Cotidiano Kiellinie - Frühstück, Restaurant & Bar Kiel in Kiel

We reserved a table at 2 p.m. with 4 adults and two children aged 3 and 5. It was my birthday 🎁. It was decorated very stylishly. We had a great meal and were served very attentively. A thank you to the management and the entire team. We sat a little apart and didn't disturb any of the other guests. Thank you for this lovely afternoon

A good selection of food and drinks. Prices are okay. Unfortunately the service is bad. The waiter takes the order and the food arrives relatively quickly. After that you are forgotten and by the time you get the waiter's attention you don't want to stay any longer. It's best to order and pay straight away... As another review wrote, unfortunately nothing has changed in the toilet because of the smell and cleanliness. It's a shame because it's a well-located restaurant on the Kiellinie.

I ordered a Caesar salad on New Year's Eve. This consisted of leaf lettuce, stuffy tomatoes (probably from a can, as they were very watery and had little taste), Caesar dressing (the salad was swimming in it) and grated cheese (much too fine, probably not real Grana Padano). Unfortunately the worst Caesar salad I have ever eaten, it is better from a delivery service. Service was friendly, but overall totally unambitious. We were there for two hours and there was still a wooden stick left there from the people who had eaten before. It wasn't cleared away for over two hours, and the table wasn't wiped when we arrived (there were still glass edges on the table, so it wasn't wiped beforehand). The food my companions served was ok, but just not good enough for the price. I'm very disappointed, the location is better. I think the ambience is good, but more could be possible. Unfortunately I cannot recommend a visit.

When I visited, the waitress (a young woman) was in a good mood, absolutely motivated, and she left a great, lasting impression. The food (Finn bread with tomato, avocado and fried egg) was very tasty. The fresh peppermint tea was also good. Great and positive experience - until I had to use the washroom and toilets. 🤢 It already smelled like a toilet in the hallway, both doors (men's and women's toilets) were open, probably to spread the smell around. It was so incredibly disgusting. Washroom and toilets so unkempt and dirty. I tried to breathe into my scarf and as shallowly as possible. I was about to run out of bread. Sorry, but that really doesn't work. This urgently needs to be remedied.

Essen in ordnung, wenn man 30 Minuten fürs bestellen und 45 für die Lieferung des Essens Zeit hat. Vegan ist wenn das nichtvegane weggelassen wird. Schade

We were here on Boxing Day and overall we were a bit disappointed. The service was relatively attentive, but the restaurant simply accommodated many more people than the capacity of the kitchen and service would have allowed for. This made it very noisy, we waited a long time and the food only came after an hour - mind you it was only 2 chickpea masalas with rice. The portion was rather small for the price and was tasty but not particularly complex. The homemade yoghurt dip, which was supposed to have been included, was apparently out and was simply not served. We only found out about this when we asked. The location and the equipment etc are great, but unfortunately we left unsatisfied and would have preferred to do something else.

If you only go every few months, the menu feels like it's constantly changing. No reliability to look forward to. Now (especially interesting for vegetarians) only 3-4 bowls, no more pasta, standard burgers with no choice of bread (!) and there was no burger sauce either! How can something like this happen? And the Smashburger is not a Smashburger, but a normal standard burger... Not my place anymore! It has deteriorated a lot😱… and for a white wine 0.3 liters. 11 € is also awesome..., otherwise very expensive, I was still hungry afterwards

Good food, great ambience and above all very friendly and good service!

We celebrated our Christmas party with around 50 people in the Cotidiano. From the first conversation to the evening itself, it was a completely successful celebration. Totally uncomplicated arrangement in advance; our wishes were implemented 1:1; very cozy and decorated for Christmas; great service; very tasty Christmas buffet! We can more than recommend it!

Vorab: Diese Bewertung bezieht sich ausdrücklich nicht auf den Restaurantbesuch (Essen, Ambiente, etc.) an sich. Zu diesem Restaurantbesuch ist es leider nicht gekommen. Da jedoch auch der Service zu dem Gesamterlebnis beiträgt, möchte ich unsere Erfahrungen kurz schildern: Am 28.11.2024 hatten wir online einen Tisch für 2 Personen zu um 17:45 Uhr am 07.12.2024 (Hochzeitstag) reserviert. Die Reservierung wurde bestätigt. Am 06.12.2024 erhielten wir um 23:13 Uhr eine unpersönliche E-Mail, dass das Cotidiano unsere Stornierung zur Kenntnis genommen hat. Daraufhin schrieb ich eine E-Mail, dass es sich um ein Missverständnis handeln muss, da ich nicht storniert hatte und bat um Bestätigung unserer Reservierung. Am 07.12.2024 rief ich dann morgens im Cortidiano an und wurde darüber in Kenntnis gesetzt, dass ab 17:00 Uhr geschlossene Gesellschaft ist und ob ich denn nicht schon um 15:45 Uhr kommen könnte… Die Betriebsleiterin entschuldigte sich dann zwar per E-Mail, da wohl ein Systemfehler vorgelegen habe. Dafür habe ich grundsätzlich Verständnis. Jedoch habe ich keinerlei Verständnis dafür, dass (i) wir erst 8 Tage nach der Reservierung über die Stornierung in Kenntnis gesetzt wurden, (ii) die Stornierung dann auch erst um 23:13 Uhr am Vorabend des Restaurantbesuchs erfolgte und (iii) dies per unpersönlicher E-Mail passierte (die auch noch fälschlicherweise aufführt, dass WIR storniert haben). Das ist einfach schlechtes Management. Nun können wir nur hoffen, kurzfristig woanders unterzukommen.

First of all: This review expressly does not refer to the restaurant visit (food, ambience, etc.) itself. Unfortunately, this visit to the restaurant did not happen. However, since the service also contributes to the overall experience, I would like to briefly describe our experiences: On November 28th, 2024 we reserved a table for 2 people online at 5:45 p.m. on December 7th, 2024 (wedding day). The reservation has been confirmed. On December 6th, 2024 at 11:13 p.m. we received an impersonal email that the Cotidiano had noted our cancellation. I then wrote an email saying that there must be a misunderstanding since I hadn't canceled and asked to confirm our reservation. On December 7th, 2024, I called the Cortidiano in the morning and was informed that society was closed from 5:00 p.m. and whether I could come at 3:45 p.m.... The operations manager then apologized by email (in response to my email) because there was probably a system error. I fundamentally understand that. However, I have no understanding at all that (i) we were only informed about the cancellation 8 days after the reservation, (ii) the cancellation only took place at 11:13 p.m. on the evening before the restaurant visit and (iii) this was done by impersonal email (which also incorrectly states that WE canceled). This is just bad management. Now we can only hope to find somewhere else to stay in the short term.

Price performance is not right in my opinion. The portions were far too small.

Ate a very, very tasty Alpine burger. Highly recommended. For dessert we had Belgian waffles with cream. Absolutely delicious. The waitress had great recommendations and was extremely friendly. Will definitely come back soon.

Good food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Also plenty for vegetarians. The service was very pleasant.

I am always very satisfied - whether at breakfast for two, at a Christmas party with around 20 colleagues or at a networking event with 25 women. The food is delicious, the view is priceless, and any special requests are no problem at all. Particularly noteworthy is the attentive, always in a good mood and friendly service!

A wonderful evening at Cotidiano. In the evening the four of us got a great table at Cotidiano with a view of the fjord. The food was phenomenally delicious, the dessert was a dream and the service was very, very attentive. Our daughters were warmly welcomed by the staff and given various attentions to keep them busy and to eat and drink. This is not a given. Thank you very much for that. We'd love to come back.

With two large groups it was so loud that only the immediate neighbors could be heard. The service was really great, the food was delicious.

Overall, unfortunately very disappointing. The pasta was very bland and didn't appeal to anyone at the table, the fries were cold and soggy. The burger was not a smash burger. Only the tarte flambée was good. Unfortunately, the service didn't care at all, so when asked for the bill, three tables raised their hands at once to finally get the waiter's attention. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Unfortunately the food didn't arrive at the same time and the drinks arrived late, otherwise the food was delicious but the lotus cream wasn't enough for the waffle.

Hallo,es ist ein super tolles 1 A gelegenes Lokal direkt am Wasser.Wir haben sogar zwei Kreuzfahrt Schiffe auslaufen sehen.Die Bedienung war super freundlich und aufmerksam.Es dauerte keine zwei Minuten da kam die Bedienung schon mit einem Trink Napf für unsere beiden Hunde.Das essen kam schnell, heiß und super lecker.Ein tolles Lokal,in toller Atmosphäre.Wir kommen gerne wieder.👍👍👍

We had made a reservation, were on time and showed the reservation confirmation - but we were reprimanded in a very unfriendly manner: That wasn't true, they didn't have a reservation, the table was taken. When asked why the reservation confirmation was 'not correct', the answer was sloppy and said that we must have done something wrong. Well... We finally found a table, but we weren't happy anymore.

Points are deducted for the toilets. Didn't expect the old Louf toilets. The rooms urgently need to be renovated. Be careful when rinsing. It peaks high and wide. There were no paper towels either. The food, staff and view of the fjord are great. Value for money is also good.

Very nice atmosphere on the Kiellinie. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good selection on the menu. The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. Only the request for an entertainment receipt came to nothing, I waited 15 minutes for the receipt and then had to leave without it. Apparently it was forgotten.

Fantastic coffee and very friendly staff!

Staff, as is now common in the catering industry, are completely unfamiliar with the industry and inexperienced. If you're lucky someone will come to the table, or you can just go to the counter. Waffle was well done or simply deep brown and dry. It seemed like we had run out of powdered sugar or wanted to watch our line. In the end, you paid a lot of money with EC and dutifully pressed the 10% tip button on the device because you didn't want to be seen as stuffy...

I ate a burger and drank a draft beer. I sat outside in the October sun. The waiter was attentive, friendly and accommodating. Everything was right for me. Based on my taste, I would like more salt on the patty, but that's not really crucial. And the fries were strong!

Naja...deutlich kleinere Portion bei gleichem.Preis (Rührei) und labbriges Baguette (nicht mal aufgebacken) statt Schwarzbrot. Unaufmerksam er, lustloser Service, der Bestellung vergisst oder nicht mal guckt, ob jemand ich bemerkbar macht. Da nützt auch die zugegeben tolle Lage nichts. Das war definitiv mein letzter Besuch da. Sehr enttäuscht.

Clearly scores points with its location right on the keel line, especially in summer, large panoramic windows. The menu is quite extensive, not a typical breakfast with sandwiches etc. Compared to six months ago, now a much smaller portion of scrambled eggs with 3 slices of not-crusty baguette instead of good brown bread, for the same money. Ambiance typical of system catering, in my opinion there is room for improvement, a bit like a better train station hall. Service very inattentive, forgets order (asked twice), doesn't look whether guests raise their finger and make themselves noticed. Conclusion: visit and breakfast disappointing. Next visit to Kiel somewhere else.

We really liked the Cotidiano. The atmosphere there is cozy and chic at the same time. The food was absolutely delicious and filling. What I highly recommend are the burgers and brownies for dessert. We'll definitely be back!

Actually only lives from the location. Service was virtually non-existent, even though there wasn't much going on. The drinks only came after 30 minutes, the first meal came after 45 minutes, then the rest 10 minutes later. The fries were tasty, the burger was so-so. The couscous salad was unspectacular. You could expect more for the prices.

The right place for every weather 👍🏼 Panorama of the Kiel promenade "Kiellinie" and the harbor, passing and turning maneuvers of the large ferries of the Color Line (Oslo <> Kiel) and Stena Line (Gothenburg <> Kiel), and in the summer months also of numerous cruise ships 🤓🤓🤓 In sight is the Reventlou Bridge as a pier for the public transport boat connections to Laboe, in the Schwentine estuary to the Helmholtz Center GeoMar and to the main station in Kiel city center. Imaginative organic food, even for larger breakfast groups. Nice terrace, loungers in good weather.

Went here for breakfast, which was very tasty by the way. The staff was super friendly, sweet and nice even though they were short staffed that day... but that's not the rule. We'd love to come back again. Lg Were here for the third time in September...And I have to say that everything stayed the same. Dear nice friendly staff. Breakfast great as always. I would say see you next time... 😊😊😊

Staff was nice, but didn't manage to serve us. However, there was already time for casual gossip among each other. We therefore cannot judge food and drink.

We had reserved a table for 12 people to celebrate my birthday with brunch. The table was prepared and we received a friendly welcome. 12 people ordering 12 different dishes is certainly a challenge. Nevertheless, we all got our orders at the same time and were able to eat at the same time. We were served well and friendly at all times, service is very important here! I can fully recommend the Cotidiano because the quality of the food was also excellent!

The best thing is definitely the location, the staff were really friendly and the food is varied. There is also a good selection for vegetarians

We had breakfast there during the week. The offering is sufficient, the food is okay and quite tasty. However, you pay for the location, the prices are borderline. Service seems friendly but busy without a personal touch. Conclusion: there are alternatives.

We were here for the first time. But we had to wait a long time for service and food. The food (tarte flambée, farmer bowl) wasn't really good for the high price, more like cafeteria quality. We won't go here again.

We'll be back and regret that we don't have the same restaurant.

The service staff was very accommodating and really nice when we were there for breakfast yesterday. My husband and I both took the Avocado de Luxe again because we had already been there a good 1.5 years ago and found it to be very good: it tasted quite neutral and has shrunk by half the size compared to last year: 16.90 euros for a small slice of bread is crazy, especially if you weren't really full 🙄

My friend and I were in the great location at lunchtime. We were immediately warmly welcomed by the nice waitress. We had a free choice of seats and sat at the window seat. The order we placed was served quickly. The food was a real treat 🥰🤤 we ordered the Oriental Bowl and avocado bread. For dessert there was the waitress' recommendation - Lotus Cheescake 🤌🏽 highly recommended. We were really very impressed by the shop, the service and the delicious food ☺️ it wasn't our last visit. Absolute recommendation 🤌🏽🩷 thank you very much!

Actually the location is great. The food is different, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. We had to wait a long time before we could place our order. The service was very friendly, but unfortunately not that attentive. It's not our restaurant.

Very tasty food and reasonably priced too. The dishes are not classic dishes. I had the marinated yogurt chicken and it was delicious. The rice was perfectly prepared and so was the meat in the delicious sauce. I was very satisfied and would like to come back to try other dishes. Clear recommendation!

First experience there: ordered a latte macchiato, got hot milk. The coffee was forgotten... Second experience: 0.2 l of cola costs €4.20. Location or not. That's just cheeky. A few steps further at JHKP you can get a 0.5 cola for €4.90. Waited a long time until the waitress brought the card. Waited a long time until payment could be made. Nice location on the keel line, but next time we'll still go to one of the "neighbors" there.

Früher bin ich hier gern zum frühstücken gegangen. Leider wurde das Angebot deutlich reduziert, so dass ich trotz des schönes Ausblickes nun eher woanders einkehre. Diesmal zum Mittagessen gekommen. Die Ansprache durch den Kellner war grenzwertig, eher übergriffig. Ich gebe sonst immer Trinkgeld, aber diesmal hat das keiner an unserem Tisch gemacht. Alle waren durch den Kellner vor den Kopf gestossen. Am eindringlichsten blieb allerdings der negative Eindruck des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisses. Ich hatte eine Bowl mit Reis und Kichererbsen. Nicht schlecht, aber Euro 14,90. Dazu extra Hähnchen Euro +4,90 (es war nur ein Mini-Stück), d.h. Insgesamt Euro 19,80 für etwas das ich sowohl von der Menge als auch der Qualität in der Uni-Mensa für Euro 5 bekomme. Fazit: Das Cotidiano sieht mich so schnell nicht wieder (wenn überhaupt)

Very nicely located, directly on the Kiel Fjord. The food is very attractively prepared. The staff is always friendly, always has a smile. However, dishes with parmesan are listed as vegetarian on the menu. Unfortunately that is not correct. Parmesan contains rennet, which comes from the calf's stomach. And unfortunately that only works if the calf dies for it.

We were there recently with a larger group and apart from the really nice location right on the fjord, the restaurant is actually not recommended. The waiter who served us often brought incorrect orders (e.g. cow's milk instead of oat milk) and then had a hard time recognizing and correcting the error. Overall, the food was relatively bland and unspectacular and the portions were rather small and the price was quite high. Furthermore, it is obviously sacrilegious to order tap water in the restaurant. After I explicitly stated twice that I would like a glass of tap water to quench my thirst (in addition to another drink and a main course), I was rudely replied that I had to order still water (for just under €7 a bottle). I don't want carbon dioxide. I think it should be normalized to offer tap water to guests in a café or restaurant - this is also what the EU Drinking Water Directive suggests. Bottled water is also a much less ecological option (packaging, transport, etc.), which I actually don't want to support. Cotodiano can be a pleasant option to have a drink in a nice atmosphere, but I wouldn't go there again for food.

The taste of the food is okay (no more, no less) but, in relation to the portion, it is absolutely overpriced. 20€ for a really tiny portion of noodles/pasta which could pass for a starter elsewhere and leaves the guests hungry.

Karte und Angebot abwechslungsreich (wie in einer vorherigen Bewertung: nicht 0815), man kann sich das Frühstück selbst flexibel zusammenstellen. Essen sehr lecker und frisch, auch optisch schön! Bedienung war nett und freundlich. Blick auf die Förde super. Für uns war alles perfekt.

The staff seemed overwhelmed. We had to wait 45 minutes for our tea, one of which had to be exchanged because it didn't match the order. We were really looking forward to the avocado bowl because it was super tasty and cleverly seasoned two years ago. This time it tasted of nothing. The quinoa was replaced with cheap water rice, the rest was bland, the appearance was good and fresh, but disappointment came at the first bite The service staff tried to minimize the damage with a 15% discount, but we are sure: that was the last time we ate here. What a shame given the beautiful location!

Last weekend we celebrated the baptism of our little daughter in the Cotidiano on the Kiellinie. We were about 40 people. We were all able to sit very comfortably in a separate area for us. The tables had been decorated especially for us, so that it was festive for all the guests. All the preparatory discussions worked very well, so that we were able to put together a great buffet, which consisted of warm and cold dishes. The service was good, all guests and the hosts were satisfied. The invoicing was very fair, so that price and performance were definitely in balance. We would definitely celebrate our celebration here again and can also recommend the location and the team to other guests.

Went to Cotidiano for breakfast this Saturday. The service from the two young men who worked that day was first class - attentive, patient, very friendly and created a pleasant atmosphere (I worked in the restaurant for a long time myself and the service was really outstanding). The location is of course also great. The food and drinks still have a lot of room for improvement. It was prepared ok, but wasn't done well (fried egg was wobbly, tomato salsa was way too sour and didn't go well with the rest, etc.), portions weren't appropriate for the price either. I would go to Cotidiano again because of the great service and the beautiful location. When it comes to food and drinks, I would like the quality to match the price or vice versa. Otherwise, in my opinion, there are much better alternatives (Brunswik, resonance, etc.)

We are really excited! On Friday evening we were able to celebrate extensively with you. With around 60 people we had a great time well into the night with super nice service, great drinks and a really tasty burger and bowl buffet. The latter in particular really impressed everyone! The location is super nice and whether inside or in a small separate outdoor area it was just great! Thanks especially to Ute and “Lisa”, you rock the place, my respect! Keep it up, we look forward to seeing you again soon, even if first for a coffee (how brilliant is your selection?!) or a great bowl in the evening :-)

Disastrous service...we had to wait 40 minutes for a piece of cake and a cup of coffee, unbelievable, we'll never go there again.

Everything was carried out on our wedding day to our complete satisfaction. Every single request was taken into account. With Ute you are really in the best hands, together with her team she designed and implemented everything wonderfully. From the ambience to the food, everything was wonderful, we are always thrilled with this top service in every respect. :) Thank you again for everything, of course we'll be happy to come back. 🫶🏻

No lunch, barely found anything on the normal menu, then ordered men's toast (3 slices of toast, salad and turkey) for €16.90. You don't need it!

We only had a bottle of water and an ice cream. Nevertheless, we were served just as politely and attentively as usual when we are there to eat. Keep it up, you're great!

The store is really great in all respects!! The location is nice by the water, you can sit inside in a cozy atmosphere, our service person was very nice. The food is truly a 12/10!!! There were four of us there and everyone was thrilled. The white wine we ordered (1st on the menu) was also outstanding! We'll definitely be back 🥰

The Farmer Bowl tasted very good. Nice staff and nice location. We just wanted to have a nice breakfast, but despite the good taste, I think the prices are very overpriced!!

The staff is very friendly and attentive. For a filled pretzel croissant €14.90 (which was tasteless) I think it's a bit excessive. Very loud at peak times.

Service is completely overwhelmed. Guests are ignored. Even the waving wasn't seen. Until after 15 minutes someone came to take the order. We took the card out of the internet so we wouldn't have to wait any longer when the card finally arrived. However, the operator was half absent. She hadn't even noticed which of us hadn't placed an order yet. Food came without cutlery and before drinks after half an hour. Chai latte is super spicy and therefore not enjoyable. Golden milk tastes good. Couscous salad was also delicious. However, salmon was fried to death. 5€ extra for the small chicken breast fillet is already exorbitant… So there is still room for improvement.

Unfortunately drinks stop due to too few staff behind the counter. Very inconvenient in hot weather. Furthermore, consideration should be given to increasing the number of staff, as the staff cannot keep up with a large number of staff. Our service outside was still very pleasant and friendly.

Nice atmosphere but poor and unfriendly service. You had to get your own cards and ashtrays and take care of the order yourself. Only the drinks took too long.

Two bowls were missing herder's cheese, the pasta was missing additional strips of beef and the water was still, instead of the carbonated one ordered. We would have liked more variety in the menu, there were almost only vegetarian dishes. We missed a selection of meat and fish. We found it uncomfortable that the chairs were put on the tables well before 9 p.m. and then left.

Beautiful view of the Reventlou jetty including the water. Service was super nice and quick. Food is averagely good, unfortunately in my opinion the quality of the cuisine is not always consistent. For breakfast you can go well, for coffee in the afternoon it's pretty average, a bit worse. I would like the freshness of the side dishes to be kept better in mind (the fruit side dish (strawberry) with the waffle I ordered today was brown and soggy). It can happen, but it's not nice either. Coffee (cappuccino and moccacino) was okay, but for coffee junkies there are much better places in Kiel in the same price segment.

I ate an avocado bowl. It was very very tasteless. It's never worth that money. Käsekuchen was nice. Thre view is beautiful.

The staff is totally understaffed, so the waiting time is very long when ordering. Price-performance ratio completely exaggerated!!

Ruffs Burger belongs to Cotidiano. Unfortunately, the burger was drowned in ketchup, the fries were salty and not quite cooked through, and the staff was grumpy. Unfortunately not recommended today…

When the weather is nice, it's a dream on Kiel's inner fjord. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nothing wrong with the food. In my opinion, however, proud prices...

We are always very impressed by the good food and the super nice service.

I can't rate the food because we only ordered drinks. Unfortunately we were ignored by the service staff, so an employee served us after work. Only after we had our first drinks at the table did they notice us. The drinks were great and the atmosphere invited you to linger. The terrace outside is surrounded by a windbreak, so you can sit outside when the weather is good. Since the location is right on the water, there is often a mild breeze blowing. Our hot drinks were prepared with plant-based milk.

Beautiful view, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, staff was super nice, we'd love to come back ☺️

Everyone enjoyed the breakfast (4 different varieties), the service was nice and polite, and the terrace was great with its fjord location. Only the price-performance ratio is simply very high (but this is understandable with regional and organic products). Points are deducted for the “water features” in the men’s toilet, which hasn’t been repaired for months 🫣.
