Celtic Cottage in Berlin

Der Barkeeper war super, der Laden macht seinem Namen alle Ehre! Und man kann dort auch deutsche Spezialitäten genießen!

Ich kenne das Cottage schon lange und mag die unaufgeregte Bedienung und das qualitativ hochwertige Essen dort sehr. Aber das Beste ist die urige Einrichtung, verwinkelt wie ein echter Pub. Auf dem Weg zur Toilette verlauf ich mich immer, aber es gibt auch immer was zum Lachen und Lesen an der Wand !

Seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder! Einfach 5 Sterne für soviele schöne entspannte Momente!!!

Wir waren zu einem Absacker da und haben nur ein paar Guinness getrunken. Es war gegen Mitternacht, war einiges los. Service hat etwas lang gedauert wegen der vielen Leute. Ist gemütlich, klein und kuschelig eingerichtet und sehr cool dekoriert.

Wenn ich in einen Celtic/Irish Pub gehe, erwarte ich auch Celtic/Irish Music und keinen elektronischen Mist wo kein Mensch ein Instrument spielt. Diese „Musik“, wenn man sie als solche bezeichnen will, verdirbt einen das komplette Pub Erlebnis. Dafür eigentlich 0 Sterne.

Das Bierangebot war wirklich gut. Es gab einige Sorten, die man nicht überall bekommt, und auch die Möglichkeit, bis 23 Uhr draußen zu sitzen, fand ich angenehm. Danach muss man allerdings ins Pub wechseln, was für mich grundsätzlich in Ordnung ist. Leider wurde der insgesamt positive Eindruck durch die Musik im Pub völlig zunichtegemacht. In einem Irish Pub erwarte ich zumindest irische oder passende Pub-Musik. Stattdessen lief Musik, die überhaupt nicht zur Atmosphäre eines Irish Pubs passte. Das hat für mich das gesamte Ambiente zerstört. Schade, denn das Pub hätte eigentlich viel Potenzial. Aufgrund der unpassenden Musik werde ich jedoch nicht noch einmal kommen und beim nächsten Mal lieber einen anderen Pub besuchen. So kann man Gäste leider auch vergraulen.

Habe den doppelten Veggie-Burger verspeist (ein muss) Bei einer kleinen Futterlucke, keine Scharm ihn mit Messer und Gabel zu schneiden. Service sehr höflich und umschauend (räumt nur Dinge ab, die nicht mehr gegessen/ getrunken werden können). Ambiente empfand ich als sehr einladend. Wer Nähe zu anderen nicht mag, könnte hier überfordert sein oder muss hoffen einen Platz draußen auf den Bänken über den kreuzenden Fußweg hoffen Danke für den Abend, auch allein war es angenehm und gesellig ✌🏼❤👍🏼

Lieblingspub mit Lieblingsmenschen, Service immer gut drauf, geht alles immer fix, Events sind gut besucht und machen sehr viel Spaß! ❤️

Eine nette Bar mit großer Bierauswahl. Das Essen ist gut, wenn man realistische Erwartungen an Bar-Essen hat.

Wir waren gegen 23:00 Uhr dort, und die Kellnerin war anfangs sehr ungeduldig und meinte, wir müssten drinnen Platz nehmen, falls kein Platz frei wäre. Wir gingen dann hinein und stellten fest, dass es sich um einen anderen Bereich mit einer anderen Kellnerin handelte, wo wir schließlich einen Platz fanden. Zu unserer Überraschung bediente uns dieselbe Kellnerin. Wir bestellten über den QR-Code auf dem Tisch und ich bezahlte mit Apple Pay (mein Rat: Nutzt diese Option nicht!). Der Kellner behauptete, unsere Zahlung mit Apple Pay sei nicht verarbeitet worden, obwohl sie auf unserem Bankkonto abgebucht worden sei. Schließlich bestand er darauf, uns den Betrag zu erstatten, den wir angeblich zahlen müssten. Jetzt habe ich zwei Abbuchungen in gleicher Höhe auf meinem Konto und muss zehn Tage warten, um sicherzugehen, dass es sich nicht um eine Doppelzahlung handelt. Ich kann dieses Lokal absolut nicht empfehlen, denn ich bin 36 und nach all den Jahren erwarte ich, dass man mich an einem Freitagabend in Lokalen zumindest respektvoll behandelt. Jedenfalls finde ich es viel zu stressig für einen ganz normalen und nichts Besonderen irischen Pub in Berlin, wenn man so viele andere nette Lokale besuchen und Spaß haben kann, ohne den Sarkasmus und die Unhöflichkeit dieses Ortes.

Wir haben nur etwas getrunken, aber es war extrem voll, was für manche etwas unangenehm sein kann. Der Service war aber gut, die Getränke auch.

Netter Pub im Herzen von Steglitz

Nachos Top, Getränke (Guinness und Snake Bite) schnell, Service Top. Ich komme gerne mal wieder vorbei!!!

Immer einen Besuch wert. Das Lokal ist typisch eingerichtet wie man eben von einem Pub erwartet. Zu all meinen Besuchen war das Lokal brechend voll, aber man hat immer irgendwie noch einen Platz bekommen. Die Getränke Auswahl ist immens und man kann diverse tastings bestellen. Diese werden dann mit Infokarten angeboten, damit man nicht nach dem 2 Glas wieder vergisst was man trinkt. Die Speisen sind für ein Pub absolut in Ordnung, aber man sollte hier keine kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten erwarten, das macht man mit den Getränken wieder wett. Der Service ist außerordentlich freundlich und immer bemüht dir deine Bestellung so schnell wie möglich an Tisch zu bringen.

Mein bester Kumpel wurde hier rassistisch von einem anderen gast beleidigt. Nach einem hitzigen wortwechsel ist der Besitzer Guido eingeschritten. Ohne die Situation zu kennen, hat er gesagt dass eine Partei nach hinten geht und die andere nach vorne. Er hat sich die Situation nicht anhören wollen. Auf ein darauf folgendes klärendes Gespräch hat er sich nicht eingelassen und war beleidigt weil man ihn zu vor gesagt hatte er solle sich nicht von der seite in eine Diskussion einsmischen von welcher er nichts mitbekommen hat. Ihm wurde mehrfach in ruhiger Situation angeboten sich klar gegen den rassistisch Ausdruck in seinem Laden zu positionieren. Er war jedoch zu beleidigt weil ihn zuvor in der Hitze des Gefechts "halt den Mund" gesagt wurde. Der Täter, der Rassist, saß währenddessen an der Theke und genoss sein frisches Bier. Ein Laden ohne Moral und mit einem Besitzer ohne Weltanschauung. Hier sind offenbar nicht alle willkommen. Drecks Laden. Vermeiden.

Tolles Pub mit Live Musik, entspannter Atmosphäre, einer schönen Einrichtung und nettem Inhaber und einer lustigen Crew. Jederzeit wieder. 🫠

Hat mal wieder richtig Spaß gemacht

Wir waren schon sehr oft hier. Wer Pub Feeling in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße möchte ist hier richtig. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wobei ich sagen muss, früher war es ein wenig lockerer. Inzwischen ist man professionell höflich. Früher hatte man schneller einen Draht zum Team und man kam besser ins Gespräch. Das vermisse ich ein wenig; was aber persönlicher Geschmack ist. Im Kern ist es weiterhin eine Empfehlung. Es ist und bleibt konstant gut. Wenn wir wieder Lust auf ein Bierchen und gutes Pub Food haben sind wir hier genau richtig!

Alle irischen Biere vom Faß, die das Herz begehrt. Leckere Auswahl an Sandwiches, Burgern und Snacks. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und gemütlich. Egal ob gemütliche Runde mit Freunden, arbeiten am Laptop oder Kartenspielen zu einem Pint Guiness: So muss ein Irish Pub sein!

Ein super gemütliches Irish Pub mit tollen Drinks und Live-Musik. Der Barkeeper ist spitze und mixt richtig gute Shots … fragt nach dem B52! Wir hatten eine super Zeit hier, es ist gemütlich und lebhaft, aber nicht so, dass man sich nicht gut unterhalten kann. Unsere Gruppe hatte einen Riesenspaß. Ich würde hier wahrscheinlich nicht zu Abend essen, aber für Drinks und eine schöne Zeit komme ich jederzeit wieder!

Schön dass es Dinge gibt, welche sich nicht verändern. Ich weiß nicht mehr genau, wann ich zum ersten Mal im Celtic Cottage war, aber es ist wohl über 40 Jahre her. Mehr ist dazu nicht zu sagen.

Schöner Abend mit super live Musik

Sehr freundlicher und guter Service, lebhafte Atmosphäre am Freitag. Die Nachos waren fantastisch. Der Service war erstklassig.

Ich war gar nicht da, kann ich nicht sagen. Ich habe mich spontan für eine andere Location in Lichterfelde entschieden

Gemütliche verwinkelte "Kneipe" mit guter Bier- und Whiskyauswahl und gutem Essen.

Wir wohnen um die Ecke und gehen seit Jahren immer mal wieder hin. Die Atmosphäre und die Getränkeauswahl stimmen immer noch, aber die Qualität des Essens hat stark nachgelassen. Cottage Pie und Stew konnte man neulich kaum essen: Cottage Pie zu scharf 😳, Stew sehr dünn und geschmacklos. Sehr schade. Ich hoff, sie fangen sich wieder.

Gemütliche Atmosphäre! Preise okay. Die weibliche Bedienung war jedoch leider sehr unhöflich - man fühlte sich nicht sonderlich willkommen. Schade

"Stammgäste enttäuscht - Preis-Leistung und Kommunikation stimmen nicht mehr" Nachtrag 2024: Zeit meine erste Bewertung von vor sieben Jahren anzupassen, denn leider können die damals positiven Eindrücke nicht mehr bestätigt werden. Wir waren über Jahre hinweg treue Stammgäste und sind durch dick und dünn mit dem Celtic gegangen - sogar während Corona haben wir Flaschen zum Abfüllen vorbeigebracht, damit sie "über die Runden kommen". Früher war hier wirklich alles top und auch die Preise waren in einem Rahmen wo man sich öfters den Besuch gegönnt hat 👍 🍺 Das Murphys Red kostet mittlerweile über 6€ für den halben Liter. Klar, alles wird teurer - aber das tut schon weh. 🍔 Der Burger war früher, als er noch als Special auf der Wochenkarte stand, wirklich richitg gut. Heute stolze 18€ (Cheeseburger + Kartoffelspalten) und ehrlich gesagt leider auch nicht mehr so gut wie damals. Aus meiner Sicht keine Option mehr. 💬 Wir haben das auch im Gespräch mit dem Chef angesprochen was denn passiert sei, dass die Preise bei jedem Besuch so steigen. Seine Antwort: Wir sollen beim Lieferanten fragen warum die Preise steigen. Seine weitere Aussage war dann, wir wären wahrscheinlich lange nicht da gewesen, denn der aktuelle Preis wäre schon eine Weile so. Am Nachbartisch hörten wir dann noch auf die Frage nach den Beilagen ein "die stehen doch in der Karte". Das wirkte alles eher genervt. Ich verstehe ja, dass die Situation in der Gastronomie schwierig ist und überall die Kosten steigen 📈 Aber wenn Gäste nachfragen, wäre eine offene Kommunikation schon schön gewesen statt solche Antworten. ➖ Schade eigentlich, denn das Celtic war über viele Jahre eine feste Größe für uns. Aber aktuell müssen wir wirklich schauen wie das alles noch ins Budget passt und ob man es möchte.

Mit Live-Musik und Bar-Snacks. Ein Riesenspaß!

Seit Jahren gut 👍. Tolles Bier... riesengroße Auswahl an Whisky ... leckere kleine Gerichte. Ich komme immer gerne wieder.

Unbelievable what I experienced there today. I ate and drank. My girlfriend had a pot of tea and an apple spritzer. Since the tea was too weak with just one tea bag in the pot, she asked for a second bag. She got one. When it came time to pay, the waiter tried to charge us twice for the tea. We thought it was a joke... but no, he was serious. Either we pay for the two teas or we're never coming back... gulp... we were speechless. We used to go there regularly and had noticed a lot of changes over the years. It's a shame; we won't be going back. We wish the place all the best, though.

I've been a satisfied customer for many years. Great bands, good beers, nice people. Today was my last visit. I ordered tea, it tasted of nothing, I asked for a second cup, and then the bill came to €10 (one tea costs €5). I thought it was a joke. The very rude waiter demanded I either pay or be banned. I'll voluntarily refrain from ever setting foot in this place again. What a shame... everything has really gone downhill.

A €100 deposit to reserve a table? There are several other pubs; it might have been a nice evening with friends.

I haven't been there in many years, and I haven't noticed much of a difference. It's still very cozy, with very attentive and friendly service. One of the best pubs in Berlin. With a very good selection of music. If only it weren't so far away from us...

Friendly, fast service. A good selection of beers and wines; whisky lovers will certainly find something to enjoy here. The food is very tasty and consistently of good quality. Often busy, so reservations are essential in the summer. Highly recommended.

Pub quizzes are held on Mondays: highly recommended for connoisseurs. Various beers on tap, authentic decor.

Celtic Cottage is a gem in Berlin. Delicious food, excellent warm hospitality, and a great vibe throughout. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening with good food and atmosphere.

Our favourite Irish pub in Berlin. Their food is very good, especially the cottage pie. The beer is top!

Hot summer evening, sitting outside, good atmosphere and attentive service. Murphy's Red is good (no Kilkenny). The cottage pie was tasty, but a little sloppy, likewise the burger. Not on this occasion, but have enjoyed a pub quiz here, so good place to visit.

Very good pub. They serve Guinness and Irish Red, as well as Newcastle Brown and cider, along with a few continental beers (but who wants that anyway? 😀). The food is excellent. The burgers are fantastic, and the cottage pie is outstanding. The service is fast and relaxed. The highlight is a truly exceptionally select whiskey list with truly high-end malts. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere is straight out of Dublin: rustic, charming, and with a large terrace. The beers are authentic, and the food is typically delicious and affordable for a pub. Friendly service rounds off the pleasant visit.

Please check out this AWESOME PUB!!! One of the best pubs in Berlin! The interior is beautifully decorated with dark wood, and there are plenty of outdoor seating options. A very good selection of food and, above all, drinks. On selected days, there's live music, a pub quiz, and much more. The restrooms are clean, and you can pay by card.

I love the great service at Celtic Cottage! The staff is engaging and super friendly, and they always give great advice. The atmosphere is informal and cozy – you just feel at home. I'm not from Berlin, but I'm in the city every few months and I always enjoy stopping by!

When I asked this restaurant (twice) by phone whether there was sports broadcast there, it was simply hung up with no answer. What rudeness.

Ich war im Celtic Cottage zum Pub Quiz mit Freunden. Ich hatte mir ein Glas Apfelschorle bestellt, bekam aber eine art Apfelwasser komplett ohne Kohlensäure. Vielleicht stand die Wasserflasche recht lange offen? Das eigentliche Problem war aber die Reaktion des Kellners. Ich sagte dem Kellner mit der Glatze an der Bar, dass meine Apfelschorle keine Kohlensäure hat, er ist dabei recht aggressiv geworden. Er schob mir eine Flasche quasi ins Gesicht und schrie mich an "ICH GARANTIERE DIR HIER IST KOHLENSÄURE!!!", drehte sich um und zeigte mir die kalte Schulter. Ich stand da schockiert. Es war recht Schade weil wir hatten uns auf den Quiz Abend gefreut aber diese Aggression hat uns den Abend etwas ruiniert.

This was our last visit to the Celtic Cottage. After our first two pub quizzes at the Celtic Cottage in recent years, we had somewhat mixed feelings about the location and the way it was run, so we wanted to give it another try this year. But first, let's talk about my experience from the two previous visits. Both times, we had made reservations for the Monday pub quizzes. The first time, we were assigned a standing table in the entrance area. Eating wasn't possible in our opinion. The second time, there was actually a regular table. However, it was designed for a maximum of three people, even though we had reserved for five people. Two women were sitting at the neighboring table, which was designed for four to five people. After a long wait, we asked the waiter if we could swap with the table next to us. His response was that he didn't want to do that as a member of staff because he found it rude as a host. We should please discuss it with the two women ourselves, and if they agreed, simply swap. We did, and the conversation with the women was straightforward. Still, it's absurd that five of us want to eat and have to make sure we even have space to eat. Mondays are generally pretty tight anyway because of the quiz. Waiting times were also sometimes truly abysmal. As I said, we wanted to give it another chance. So, over the past few weeks, I've been trying to spontaneously reserve a table by phone on Mondays, but unfortunately, that didn't work. That's totally fine, too. So I planned ahead and marked April 7th. Since reservations for April 7th were available from March 11th, I scheduled March 11th at 9:00 a.m. so I could submit my reservation online in time. On March 11th, no reservations were available at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., I checked again, and the reservation was available. So I filled out everything carefully and was happy that we could finally be there again. They said the reservation wouldn't be confirmed until I received another email. 11 days later, on March 22nd, I received an email saying that unfortunately all tables were reserved for April 7th. How crazy is that? The reservation was only possible for a maximum of about an hour, I kept checking back, and then, almost two weeks after the reservation, I get the email saying all the tables are booked? How customer-unfriendly can you possibly be? I'm really getting fed up when I see all the restaurateurs whining about how they're on the breadline and having to fight for their guests, blah blah. But here they're just cherry-picking on an already busy Monday. But you don't even think about the fact that people won't want to enter your store on other less busy days either, after having such experiences, do you? I'm simply fed up with these kinds of places that try to prioritize their regulars and then simply fill up with potential new regulars. It's simply absurd that all the tables were supposedly full at the time I made my reservation. And if that were the case, why did they only respond almost two weeks later? Questions, questions, and questions for owners like that. Good luck, Gunnar, with this strategy – may you always be busy and never suffer.

A cozy and typically furnished Irish pub. The conditions were super nice and we were very attentive, we were never left high and dry and got everything quickly. We were in the pub on a Friday evening and it was busy inside and out. But we still got a cookie. Food was good too. We will definitely go there again.

The vegan food was delicious and the service very friendly. I also really enjoyed the weekly pub quiz on Mondays.

Great pub! Great service with good selection of beer, ale, stout, snacks... and the real food is great too. Starts with breakfast and in the evening, during the live music with/and/or pub quiz, everyone is still taken care of. Great recommendation!

Celtic Cottage = Iconic Cottage. Such a beautiful place!

Actually, actually been here for St. Patrick's Day 2025 was outstanding. Waiters on their toes, always at the table quickly - that's what I want and that's certainly how the company wants it too! Top guy that was parked there.

Like a student bar from the 70s. Good service, rustic food. I recommend Murphy's Red for beer and Cottage Pie for food. Regular, well-organized quiz evenings, every Monday and live music. At the quiz evenings you should appear as a team, otherwise you have no chance of getting one of the top places.

For years it has simply been a cozy place to stop and meet friends for a cold drink or two. Always has a very relaxed atmosphere. Always very crowded on the weekends but you can reserve a place. Drink prices reasonable.

I like the store very much. Everyone on the team is super friendly, drinks and food are of a good standard and the ambience is perfect.

Update: the full Irish breakfast and the half Irish breakfast are unfortunately no longer on the menu. The restaurant now opens from 15:00. The service and other meals are still good - but it's not really a brunch option anymore, just to warn.

A wonderful place to listen to live music and spend a nice evening. If the burgers could now reach their former level, that would be great. The burger buns are as hard as a board and can hardly be beaten with a knife. The problem has probably been known for weeks, but the chef can't seem to get people to switch back to normal soft buns. Maybe the boss will put in a good word for his guests.

I like that there. Of course not a bargain, but totally comfortable. Staff is sometimes in a bad mood, but maybe. Is that just human...

We were there early on Thursday evening and got a table with a corner bench without any problems. To eat we had the pie (delicious) with bread and a 0.5 pint of Guinness or a southern German beer. Prices as expected €11 for the pie and €6 for the Guinness. The facility was cozy and clean. The service was quick and cheerful, but always polite. The (men's) toilet is in very good condition, clean and smells fresh. The music on the tape was unobtrusive, from pop to rock, ... and in between hits. The live music was a bit more interactive. Cover songs, well interpreted to the guitar. When we left later the store was well stocked but not overcrowded. If I lived closer, I would definitely come more often.

We used to love going there. Since the introduction of the reservation fee of 10 euros per person, the service and customer friendliness has become increasingly poor. In the early evening I wanted to reserve a table by phone - despite the reservation fee. The answer on the phone was, it's really bad right now, write an email. The correct answer would have been, excuse me, can we call you back straight away? Once again we canceled the table in good time. Refunding the reservation fee took over two weeks and required several emails. The music from the speakers is so loud that it is almost impossible to have a conversation at the table. It takes several minutes, up to half an hour, for the service to notice that you still have a request, despite moderate utilization. After further problems on our last visit, this will unfortunately be our last visit.

A great pub, I like going there with some of my friends. Super nice people and delicious drinks at authentic prices. As a professional you can spend a little bit on the long evening, but that happens.

Irish Breakfest at it's best. Great pub, nice atmosphere, huge whiskey selection. Again and again! There is also a beer garden! Now more live events again. Always note opening times, the information is maintained by the operator! Cottage Pie is highly recommended!

Super tasty, fresh food with typical Irish and English cuisine. There is a large selection of beers including German beers on tap. The service is very attentive and friendly! Card payments including American Express are possible without any problems. 🤩

Great ambience paired with good and attentive service! At Celtic Cottage there is a huge selection of different stouts, reds and also Pilseners like Heineken or Kindl. The pint is available until 5 p.m. for an unbeatable 13 euros! The food tastes really good and is freshly prepared. The heated outdoor terrace is particularly inviting, but the interior design is also super authentic!

Highly recommended. It's been my go-to place for years when I want to meet up for a beer with my friends scattered around the world. Friendly service, rustic atmosphere, delicious drinks.

Super cozy Irish pub. Fast and very good service. Had something to drink.

Small pub with good beer, good food and great live music. I can only recommend it.

Great pub, super friendly and clean. Atmosphere unique, great, enchanting. Menu was also great and the sandwich and potato wedges were delicious.
