Nikolaus-Grill Stoppenberg in Essen

Bester Grieche weit und breit! Und das schon seit Jahrzehnten.

Ein klassischer griechischer Imbiss in bester Tradition. Die Karte ist umfangreich, die Preise gut und die Portion äußerst umfangreich. Ich war mit meiner Bestellung (Hähnchenbrust vom Grill mit Salat und Reis) sehr zufrieden. Das Personal ist freundlich und die Lokalität sauber und einladend. Ich komme gerne wieder 👍

Gyros war lecker, Pommes knusprig. Gyrosteller ging flott. Salat war etwas laff, es fehlte definitiv etwas an Säure. An sich eine gute Wahl, diese Frittenbude. Sollte ich noch einmal in der Nähe sein, kannst du davon ausgehen, dass ich dort wieder einkehren werde.

Ich war am 08.06.26 dort, ich hatte vorher sicherheitshalber angerufen, da die meisten Griechen montags geschlossen haben. Der Imbiss hat ausrechend Sitzplätze im Innenraum, die ansprechend sind. Die Auswahl ist wie in einem griechischen Imbiss gut, ich entschied mich für den Taxiteller, der 10,50€ kostet, wozu dann noch 1,50€ kommen wenn man einen Schlag Tsatziki haben möchte, also kann man sagen dass der Taxiteller 12 € kostet plus Mayo. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Auslagen und der Gyrosspieß sahen auch sehr lecker aus. Auf Nachfrage bestellte ich dann auch Zwiebeln die wahlweise im Preis enthalten sind. Der Taxiteller sah wirklich top aus und schmeckte auch so. Eine gute Portion…👍 Die Zwiebeln waren kleingeschnitten und eingelegt, alles wirklich mega lecker. So kann man wirklich nur sagen danke an das Team und Daumen hoch und weiter so, kann man wirklich weiter empfehlen….

Das Giros war gut. Die Pommes waren gut. Die Zwiebeln leider nicht eingelegt einfach nur gewürfelt. Das Gyros war eine ordentliche Portion. Der Gurkensalat war vom Dressing pappig und geschmacklos nix für uns. Die Zubereitung ging ruckzuck Pommes Currywurst ist super! Sonntags ist geschlossen.

Auf doof mal was bestellt, wir wurden nicht im geringen enttäuscht! Wat soll ich sagen… Spitze! Im Gegensatz zu anderen Imbissen (zum Beispiel einem gewissen in der Gegend) wird hier Qualität, Leistung und Quantität wirklich groß geschrieben. Da sifft nix aus der Tüte, da bekommst keine windige Umverpackung für das Essen. Wenn das alle so machen würden, würde ich es nicht mal erwähnen müssen… Portion Super, Preis absolut angemessen, geschmacklich nichts auszusetzen. Ach und je nachdem wie viel los ist, wird die Bestellung über die Lieferdienste ausgesetzt. Auch eine schöne Sache, das aufkommen zu packe. 11/10 lohnt absolut! Wir kommen wieder!

Wir sind unangekündigt mit 20 Leuten einfach vorbeikommen und haben fast alle nen Taxiteller bestellt. Hätte gedacht wir warten bestimmt ne Stunde. Aber innerhalb von 10-15 Minuten war das Essen schon da. Und das frisch und gut. Außerdem haben die Kollegen von alleine die Tische umgestellt, damit wir alle zusammen sitzen konnten. Die Bedienungen waren auch alle sehr nett. Ich würde immer wiederkommen.

Bei Nikolaus Grill gab’s heute nen Taxiteller und der hat komplett abgeliefert 🤝 Fleisch richtig saftig, Pommes stabil knusprig und das Zaziki auch brutal gut. Wir kamen mit 20 Leute und das Essen war übelst schnell da! Mega!

Heute einen Taxiteller bestellt. Leider fehlte der Tzatziki komplett und das Fleisch lag komplett in der Currysoße - nicht Sinn der Sache 😉. Wurst schmeckte nach altem Fett und hätte knuspriger sein können. Die Pommes waren aber echt gut. Die Portion Gurkensalat war zwar lecker, aber für stolze 4,70€ einfach viel zu klein.

Gottlose Portionen. Sehr lecker und man wird Satt. Preisleistung ist Top und die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich.

Extra mit paar Kollegen aus Bayern angereist. Wirklich sehr stabiler Taxiteller! Geschmacklich ein Meisterwerk, würde ich in der nähe wohnen wäre das bestimmt ein gängiger Ort für mich. 11/10.

Taxiteller war crazy, sehr sehr nice und richtig gute Portion für den Preis (auch wenn man für Mayo und Tzatziki 2€ Aufpreis zahlen muss)!! Alles in allem eine klare Weiterempfehlung👍🏻

+ essen war ganz gut + Mitarbeiter freundlich - Parkplatzmöglichkeiten Katastrophe - Portionen gar nicht so groß wie beworben - drine kein Abzug, Klamotten reichen sofort nach Fett Fazit:wir sind extra 40 km für den Taxiteller gefahren , weil es so groß in der Zeitung stand. Wenn man vor Ort ist kann man dort gut hingehen , aber extra dahin wurde ich nicht noch Mal so weit fahren.

Extra aus Bayern hier her angereist. Der Taxiteller war ein reiner Gaumenschmaus 12/10. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr sehr freundlich und der Service ist 1 a. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Immer wieder lecker dort. Egal ob Grillteller oder doch nur ne Currywurst Pommes Mayo. Ganz selten der fall, dass das Gyros (für meinen Geschmack) zu fettig ist. Aber fett muss halt auch dran sein, weil es sonst zu trocken wird. Bis demnächst! 🤤

Best chip shop in the world... And as for the other reviews, yes, I've been eating at Nikolaus Grill for a good 30 years, and honestly, not much has changed. And if anything, it's not for the worse.

We were very impressed. The price-performance ratio was unbeatable. The portion was almost impossible to finish. The staff was very friendly. We felt very comfortable.

Delicious, honest schnitzel (no processed meat and nice and large) served by friendly staff in an authentic Greek atmosphere. The Greek dishes are also delicious, of course, but I wouldn't have expected such good schnitzel in a Greek snack bar.

I've been eating there for a good 35 years, even though I haven't lived in Stoppenberg for ages! For me, there's no better snack bar!

I'd love to give a bad review because the owner's response is just hilarious—I was rolling on the floor laughing. But seriously! This has been my absolute favorite chip shop since I was a kid! Whether it's currywurst, burgers, or gyros: everything is incredibly delicious! And my family has been buying takeout there for three decades, bringing our own Tupperware to help protect the environment. While some other places used to refuse, it was never a problem here. You guys are awesome!!! Keep it up!

My number 1 for almost 30 years

The spit roast was brought out of the cellar, probably frozen, hard as a stick, and unseasoned. The zatzi was probably just standing next to the garlic.

We don't know of a better Greek restaurant here in Essen North-East (and beyond) than the Nicolaus-Grill - fair prices, always fresh and consistently good quality, plentiful, courteous and fast - JUST too long (well-deserved) HOLIDAY^^ ;D - anything else would just be envy.

We've been coming here for about 30 years now... First to my parents' place on the other side. Now to my son and his wife's... The food is always delicious, and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with a glass of wine and an ouzo. We like to sit by the window at the back. We'll remain loyal customers... Kristina and Eberhard

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday and picked up the food. It was absolutely delicious, the meat was top quality, the staff was friendly, and everyone was happy. I definitely recommend it.

The restaurant is causing massive problems in the neighborhood. Customers park right in front of my apartment, blocking the few available parking spaces for residents. It's outrageous how little consideration is given. As long as nothing changes, I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

I've been eating here for a few years now, the food is okay but nothing more. You can feel a big difference between before corona and after corona. The service is good, the employees are very nice and the food is brought to the table. If you take the food to go, the food looks different. I live 5-10 minutes away from the chip shop and then the fries are flabby. But on to the good points: There is a lot of mayo. Generally large portions. Conclusion: I would recommend you to eat in the store yourself.

Since there are almost no snack bars in our area, we got something from the Nikolaus Grill. Taxi plate, gyros pita, fries, currywurst. Gyros: I only had fatty meat in my mouth, it wasn't good... curry sausage, it was coarse and not tasty either, not good either. Fries and the sauce were delicious. Let's not eat again. It's a matter of taste.

I've been to the Nikolaus Grill in Essen Stoppenberg several times and I've always enjoyed it very much. The staff is always friendly and you can't complain about the service. Your food is brought to your table and there is a huge variety of drinks. My recommendation is the taxi plate: large portion of fries with gyros and currywurst + mayo, ketchup, tzatziki etc. The price is very fair for the amount of food by today's standards. Everything is great.

We picked up several dishes from Nikolaus Grill today, including two meatloaf dishes that were unfortunately inedible. (Burned and no longer fresh) That was nothing. Cannot recommend more.

Everything fine. We have already ordered grill plates several times for family celebrations. The food was always rich and very tasty. The grill plates are also highly recommended. 😋 The staff is very friendly. I always enjoy coming here. Since prices have often been criticized here for being too high, I'm happy to pay a little more for very good quality. The only drawback: Parking there is sometimes difficult, but the owner can't do anything about that...

Kann man nichts mit falsch machen! Traum. Lecker lecker. Jede Menge Auswahl, sehr sehr freundliche Leute in einer super schönen Gegend. Danach kann man direkt die Schlucht lang spazieren um überschüssige Kohlehydrate direkt wieder zu verbrennen

Good snack. Were there for the first time. The schnitzel prices are a bit too high for me. Unfortunately, the gyros are soaked in paprika and therefore far too dry. Portions were very good and the staff was very friendly.

Der Nikolausgrill ist eine sehr gute und eine der letzten noch vorhandenen „Pommes Bude“ mit einem hervorragenden Klassiker „Curry Wurst mit Pommes Frittes“. Die Speisekarte ist angereichert um typische griechische Spezialitäten (Gyros, Taxis-Teller etc.) und Salate. Sehr sauber und aufgeräumt im griechischen Stil eingerichtet

I'm a regular at this chip shop. Very tasty gyros and special requests are implemented without moping. Fries are relatively thin, which isn't exactly my cup of tea, but of course it's purely a matter of taste. A family business that has existed for around 40 years. I've been eating here since I was a child and am now 43 years old and will continue to do so for many more years to come. The food is always fresh and the portions are generous. I can highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been here yet.

Went there for the first time yesterday evening as a couple. We ordered taxi plates twice. The food was very tasty and the price was completely reasonable for the portion. It was clean and tidy and the food was served quickly. We'll definitely be back :-)
