Unfortunately, it's declined significantly in all areas. There are always new people at the counter, the quality fluctuates, and I miss the friendliness of the past. The way they handle legitimate complaints is particularly bad. As a guest at a table, you get more friendly service, but the prices are very high by Herne standards. A small Coke costs €3, a doner kebab roll costs €7.50 to €8.50, and you won't get enough. Even the expensive plate meals aren't filling. So even we regulars don't like going there anymore. It's a shame.

The meal today, the grilled platter, was very good. I especially liked the new waiter (Sahin)♥️, who explained everything perfectly and even took a moment to talk to his guests. That's the personal touch and flavor that makes the stay very pleasant.

We were at your restaurant last night with visitors from Spain, and I've been going there for the last 10 years. Yesterday a waiter with a tattoo on his arms was very unfriendly and impolite. My wife asked for the menu book and she didn't get it. The way the waiters spoke was also very impolite. We got less than we ordered, and when I told the waiter he got angry, which wasn't very pleasant. I normally go to your restaurant when I have visitors from abroad, but the service was like yesterday; I don't think I'll ever come here again with visitors.

Much more than a fast food joint. You can sit comfortably and find a wide selection of Turkish dishes, including a "doner kebab to go" 😉

We went there for dinner in the evening. The waitresses were slow and kept serving the wrong tables. The food/my kebab plate consisted of more animal fat than meat, and it absolutely didn't taste good. The only nice thing was the outdoor seating.

I'm incredibly impressed with this place. We stumbled upon it by accident, and it was a perfect choice. As for the place: an automatically controlled roof, windows, modern decor, and a great atmosphere. The service: helpful, friendly, and smiling. Dishes: I ordered the spicy iskender. My taste buds were blown away. The meat was tender, the veal practically melted in my mouth. The spices were perfect. The bread underneath was incredible. Soft and crispy at the same time! The chef's presentation and the way it was poured over the hot bowl are impressive! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! The grilled kebab meat also looks delicious! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed going there. The food is delicious, but pretty standard. However, the service is top-notch; the two sisters are very attentive and friendly. A visit to Mehmet's is worth it for the service.

The doner meat is very well seasoned, but there are now too many pieces of fat that are difficult to chew. This ruins a good layered meat skewer.

Everything was amazing here! I ordered the Adana dürüm, it was super delicious, though a bit spicy for me (you can ask them to make it less spicy). I also didn’t realize it’s a cash-only place, and I didn’t have any cash with me. The gentleman kindly said it was okay and told me it was on them, which was incredibly generous. But I promised to come back the next business day to pay. I’ll definitely be back!

Today was the first time there and I have to say the prices are so expensive that an Adana normally costs 14€-15€, with them it costs 22€, Ayran which was so cold 2.30€, so if you want to get ripped off you should go there, we will never go there again and besides we did not eat everything, it did not taste good

Two of us were at MEHM.ET on a Friday evening shortly before 8 p.m. We ordered Dürüm Adana and an Adana kebab with the house's own ayran. The portions are good. The Adana is juicy and a bit spicier. The place is busy. Prices are normal at €17 for an Adana kebab. The service is very good. The food came quickly. There's plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the view. The decor is a bit odd and seems a bit thrown together. But if you don't let that put you off and are there for the food, you probably won't be disappointed. The selection of grilled specialties is extensive. I really enjoyed the house's own ayran. I'd definitely go back!

Nice shop with good kebabs. I bought a veal kebab here for €7.50. Apparently, they still serve genuine kebabs, not rotisserie-style kebabs. A rarity these days, especially at that price. The vegetables and bread were okay. Unfortunately, the sauces didn't appeal to me. There was really little flavor, both in the spicy sauce and the tzatziki version. Overall, the kebab is okay, and the atmosphere is very nice.

We ate there today. It was a disaster. No greeting from the staff, the tables outside had leftover food and weren't cleaned at all. We had to sit as they were. The food was brought with missing side dishes and was never replaced. The skewers were way too salty. Unfriendly staff, wouldn't recommend it, never again.

I was invited there for dinner. It was truly delicious, and the food was tasty. What I found negative was that the tables, empty plates, etc., weren't cleared in between meals, but only after payment.

10 of us went, 3 of us children unfortunately had diarrhea, my daughter, who is 4 years old, both vomited and had diarrhea.

The shop is easily accessible on a main road. Parking is available. The restaurant is inviting and nicely decorated. The menu is extensive. Unfortunately, the kebab was only average. The portion size was manageable for the price – €7, after all. I just felt it was missing that special something. The taste was rather bland, without really being memorable. I had hoped for more. Even though it wasn't busy, my ordered Coke was forgotten. This could definitely be improved. Perhaps the grilled dishes are better?!

I was really pleasantly surprised! The food in the restaurant was simply delicious – fresh, perfectly seasoned and lovingly prepared. The Adana skewer and the homemade lentil soup were particularly enjoyable. The sweet dishes were also very tasty. The service was warm and attentive, you immediately felt at home. Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. Although we wanted to eat together, the dishes came to the table at different times, sometimes at a considerable distance. This disrupted rather than enriched our visit to a restaurant together. When you go out to eat together, you expect to eat at the same time. Another point of criticism: the boss himself smoked inside. This is not only prohibited by law, but also extremely unpleasant for guests who simply want to have a nice evening, especially since the smell also affects the taste experience. Overall, the atmosphere was unfortunately not particularly inviting due to these two points.

I have never eaten a worse kebab with veal. The taste was okay, but the meat was subpar. It was so dry and tough. The bread was also probably ancient. Added to this is the price, which is disproportionate.

It's unbelievable what happened to us the day before yesterday on Thursday. Arrived there at 5:30 p.m. and wanted to eat something there. The restaurant was empty except for 3 tables where people were eating and Iftar had not yet started for the Muslims! An older employee came running up to us and asked if we had reserved... No, we didn't! So we were stupidly expelled from the restaurant and bye... 0 understanding for such behavior! There would still have been time until Iftar…… if you no longer need it then ciao! I was a regular for the longest time!!! I know Turkish friendliness differently!

Absolutely not recommended. The only good thing is the beautiful ambience. But I won't spend another €70 on that. 3 people with 3 different dishes: all dishes DISASTER! Never had such a bad meal, sorry. It just barely tasted good. In addition, people should definitely choose something from the İftar menu. Sorry, but there are also vegetarians. In my opinion, the best kebab in Herne is here. Currently €7.50 for the veal kebab and €6.50 for the chicken kebab, fresh ingredients and no run-of-the-mill kebab bread.

Very good veal kebab, no minced meat. The bread is freshly baked. The sauces and salads are also great. The portion could be a little bigger, but whatever... It was tasty. 7.50 euros are fine for this. Highly recommended!!!!

I have been to countless kebab shops in Germany and I have never seen a kebab shop that is as indifferent and cooks dirty food as these. First of all, they are very sullen. People can be kind and polite to a customer. Apparently, they do not understand this business, that is, tradesmanship. People greet their customers with a kind, polite and smiling face. I went to this restaurant today and I'm really disappointed. I ordered number 60, a “vegan bag.” While eating I noticed that there was tzatziki, a non-vegan product, in it. When I asked the staff about it, I was told that I should have said I didn't want tzatziki. This is unacceptable! If a dish is advertised as vegan, it must not contain any animal products. It's clear that the operators don't know what vegan means, even though they have it on their menu. What was worse was that no insight was shown. The restaurant is absolutely not recommended for vegans or people with special dietary needs. It seems as if people are acting here without knowledge and without consideration. Unfortunately not a good experience!

After I paid €12 for a handful of chicken with a soggy salad today, I had a stomach bug for the rest of the day 😒 Never again.

I was there on Saturday around 4pm and I didn't have to make a reservation but after that the place was full. I called ahead and the employee was very polite and answered my questions. I told him that I was inviting someone and that we were coming from Duisburg, he said we would try hard. They did that too! There were two of us and we ordered a mixed grill plate for two people. The meat was very tasty. The lamb and cutlets were particularly soft and not al dente, even though we ate slowly and the meat was a bit cold. This means that the lamb is of good quality and has been grilled carefully. Salad and chips were also very good, although they don't usually pay special attention to the side dishes. The food quality is good. The staff and the two waitresses were very nice, friendly and respectful. The bread was cold and it could be better. The chicken wings weren't particularly tasty. The food is very good, the location and the ambience are great. There are enough parking spaces, seats are just right in summer. However, orders are often simply forgotten and not served at all. Orders are also staggered instead of all being brought at once, hence only 4/5 stars, a shame!

We actually wanted to go to Burger King and were on the way from Recklinghausen to Essen. Then we found the restaurant from across the street and went there. We were welcomed very nicely. We got a seat outside. The food was ready very quickly. Great portions and very tasty. It wasn't the last time we were there.

The food was very tasty, but the lady on staff was very strange and questionable. Things were forgotten, you were ignored and she was by no means friendly. We will never come back just because of the lady, you don't feel welcome.

Memet is a place that I have been going to for a long time and I find its taste amazing, but for the last month, especially the service and food have been sloppy, today we left once again dissatisfied, the presentation of the grill menu on the white breakfast plate was not nice at all and the treats were reduced, even the roasted peppers were half served to the staff. I asked why, but when I gave them pepper, I was surprised that it was going to waste. Not even roasted tomatoes were given. I want lavash bread. I get asked how many. The service was opened for 3 people. I guess bread cannot be given to the table in number. We only received lavash for 3 people. We asked for kunefe. We got up before eating it. It was too thick, the cheese in the dough had not melted, and the sherbet was low. The smell of oil was dominant in the food, because it was thick, the künefe had absorbed oil. The appetizer and grill plate we ordered was ok, but didn't match the price. Unfortunately, a drink order was only taken at the beginning, after which we were ignored by the service. There were only a few tables occupied and the staff looked bored. At the checkout it was no longer clear to the staff what we had and we had to tell them our order again. No card payment possible, the cash register was only entered when I looked critically at the pad with handwriting.

Great kebab, everything homemade, meat juicy so no sauce is needed. Service top, Çay is brought and is on the house. The European Football Championship is on the TV, the staff is courteous. You simply can't complain if you like quality - the best kebab in the area.

Unfortunately, we don't know anything about allergens. There are no clues on the map either. Just say that you don't know what gluten-free is and take the card straight out of your hand and you're done. Then you're the only one in the group sitting there without food.
