We live in 2024, but probably not everywhere. We reserved a table via Maps on October 15th, 2024 on our journey from the Ruhr area and wanted to end our car trip to Todtnauberg with dinner here at the Grüner Baum, but we received no answer and when we arrived there was a “closed day today” sign and a dark dining room in front of your nose. Bad luck, we thought, and ate burgers in Todtnau. Today we plan our main meal after our valley tour around Todtnau back in the Grüner Baum and are looking forward to a beer and delicious food, only to be told by the (irony-free) nice receptionist at the hotel that today is a rest day again. Strange and annoying as it ruined our day tour.

We were very happy with our meal in the restaurant. Very good food and very friendly service. We spontaneously ate in the restaurant on our way from Schauinsland and were thrilled. The whole house makes a really good impression.

Great room, booked a family suite and it is large and beautifully furnished. Lots of storage space. The only negative point is the long wait for warm water to brush your teeth.

We only ate...but that was fabulous...very friendly service...the gentleman too? at the reception, he also served, great!!!! There is a booklet on the table to look at with questions, I can't praise it enough, you should think about the content, great. I thank you again...

A great place to go on vacation and indulge in culinary delights, the staff is super friendly, flexible and helpful... the only point of criticism is the location on a busy street but the hotel can't do anything about that because there are already plenty of them long and is the oldest inn in town

There is so much I could say, but this place is ideal. The rooms were great. The largest and nicest rooms we stayed in during our time in Germany. Also it's located in the most beautiful place on earth. I almost don't want to rate it well because I don't want other people realizing how awesome it is here. It's not in the town of Todtnau, but just up the hill close to a massive suspension walking bridge that goes above a waterfall, but this hotel is secluded enough to feel private. The service was amazing. The food at the restaurant is fantastic (as is their breakfast). Pretty idyllic. There is hiking all around and an alpine coaster and MTB downhill track to check out in town. Loved it here!

Unfortunately the hotel is on a thoroughfare. Windows are very well sealed, only when you open the windows you hear the noise. Very nice, courteous service, very fine cuisine, cozy restaurants. Recommended.

The food is really good, but it takes a really long time to arrive. I waited about 45 minutes until my food was there, for people who have a room in the hotel it is perfect for people who are just passing through and the food definitely takes too long. The person is very friendly and accommodating, just right for this location.

The hotel was a good choice and can only be recommended for a holiday with a dog. We felt very comfortable.

We stayed in this hotel as a birthday present for my grandma on her 90th birthday. She wanted a weekend in the Black Forest and we did everything right with this hotel. A very nice, clean and very dog-friendly hotel, the staff were really friendly and you felt very comfortable. Oh and the food was very good for vegetarians too. Gladly again And many thanks to the staff :)

Super friendly staff! The breakfast was extensive and delicious. During the evening meal you always had a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian, it was all very tasty. Rooms were very clean and very cozy! Location is great, there are many fun things to do nearby. Highly recommended!

I booked this hotel because of the positive reviews, unfortunately we are very disappointed. In our email I asked if it was possible to arrive earlier and there was no answer. When we finally arrived in the room after a 10 hour drive, the sofa bed for the children had not been put over. After I pointed out to the receptionist that we needed sheets and bed linen, after 1 hour and asking twice, someone came and "covered" the bed. I then had to go downstairs again and get a sheet, which was also too small. An apology only came after the third time we asked about the bed linen. Unfortunately, sparkling water with wine was not known despite an explanation when ordering.

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. A beautiful location. Unfortunately it was foggy but the area is very wooded. We would love to come back again.

Standard rooms face the street and do not have a minibar. But that's what it says in the description. Fridge in the reception area if you get thirsty at night. We had half board and were very satisfied. Breakfast buffet and 3-course menu in the evening. For the tourist tax you get a card for buses and trains.

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, clean! Breakfast with top quality and regional products. Breakfast service Attentive! We didn't use the wellness area. So I can't say anything about it! The kitchen can stay ;) the chef knows his craft! Unfortunately, it is not possible to darken the room properly. The curtains let in light and we didn't sleep well because of that. The service in the evening... well... could be improved! Were placed immediately. So far, we sat there for about a quarter of an hour. until we were noticed and could order something. Then the water came, you noticed that the glasses were missing! You would then have to wait another 5 minutes for it. You didn't know simple questions about the wine list... what a shame! There are great things to see in the area, such as the Barefoot Walk, suspension bridge or the waterfall!

Very tasty dinner after a long hike, unfortunately the room was a bit overheated, strange bedside lamps, very good, rich breakfast, unfortunately a very long walk from the table to the buffet...:)

An oasis of hospitality and relaxation! We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Grüner Baum during our stay in Todtnau and our experience was absolutely first class. The hotel staff deserve special recognition for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed and well looked after. The location of the hotel is simply fantastic. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it offers a quiet and peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. We enjoyed walking through the idyllic countryside in the morning and enjoying the fresh air. The food in the hotel restaurant is good. Each meal was prepared with care and featured a delicious selection of specialties. Overall, I can fully recommend the hotel. It is the perfect place for travelers looking for a friendly atmosphere, tranquil surroundings and world-class dining experiences.

The staff and the building are inadequate / the whirlpool is put off / does anyone here even know what they are doing?

Ein toller Ort, um Urlaub zu machen und sich kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen, das Personal ist super freundlich, flexibel und hilfsbereit...einziger Kritikpunkt ist die Lage an einer viel befahrenen Straße aber dafür kann das Hotel nichts, denn es gibt es schon sehr lange und ist das älteste Gasthaus im Ort

Erwartungen übertroffen! Für den Preis den wir bezahlt haben, wären die Erwartungen nicht sehr hoch. Das kleine Hotel im Schwarzwald hat vor allem mit der Gastronomie überzeugt. Das Essen war zu 99% frisch, also kein Convience, auf den Punkt gegart uns extrem lecker. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und Hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer hatten alles, was man braucht, leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Dennoch alles sehr sauber. Vom Wellnessbereich hatte ich keine großen Erwartungen, dachte da eher an eine Sauna in einer dunklen Ecke. Auch hier würden meine Erwartungen übertroffen.

Schönes Zimmer, gutes reichhaltiges abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. Der Schrank in unserem Zimmer war kaum zu benutzen, da unangenehmer muffiger Geruch, der dann auch die Bademäntel betroffen hat. Letztere haben wir an der Rezeption abgegeben, aber trotz bitte keine neuen erhalten. Leider hat das Restaurant Di und Mi Ruhetag, deshalb muss man mit dem Shuttle oder eigenen Auto zum Partnerhotel fahren um dort zu essen. Im Muggenbrunn gibt es keine anderes Restaurant. Auch für Check-in muss man erst zum Partnerhotel tingeln um dann ins Hotel und sein Zimmer zu kommen. Wellness im Waldhotel ist sehr schön und gut aufgestellt. Konnte auch noch am Abreisetag problemlos genutzt werden. Hier für lohnt es sich. Kleine Skigebiete und Langlaufstrecken sind in der direkten Umgebung reichlich vorhanden. Mangels Schnee aber größtenteils Mitte Januar 24 nicht geöffnet. Würde nicht mehr dort buchen, sondern lieber ein paar Euro mehr bezahlen und gleich im Waldhotel wohnen.

Wir haben 5 wunderschöne Tage im Naturparkhotel Grüner Baum verbracht und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer und das ganze Haus sind sehr gepflegt und sauber, die Atmosphäre gemütlich und fast schon familiär. Hier ist der Service und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter wirklich ganz toll, besser geht es nicht. Großes Lob an die Küche, das Essen war fantastisch. Wunderbares Frühstücksbüffet. Unsere beiden Hunde waren willkommen und man konnte direkt aus dem Hotel raus zum Gassigehen auf ruhigen Wegen. Das Hotel liegt für Ausflüge in die schöne Umgebung perfekt, zwar direkt an der Straße, aber durch die super isolierten Fenster war vom Strassenlärm im Hotel nichts zu hören. Das Schwimmbad im Partnerhotel Waldhotel am Notschrei darf genutzt werden und ist schnell erreichbar. Leider hatten wir keinen Schnee, sonst hätten wir prima skifahren können, denn der Skilift liegt direkt hinter dem Hotel. Auf jeden Fall war alles sehr schön, wir können dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und interessiert daran das es den Gästen gut geht was einem ein wirklich schönes Gefühl gab. Es gab überhaupt nichts auszusetzen. Das es vegane Optionen gab war mein persönliches Highlight.

Sehr schönes gemütliches Hotel in dem auch Hunde willkommen sind. Der Service ist 1A. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Winzermenü. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt 😊

Mooie locatie. Personeel deed er alles aan om het ons naar de zin te maken. Super. Er is geen lift in het hotel.

The rooms are comfortable. My room was with the bathroom + shower in a package that I don't really prefer.
