Meko Georgische Küche in Passau

Nur die georgische Küche selbst ist noch besser. Alles war so köstlich, dass wir uns einfach nicht entscheiden konnten. Sie kochen, als würden sie für sich selbst kochen, mit Herz und Seele. Vielen Dank! Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt.

Leider kann ich keine gute Bewertung abgeben. Die Holzkohlesuppe war mittelmäßig, die Chinkali waren Tiefkühlware. Kartenzahlung ist vor Ort nicht möglich, und es wird eine Gebühr von 10 % auf die Rechnung aufgeschlagen, vermutlich weil das Essen aufgewärmt wurde.

Authentische georgische Küche und ein sehr nettes und freundliches Ambiente. Hat mich etwas nostalgisch gemacht, danke dafür.

Köstliches Essen aus der Region, viel abwechslungsreicher als die lokale Küche.

Ein wunderbares georgisches Restaurant mit gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Die Gerichte sind köstlich und zeugen von der Qualität der Zutaten und der Liebe zum Detail. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die Chinkali – mit die leckersten, die ich je gegessen habe. Der dünne Teig, die reichhaltige, saftige und aromatische Füllung und die kräftige Brühe – einfach perfekt. Auch der schnelle und aufmerksame Service hat mir sehr gefallen. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder und kann dieses Restaurant allen Liebhabern der georgischen Küche wärmstens empfehlen!

ABZOCKE,BETRUG, AUFPASSEN!!!! Wir waren gestern in diesem Lokal essen. Das Essen war nicht schlecht,es ist alles nur aufgewärmt,da keine richtige Küche vorhanden. Beim Bezahlen haben wir 4,90 € auf der Rechnung als "Servicezuschlag" entdeckt. Was soll das eigentlich,das ist eigentlich Betrug??? Was ist der Servicezuschlag überhaupt,und warum haben wir 4.90€ extra bezahlt?? Das ist reine Abzocke!!!!!!!!!.Unbedingt die Rechnung vor dem Bezahlen kontrollieren!!!!!

Ein toller Ort mit superleckerem georgischem Essen. Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Preise sind im Vergleich zu anderen Restaurants in Passau erfreulich günstig – für diese hervorragende Qualität wirklich erschwinglich.

Ich bin generell eher schwer zu begeistern, wenn es um Gastronomie geht. Ich bin zufällig auf das MEKO gestoßen, was mich sehr erfreut hat, achdem ich mich vor zwei Jahren quer durchs Land gegessen habe. Ich kann also guten Gewissens behaupten, dass hier authentisch georgische Küche serviert wird. Besonders empfehlen kann ich die Bohnensuppe sowie die Khinkali mit Fleischfüllung - als Vegetarier findet man hier auch einiges auf der Karte. Der Service war super, man hat sich hier landestypisch sehr gut umsorgt gefühlt.

Ich bin zufällig auf dieses Lokal gestoßen, als ich in Passau nach regionaler deutscher Küche suchte. Es ist ein sehr charmantes und ruhiges Plätzchen. Die Gerichte sind authentisch und basieren auf hervorragenden Rezepten. Die Zutaten sind frisch und von bester Qualität. Ich hätte erwartet, dass dieses Restaurant schon viel bekannter ist. Auch die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich – besonders die Dame, die unsere Bestellung aufnahm. Ihre Sorgfalt und ihr herzliches Lächeln waren wirklich bezaubernd. Ich werde hier öfter vorbeischauen, und die Preise sind auch sehr angemessen. Einen Punkt habe ich beim „Ambiente“ abgezogen, weil ich erwartet hatte, dass traditionelle georgische Volksmusik gespielt wird – vielleicht haben sie sich aber dagegen entschieden, weil sie befürchteten, die Gäste könnten es als langweilig empfinden.

Familienrestaurant, sehr freundlich, guter Service und gutes Essen

Waren nun schon öfter dort. Das Essen ist mal was anderes als die typischen bekannten Geschmacksinseln aus Bayern, Italien und Südost Asien. Man merkt hier, dass mit viel Herz und Liebe gekocht wird. Wir haben uns mittlerweile einmal durch die Karte gearbeitet und fanden alles sehr gut. Besonders gut sind die Teigtaschen mit unterschiedlichen Füllungen. Einziger Kritikpunkt, so richtig gemütlich ist es im Restaurant nicht. So richtig sagen woran es liegt kann ich aber auch nicht.

Ich war nun schon zum zweiten Mal hier und bin absolut begeistert. Ich kann das Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen. Das Essen ist köstlich. Das Chatschapuri ist einfach fantastisch. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm und die Besitzer sind überaus höflich und freundlich.

Eine Schande für die georgische Küche! Wir waren mehrmals in Georgien und haben das richtige georgische Essen probieren dürfen. Zwei unterschiedliche Welten! 1.Khinkali hier ist eine reine Katastrophe! 2. Für was wird bitte Serviecegebühr verlangt? Für stinkende Menükarten? Für Kühlschränke hinter dem Rücken? Für Essen was in einem Durchgang zur Toilette zubereitet wird? Ich zahle gerne für tolles Essen und Service...hier aber war ich schockiert! Schade um das Geld...

Was für ein fantastischer Ort! Das Essen ist einfach himmlisch – authentische georgische Küche, alles köstlich, frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet. Besonders angetan waren wir vom Lula Kebab, Chatschapuri und Gulasch – einfach köstlich! Meine Frau und ich reisen extra 70 km aus Österreich an, nur um hier zu essen. Und jedes Mal sind wir aufs Neue überzeugt, dass es sich lohnt. Auch der exzellente Service ist hervorzuheben – die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Man fühlt sich wie bei Freunden. Das Restaurant hat eine sehr gemütliche, warme, fast familiäre Atmosphäre. Ein Ort, an den man immer wieder gerne zurückkehrt. Wir können es allen Liebhabern der slawischen und georgischen Küche wärmstens empfehlen!

Das Essen ist unglaublich lecker und die Portionen sehr großzügig, vor allem für einen guten Preis. Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Inneneinrichtung ist auch sehr schön und gemütlich.

Das Lokal ist klein und gemütlich mit einer angenehmen Atmosphäre. Es ist perfekt für Familien mit Kindern – man fühlt sich sofort wohl und entspannt. Wir bestellten Salat und Schaschlik – alles war saftig, aromatisch und köstlich. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Chatschapuri – es ist einfach fantastisch, unbedingt probieren!

Das Ambiente im kleinen aber feinen Restaurant ist hammer, die Bilder an der Wand, die Tische, die Stühle nehmen einen sofort mit auf eine Reise ausserhalb des Landes. Das Angebot ist vielfältig, selbst alkoholfreie Getränke gab es einige, die ich noch nie gesehen hatte aber sehr lecker waren. Der Service sowie das Essen waren sehr gut. Jede Speise die wir bestellt haben, war wirklich einzigartig und sehr lecker! Absolut zu empfehlen

Unglaublich lecker! Khinkali, Chatschapuri, Kharcho-Suppe, Satsivi – diese Gerichte haben mich sofort in meine Kindheit zurückversetzt. Der unverwechselbare Geschmack der georgischen Küche – eine lebendige Kombination aus Gewürzen, nussigen Noten, Schärfe und frischen Kräutern – harmoniert perfekt mit herzhaften Fleischgerichten, zartem Sulguni-Käse und aromatischem Gebäck. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!

We are absolutely thrilled! It's been a long time since we've eaten so well. As much as we love German cuisine, Georgian food is simply in a league of its own. The khachuk, the khinkali, the fresh salads, the chacha, and the coffee... it was a true feast! And on top of that, the incredibly friendly staff gave us a warm welcome. We felt completely at ease. Next time we're in Passau, we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

We've become regulars at this family-run restaurant because the food is delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are fair, and above all, everything is prepared with love. We especially appreciate that the dishes aren't overly salty or spicy – ​​everyone can adjust the seasoning to their own taste. The only thing that unpleasantly surprised us was the 10% service charge included in the bill. Especially since a tip is apparently also expected. As always, a fantastic culinary experience! We come here every time we're in Passau. It's a small, authentic, and cozy restaurant. The Georgian food is simply special – spicy, interesting, and very delicious. Kinkhali (dumplings), Tsibili salad, roasted eggplant with nut cream, eggplant stew, chicken with nut sauce – we've tried almost everything on the menu, and everything was superb.

An excellent Georgian restaurant! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy—warm and inviting, like visiting friends. The food is beyond praise: the shashlik is fresh, the khinkali are juicy, with a rich broth, and the spices are perfectly balanced. I'd especially like to highlight the presentation and quality of the ingredients—everything is authentic, without compromise.

The atmosphere was more like a fast-food joint. There was no way to get any help identifying the individual dishes. Sides, main courses, etc. So we just ordered whatever we wanted. Well, what we got was mostly overcooked meat skewers and bland side dishes. But it was really cheap.

The food was okay and the service was also okay, but I've eaten better in Passau.

We had lunch, and the portions were good and plentiful; I enjoyed the food. The owner and his wife make a lot of effort. The 10% service charge surprised me and is unusual here in Germany. I think the restaurant would do better without it. We expected bread to accompany the goulash soup and eggplant stew, but we found it on the bill. Therefore, only four points.

Unfortunately, it's very disappointing! This place doesn't deserve to be called a restaurant, as it doesn't have a proper kitchen, and almost all of the food is frozen and simply boiled in a pot or heated in the microwave. The price-performance ratio is completely unacceptable. All of the dishes I ordered tasted rather bland and unseasoned, such as the borscht, which I had to add salt and pepper, and the plov, which tasted far too dry and consisted only of rice and a few pieces of dry beef.

Amazing food on a quiet street in the middle of the Old Town. This great restaurant was a very nice break from spending too much money on mediocre food just because it was in a tourist area (happened way too often). But Meko was excellent food, served on cute Cafe tables, with really kind and friendly service. Our waitress was very patient with us, letting us order in English with the aid of Google translate and the well-photographed menu. This was our first time having Georgian food, and it was wonderful. Reminded me a bit of Indian and even Thai - mostly in the sense that the flavors were really complex (eg 5-10 herbs and spices in every bite). That complexity made the meal both delicious and fun as we tried to figure out exactly what was in each dish (without Google). Meatballs, a soup, and a rice entree were just over 20 euros combined. And tea was cheap! Finally in Germany, something other than milk was less expensive than alcohol or bottled water. We really enjoyed the meal and will be back on our next visit to Passau.

I can't say whether the food here is authentic, as I've unfortunately never been to Georgia - but that doesn't matter to me personally! What I can say: The food is very tasty. Simple Georgian dishes with good ingredients, very aromatic! Communication with the service was a bit difficult, but I still got what I wanted! ;) The location in a small alley is also very beautiful, with a view up to the cathedral. I consider the price/performance ratio to be very good - for this reason, and because it's a good alternative to the usual local cuisine, it's a 5-star overall! Note: The sodas are very high in sugar - for people like me who need to be careful. (I opted for water instead.)

I visited this restaurant specifically and was sadly disappointed. The service was very friendly – ​​high praise for that! – but the offerings are unfortunately difficult to describe as Georgian cuisine. I would describe it more as Soviet-influenced cuisine with Georgian overtones. Perhaps that, too, has its justification and a distinct audience – but: First, it misleads guests who have never tasted authentic Georgian cuisine. Second, the taste is unfortunately not convincing. The khinkali, which were supposed to be filled with beef, contained only a minimal amount of indefinable green filling – the meat was barely recognizable. The khachapuri were plain, with little cheese and no distinct flavor. The shashlik was overseasoned (significantly too salty) and lacked the typical Georgian spices. The vegetable salad was okay, but also lacked Georgian herbs or flavors. The "Olivier" salad, which I also tried – a classic in the post-Soviet world – had no meat or sausage and was rather bland in taste. The "Tarkhun" was just a green-colored lemonade flavored with Lithuanian flavoring – not a true tarragon drink. Only the Georgian wine, which we bought by the bottle and enjoyed at home, was truly delicious. In my opinion, it would be better to invest a little more but offer truly authentic flavors. I wish the team continued success – but the cuisine should be more in keeping with what you'd actually get served in Georgia.

This is not a restaurant, not even a cafe, an eatery. The food is terrible, the kebab is like rubber, they heat it up, not in the heat of the moment. I didn’t see anything Georgian. Disappointed. If you don’t want to spend money and ruin your mood, I absolutely don’t recommend it. The only thing that could be eaten and prepared was khachapuri. Khinkali is not about anything.

Small snack bar with hardly any space to sit, more to be taken away, but very nice owners and food homemade like at home, very tasty, really traditional and tastes what is most important. Very interesting change from everyday western food. If I'm ever in Passau, I'd love to eat there again.
