A fantastic bar! We were welcomed with open arms and served very quickly. The beer and spirits menu is great. The food is simple but very nice and affordable. The atmosphere is incredible, worthy of a real Irish pub, and the two musicians playing that evening were very talented and friendly. Thanks again <3

For a restaurant located in Germany, at least on German soil, the staff should speak German. I had a problem ordering, but they didn't help me because no one spoke German. That should change.

It tok ages for the waitress to come to out table. We had to go to the bar 2 times to ask. Then i order my cola it had no carbonic acid. Bad experience!

The place is nicely decorated, and service is quick. However, the music isn't very suitable. However, if you want to party like white girls in the 2010s, this is the place. Otherwise, it's very nice. The service is friendly.

I decided to visit Murphys as there's nothing quite like live music in a pub! Staying true to the Irish spirit I ordered a Guinness and was treat to a phenomenal performance by a talented singer and strings (fiddle / guitar) player. A class act with many crowd pleasers! Simply brilliant.

Irish Shepard pie is really good. Music is cool. Beer is good. Best recommendations.

This place is so far removed from an Irish pub it's hard to believe. Should definitely think about taking the Irish out of the name.

The service staff are rude and not businesslike. You can't get a beer at the bar, only table service. They can't serve outside because it's very busy (according to the waiter), and inside only if you have a chair or stool. But I want to stand at the bar or at the side without a stool. No, you can't get a beer if you don't sit. This could drive a bar into the ground. Keep it up!

A fantastic Irish pub. We had a great time drinking and celebrating there. There was live music, and we danced to it. We were there a few years ago. It was worth going back. Thanks to the whole team for a great evening.

A great Irish bar. Beautiful decor. Good atmosphere, with a singer/musician playing her guitar the night we visited. The reheated frozen food is passable after a few beers, but otherwise, give it a miss! The servers are very responsive, and the atmosphere makes you want to visit Ireland!

Pub with nice atmosphere and a lot of happy people

This place could be so much better given it's location. The nonsense about table service only will drive customers away. As an Irishman, I have never been told that in a pub in Ireland in my life. What's so hard about buying a pint at the bar? The reason it is annoying is because you then have to be spoken down to like a child by rude staff for wanting to buy a drink at the bar and then wait for ages at a table before they come near you.

Rude staff, horrible place. After completing 26.2 mile Berlin marathon we walked to this bar to get food and drinks to celebrate as we are Irish, we got a bottle of beer from the shop 3 doors down(still half full in our hand) and was refused entry, for being drunk .. we had completed a 26 mile marathon 10 minutes prior there was not enough time from completing it to even get drunk.. smirking and laughing at us, would never ever return or recommend. When we said it was racism only because of our culture they were just smirking. AVOID!!!

Nice atmosphere. Lively, but relaxed at the same time. Lovely music and singer. Bit annoying how reluctant they were to serve me after 4 pints (plus food there) in 2h30 though. Service needs improving Plus there was no soap in the lads’ toilet =(

Same play list every night. She can sing but if you like 60 year old songs it's the place to be. Mix it up a bit and play to audience.

A pub that was once an anchor – and now disappoints I struggled for a long time with whether to review this pub. For five years, it was an integral part of my life. I came here almost twice a month. My first visit was in the spring of 2020, in the midst of the turbulent times of lockdowns and the pandemic. Back then, the pub was a safe haven for me, a place that gave me confidence when the world outside stood still and slowly faded away. I remained loyal to it, even when only one beer to go was allowed, and I was there when the doors reopened for regular business. I would often sit here on Saturday lunchtime and not leave the pub until well after 8 p.m. I would order Irish stew, shepherd's pie, or the classic Irish breakfast. Over the years, the food has been reliably good: always warm, served quickly, and aromatically seasoned. In the summer, I was drawn outside, with a view of the canal, the TV tower, and across to Museum Island. The location not far from Friedrichstraße made the walk home easy. And of course, I also came for the beer! Above all, my favorite: Newcastle Brown Ale. A ritual developed: enter, order something to eat, an Irish coffee, an ale, and later, perhaps another hot meal. But despite this regularity, and despite the amount of money I spent there, I was never recognized. The atmosphere wasn't geared toward regulars, but rather tourists. Over the years, the staff changed almost entirely, and with each change, the quality of service declined. Orders took time, even when the pub was almost empty. I overlooked many things because I liked the place: having to explain to the waitress what an Irish coffee was, that the beer glass didn't match the drink, or that instead of my favorite ale, a Murphy's Red was suddenly served, I accepted. The pub inspired me. I often spent hours writing my books here. But on my last visit, that image completely changed. Beer inside was only served in plastic cups, and black garbage bags served as waste receptacles. After an hour, I was signaled that it was time to pay—and leave. The pub was only half full, my table wasn't reserved, and I certainly hadn't given the impression of hanging on to a drink. On average, I spent 45 to 60 euros per visit, often considerably more. How could I explain to this rude waiter that I'd known the pub twice as long as he'd worked there? So I paid and left. For five years, this pub was more to me than just a place to drink and eat. It was my living room, a small oasis where people came together, sang, laughed, and supported one another. That's exactly what pub culture is all about: a lived encounter, not just a service. Unfortunately, the only thing that seems to be looking for here these days is quick profits. But that's how meeting places die—and with them, a piece of pub culture.

We just had a drink, nothing to eat. There was live music playing. We were there from around 10 p.m. until midnight, and it was a fantastic, lively atmosphere with lots of singing and dancing. It was so much fun. And I was pleasantly surprised that I got Guinness 0.0 for the first time there. I have to avoid alcohol for the most part for health reasons. It tastes different, but only minimally. Slightly sweet and malty. Finally! For me, as a Guinness lover, a perfectly acceptable alternative. The service was incredibly friendly; three or four people bustled around in the shop and behind the bar. We definitely have to go back soon!

Me and my mate went there on a pretty packed Tuesday eve, and as we were waiting to be served, the bartender just shook their head and said “no” before we even said anything. We said we just wanted a drink but they said there’s no space… there were 5/6 empty outside tables with no reservation signs or anything on them. Looks like a lovely pub, but that service ruined it sadly.

We had a great Sunday night at this pub. The Irish stew was delicious and the atmosphere was as you’d expect of a good pub. The singer, Ellie (?) made it even better. Great value and friendly staff made for a good time.

Worst Irish bar I’ve ever been to!! We popped in for a beer last night and the girl at the till — who seemed like the manager — was clearly drunk while working. The bar wasn’t even busy, but we still waited over 15 minutes to order because she was more focused on drinking and flirting than actually serving people. When we finally got to order, she snapped at us super aggressively and said it was cash only. Honestly, I really hope the bar takes a look at the kind of staff they’ve got there — it’s a real shame, ‘cause the live music looked like it could’ve been a good time.

A nice drink....when it was finally served....two nice drinks in fact....when they were finally served!! Twice we ordered...twice we're forgotten... nevermind about "where's my guinness"... where's our drink, full stop...like I say ,a nice drink.....once it arrived. Thanks for your prompt reply Jennifer...I wasn't expecting anything to be honest. We were at Murphy's from about 4.15pm till 600pm and sat close to the toilets. It seems like a nice pub with a good atmosphere...the funny thing is that both of the staff members who had forgotten about our orders had looks on their faces of startled realization once they had clicked onto the fact that we were drinking free dispite placing our orders a loooong time ago.

My visit on August 6, 2025, was unfortunately very disappointing. Starting around 8:30 p.m., the Wi-Fi went down, which meant that only cash payments were possible – a real problem for many guests, especially by today's standards. What struck me as particularly negative was the lady at the cash register (a redhead), who was clearly no longer able to work. She appeared heavily intoxicated, had glassy eyes, slurred her speech, and was extremely rude, impatient, and at times aggressive in her interactions with guests. Respectful communication was almost impossible. Her behavior towards her own staff was also inappropriate. It's a shame – with more professional management, the evening could have been much more pleasant.

We've been at this bar all week, and it seemed like a great place. The service was attentive and the beers were delicious. Yesterday, however, was really annoying and embarrassing. We were served by a red-haired Irish woman who was completely drunk. The organization was a disaster, and they only accepted cash because, in her opinion, the system wasn't working. A few days ago, I might have recommended the bar, but after what happened yesterday, I would never recommend a visit again.

Our friend had previously enjoyed the pancakes and beer, so we brought them, but they didn't have any. This time, we decided to try a cocktail, but it was truly awful. We wanted less sugar and more alcohol, so we ordered the Long Island iced tea. The menu listed Long Island iced tea (€15), but it was filled with cola, and it was practically cola, with very little alcohol and way too much sugar. The Lynchburg lemonade (€11) was so overly sweet we couldn't drink it. We ended up with everything. Clearly, our choices were wrong. If you're looking for a beer and a good time, you can have it, but this isn't a cocktail place.

Got turned away because we looked young. Didn't even let our group show ID even though we were all overage. Very rude staff

Well, we didn't get a drink inside. We didn't get a drink outside either. Outside, we were sent away. The woman was extremely rude and couldn't speak German. I wouldn't recommend it. I've seen better Irish pubs where the people are so warm and friendly. I can't recommend it. The best thing to do is just go to Ireland, it's amazing.

I love this place. Good vibes always. I always take my friends visiting from outside of Berlin here. Just one day recently came across very rude staff, she spoke Spanish and was a bit rude to us.

We came for the music and ordered some food and drinks. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Some of the dishes are labeled "homemade," but they tasted completely like convenience foods with just one ingredient added. The drinks (two different draft beers) tasted watery (perhaps they were diluted with water?). That's simply a no-go for almost €7 per drink. They're simply cheating with the food and drinks here, and the main customers are probably tourists who probably won't come back again. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place!

Walked up to the bar to look at the selection of drinks and was told by a young lad with black hair and a moustache to sit down and that it is table service and that there are menus on the table. Waited 15 minutes without being served and then went up to the bar where a woman happily took our order. I wouldn’t mind but it was quiet and the fella behind the bar was doing nothing.

Poor service at the bar Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience here. Even though we were waiting, our waitress went out to smoke. When we finally spoke to her, she responded with a terse "No problem" and then brought us the wrong order. After that, she became very rude to us. There was no apology or even a "please" – instead, she treated us with extreme arrogance. That's a real shame, as the guys at the bar seem very hard-working and nice.

We visited the pub during the day, so we can't comment on the evening entertainment. Otherwise, a thoroughly positive impression. Classics don't need many words: delicious beer, simple and honest food, fast service, a cozy atmosphere. We were particularly surprised by the bright ambiance – the large glass front makes it feel much more light-filled than you'd expect from a typical pub. A few negative points: The Italian glass coasters immediately catch the eye – they don't fit the Irish flair of the pub at all and should be replaced. And plastic dishes? That's completely unacceptable – that really belongs to the past.

We stopped here after a restaurant to have a few pints. There's a good selection of Irish and English beers, such as Newcastle Brown Ale. There was a live musician that evening, and we could also request music. The pub was very busy from that point on. A lovely evening, just as you'd expect in a pub.

We went to Murphy's twice yesterday – once in the afternoon and later in the evening. The service was friendly in the afternoon, and the drinks were generally okay, although one cocktail arrived at room temperature, which wasn't particularly appealing. What immediately struck us: People speak English instead of German – even if you clearly speak German. This may be convenient for tourists, but it feels a bit strange as a local. We returned again in the evening after dinner. Unfortunately, the service was significantly less friendly, and we had the impression that German-speaking guests were less welcome. Some of the waiters weren't even able to communicate in German. The most disappointing thing was the gin and tonic, which cost a whopping €13: It tasted like it had almost no gin in it. For that price, I consider it a rip-off. Overall, a tourist-oriented pub that clearly places little value on quality and fair value. OK for a drink, but anyone expecting good service, decent drinks and a bit of Berlin hospitality will probably be disappointed.

We used to come here often and enjoy it. Over time, the management and staff have changed. Just now, on a Friday evening, the place was packed, and we wanted to quickly order three beers at the bar. In English, of course, we were told that it was table service only. We were told there were no free tables, so we'd order at the bar while standing. The staff member then replied that we needed a table to order... I wonder in which bar or pub you can't get a drink at the "bar" and need a table. Apparently, it's here. It's a real shame, that's it for us. Have fun with the tourists, it's your own fault.

Simply sad. We used to go to our local pub often and simply loved it. Things have changed now. The staff are no longer authentic. The atmosphere isn't the same. Ordering a beer at the bar is no longer possible. There's no real pub feeling. The place is now purely geared towards tourists. What a shame! We used to love coming here!

A classic Irish pub in Mitte, right next to Friedrichstraße train station. Helpful staff and plenty of space. You just have to like the equally classic food.
