautiful Kiel Fjord, of course. And 5 stars aren't even enough for the service.

A great restaurant, I've been there 6 times this year to eat especially from Nms. Service and food very great, highly recommended.

First of all I would like to praise the great service. Very friendly, quick and unobtrusive. The food was excellent, we tried the tarte flambée, currywurst, pollock rolls and chicken breast fillet. Everything tasted very tasty. Drinks such as beer and white wine were served well chilled. The restaurant is located right on the water and you can easily watch both the small and large ships. The best view is from a place on the roof terrace. The only negative point: the clogged men's toilet had not been repaired on the second visit. Otherwise we felt very comfortable.

We really enjoyed the afternoon. The food was very good. Price-performance ratio was 👍 good.

It was really disappointing, the fried fish was frozen, the salad side dish was very clear. The waitress seems to be still learning, although she was nice she miscalculated the bill. It had to be paid later, even though it was already overpriced. Embarrassing for this "restaurant". Then I'd rather have currywurst fries 🍟 as frozen goods at overpriced prices. I ate better fried fish in Holtenau, including homemade tartar sauce and a good side salad. Then I know that everything is really freshly prepared. At fair prices❗

I just ate the two driest fish sandwiches of my life. Sorry, dear operator, but with the extremely little sauce on the matjes and fish cake rolls, you deserve this rating. There was so little sauce that the cheap roll soaked it up completely. I'm 41 and have never eaten such dry fish sandwiches in my life, not even when there was no sauce on them. What I'm talking about is the stinginess of the sauce, you're saving at the wrong end. The stinginess is the reason for this rating, not because the rolls almost got stuck in my throat when I swallowed them.

Friendly service, although the waiting time was long, unfortunately the cherries with the waffle were out, maybe a note about the toilet, the loud noise when the door closes is quite unpleasant, our bad luck that we were sitting close to each other, otherwise a good location and well attended ,that speaks for itself. Food (fish, steak, pasta, etc.) was all great and freshly prepared. Staff attentive and friendly. Have been there several times and there really is something for young and old. We can recommend it with a very clear conscience!

Great atmosphere, but unfortunately the roof terrace was not accessible (probably due to a lack of staff) despite the wonderful summer weather. The service seemed unmotivated and the food (poultry burger + fries for €18.90 or pasta funghi for €17.80) was unfortunately overpriced... but tasty. It's not worth it for a second visit👎!

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, schade nur, dass die tolle Dachterrasse überhaupt nicht zugänglich war (Personalmangel??)! Die Preise recht hoch (z. B. Pasta Funghi für 17,80€, ein Glas Wein knapp 7€), das Essen an sich lecker. Die Bedienung schien unmotiviert, der Zustand der Toiletten unterirdisch!! Ein zweiter Besuch lohnt sich hier eher nicht.

Currysoße o.k., Garnelenspieß grenzwertig glasig, Gemüse (Paprika, Möhre, Zuccini) o.k. Insgesamt total überteuert und wirklich kein Genuß. Insgesamt "schmuddeliger" Eindruck, 1 Damentoilette verstopft, 1 schmutzig. Unwilliger und lustloser Service. NIEMALS wieder

We came here for Kiel Week to escape the crowds and enjoy the view. That's why we took a seat on the upper floor. Since we only ordered drinks, I can't rate the food. My Nordwind lemonade pomegranate only tasted like lemon and was quite sour, just like the raspberry version. The Aperol was delicious! We only saw the service staff at the table twice, when we ordered and when we called their attention because we wanted to pay. The view was great, you could watch everything going on wonderfully and always have a view of the water. The toilets were clean, despite the fact that visitors to the Kieler Woche were also allowed to use the toilets (for a certain fee).

Great location right on the Reventlou Bridge. Great breakfast. Really good scrambled eggs. Nice service. Small location, but when the weather is good there is plenty of space outside and upstairs with even more views of the Kiel Fjord. The first hot drink included at breakfast. A bit drafty on the feet in the winter garden at the window during the cold season. Unfortunately, the toilets are also public on the first floor. Half star deduction. Prices, even during Kiel Week, are not overpriced, even at the kiwo beer stand it is sometimes more expensive.

good Morning We were here for dinner with 4 people in May 2024. We cannot understand the positive reviews at all and suspect that they are fake statements. The food was oversalted, our special request regarding the food was not taken into account - on the contrary, we were laughed at and given a rather cheeky comment and the schnitzel was served out of the deep fryer like in a chip shop. The staff was ignorant and very unprofessional and we should have gone to the toilets before ordering the food, then we would have lost our appetite anyway. An imposition! We will not do any positive advertising for the Nordwind Restaurant in Kiel!

Small, fine bar or restaurant. We only had a small afternoon snack. Ice cream cafe, cafe crema and ice cream very tasty. The cakes look good. 👌

Great service, great ambience, catastrophic boss The two of us were in Kiel for one night and were looking for something to eat/drink. The fish platter we ordered was delicious and freshly prepared, the drinks were cool and served quickly. Our highlight, however, was the courteous and honest friendliness of all the waitresses. Unfortunately, shortly before closing time, the apparent owner came and loudly attacked his own staff in the presence of the customers --> NO GO! The owner's outburst of anger due to his unsympathetic and proletarian appearance was apparently due to the incorrect handling of the ordering device. We felt very sorry for the employees who really gave us a lovely evening.

The food was good, fish and meat were cooked to perfection. There was nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the overall impression is negatively influenced by three points. There is no allergen list in the restaurant. No statement can be made about additives, which is a no-go in today's times when intolerances are commonplace. The waitress didn't know the difference between a whole fish and a fish fillet...also very weak. Recently the toilets were a real disgrace: dirty, the wastebasket overflowed, the towel dispenser was empty...we hope that the kitchen is better maintained.

The location in Kiel is simply unbeatable. In addition to the great service, the food also impresses with its excellent taste. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and makes every visit a special experience. I would love to come back and can recommend it to everyone.

As the saying goes, one star is one too many. Waited ages for service. The service was very rude. Oat milk costs 80 cents extra. Prices overpriced for the ambience. When we asked for the bill we were told to let our colleague know. The colleague was probably busy with something else and it took ages. Service ZERO points.

We spontaneously returned to Nordwind after a leisurely walk along the fjord. The menu consists of small dishes such as burgers, salads, etc. The location with the view of the fjord is of course unbeatable and you pay for that. However, I think the price level is quite “stiff”. With three people we were 80 € poorer, a drink each and a small meal, if that's okay for you it's over. As I said, the location is unbeatable.

The food and price were ok, but you could see that my food (baked fish) was already waiting for me, or rather it was part of the system catering.

You can eat very well here. Wishes are fulfilled, including children's plates for adults. The staff are always friendly, helpful and nice. Great view. The toilets are very old.

Nice breakfast place. We were there on Sunday. We were impressed by the young crew, who managed the store well even though it was full. Also very friendly. Our dog was given water first without being asked. The breakfast was very tasty. When we are in Kiel we will come back. Full points!

We wanted to have a relaxed drink with a few work colleagues after work, but unfortunately we were forgotten after waiting 20 minutes and asking several times. After 30 minutes we were informed that there was no longer any service outside and that we should sit inside. When we asked if there was still a table available inside, we didn't get an answer after another 10 minutes and left. It's a shame because I've actually heard a lot of good things about the store.

Frühstücken. Man sucht sich das passende aus! Bedienung höflich.Mit ein bisschen mehr Aufmerksamkeit könnte dort mehr Umsatz getätigt werden. Leider sehr frisch und kühl im Bereich des Sitzen. Die Speisen auf dem Teller waren zur Zufriedenheit. Ein nettes Frühstück

Schönes Lokal in einer tollen Lage. Die Lage ist sicherlich im Frühling/ Sommer noch besser. Blick aufs Wasser 🤗 Trotz sehr kaltem Wetter war gut was los. Wir sind nicht ortsansässig und durch Zufall auf dieses Lokal gestoßen. Der Wunsch unseres Sohnes wurde umgesetzt. Die Heiße Schokolade war sehr lecker. Mein Lebensgefährte war zufrieden mit seinem Matjes Brötchen. Parkplatz ist direkt hinter dem Lokal.

Das lebt natürlich von der Lage. Und die ist bezaubernd.
