MacLaren's Pub in Berlin

This "How I met your mother" themed Cafe/Bar is a must - visit. They have amazingly curated character themed cocktails like : - Robin Sparkles - Robin Sherbatsky Great ambience, good food, great drinks & friendly cast. (i mean- staff) Ted Mosby would drink here too.

An evening here will be great - it's coming soon. Legendary! Believe me, legendary! Big fans of the series How I Met Your Mother will definitely get their money's worth here with the numerous accessories and anecdotes, which are also on the menu as pictures, showcases or little jokes. For everyone else, a visit to MacLaren’s Pub (even though I thought it was called Puzzels) is definitely good and worthwhile. I'll come back and enjoy all the allusions again. Only boogie boarding is not permitted, you have to know that beforehand!

The food was very filling and filled everyone up. As expected, the prices are a little more expensive. People imagined it would be cooler than it actually was.

Great atmosphere, both for fans of the series and for those who haven't seen it!

For fans its amazing, but its a bit outdated / not maintained The food is good, the prices are fair, and the people are nice But it feels old, while it could feel fresh if there was some better light, a bit more polished and clean and some more attention from the waiters (we waited almost 20 min for the check)

Have come here on multiple occasions with friends and we love the place. The staff has always been so kind and helpful, its a fun ‘How I met your mother’ themed bar but not over the top in anyway either. Has some food options until 10pm that are also good and some good snacks aswell. Definitely recommend to come with some friends.

It doesn't look anything like the one in the series and the prices are a bit exaggerated.

Wir waren im Oktober im Maclarens Pub. Als HIMYM Fan dachte ich mir das es ein absolutes muss ist, dort vorbei zu schauen wenn ich schon in Berlin bin. Also kurzerhand einen Tisch reserviert und dann ab zum Abendessen hin. Von außen, kamen mir fast Freudentränen die mir aber schnell vergangen sind als ich vor verschlossener Tür stand, obwohl Menschen drinnen saßen, wollte erstmal noch nichtmal der Kellner uns die Tür öffnen! Nach etwa 5 Minuten mit winken, klopfen und zeigen hat uns dann doch der Kellner dann die Tür geöffnet. Wieso die Tür zu war, ist mir bis heute ein Rätsel. Ich dachte schon, dass es ein HIMYM Rätsel oder so ist. Das Pub ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, wir wurden aber leider auf die schlechtesten Plätze gesetzt trotz Reservierung. Nachdem der Kellner nur gebrochen Deutsch sprechen konnte und uns nicht klar war wie man hier bestellt haben wir die online Variante gewählt, während wieder Deephouse Musik im Hintergrund lief und die Stimmung eines Pubs ruinierte. Nachdem wir dann Kilkenny als Flaschenbier erhalten haben und noch heute auf unsere Gläser dafür warten, ist uns endgültig der Geduldsfaden gerissen. Wir haben nach einem Bier ausgetrunken und die nächst bessere Braurerei (BrewDog) angepeilt die dann den Abend gerettet haben. Als HIMYM Fan war das leider wirklich die Enttäuschung des Tages.

Was there with my friends. Great for fans of the series How I met your mother. Props everywhere. Delicious food and great cocktail. You could buy merch on site.

If you’re a fan of HIMYM, you should absolutely pop in to MacLarens when visiting Berlin. You can treat yourself to a Minnesota Tidal Wave/Robin Scherbatsky whilst enjoying all the popular (and the ones only die hard fans will know) props, slogans and photos. So much fun!

Very nice place for fans of How I met your mother. Drinks were nice and reasonably priced food also didn’t disappoint

Such an awesome HIMYM tribute. Had the Best Burger in New York City (Ted's BBQ Burger). Great atmosphere and the owner and staff are great. Highly recommended.

So actually an extremely cool idea. But wow, the implementation is terrible. The drinks?! When I was 16, I drank better cocktails in Lloret. The food. Well, I think it was from the microwave. And the service?! Seldom seen something so bad...

Great bar, the atmosphere of How i met your mother is very well transcribed. The references to the series are really very appreciable, especially on the drinks menu. Special mention to the very friendly waiter who gives very good advice.

It is a good spot for HIMYM fans with all the references. It worths a beer to visit.

The ambience is indeed cool, but as a connoisseur of the himym series I found it very good. But the rest wasn't good at all. Unfortunately you have to wait a long time for food. The last of us didn't get our burger until the rest of us were almost finished eating; and that despite little activity. We didn't like the vegan burger patty at all and had severe stomach problems afterwards. I found the table reservation confusing. It showed online that nothing was available until 10 p.m., but when we called on the phone they said we could come by at 7 p.m. and it was very empty when we arrived.

A great place for a surprise for a "How I met your mother" fan. They even have Bro Code 😉. Prices ok and very good quality of food and drinks. Delicious drinks 😋.

You can tell that McLaren's was set up with a lot of love and effort, and this is particularly noticeable in the food/drinks menu. Everything in the pub itself is very nice and decorated with lots of memories from the series. However, I sat outside because it was too loud and a little too dark for my girlfriend and I to have a comfortable conversation. The service was very nice and accommodating and always asked nicely if you needed anything. A clear recommendation for every HIMYM fan if you are or live in Berlin.

Great dear employee, the Guinness tastes delicious (fair prices, 0.5L for €5.90), the burger I had was one of the best and I was completely blown away.

I love this pub, you definitely have to go in.

Please update your opening hours! We went there just before 12 am and the waitress told that they are not serving anymore, even on their webpage it says they are open until 2 am on Friday, and there was a person buying drinks at the counter. We went there just because it was an Irish Pub close by, atmosphere seemed great but cant say more since they were ”closed”.

The bar is super nice and idyllic. You can't speak German with the waiters which is a minus point! The drinks and snacks are also relatively expensive, but it's up to you how much you're willing to pay.

This place has the best burger I could find in Berlin.

Felt just awesome seeing all the decorations from the actual show and the whole bar is filled with references, great unique pub with a couple beers on draft although it’s a bit away from other attractions of the city

Came here 2 times, very heartwarming, fun, everything reminds us of our favorite show and its characters. We ordered Barney's burgers, Guinness, nachos with cheese. We liked everything!👍

If you're a "How I met your mothers" fan, you will notice that it's not exactly the same pub, but you'll find the staff super friendly and they have hidden some funny points that will bring a smile on your lips.(Try the toilet when it's playing out the bro code in German:) The size of the frize was not the biggest though. In general, a nice experience to spend some time with friends.

I didn't know this bar existed and I just stumbled in here, suddenly everything was How I Met Your Mother themed. It was fun, there were good drinks and the staff was nice too.. Was a bit stuffy and dark

As a non-fan of HIMYM, I still had a very cool and relaxed evening in the pub. If you're in the corner and feel like having a beer or a cider, then you should stop by.

A great experience! Classic Irish beers in a really cool setting. The service is nice and the food and drink menu is really unusual. The most important things are there, including the blue horn, the naked marshal (even with an autograph) and the bro code is read out in the toilet, but not always followed. Reservations are recommended! Spontaneously things don't look so good. Have you ever had a Smosby? Then let's go!

I loved the vibe at the pub: everything is very meticulously reconstructed from the show, and the atmosphere is amazing. The waitress who attended us was really nice, too. I had an amazing alcohol free drink which was delicious (I don't remember the exact name, but I would assume all of them are great) and I ordered the fries with cheese and jalapeños. I took away one star because they were so unbelievably salty that I almost couldn't eat them, and we had to wait quite a bit for our second round of drinks. BUT I will definitely come back and try to give it a five star review next time! I definitely recommend the place overall, it's worth a visit :)

Difficult to be objective in my review. As an unconditional fan of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, what was my surprise when I came across this replica of the iconic bar from the series! As for the atmosphere, the decor, the cocktails I won't spoil it for you, but it's worth the detour, go for it!

If you go for the TV series HIMYM you will be satisfied, there are many pieces related to the series, the atmosphere is very good, the music and drinks taste good and at a good price

The environment is really nice and festive. On St. Patrick's day they had a music show. I also liked the theme of the bar (based on the show How I met your Mother). I had a Guiness and the price was okay! Nice place to hang out.

I went there without a reservation on a Saturday night, and the staff was kind enough to give me a table quickly despite the rush hour. The food was delicious. And the drinks were really good too. The staff was really polite and attentive to our demands. They made sure that every customer was served properly despite the crowd. I really loved the atmosphere of the place. Would love to visit again.

It's clear where the name comes from; you'll recognize it as soon as you arrive at the restaurant. The menu has many references to the series and includes a generous selection of drinks as well as a small menu. In the bar there are many posters, pictures, exhibitors etc. that capture iconic moments. The staff are very nice and always try hard, but the loud music and little light make it a bit dark and sometimes too loud (even with some free tables) to have a conversation. The prices are usually fair.

We always find this place really cozy. This place became our pub. We recommend it. Also… if you are a fan of “How I met your mother” this is the perfect place for you!

A fantastic atmosphere for every HIMYM fan. Funny Easter eggs in the map and on the walls. You feel like you're in the familiar bar of your sitcom stars. The service understandably seemed a little overwhelmed given the full house. Generally an all-round good shop and the emotionality in connection with the series only warrants 5 stars.

A great concept based on the pub from How I Met Your Mother, really great motivated staff and fresh, quick and tasty drinks, even when there are a lot of guests, always with a friendly smile and empathy from the staff for the guest in front of you. Even when the store is full, the staff can make jokes and understand fun. Really great work keep it up

Very typical and characteristic place in Berlin (Irish pub). Excellent Guinness beer and good hamburger. The two boys are very kind. The wait was a bit long, but since there were only two of us it was perfectly understandable

Got the wrong dishes, burgers way too small and dry, cocktails minimalistic. I don't even want to start with the staff. Was overwhelmed, rude and couldn't even speak German. Just sad. All in all just a cheap tourist copy of a series...

The waitress was very friendly, she was super nice and when the coleslaw was finished, she gave us extra fries with our hamburgers AND three free shots as an “apology”. the atmosphere is incredibile, they got all the details of the show and it was just amazing!

A very nice pub for both fans of the series and regular visitors. Delicious burgers and cocktails. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. We had to wait a little longer for the order, but for obvious reasons - the pub was full :)

Just really good! We were there on Tuesday evening, had reserved a table in advance and just got a small booth. The atmosphere is very nice and authentic, with a lot of insiders from the series, which is of course very cool. I would like to see a bit more of those diner-style signs on the wall, as the walls at the back of the bar are a bit bare compared to the front, but that's just a small suggestion. We also ate something, the prices were ok, 14.90 for a burger with fries and a bit of salad isn't cheap, but it's not very expensive either - it's within reason. The fact that you don't have to pay extra for a vegan patty is definitely a plus! We had the Marshall Chilli Burger with vegan patties and it was really delicious, much better than we expected and one of the tastiest veggie burgers I've eaten so far. The prices for the beer are also absolutely normal, €4.90 for a 0.5l beer is certainly absolutely average for a bar. With the Pitcher it becomes a little cheaper (€4.30 per 0.5l) and gives you even more HIMYM feeling. You can borrow Barney's "Playbook" and "Bro Code" and watch them during your stay at the bar; All you have to do is give your identity as a deposit. That was also very cool. :) There is a small merch display case, with a keychain with the blue French horn and a yellow umbrella, there are yellow umbrellas and much more. We chose Barney's "Awesomeness" poster, it is A3 sized and framed. 15€ for this is absolutely fine! We were very happy, it was very comfortable and we will definitely come back!

In my opinion a tourist trap... Nothing to do with a pub and just a shadow of a HIMYM fan base... Once and never again, there isn't even typical pub music playing and smoking is forbidden (I emphasize ONE PUB again)

The location is well worth the visit. Loved the drinks and beer. The burgers were ok but wouldn't order them the next time. I really enjoyed the time with my friends. HIMYM fans will love it!!

Friendly Staff Nice cocktails :) I booked for a big group of 14 ppl and it was no problem (2 weeks in advance), even added 2 more chairs (I told them 1 week before). Good music playing. Not too loud and you can easily talk to the person next to you :)) The wooo girl cocktail is very tasty

As a How I met your Mother fan, I of course thought it was great. Lots of little anecdotes scattered throughout. From the menu, to the walls and the iconic red armchairs, to the playbook that was read out on the toilet via audio book. The food and drinks were also very good. Robin Scherbartsky is great.

Must Go Place to feel like you are in the HIMYM Universe. Great food and a variety of beer, also in pitcher. You can rent show related games and books. The whole bar is full of decorations and easter eggs. So you might need to go there more than once.

Perfect place for How I Met Your Mother fans. Themed drinks and great snacks.

As an avid how I met your mother fan I was thoroughly excited to attend this bar. The decor is excellent however to call themselves an irish bar because they serve guiness is a stretch. As well as this, I ordered a half pint of their house lager to test it out before I ordered a 1.5 litre jug of it. Once I placed my order I waited and waited, i was then informed, an hour before closing, that my order could not be fulfilled because the bar is closed when we were not informed of this. This was meant to be the highlight of my trip and I was devastated to find out the staff cares more about going home early than customer experience

Lovely pub based on the TV-Show "How I met your mother". Loads of references to the show such as some of the drinks on the menu. Nice choice of drinks, a bit pricy but overall not too bad. Food choice isn't great as it isn't very large.
