Next Level Restaurant African Food And Bar in Berlin

Ich habe das erste mal afrikanisch gegessen. Zum Glück dort. Ich habe nur Okra Suppe bestellt. Die Kellnerin hat sich versichert, ob ich es wirklich bestellen möchte, da es schleimig ist und Pansen drin ist. Auch als ich es mit Reis bestellen wollte, empfahl sie mir Fufu zu nehmen, sonst schmeckt es nicht. Zwischendurch hat der Chef auch noch mal nachgefragt, ob es mir schmeckt, weil es außergewöhnlich ist, dass ein nicht Afrikaner das so bestellt. Geschmeckt hat es mir. Ich kann den Laden echt empfehlen.

Ich kann dieses Restaurant wirklich nur loben! Ich und meine beste Freundin waren im Juli 2026 hier zum ersten Mal und wurden direkt herzlich empfangen. Wir waren direkt um 15:00 da und hatten freie Platzwahl, ab 17:00/18:00 würde ich jedoch eine Reservierung empfehlen. Der Inhaber hat wirklich eine super energy und beantwortet einem auch wirklich jede Frage. Er hat sich für uns viel Zeit genommen und uns auch in die Vielfalt der Gerichte eingeführt. Zudem muss ich anmerken das die Toiletten sehr gepflegt und sauber sind, was für mich auch immer sehr wichtig ist. Das Maisfufu war nicht so meins, jedoch hat uns auch der Inhaber erklärt das es noch viele weitere Fufu Sorten gibt und das diese auch anders schmecken, deshalb würde ich das gar nicht negativ anmerken sondern einfach meinen Geschmack zu Schulde führen. Ansonsten war das Essen Mega lecker und auch die Geschichte des Restaurants sehr interessant. Besonders für die Freundlichkeit und das Ambiente würde ich jederzeit dieses Lokal empfehlen, es ist auch nur höchstens 5 min. Fußweg vom Bahnhof Hermannstr. entfernt. Also danke nochmal das wir so lieb aufgenommen wurden!

War wirklich extrem lecker! Der Besitzer ist richtig korrekt und locker. Fühlt sich an als würde man bei jemand zuhause essen. Ochsenschwanz und jollof Reis mit Chicken ist sehr zu empfehlen. Ist echt für jeden zu empfehlen der in Berlin afrikanisch essen will!

WM. Deutschland gegen Ecuador. Als wir ankamen, sah es geschlossen aus. Selbst in Neukölln war es schon nach 22 Uhr. Doch als sie uns an der Tür sahen, lächelten sie und sagten: „Kommt herein, die Küche kann noch ein Abendessen zubereiten.“ Das Spiel lief ja sowieso. Das Essen war köstlich: Der Ochsenschwanz und der Maniokblatt-Eintopf waren richtig herzhaft. Wir aßen „afrikanisch“, wie empfohlen. Mit Fofo zum Dippen und einer Schüssel kaltem Wasser zum Abspülen der Finger. Wir haben sogar das Spiel geschaut. Und wir schauen normalerweise keinen Fußball. Aber wir waren froh, dass wir es an diesem Abend getan haben. Und wir freuen uns, jedem unseren neuen Lieblingsplatz in der Gegend zu empfehlen. Nebenbei bemerkt: Jemand kam herein und sagte, sie wolle nur das Spiel sehen. Und ob sie Kochbananen bestellen könne? „Fierabend“, sagten sie. Wir konnten unsere nicht aufessen, also boten wir sie ihr an. „Ich hole Ihnen etwas dazu“, sagte unsere neue Bekannte. Sie lächelte und setzte sich, während wir nach Hause gingen, bevor das Spiel zu Ende war.

Ein absolut großartiger Laden mit einer super freundlichen und einladenden Atmosphäre! Wer authentisches afrikanisches Essen liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Die Küche ist ein absolutes Geschmackserlebnis und hebt das Ganze auf ein völlig neues Level. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Bei Uber Eats bestellt und die Bestellung ist nie angekommen ! Umsonst eine Stunde gewartet, weil das Restaurant falsche Öffnungszeiten bei Uber Eats angegeben hat.

Wirklich leckeres, bürgerliches Essen ohne Chichi. Kann ich nur empfehlen

Wir waren bei Next Level und haben Fufu mit Erdnusssoße sowie Reis bestellt. Geschmacklich war das Fufu mit der Soße grundsätzlich gut. Der Reis war allerdings sehr trocken. Leider habe ich bereits relativ am Anfang meines Essens ein Haar in meiner Portion Fufu gefunden. Ich habe den Chef darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Er wollte das Haar selbst sehen, hat es anschließend sogar aus dem Fufu herausgezogen und sich dafür entschuldigt. Er wirkte verständlicherweise ebenfalls schockiert über den Vorfall. Nach diesem Erlebnis konnte ich mein Essen jedoch nicht mehr weiteressen. Enttäuschend fand ich vor allem den Umgang mit der Situation am Ende. Trotz des offensichtlichen Fehlers musste ich den vollen Preis bezahlen. Es wurde weder eine neue Portion angeboten noch wurde das betroffene Gericht von der Rechnung genommen. Fehler können passieren, aber in einem solchen Fall hätte ich mir eine kulantere Lösung gewünscht. Für die Zukunft wäre es schön, wenn Gästen bei solchen Vorfällen zumindest Ersatz angeboten oder das betreffende Gericht nicht berechnet wird.

Es ist echt unglaublich, wie manche Leute schlechte Bewertungen schreiben und sich beschweren, nur weil sie bestimmte Geschmacksrichtungen oder Zutaten nicht gewohnt sind. Das Essen hier ist einfach fantastisch! Wenn du noch nie Okra oder Maniokblätter probiert hast, frag lieber vorher danach oder informiere dich, anstatt zu bestellen und dich dann zu beschweren. Die Leute hier sind super nett und können dir bestimmt etwas empfehlen, das genau deinem Geschmack entspricht. Die scharfe Soße gibt es sogar separat dazu, damit jeder jedes Gericht genießen kann.

Authentisch Afrikanische Küche. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen, alle waren satt und zufrieden 😎. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, zuvorkommend und alles klappt ohne lange Wartezeiten.

Meine Freundinnen und ich haben im Next Level zum ersten Mal Fufu gegessen und waren positiv überrascht. Es gibt eine tolle große Auswahl und viele Vegetarische Optionen, das Fufu und die Plantains haben mega lecker geschmeckt und lässt sich definitiv weiterempfehlen! Eine Portion war perfekt und hat sehr satt gemacht. Das Personal und vor allem der Inhaber waren äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich wodurch man sich sehr wohl gefühlt hat. Wir werden aufjedenfall wieder kommen! Danke. :)

Mir hat es nicht gefallen. Nach den Bewertungen hatte ich viel mehr erwartet. Wir mussten lange warten und fühlten uns nicht willkommen. Das Essen war allerdings nur mittelmäßig.

Mein Lieblingsrestaurant für westafrikanisches Essen in Berlin. Wahrscheinlich das beste Fufu, das ich je gegessen habe! Außerdem ist Barry, der Besitzer, super witzig und sorgt immer dafür, dass sich alle herzlich willkommen fühlen.

Super leckeres Essen und ein extrem freundlicher Restaurantinhaber, der immer für einen Spaß zu haben ist. Meine Freunde und ich fühlen uns immer sehr wohl und haben auch dieses Mal gut gespeist! ^^

İch war mit meiner Schwester und Brüder für İftar dort ( da es momentan Ramadan ist). Wir haben davor angerufen und uns wurde direkt klar, dass es ein guter Laden ist. Der Besitzer/Chef ist mit allen sehr freundlich unterwegs 10/10 und war auch sehr hilfreich/informative bei der Auswahl des Essens, da ich nicht so oft authentische afrikanische Küche esse und hat uns demnach empfohlen, was gut für Anfänger ist. Unser Gericht mit Erdnuss, Fleisch und Fufu war eine 10/10. Bedienung und Leitung waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Toiletten waren sauber und ordentlich. Es war ein schönes Erlebnis und ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen.

Das Essen ist so authentisch wie nur möglich. Die Räume sind zwar recht klein, aber sehr lebhaft.

Ich war heute mit meiner Tochter das erste mal afrikanisch Essen. Kleines aber feines Lokal. Hervorragende Beratung. Freundlicher Mitarbeiter. Essen hat super geschmeckt. Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Beste Okrasuppe mit Fufu Echtes afrikanisches Flair – dieser Laden ist der Hammer!

Ehrlich gesagt! Ich habe Fufu mit Okrasuppe zum Mitnehmen bestellt. Ich habe ausdrücklich darum gebeten, dass die Okrasuppe mild ist, da ich mit einem Kleinkind esse, das scharfes Essen nicht verträgt. Das Fufu schmeckte, als wäre es vom Vortag zubereitet worden, die Kochbanane war trocken und hart, und für den hohen Preis sah es einfach nur schrecklich aus. Die Bedienung war unglaublich unfreundlich und fragte nicht einmal, ob ich das Essen mitnehmen oder dort essen wollte. Sobald meine Tochter anfing zu weinen, sah sie mich an und sagte, es sei ausgebucht, haha. Wie dem auch sei, ich wollte dieses Restaurant schon immer mal ausprobieren, und jetzt habe ich es endlich geschafft. Ich war schon in afrikanischen Restaurants, wo man für unter 12 € ein heißes, frisches Essen mit einem Lächeln und zuvorkommendem Service bekommt!

Fufu mit erdnusssoße war geisteskrank geil

Hervorragendes Essen und einladende Atmosphäre. Die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend und die Gerichte sehr schmackhaft. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis.

Nettes Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre mit sehr gutem Service. Auf der Karte habe ich allerdings nur wenig gefunden, was ich gerne habe. Der Spinat war aber sehr gut (mit Reis). 👌🏼

Sehr netter kleiner Laden. Freundliche Bedienung und eine farbenfrohe Einrichtung. Der Humor ist bei Afrikanern immer unübertrefflich, man fühlt sich wohl. Meine Hauptspeise: Thieboudienne (Jollof Reis) mit Chicken. Die Hähnchenkeule war knusprig und perfekt gewürzt. Der Reis dazu hatte eine angenehme Schärfe. Eine gute Portion und man wird satt. Der Preis von 17 EUR ist auf jedenfall angemessen. Ich komme gerne wieder. Ya mann

Eine kulinarische Perle in Neukölln! Als Vegetarier kommt zwar ein grosser Teil der Gerichte für mich nicht in Frage, die drei bzw. vier vegetarischen Optionen kann ich allerdings ausnahmlos empfehlen, ganz besonders die Erdnussbutter mit Fufu/Pounded Yam. Der herzliche Besitzer und sein sympathisches Team haben uns mittlerweile zu regelmässigen Gästen gemacht. Highly Recommended!

Like some previous reviewers, we stumbled upon the restaurant by chance—a very lucky coincidence at that, because the food was truly delicious and well-prepared. The oxtail soup is a special recommendation.

The food was delicious. We arrived without a reservation but were seated right away, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was our first time eating fufu, so my friend had a different soup that apparently not many Germans like. The owner of the restaurant immediately warned us and asked if we were sure. When we said it was delicious, you could tell how happy he was. We were able to chat a bit with the staff, and we felt like we were on the same page! I'd be happy to go back, I highly recommend it :)

There's little African food in Berlin and less that feels at least authentic. Needless to say I feel like I've gotten an authentic food experience here. Always a good sign if native people eat and hangout there. I ordered cow legs or something and got a dish I would never have expected to get in Germany. It had lots of skin and fat and was a bit chewy. Which I personally don't dislike. With fufu that was cooked to an incredibly perfect degree. Only drawback was that it took a while to arrive but everything good needs time right. Would recommend this spot for people looking for a nice authentic experience. Has vegan option available. It's a bit tight tho and usually full on days you feel like going.

We ordered here. It was very important to us that both dishes be vegan – we explicitly emphasized this twice over the phone and also marked both dishes as "vegan" online. However, the dishes we received were meat and fish – the complete opposite of what we ordered. There was no indication online that the dishes might contain animal products. When we contacted the restaurant, the treatment was very inappropriate. The communication with the manager was disrespectful: We were told in an unprofessional tone that we were just unlucky. We are shocked by this treatment of customers, by the lack of responsibility for two obvious mistakes, and by the disrespectful tone – especially for a diet that plays an important role for ethical, health, or religious reasons. Furthermore, we paid over fifty euros for an order that, as vegans, we couldn't and didn't want to eat. Conclusion: Unfriendly, unprofessional

A true highlight in Berlin! I was absolutely thrilled by Next Level. The ambiance is modern, stylish, yet cozy; you immediately feel at home. The service was attentive, friendly, and very professional from the start. The food was simply fantastic! Every dish was creative, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail and the high-quality ingredients. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired, with great cocktails, exciting wines, and delicious non-alcoholic alternatives. You can tell that the cooking and serving here is done with passion. For me, this is definitely one of the most exciting restaurants in Berlin; I'll definitely be back again!

I visited the usually full restaurant one day a week and tried the various dishes. We liked the fried bananas and fufu the best. It's a somewhat unusual dish for Europeans, but I think it's worth trying.

A very good restaurant, I highly recommend it. You don't have to wait long, and the music here has a very African vibe.

However, only two portions of fufu were delivered, and the soup was completely missing. Even the delivery service confirmed that only these two items had been delivered. When I subsequently contacted the manager, I was treated extremely disrespectfully. I was called a liar and told in an extremely unprofessional tone that the manager "didn't give a damn" – quote – and that I was just out of luck. I am absolutely shocked by the lack of respect and disrespectful manner, and especially by the fact that they seem to be getting away with cheating here. This is not how you treat customers! Conclusion: Unfriendly, unprofessional, and in my case, clearly a scam. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great - straight to the point and fast. The service was above average. The food was tasty, with nice textures and nice and warm, will definitely be returning!

What a shame! I was looking forward to trying something new. Vegetarians and vegans won't get their money's worth here. Firstly, the menu is predominantly animal-based, but even the plant-based dishes smell of meat broth. Hygiene-wise, it wasn't promising either. The service was nice, but unfortunately really difficult. I ordered sparkling water twice (with gas, seltas, etc.) and unfortunately, I only got tap water each time, with more small ice cubes that were filled by hand while the waitress checked her phone. We paid around €40 for two dishes, tap water, and a stomachache. What a shame.

Wow! That was an amazing dining experience. We were just in the area and found this gem!! We had to wait an hour to get a table cause we did not reserve beforehand. BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT! Super super happy. we ordered the jollof rice (of course), beef with peanut butter sauce and rice, and the cow tail pepper soup. It was explosion of flavors. They did not “tone it down” and that’s how I like it. I would eat here at least once a week if I lived nearby or if I lived in Berlin. Staff are super nice and friendly. 5/5 and can’t wait to eat here again and try more food! PS. if you’re choosing between fufu and the pounded yam, I would go for the yam!! 😍😋

Ok WOW everything was so good. The cowtail peppersoup (spicy good, spicy you want to keep having more of even if it makes your eyes water a little bit), peanut butter stew, jolioff mit hahnchen. I hope this place retains the same flavor and taste and not succumb to blandness as is the case with some restaurants. The staff are also a vibe, accommodating and polite, although I think they need a lil more help cos it gets quite full. Food takes a bit longer to be prepared but it’s worth the wait. I’m so impressed.

Super friendly place with lovely people and good vibes! We tried the egusi soup and the fried fish and both were really nice! I didn’t realise the egusi soup had tripe in it so I was abit put off by that, maybe il order something else next time. Loved the plantain and everything else !

Barry has a really nice personality and the girls who work there are super nice. The food is incredibly tasty and totally worth the price. I recommend the peanut sauce me fufu.

Next Level hits the point - this restaurant really is next level! The food is a explosion of African flavors and cooked with a lot of love. Whether jollof rice, fufu or fish - everything was on point in terms of taste. The staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely my new favorite spot for African cuisine!

We went there without reservation, after a few minutes of waiting we were told by the waitress that the restaurant was a bit crowded, therefore she gave us two options, either walk around(it was raining) and come back in 20-30 minutes and she can reserve a large 4 people table for us now, or we could set in front of the bar. We decided to take the first option and walk around in the rain for 25 minutes. Then we returned to the restaurant met her impatient face and were told that we had to wait for another 50 minutes because there was no table for us. While we were talking we noticed they just arranged another new group of 3 people who were waiting in the restaurant setting at the large table. These are so-called next-level services. 🙄
