Gaststätte Feldberg in Todtnau

Not my kind of place! The ambiance takes you back decades, and the food didn't impress me either; the Cordon Bleu was simply not tasty.

After two weeks traveling through the Black Forest, the food at this place left a lot to be desired. They served us a schnitzel without sauce and it was quite poor quality. On top of that, they didn't include the potatoes on all the plates we ordered, and they told us we were supposed to share them when the table next to us did... In short, the place is a bit poor. It's not at all the 4 and a bit average it's supposed to be.

Nice little restaurant not far from the Feldberg mountain. The food is okay, but nothing special. The server was friendly and the atmosphere was inviting.

There is a cigarette scent, while we do not smoke ourselves. The crane of the men's toilet shows a leak. The quality of the food was acceptable and the preparation time was relatively short. It was not possible to pin, which is remarkable since others could do this. Because of this we have paid in cash. The Ober initially seemed to do not want to give the change, presumably in the assumption that it was tipping. If the hygiene and the overall presentation of the food had been optimal, we had considered no tip.

Upon entering, there was a distinct smell of cigarettes. We were escorted to a table by an extremely polite hostess. The portions were modest. I ordered a steak, or at least that was the intention. My companion opted for a schnitzel, also of a modest size. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the entire meal. My partner then visited the restroom, which was in poor condition; the faucet was leaking and there was an unpleasant odor. When paying, the waiter remarked that it wasn't expensive. I handed over €60, after which the waiter returned with the change, apparently assuming it was the tip. I corrected this and requested my remaining money.

Good and friendly service. Overall, the price/performance ratio was good. The portions were generous, and the pork steak was quite large and very tasty.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner yesterday during our short vacation. The service was excellent; we were served quickly and received a very friendly welcome. The food was also delicious. We'd love to come back on our next vacation in the Black Forest!

The ambiance was rather rustic. Very friendly host. The food (Cordon Bleu) was the best I've had in a restaurant on this vacation. I highly recommend this restaurant.

🙈 I haven't experienced a restaurant like this in ages. It's not clean, and some of the food is inedible. The waitress goes to the bathroom and doesn't wash her hands afterward. I can't understand how a restaurant like this can even survive. I don't recommend it!!! 👎

Motorcyclists are noticeably unwelcome. They left before ordering, so I can't comment on the food.

We had to wait forever, the soup was completely forgotten, and the salad was terrible. All the servers were confused and wandered around looking confused. The whole restaurant laughed at the chaotic situation. I wouldn't eat here again, and I'm already sad about the one occasion. Any chef could make the food just fine; basically, everything on the menu comes from the deep fryer anyway.

Food was burnt, unseasoned and completely soft! Cordon Bleu ordered the meat 2 cm thick in the middle, a slice of ham and a slice of cheese that didn't taste like anything! The other dishes were like that too!!!

Ordered the menu of the day: soup served after 45 minutes of waiting, main course after 1.5 hours of waiting. The meal ordered by my wife was not served, an order error in the kitchen. My wife and I were satisfied with just one plate. Payment by card impossible, I had to go to the ATM to get cash. I will never go back....

Of all the restaurants here in Todtnau, I enjoyed it best here. The meat was super tender and juicy... very nice service. It looks very rustic and inconspicuous, but is absolutely recommended.

The Feldberg restaurant offers a rustic but clean atmosphere. The furnishings are traditional, which goes well with the charm of the house. Unfortunately, no card payment is accepted, which is a bit inconvenient these days. Overall the food was delicious. The venison goulash impressed us - the meat was nice and tender and the spaetzle was tasty. The senior plate was also convincing. A small point of criticism was the salad, which unfortunately wasn't cleaned completely clean. The service was very friendly and attentive, giving us a pleasant experience.

It was just an ok place for lunch. Fries were undercooked and not seasoned. My husband liked the Venison goulash though and the prices were good. The restaurant decor was outdated/run down and needed a good cleaning.

Our visit on September 1st, 2024 remains a negative memory. I haven't eaten so badly in years. Schnitzel catastrophic

Anyone who can cook throws their hands over their head. Based on my visit, there is absolutely no recommendation to be made here.

Food was good. Prices were reasonable. Atmosphere like an 80-year-old restaurant. We found it cozy.

You simply shouldn't enter if you're greeted by a musty smell at the front door... But it was Monday lunchtime and many other houses were closed. We found ourselves in an ice-cold, very old room. (I put my winter jacket back on...) The service was prompt. The salad, which was served quite quickly, was bland and bland, almost just vinegar. The cordon bleu and the pork steak turned out to be enormous mountains of meat (do the Swiss need that, whose meat prices are much higher?) The fries and croquettes were mass-produced, and the brown, far too thick sauce that was served with them was tasteless. The visit there remains unique, even though there are many positive reviews.

I've never eaten as bad as I did there. Salad tasteless and cordon bleu not cooked through. We gave it back and a dry piece of meat came back. Not recommendable

Excellent service and good cuisine

We were there for the first time this week and to be honest it was rather unplanned. We were all the more surprised by the really tasty and well-prepared food. A cordon bleu that was fried to perfection and a venison goulash that was so tender that the meat literally fell apart. The sauce and the homemade spaetzle were also great. We are happy to have ended up there by chance and would love to come back.

Super leckeres Essen. Alles frisch gekocht.

Leider hat es uns garnicht gefallen. Der Salat zum Essen war einfalls-und geschmacklos. Ein Hauch von Essig war das Dressing. Putenfleisch war gut gegrillt. Der Schaschlik hatte eine säuerliche Soße. Das Fleisch war ok. Zu fast allen Gerichten wird noch eine braune Soße angereicht (Tüte Maggi???) Die Pommes zu hart und klein. Man wird satt, aber ohne Genuss. Die Preise sind relativ hoch für das Essen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, aber das Gasthaus müsste renoviert werden. Sehr in die Jahre gekommen.

Der Fisch war mega. Rumpsteak war fast englisch obwohl medium bestellt war dafür aber ca.100g mehr))). Service war nett. Preislich in Ordnung. Rustikal eingerichtet aber sauber.

Reibekuchen mit frischen(!) Pfifferlingen bestellt. 2/3 der Pfifferlinge wässrig-weich u. 3 Pilze knackig. Reibekuchen gut u. Soße auch. Sehr schade!

Wir sind in unserem Urlaub 3x hier essen gewesen. Essen war immer perfekt zubereitet und sehr lecker. Bedienung sehr freundlich und humorvoll. Beim nächsten Mal kommen wir sicher gerne wieder.

Gutes Essen, aber alte Einrichtung und der Service könnte herzlicher sein.

Sehr höflich ausgedrückt ist das Ambiente eher schmuddelig als sauber und gemütlich. Das Tagesessen, gemischter Braten mit Blumenkohl und Kartoffelbrei für 18,90€ pro Person war absolut überteuert und wirklich überhaupt nicht lecker. Das Fleisch, je 1 Scheibe Rinder- und Schweinebraten in einer puddingartigen, sehr dunklen, säuerlich schmeckenden Soße, war zwar zart, aber das Schweinefleisch schmeckte, als hätte es einen Stich und wäre leicht verdorben. Der Blumenkohl war fast verkocht, ziemlich wässrig und schmeckte irgendwie nach Pappe und alt. Der Kartoffelbrei war bröckelig und für meinen Geschmack etwas versalzen. Also alles in allem sehr schlechtes Essen und für die miese Qualität absolut überteuert. Nie wieder Gasthof Feldberg!!!

Essen war lecker und reichhaltig. Von dem Service war ich begeistert und danach gab es noch was Süßes für uns. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft

Le rumsteak était bon, par contre les clients près de nous et apparemment habitués car parlaient bien avec le patron mais aussi se moquaient bien de nous pendant tout le repas. C est la première fois de ma vie et la dernière que je vois ça et ça ne se fait pas dans un pays où la discipline est importante. Tous les autres restaurants de Todtnau et notre hôtel de la forêt noire sont top.

Es war super lecker, sehr nett, rustikal, nix besonderes, aber man fühlt sich unheimlich wohl. Sehr liebe und nette Bedienung. Gerne wieder.

Leider war die Bedienung am Anschlag da andere Gaststätten zu hatten. Essen war gut, Preis angemessen. Gerne wieder im Sommer wenn man in Gartenwirtschaft sitzen kann.

Wir waren am 14.10.2022 beim Abendessen im Gasthof Feldberg. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das Essen wurde zügig serviert und war lecker. Bitte macht weiter so.

Top Qualität. Besonders das Hirschgulasch! Jedoch ein stern weniger, da ziemlich wenig Auswahl für Vegetarier da ist und für Veganer gar nix. Das könnte man vielleicht noch ändern ansonsten top!

Essen in Ordnung, nichts besonderes, aber kann man auf jeden Fall machen. Mir hat ein wenig Würze gefehlt.

Super köstliches Essen zu sehr fairem Preis! In der heutigen Zeit habe ich selten so lecker gegessen. Komme gerne wieder und empfehle es wehr weiter! (Wir hatten rinderzunge und Hirschgulasch)

Das Abendessen in der Gaststätte Feldberg war ein durchwachsenes Erlebnis. Die Karte war erwartungsgemäß eher etwas für Liebhaber der gutbürgerlichen Küche, aber insgesamt leider recht einfallslos, sodass wir Schwierigkeiten hatten, uns zu einem Gericht durchzuringen. Für Vegetarier gibt es übrigens anders als in einem anderen Beitrag geschrieben wurde übrigens keine gute Auswahl. Das Essen selbst war reichhaltig und geschmacklich in Ordnung, wenn auch nichts Besonderes. Die Pommes Frites waren ein wenig zu labberig, die Bratensauce zu dickflüssig und die Panade der Schnitzel recht weich. Das Schweinesteak mit Pfeffersauce, die Spätzle und die Beilagensalate gingen aber absolut in Ordnung. Missfallen hat uns aber vor allem das Ambiente: Den Charme des Alten zu erhalten ist eine Sache, aber ob die 70er es wert sind, muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Uns jedenfalls hat weder die seitdem offensichtlich unangetastete Einrichtung des Gastraums, noch der unangenehm säuerliche Geruch beim Hereinkommen gefallen. Wir haben immerhin von einer Verwechslung der Bestellungen in der Küche profitieren können und unser Essen vor allen anderen, vor uns eingetroffen Gästen bekommen. Außerdem war das Personal freundlich. Ich würde sicher nicht noch einmal hier essen gehen, aber wer nach einer langen Wanderung hier landet und kein kulinarisches Erlebnis erwartet, macht auch keinen Fehler.

Wir waren mit drei Kindern dort essen. Das Personal war sehr nett. Allerdings war der „frische Salat“ sehr lieblos auf den Teller gelegt und überhaupt nicht frisch, es gab Kraut, Möhre und ein bisschen Blattsalat. Das war‘s. Die Chicken Nuggets waren innen noch roh. Das Hirschgulasch komplett verknorpelt bzw. nicht lange genug gebraten und das Schweinerückensteak war nur ein dickes Fleischstück mit Fettrand. Die Einrichtung ist sehr alt und nicht sehr sauber. Also der Stern ist nur für die nette Bedienung.

Not a bad location in Todtnau (although not much going in on Todtnau). Looked like a family run business and staff were friendly and polite. Interior was plain and simple, lacked a bit of atmosphere. Food was very good though and well priced. Note that the staff didn't really speak English and only accept cash.

Auf unserer Durchreise hier gegessen. Top Bedienung. Sehr Freundlich. Was ich sehr geschätzt habe, ist die Kindermenükarte! Echt schön gemacht. Gartenwirtschaft gemütlich und das Essen ist mega fein. Wer hier in der Nähe ist muss hier ein stop machen. Parkplätze vorhanden.

Restaurant typique cuisine allemande. Service de bonne qualité, sauce pour les asperges excellente, asperges cuites à point, filet de porc de bonne qualité. A recommander.

Seul restaurant allemand ouvert le lundi, pas vraiment le choix. Service agréable, cadre très authentique, les plats étaient bien service avec une petite salade très bonne mais la viande (gibier) était dure.
