Sie akzeptieren nur Kartenzahlung ab 15 €. Wir hatten 14 € bezahlt und boten an, 1 € mehr zu geben, um den Fehlbetrag auszugleichen. Trotzdem wurden wir herablassend behandelt, obwohl wir freundlich fragten, ob das in Ordnung sei. Zwei Angestellte kamen auf uns zu. Der erste informierte uns freundlich, dass die Küche gegen 21:00 Uhr schließt und wir gerne noch sitzen bleiben und unsere Getränke austrinken könnten. Nur wenige Minuten später kam ein anderer Angestellter und drängte uns zum Gehen, was sich sehr abrupt und unfreundlich anfühlte. Ich habe meinen Besuch dort nicht genossen und werde nicht wiederkommen.

Ich war neugierig auf diesen Laden, fand die Speisekarte aber etwas teuer, bis ich die neuen Mittagsangebote sah und es dann doch probierte. Die Portionen waren okay, aber nicht sättigend. Das Essen war fad und obwohl alle in der Küche Japanisch sprachen, erinnerte es mich nicht wirklich an das, was ich in Japan gegessen hatte. Außerdem war der Service eher kühl und unfreundlich. Vielleicht sind die Takoyaki besser, aber ich war insgesamt nicht begeistert.

Ein absoluter Glücksgriff hier in der Bleibtreustraße. Alles, was wir probiert haben, war nicht nur optisch ein kleines Kunstwerk, sondern auch geschmacklich fantastisch. Besonders das Gericht auf der schwarzen Schieferplatte hat uns begeistert. Die Präsentation der Takoyaki mit den feinen Fischflocken und der frischen Frühlingszwiebel war ein echtes Highlight. Auch die selbst gemachten Getränke, bei denen man die Kiwi direkt selbst ausdrücken kann, sind eine tolle Idee. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Authentisches japanisches Essen, mein Lieblingsrestaurant für Takoyaki

Ein kleines Restaurant mit leckerem japanischem Essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Eher sanft im Geschmack. Auch der Tee. Wir hatten Teriyaki- Hühnchen-Don und Schwein-Udon. Dazu Spinat und Rapsblüten sowie die Bällchen mit Tintenfisch-Ärmchen. Es gab auf der Karte auch Gerichte mit Tofu oder Lachs. Die Bedienung war super nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente war schlicht und sauber.

Das Momiji bietet authentische japanische Küche. Ihre Spezialität sind Takoyaki (Octopusbällchen) und diese gehören mit Abstand zu den besten außerhalb von Japan und innerhalb Deutschlands. Den Yuzu Tee kann ich besonders zusammen mit einer Chazuke empfehlen. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und man kann den Köchen durch die offene Küche bei den Zubereitungen der Speisen zuschauen. Ich kenne keinen Japaner in Berlin wo ich mich wohler fühle!

Das Essen ist immer sehr gut und die Preise sind angemessen. Das Lokal ist klein, aber gemütlich. Ich habe nur vier Sterne vergeben, weil wir nach dem Essen einen starken Essensgeruch an Kleidung und Haaren hatten und der Service beim letzten Mal etwas unorganisiert war; wir brauchten fast die gesamte Dauer des Essens, um die Rechnung zu bezahlen.

War abends ca. ab 19 Uhr da. Recht belebt und da ich alleine kam, bekam ich einen Platz an der Bar zugewiesen. Hier konnte ich das live cooking beobachten. Sitzt sich sehr angenehm und Musik läuft dezent im Hintergrund. Man kann sich gut unterhalten. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam und nehmen jede Bestellung schnell entgegen. Mein erstes Menü kam etwas spät. Dafür erhielt ich aber ein Gericht kostenlos. Danke nochmals. Die gebratenen Tintenfisch Bällchen waren wirklich köstlich und ich kann das Gericht sehr empfehlen. Vielen Dank dafür. Dazu Salat mit Seetang bestellt, I'm Anschluss eine Bowl mit Hühnchen und zum Nachtisch eine Matcha Schoko ganache mit Matcha tee. Tolle und wirklich geschmackvolle Komposition. Das Team ist sehr aufmerksam und kümmert sich jederzeit rührend um ihre Gäste. Möchte das Restaurant nur jedem empfehlen.

Ich habe die authentische Atmosphäre dieses japanischen Restaurants mitten in Berlin sehr genossen. Die Speisen waren harmonisch aufeinander abgestimmt und die Gänge wurden perfekt serviert. Wir hatten Yuzu-Sake, der einfach fantastisch war, Edamame und Takoyaki als Vorspeise, gefolgt von Yakiniku Don (Udon-Nudeln) und zum Abschluss Momiji, Matcha-Eis mit einem Schuss Sake. Das Dessert ist nicht so süß wie klassisches Eis, sondern leicht herb, sodass es den Geschmack der anderen Speisen perfekt ergänzt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und professionell. Ich kann das Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen und komme ganz sicher wieder.

Früher war es viel besser… weit entfernt von authentischem japanischem Essen

Authentisches Restaurant: sehr lecker und zuvorkommender Service. Auch auf Sonderwünsche (kein Fleisch) wurde freundlich eingegangen. Die Dorayaki sind wirklich Spitzenklasse und dieses Kompliment von mir will etwas heißen, denn bei Wagashi braucht es schon einiges um mich zu überzeugen. Wir werden wieder hingehen und können das momiji nur empfehlen.

Wir hatten ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis im japanischen Restaurant Momiji. Die Takoyaki waren besonders lecker – außen knusprig und innen weich. Auch das Teriyaki Chicken Don und die Miso-Suppe haben uns sehr gut geschmeckt, ebenso wie das Pork Yakiniku Udon Set, das sehr schmackhaft und sättigend war. Wir haben sogar versehentlich Getränke mit Suntory Roku Gin bestellt und es erst beim Probieren bemerkt – aber auch die waren ausgezeichnet. Alles hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und wir waren rundum zufrieden. Wir kommen gerne wieder. (We had a really great experience at Momiji Japanese Restaurant. We even accidentally ordered drinks with Suntory Roku Gin and only realized it after tasting — but they were excellent too. Everything tasted good and we left highly satisfied. Sie scheinen immer ein bisschen überfordert aber die Freundlichkeit und der Charme sind unschlagbar. Das Essen ist umwerfend und bis in die Details durchdacht und lecker. Einzige Kritik wäre am Lichtkonzept. Für so kleine Räume empfehlen sich Wandlampen statt mittige Deckenlampen. Das würde den Raum größer und heller machen. Es ist immer etwas zu dunkel und Energiesparbirnen sind nun mal eher traurig als strahlend. Einige Tische liegen fast ganz im dunklen…. Aber insgesamt ein Juwel.

Es ist zwar teurer als die meisten Ramen-Restaurants in Berlin, aber es lohnt sich absolut. Alles war köstlich, von den Vorspeisen bis zum Dessert (Takoyaki und Moshi hatten eine tolle Konsistenz). Die Portionen waren ausreichend. Die Atmosphäre war genau richtig, was Licht und Geräuschkulisse anging! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder :)

Met up with an old friend from way back and we had a really lovely evening! The food was excellent, as were the drinks.

Momiji is a culinary highlight in Berlin. They serve excellent Japanese home-style cooking at reasonable prices. The small restaurant is almost impossible to miss, but for me, it's a real hidden gem. You should definitely make a reservation in the evenings, as I've often found the restaurant packed and guests have to be turned away.

The food was excellent and the service exceptionally friendly – ​​which is rare in Berlin. Highly recommended!

We had a negishio dinner set, curry udon and desserts, and all of them were delicious. My girlfriend is a bit of a Japanese curry snob, and it's some of the best curry udon we've had outside Japan

All in all, it was perfect. We'd definitely go back next time we come to Berlin.

Authentic Japanese food isn't easy to find in Berlin, and unfortunately, curry is a rare find. It wasn't bad, but it was too mild, even for Japanese curry. Perhaps the other dishes are more convincing.

Nice service, tasty, a little bit more expensive than I expected

The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable, especially for Berlin Charlottenburg. The staff was friendly and attentive. However, the restaurant is very small, has an open kitchen, and no proper ventilation system. It smelled very strongly of food and was a bit smoky. After a while, you get used to it, but all the clothes you were wearing had to be washed.

Takotaki!!! They are like clouds in your mouth. Nice, cozy place. Everything from starters to drinks has an authentic taste and made with love.

Authentic, good choice of BGM (jazzy and/or lo-fi), portion not too small not too big, for an asian, its just right, takoyaki is a must try for non vegans/non vegetarians

If you're looking for traditional Japanese food (and I'm not talking about sushi), this is one of the best places to eat. From their takoyakis to their udons. Everything is delicious. My favorites are the 9 takoyaki plate, the beef udon soup and their matcha cheesecake. The best part is that you get to see the chef do the takoyakis live. If you're looking for a not too crowded space and great Japanese food, this is the place to be.

Thank you so much for the incredibly delicious omurice (a little bit of Japan in Germany) The waiter/chef was there alone and had a lot to do, but he still had a smile on his face and enjoyed his work. I'll definitely be back. The atmosphere was very good and the music wasn't too loud. I'll be back in Berlin in August, and a stop there is a must. 5/5 stars, keep it up!

The waitress did not want to return the money 😅 she wanted to keep almost 30% as a tip… And for what: service is basic, wine is bad, food is not disgusting but if you’re above average Berlin standards, that’s not the place for you. It’s a basic food with rice and cottage, and its 19€ for small salmon. :) as I said - basic and OK. please don’t reply to me saying “the waitress didn’t understand you”, I said it quite well she needs to return and then when after 10 minutes I went to her to ask for the spare she gave 5€ very unwillingly back and slowly.. I could leave a much bigger tip if you would be respectful and more polite. ;)

Great restaurant where really Japanese cook and serve. There is a good selection of typical Japanese food, apart from sushi and ramen, so you are forced to try new things. And these are freshly prepared. You can taste that.

Relatively small and inconspicuous on a side street off Kantstrasse. Not much fancy decoration and more than simply furnished. Together with the small open kitchen, momiji is more reminiscent of a classic Izakaya somewhere outside of Tokyo or Osaka, not of a restaurant in the middle of Berlin Charlottenburg. Super delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine. Everything is freshly prepared here, even the takoyaki are fried in portions. Quite a large selection of different donburi and udon dishes, as well as a colorful mix of starters and a quite interesting selection of teas and sake. Very nice chef who is happy to have a chat and a really nice and courteous team! On busy days you may want to bring a little more time. But definitely a recommendation!

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The place is decorated in a very simple and elegant way, and the food is sensational. The drinks are also very good, from the tasting of three types of sake to the hot sweet citron drink. The polo meatballs were delicious and the teriaki chicken was delicious too! To close, also a good dessert. In short, an evening worth repeating. The staff generally speaks English well, and the environment is quite quiet and peaceful. Prices are commensurate with the neighborhood and city. Good work!

Best place to come if you’re a big fan of Takoyaki! They’re very authentic and even better than some places in Japan :) 🇯🇵 They are being prepared in an open kitchen and super fresh - you can also watch the chef preparing them for you LOVE IT 🥰 All the staff is Japanese and it’s a great cozy Japanese atmosphere in there. Unfortunately the rice bowl I had was just so so - I had the NegiShio Don, and there was salad on the rice which was a bit confusing and the rice was a bit dry. I would not order a rice bowl but try their Udon Noodles next time.

Stopped by this cozy venue with girlfriends. Was really looking forward to authentic Japanese. The menu consists more of home cooked dishes such as curry don, oyako don, some udons etc… so do not walk in expecting sushi. We started off with the 6 piece takoyaki and some other cold dishes. Takoyaki is a common street food in Japan. It was decent and tasted very good and authentic. Unfortunately, our Dons were just okay. My friend took the eggplant don and I the chazuke. Overall, service was okay and it was served in a timely manner but food taste was just not that great except for the takoyaki.

The food tasted great (teriyaki salmon) and the service was incredibly courteous and friendly (we were there with two strollers including babies)! Would go again!

The food is good. The dishes, which are cheap, are also relatively small, but the whole thing is adequate. The place is quite small and Friday evening was also very busy, the waiter was a bit overwhelmed by the large number of people. Definitely better reserve a place, we were lucky to find a place at all! There are dishes with tofu, or with meat (chicken, pork) and fish. Unfortunately fish is only salmon, it would be nice if they also offered other types of fish. But salmon was very good! It is not possible to pay tips using the card. Overall, I am satisfied and will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant.

service is great. we had to wait outside for 20 minutes before we got a table. once we get in, the waitress gave us tea for free, just because we waited for so long outside. food was great and people are nice.

Stumbled across this restaurant while looking for takoyaki. Here you can watch how the dishes and especially the takoyaki are prepared in the open kitchen. Even if these take some time, they are definitely a clear recommendation and the best you can get in Berlin. However, all the other dishes were also excellent, so there should be something for every lover of Japanese cuisine. There isn't just sushi here, but that wasn't a loss given the wide selection of dishes.

Three of us were there for our son's birthday. A bit chaotic because of the reservation. Small restaurant with seating on Bleibtreustrasse. We wouldn't describe it as particularly comfortable. But the service is very friendly and attentive with good advice. We had 3 starters Edamame, Tofu Kimchi, Takoyaki. 3 main courses Sesame Udon, Udon Yakinik, Miso Itame. 3 Dessert Matcha Cheeskake, Daifuku Mochi, Sakura Mochi. Without exception, everything was very good and quite authentic (we have been to Japan very often). Plus a large bottle of sake. So a clear recommendation and you can easily go there. But should be reserved in advance.

Things are relaxed here. When the weather is nice there is a small area in front of the door and otherwise a very quiet interior invites you to eat. The menu offers some exciting dishes. If you like trying new things, this is the right place for you. The team is super nice and gives you very good advice.

Overrated Takoyaki Beef is a way too salty & dry, no matter don or udon

Located in the Savignyplatz area, this restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. The takoyaki is a must-try, with a perfectly crispy exterior and a tender interior. I also enjoyed the Umeshu Cocktail and the plum sake, both of which were refreshing and delicious. However, I wasn’t a fan of the mochi from the dessert menu. Despite this, the menu features a variety of other tasty options, making it a great spot for an enjoyable meal.

Truly an absolute favorite restaurant! The food is delicious and the portions are just the right size. I originally became aware of the restaurant because of the takoyaki but was immediately convinced by the rest of the offering. I would order everything I've tried there again in a heartbeat (which is what I usually do haha). The service is also great, really attentive and warm. Absolute recommendation!

An absolute artistic delight. Rarely eaten such good takoyaki outside of Japan.

The restaurant is narrow but you can still sit here in a pleasant atmosphere. The kitchen is open and you can watch the chefs at work. In addition to a suggested menu, you can also put together all the courses yourself. The food is fresh and tastes really good. The fact that many customers of Japanese origin also eat here reinforces the impression that they enjoy good Japanese cuisine.
