Good food, a lot of choice for everyone

The Shanghai offers a high quality China Atomsphere and has both regular and round turntables for larger groups. The buffet is very well maintained and the selection is extremely large, even for a Chinese restaurant. The service is exemplary fast. The quality is excellent for a buffet restaurant. Several visits since opening in 2018 confirm the consistently high quality.

really great restaurant! Really conveniently located for those arriving by car (as there are free parking spaces on the street + some directly in front of the restaurant entrance) as well as by subway and S-Bahn. Super friendly reception staff, if they are sitting at the reception, they stand up when a guest comes in or when saying goodbye. Had a reservation for a birthday and the waiter brought a sweet fruity birthday surprise with a sparkler. In general, everyone is very attentive and always at your service if you need something, just a look is enough. Great food selection, lots of space and beautifully decorated. Better than any buffet Asian I know, I have recommended the restaurant countless times and am now a regular there myself. Dinner buffet for €31 is more expensive than anywhere else but really worth every cent!!

I love this restaurant every time. Super tasty and definitely worth it. Some criticize the fact that you pay €31 per person, but for that you can really eat everything and really enough. I think it's perfect and definitely the best all you can eat far and wide.

Insufficient offer and unfriendly service Unfortunately, the all-you-can-eat offer did not meet our expectations. For 30 euros we were hoping for a larger and more varied selection of dishes. The selection was very limited and hardly appealing. The behavior of the staff was particularly disappointing. The employee was unfriendly and rude. I was asked three times if the amount on the bill was correct because I chose not to tip. When I confirmed this, the bill was literally thrown at me and the waitress ran off in a huff. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

Small buffet compared to prices

The food is almost always refilled and tastes very tasty. You can get non-alcoholic drinks for free at the lunch table. It is very nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly.

Cheap food is served here at exorbitant prices, especially on weekends. The desserts were all prepackaged from the cheapest category. I had the strong impression that, with the exception of teppaniaki and rice, the staff wouldn't even eat the food on offer themselves. Especially not for this price. I find it even worse that people afterwards think that this is original Chinese food. Spoiler alert: it's not! A reasonable price is a maximum of 20 euros. Or 30-35 euros with a drinks flat rate. Everything else is a rip-off unless the quality is improved. There is 1 star for the friendly service and another for the interior design.

I can highly recommend the lunch buffet! There is so much choice. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. The restaurant is huge. There could potentially be a lot of guests there. If that bothers you, I recommend not going here. The price has increased to €21 for the lunch buffet including soft drinks/coffee (!), but is still very good considering the quality and selection of desserts. We were there with three young people around 13 years old before 1 p.m.

Great choice of dishes. Good to be able to have food cooked on the spot for you. But €4.80 for a glass of sparkling water (not even from a bottle, not even anything special except for the half slice of lemon ) is exaggerating. This is water ! The price of the buffet is not outrageous, but I was taken aback by the cost of a single glass of water. This is why nobody should order anything without asking for the price and deciding whether they think it is fair, or whether they think the service provider is taking advantage of his/her position.

I went there for the first time with my girlfriend, I also ate sushi in your restaurant for the first time in my life and I loved everything there, everything was so delicious. The staff are smiling and very friendly which is very important. I'm so happy and I'd love to come back more often.

Find the New Shanghai Restaurant an all you can in with the best and freshest offering from a buffet restaurant to date. The service was also very attentive and the plates were always cleared promptly. Fish and meat for tepenyaki was always attractively presented on crushed ice. The holiday price of €31 per person is high but very fair for the quality and offer. We'll meet Again.

Update: unfortunately it is still the case that someone just comes in during the meal and takes the plates. And one more thing that we unfortunately had to experience. Didn't have any cash with us today and paid by card. The waitress was always very friendly before paying, but since we unfortunately couldn't leave a tip this time (which we always do) she was really pissed off and clearly showed that she wasn't happy. It just seems like she was only nice for tips. It's a shame and unprofessional. Therefore, two stars deducted. Food is not an issue: very tasty and we are very satisfied. The only negative point is if you were constantly disturbed by the waitresses while you were eating. I can understand that they have to do their job. But please, don't be so conspicuous 🙏 unfortunately it's annoying when you're having a conversation and suddenly someone comes in to get plates and glasses without asking. Otherwise, everything is great. Everyone is friendly, but communication is lacking.

The Shanghai Restaurant in Stuttgart offers a large number of dishes at the “All you can Eat Buffet”. We were there on May 1st on a public holiday. The price for the buffet only costs €31 per person. Drinks cost extra. The food was ok, lots of choice and there was something for everyone. Taste was okay. The ambience was nice. There were many places. But for families with wheelchairs or strollers it can easily get tight. The service staff were very friendly and quick. Conclusion: If you would like to eat an all you can eat buffet, you are welcome to come here. But you shouldn't expect a gourmet taste when eating. The only point of criticism for the hefty price of €31, one would have expected that drinks would be included.

Yes, what you can expect from such a large restaurant...the lunch buffet is delicious. Eat and drink as much as you want. Some people forget or have no manners and shovel the food in. I like it because there is a lot without breading. The sushi is delicious and the service is attentive. In the evening at the buffet the grill is open and the company is more polite. The food is even better there and there is a really great selection. Underground car park with elevator directly below. Everything is barrier-free. It is not recommended for vegans and people with peanut allergies.

A very extensive all you can eat menu with flat rate drinks and coffee. The duck meat was tough but maybe they were just having a bad day. The service is very good, the plates are always changed and the dirty ones are cleared away. The location is good, parking spaces available.

Amazing service - staff was very friendly and attentive. Plus points for the teppanyaki grill where you could bring up your plate for the chefs to prepare for you!

Drinks very expensive. The food is completely ok. Very nice service.

I love the fried noodles, unfortunately the pieces of meat that come with them are roughly chopped, which is not my thing. I mean, it used to be a little nicer, you didn't even need a knife to eat.

Also had a soft drink fountain corner as well as a corner for hot beverages. True all you can eat buffet in Germany March 2024 not so sure now but €22 and €28 are way to expensive

You have to like buffet restaurants! If you compare this fairly within the category, it is in the good average range. In itself, it is mass production at high prices. For 31 euros I can eat much more stylishly in a good Asian à la carte restaurant if you know the right shops. The quality of the buffet food itself was ok, although no special highlights are to be expected. With the sushi, too many maki with avocado and cucumbers, almost no tuna. Lots of cheap imitation shrimp made from surimi. You have to wait a long time for the more appealing freshly prepared dishes from the wok counter. The restaurant is (as expected) loud and uncomfortable. You feel a bit like you're in the dining room of a fully booked package holiday hotel. To be fair, you have to praise the service. Despite the large number of guests, the service is quick and friendly and the empty plates are quickly cleared away.

Partly Meat still frozen or slimy, sushi selection and quality poor [I even had to spit one out, it tasted really rotten]. Wanted to try it out since it doesn't seem to have been open that long. You're used to high drink prices at restaurants like this. 7.5€ for a bottle of water is not unusual.

The food is below average for a buffet. However, the price of 30 euros per person is totally excessive. I can't understand the good reviews. If you want to stuff yourself without having any culinary demands, this is the place for you. Everyone else please give this restaurant a wide berth.

Today we were guests in this restaurant again after a long time and were horrified to discover how negative this visit, which we look after very much, was. The quality is worse than a snack bar, the prices are outrageous and the drinks are a complete rip-off. I don't understand how a buffet that is always the same is advertised at €21 during the week, €24 on Saturdays and €31 on Sundays. I would understand if the menu changed or there was an extra for the different prices. Our extra was a ginger bag tea for an unbeatable €5.80 extra charge. After complaining, we were offered a relaxing tea that was supposed to be fresh for €6.40, which only consisted of warm water with leftover ginger and a small slice of lemon. The further complaints were laughed at and we should complain to the boss, which is what we did. This boss used an energetic tone to point out a full restaurant that justifies its prices and doesn't care about the opinions of its guests. I recommend staying away from this restaurant which definitely has bought reviews.
