TZOM - Eritrean Restaurant in Berlin

Unfortunately the food was too spicy for me but that is of course a matter of opinion. Otherwise it was very solid. I didn't find the atmosphere very nice, a bit shabby.

Delicious and authentic Eritrean food in a nice, relaxed atmosphere with very nice service.

Went here to try something I haven't tried before, I wasn't expecting too much but TZOM FAR exceeded my expectations! Not only were the portion sizes large, everything we tried tasted incredible and the waitress was super attentive and friendly. The mixed platter for 1 was great to try out a few different flavours, the fatta was a huge portion and my personal favourite was the deep fried bread strips with minced meat and yogurt, definitely a must-try here! I've never had Eritrean food (or anything similar to it even) before, can safely say it's definitely worth checking out! We ended up paying about 51 euros in total, for the amount of food we got I'd say you can't ask for much better value.

Restaurant review: An unforgettable evening in the Eritrean restaurant TZOM in Berlin We had the pleasure of spontaneously visiting an Eritrean restaurant in Berlin as a family and it was a truly wonderful experience. We came there without any great expectations and were pleasantly surprised in every respect. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting, with an authentic and lovingly designed interior that immediately immersed us in Eritrean culture. The service was friendly and attentive, and although we arrived without a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and seated straight away. The absolute highlight, however, was the food. The selection of traditional Eritrean dishes was impressive and there was something for every taste. The injera, the traditional flatbread, and the various side dishes and stews that were served with it were particularly excellent. Each dish was freshly prepared and refined with a harmonious combination of spices that perfectly captured the authentic taste of Eritrean cuisine. Our children were equally thrilled and couldn't get enough of the delicious food. What we particularly enjoyed was the communal dining experience. Many dishes were served on a large platter, making the evening a social and interactive experience. It was nice to sit together as a family, share and discover the diversity of Eritrean cuisine. In summary, our spontaneous visit to this Eritrean restaurant was a complete success. We were completely impressed by the excellent implementation of Eritrean cuisine, coupled with the friendly atmosphere and attentive service. We can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next visit!

Food could‘ve had more taste. Service was good and friendly. Card payments & tap water.

The area is nice. Quite place with a nice terrace. Good service. But very expensive for the kind of food. We asked for a mix plate and it was a a poor combination of beans and sauces. Mixing fancy and like a ranch food. It was too expensive for that. The apperol cocktail also very expensive for the mix.

Were there for a birthday. For everyone, it’s their first time eating Eritrean food. It was very tasty and the waiter was super friendly!

We had such a nice time at TZOM, Eritrean restaurant. The food was unique with strong flavour and taste. We enjoyed it a lot, especially the beef stew and the Fatta. Special note for the very friendly and kind service. Overall a great experience with generous portions.

I went there with 2 friends because we really want to try new cuisines and I have to say I'm a fan. We ordered 2 starters which the three of us shared and it was really delicious. Everything was well seasoned and after the starters you were left wanting more. When our main courses came, we were full of anticipation and here too I have to say that I was convinced. The bread that came with my meal was nice and crispy and the dish itself has a great natural taste. My friend was also blown away by his dish and couldn't stop talking about how cool he thought it was that the bread was already in his food and added another texture. For dessert we ordered tartufo and shared it between the two of us. It was really delicious and once again a good end to our culinary journey. Overall, I'm thrilled and can recommend it to people who want to try something new. Service was also very friendly!

A friend recommended the restaurant to us. Very pleasant service, great cuisine. Since it was still mild, we sat outside. Pleasant corner, nice neighborhood, charming place. Since I've never eaten Eritrean food before, I obviously can't judge how authentic the food was. But I can say that everything tasted delicious. Spiciness at just the right temperature for me, diverse textures and flavors. We simply sought advice when choosing and were not disappointed. I just saw online that the menu is being reworked. We are very excited and would love to come back.

A small, neighborhood place serving Eritrean food. Nothing fancy, it was well prepared and tasty. Part of the charm of Berlin is finding restaurants that serve something you would typically never find, and TZOM scores on that regard. It might not be a 'destination', but if you're walking around Kreuzberg and feel hungry, it's worth a stop.

Unfortunately for me it was a disappointment, the food was very greasy and not particularly tasty, the basement location wasn't good either, it's a shame, it wasn't worth the money.

Essen schmeckt in Ordnung, aber nicht begeisternd. Erstaunlich kleine Portionen bei hohen Preisen. Satt wird man wegen dem Brot, aber nicht wegen dem Gericht selbst. Alles in allem leider unterwältigende Erfahrung, schade.

Ein schöne ruhige Location nur paar hundert Meter vom überlaufenen hektischen Admiralsbrücke "Hotspot" entfernt. Gut erreichbar mit ÖPNV z.B. Bus M41 Körtestr. oder Ubahn Schönleinstr. nicht allzu weit vom Kottbuser Tor. Autofahrer können in der Dieffenbach Strasse kostenlos parken wenn mal eine Parklücke frei wird. Sehr zu empfehlen für z.B. ein kühles Augustiner draussen.

Würde ich nicht hunderte von KM weit weg wohnen, wäre ich def Stammgast. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert.

Das Essen ist köstlich und man sitzt wunderbar gemütlich entweder im Gastraum oder bei lauem Sommerwetter auf dem Bürgersteig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder!

We ordered platters to share to get a taste of everything. The food was delicious. The sauce with mushroom was on a spicier side. But the taste of everything else together balanced it. So talk to the server before ordering the food regarding the spice level, if you cannot handle the spice. In all, delicious food. Totally recommend it.

Ich hatte das Kitcha Fit Fit Premium und was soll ich sagen.. ich war geschmacklich komplett überrascht und geflasht, da ich das Gericht nicht kannte und wir zum ersten Mal hier essen waren. Der Service war auch rund um super. Wenn hier nichts frei sein sollte, lohnt sich das Warten!! Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder

Siamo usciti ora da questo lacale semplice i titolari erano molto gentili...noi per la prima volta che siamo andati curiosi del loro cibo ..la nostra cena ...era un piatto loro per due persone composto da poca carne lenticchie due coscetti piccole di pollo e due uova sode tutto sopra un pane come crêpe grande e stesso pane fritto a involtini piccole piccante come antipasto una bottiglia d.acqua e un totale di 52 euro .....un piatto che a loro costa si e non un 5 euro e non penso che ci sia molto lavoro dietro per farlo pagare 44 euro/due persone era molto povero ...siamo rimasti male e ci siamo detti era meglio una bella pizza o un kebab sicuramente avremmo pagato la metà della metà .non torneremo mai più .SCONSIGLIATISSIMO.non abbiamo visto che nella zona c.erano tanti altri locali e sicuramente era meglio.

Gutes Essen, vor allem die vegetarischen Varianten, und sehr aufmerksame und nette Bedienung. Der authentisch äthiopische Kaffee danach ist auch sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir kamen hin, nachdem wir von Lalibela's Attitude sehr enttäuscht waren - und waren hier nicht enttäuscht. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und die Stimmung ist ruhig und weit entfernt von der Unfreundlichkeit von Lalibela Neukölln. Wir haben Mix für 2 genommen und es war lecker und gut gewürzt. Das Essen kam schnell und alles war gut. Es ist relativ teuer - teurer als woanders (Vegan Mix für 2 kostet 32 Euro und ist nicht zu groß), aber wir werden trotzdem nochmal kommen. Danke.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Leider waren wir ganz alleine im Restaurant und auch die freundliche aber sehr zurückhaltende Bedienung war kaum bei uns und hat unsere Fragen zum Essensangebot nur begrenzt beantwortet. 4 Sterne fürs Essen, 2 für die Atmosphäre/Service. Schade!

Saucen waren gut zubereitet aber das Injera war leider zu dünn und nicht aus Teff. Für den Preis aber ok

Nice and cozy dining experience! There are some interesting restaurants in Berlin which offer the food you don't always get to try. TZOM is a great example of this, being one of the few Eritrean restaurants in Germany. And it's a good one! Dining experience is authentic, they do offer optionally cutlery, but the food can be easily eaten the traditional way which is using the hands. Menu is nice with many classic Eritrean dishes. Really liked the cooking with well balanced and well spiced foods. Portions are quite large and are perfect for sharing. Some nice wines on the menu too and even an Eritrean beer which is not special as such but nice to try. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. Will definitely return here some day!

What I could say is it is quite delicious with good spices and served in a nice way. I enjoy dining there in a good atmosphere with friendly service. The restaurant is not spacious but very cozy. 很有趣的經驗 我第一次嘗試Eritrean 食物, 蠻好吃的，普遍都有一些辣，但並不算非常辣。食材跟中餐很不一樣，有蠻多豆子類的食物，很快就會感覺飽。Eritrean 是用手抓著來吃的，很有趣，推薦你們來嘗試一下！服務人員的態度很好。

Toller Service, sehr gute Weinkarte und köstliches Essen, das schnell auf dem Tisch steht und in geselliger Runde am besten schmeckt. Nur die Stühle sind nicht so bequem und man kann nicht allzu lange sitzen.

I really enjoyed African food in Berlin and this place was one of the best. The shared platter with different combination of meat and veggie dishes was wonderful. The stew was full of flavour and a bit spicy. Stuff was great and very helpful. Enjoyed it very much.

Gutes authentisches Essen, sehr lecker. Freundliches Personal. 5 Sterne hätte ich gegeben, wenn Nachspeise und Bier auch aus Eritrea oder zumindest aus Afrika wären. Auf Wunsch wird das Essen zum mitnehmen eingepackt, was man nicht geschafft hat. Zahlung mit Kreditkarte möglich.

Wir waren mit Arbeitskollegen dort essen um mal was anderes zu probieren und landestypische Küche zu bekommen und das haben wir bekommen. Geschmacklich beschreiben kann ich es nicht, aber es war irgendwie lecker und der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich, die Preise okay und die Umgebung toll, ruhige Wohngegend, sodass man so einen richtigen Berlin Flair ebenfalls bekommt. Ich kann es absolut empfehlen, dieses Restaurant auszuprobieren, wirklich toll und auch sehr gut besucht 😊

I love coming to this place because of the welcoming atmosphere and amazing food! There are plenty of vegetarian options and I also love the moringa tea. The server is incredibly kind and speaks English as well as German.

Bardzo ciekawe miejsce, aby spróbować erytrejskiego jedzenia. Polecam spróbować na początek Meaddi Mix, który składa się z 4 różnych 'sosów' oraz dwóch kwaśny naleśników. Porcja dla jednej osoby to aż nadto, aby się najeść :-)
