What really ruined my mood was a request for payment from a parking attendant company, who wanted €47.50 for allegedly parking in McDonald's parking lot without a parking disc while we were eating there. :-( We probably won't be visiting this McDonald's again.

On July 10, 2025, at approximately 12:30 AM, I placed an order via the app (coupon "Choice of 2 classics with large sides"). I selected drive-thru pickup at this branch. I gave my code at the counter and was asked to drive up. Since there were other vehicles in front of me and I had to wait quite a while, I reached the payment counter around 1:00 AM, where, interestingly, I was asked what I had ordered. Re-entering my code didn't help the employee there, who said my order was out of the system. I tried to generate a new code in my app, but the app then told me the restaurant was closed, so I could no longer access the order code. The employee wanted to sell me a Smart Meal as an alternative (for which I would have had to pay). I declined, pointing out that the amount of my order was already booked in my PayPal account. He then informed me that McDonald's would automatically transfer the money back because the order hadn't been completed. I then left the McDonald's Drive-Thru. The following day, PayPal debited the amount from my checking account, and I still haven't received a refund to this day. According to the franchisee, he "hasn't received any payment from me" and therefore can't help me. This is a rip-off and blatant lies at the drive-thru. I have receipts and witnesses. This behavior constitutes a failure to provide service despite payment! Orders should definitely not be placed there one hour before closing time; otherwise, the money will be gone, but you'll still be hungry...

My visit to this McDonald's in Darmstadt today was unfortunately disappointing. Upon entering, my son noticed that the floor in the men's restroom was very sticky – an unpleasant first impression. The order we had placed at the terminal (for three people) took an unusually long time to arrive: a full 17 minutes, even though there were hardly any customers in the restaurant (maximum 10) and the drive-thru wasn't very busy. Several other customers also waited a very long time. When our food finally arrived after almost 20 minutes, my shake was initially missing. A direct complaint to the server was unsuccessful, as she was already on her way back behind the counter. I was then given the shake at the counter, but without any apology. Shortly afterward, I realized that my nuggets were also missing – although they were brought later, the entire experience was very untypical for a fast food restaurant. The response to my inquiry about the long wait ("The order had to be prepared in the kitchen first") seemed unconvincing. The food itself tasted okay, but my son complained about a very watered-down Coke. Conclusion: McDonald's is known for quick and easy meals – that wasn't the case here. Long wait times, missing products, and poor hygiene in the restroom unfortunately don't allow for a good overall rating. The staff seemed overwhelmed, even though it wasn't busy.

Used to be one of my favorite McDonald's. After my last visit, I promised myself I'd never go back! It was the dirtiest McDonald's I've ever seen. Leftover food under the tables and chairs. Tables that weren't cleaned. A case for Günter Wallraff, really. Too bad, because it used to be a really good restaurant! Update: I was there a week ago! Unfortunately, it's still a very dirty McDonald's!

Absolute shitty place. At 11:47 PM, a Big Mac meal and a McRib were ordered via the app with table service!!! At 12:11 AM!!!!! A bald African-American man yelled at the table number I was sitting at. Okay, it wasn't the table service I selected in the app, but whatever, we don't want to be like that! My food was in a bag and without a tray. I had chosen to EAT HERE IN THE RESTAURANT, and that wasn't really a problem. Back at the table, I unpacked it. It was the wrong Big Mac! Not a classic, but a Chicken Big Mac, and sorry, I'd tried that a few days ago, but I didn't like it at all!!! The guy was really grumpy again, took the burger out of my hand and gave me another one. Okay, from here on, my heart rate slowly increased a bit. Then I'll see another disgusting CHICKEN Big Mac!!!! Okay, I explained to the employee again that I wanted a regular beef burger. "They don't have that at the moment!" he said in his typically unfriendly manner!! When I then told him that it would then be blocked in the app and I couldn't order it at all, he simply left me standing there and went behind to the kitchen area to avoid escalating the situation. I took a deep breath and went back to my table. I wasn't sitting properly, the lights went out, and immediately another employee came up to me and said, "I have to go now, they're closed!!" SO!! First of all! I ordered at 11:47 PM and waited almost 20 minutes for my food!!!!!! I would have been finished by midnight if I had gotten it right away. Besides, McDonald's is open until 2:00 AM!!! Okay, just the McDrive, but that doesn't mean they lock up and go home at midnight!!! Besides, the app should then allow for table service and eating in the restaurant. 10 minutes before closing time, it's no longer possible!.....at the latest, my patience was at an end, and I made it clear that I would eat it HERE. Then this employee also got grumpy and started addressing me in his broken German (I'm guessing Indian or Pakistani origin). In order not to completely freak out, I left before I could really get started with these two prime examples of friendly customer service, but the other older German customer, around mid-50s, whom he then also wanted to throw out, took care of that. He got really loud when I left, but he finished eating in there. I ate in my car, and he still hadn't come out by the time I was finished and left. SUMMARY: Absolute disaster, never again from this branch, and the owner should sensitize the staff on how to deal with customers who bring the money that pays their salaries into the branch. I arrived at around 9:03 a.m. and waited at the checkout for about four minutes, but no one came to help me. Afterward, I went to the self-checkout, signed a receipt, and returned to the regular checkout. I politely asked when I would be served, but was simply told to go to the cashier with the receipt. I've never had to wait so long for my food in a McDonald's. I ordered from a terminal at 1:10 p.m. A Mc Menu and a Happy Meal. There wasn't a lot of walk-in customers wanting to take their food away, but there were a few people sitting and waiting for their food. My food came at 1:35 p.m. For such a small order and what I perceive to be low traffic, that's really too long for a fast-food restaurant. At least 4 employees were working behind the counter, which I could clearly observe. When we got our food, I noticed that the toy my son ordered was missing. When I asked kindly if we could get another toy, some toy was simply slapped on the counter. The salad I ordered was very bland and the tomato and cucumber slices were clearly too big to eat with just the fork provided. To me it felt a bit like it was a thrown together thing. All in all, a very unsatisfying experience that I'm not used to from McDonald's. We're definitely not coming back.

Good day, I would like to file a complaint regarding a recent order from your restaurant. There were several issues that, in my opinion, do not meet McDonald's quality standards. First of all the fries were cold. I went back to exchange them but the new ones were cold again. It wasn't until the third time that they were freshly prepared and finally OK. I also ordered three cheeseburgers, which unfortunately were incomplete. Each burger only had one slice of cucumber, although the standard says there should be at least two slices. In addition, there was almost no onion - the amount was a maximum of 0.01 grams, so it was hardly noticeable. This is my first Google review, but after the shocking treatment I received on 3/2/25, I feel compelled to do so. After a long day and travel, I went to this McDonald's with my boyfriend and a friend for a quick bite to eat. We were tired and ordered at the order terminal. My friend wanted a McFlurry with Smarties, but the terminal only showed the plain version. I was distracted and thought he took it anyway. Additionally, the terminal did not print our order ticket. Later, my friend saw that other guests had a McFlurry with Smarties and asked me to ask when picking up the food. At the checkout I explained to the employee that we had chosen the wrong option and wanted the Smarties-McFlurry. She seemed helpful at first, but then realized that the McFlurry wasn't even on our order (my friend had changed his mind). Instead of remaining objective, she began to ridicule me in front of her colleague and imply that I was lying. When I calmly explained to her that it was a misunderstanding and that I was willing to pay, she became loud and accused me of deliberately lying to get the McFlurry for free. I tried to explain to her that it would be absurd to order two menus for €12 each and then cheat for €3, but she continued to yell at me in front of other customers. I ended up leaving the store without the McFlurry and feeling bad. I am an honest person and I don't like to be portrayed as a fraud for no reason. I hope a manager checks this behavior. Maybe the employee had bad experiences with other customers, but you can't treat people that way - especially when they apologize and want to pay. Sad and completely unprofessional.

Hello This evening I visited the McDonalds in Darmstadt at gräfenhäuserstrasse 89. I'm really not someone who is easily shocked, but that was the worst visit to a branch I've ever experienced. Unfortunately I can't upload a photo file here. In plain English, this branch is the very last one. The hygienic conditions are a disaster. Garbage on the floor and tables is endless. Fries on the floor across the restaurant The bad thing is that no one cares. Instead, a small, southern-looking young gentleman sets the tone very loudly and insults the customers behind the counter if they don't pick up their food, order or complain about something at his whistle. On top of that, his colleagues were insulted with several swear words in different languages. Guests also notice things like that. And last but not least, the homeless, heavily drunk guests sleeping in the restaurant and nothing was done or after a very long time the young man tried with a colleague. In my many work-related visits to various fast food restaurants, I have never seen such disgusting toilets anywhere. This was my third time there and it just keeps getting worse! I definitely get my coffee somewhere else. I can't get the smell out of my nose anymore. This is probably not the smell of urine from a single forgotten toilet cleaning, but rather the smell of urine from the last few weeks and months. The toilet floor was so sticky that every step to the ordering counter squeaked.

The older gentleman with short hair deserved a promotion and ended up running the shop alone. When will McDonald’s Germany put things in order here? It's been a while since I decided to visit a McDonald's restaurant again. Unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed: it was an absolutely disappointing experience. I ordered a Big Rösti and I explicitly stated that it should be prepared without onions and bacon. According to the sticker on the packaging, this was also correctly entered into the cash register. However, when I got home and opened the packaging, I was horrified to see that a burger had simply been removed from the display and it neither met my specifications nor appeared fresh. Instead, I had a big hash brown with onions and bacon in my hand - exactly what I had explicitly refused. The restaurant itself left a shockingly bad impression. Not only was everything smeared, but the windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The entrance door was covered with countless fingerprints, which massively worsened the overall hygienic impression. Disgusting is putting it mildly. Such a situation is simply unsustainable, especially for a company with such a big name. The staff didn't exactly contribute to a positive impression either. The employees' clothing appeared dingy and unkempt, which further reinforced the image of poor cleanliness. In addition, there is a noticeable unfriendliness that spoils any desire to visit again. Communication is essential in a restaurant business, but here it seems to be completely irrelevant. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was also a mess. There was rubbish everywhere, especially empty McDonald's packaging. It seemed like no one cared about keeping the area clean. This is not only unpleasant for the guests, but also damages the company's image. The waiting time was an absolute disgrace for a so-called “fast food” restaurant. I had to wait a whole ten minutes to get the wrong product. This problem is consistent – whether you order in a restaurant or use the drive-thru, the waiting times are disproportionately long. An employee once mentioned that staff savings are being made here and that there are only enough people on site when inspections have been announced. If true, it speaks volumes about the priorities of this location. Overall, I feel like this restaurant represents a real problem for the McDonald’s brand. It doesn't match the image conveyed in the advertising in any way. Instead of being welcoming, clean and customer-focused, this location presents itself as the exact opposite. One thing is certain for me: I will give this McDonald's restaurant a wide berth in the future and prefer to choose the competition - Burger King will be my new port of call.

I visited the branch several times and every time it was the same: long waiting times and chaotic processes. From a fast food restaurant I expect the order to be ready within a few minutes. Instead, it feels like you're standing in a poorly organized diner where neither efficiency nor customer service is taken seriously. The food itself is another point that leaves a lot to be desired. Everything I've ordered so far has only been lukewarm. Things used to be different: the dishes were served hot, freshly prepared and of a quality that you would at least expect from McDonald's. Today that no longer seems to be the case. Lukewarm food that loses its flavor is not acceptable - especially not at the prices charged here. The hygienic conditions in this branch are a real problem. No matter where you look: everything looks smudged and unkempt. The windows and the glass door are particularly bad, as they are so dirty that you lose your appetite. This not only seems unkempt, but downright disgusting. When I went to the toilet, my impression was reinforced: Everything here was dirty and unhygienic. There was paper on the floor, the sinks were dirty, and the general smell was unpleasant. These conditions are completely unacceptable for a restaurant that is visited by many people every day. The outdoor area doesn't make a better impression either. There is trash everywhere and it seems like no one cares about keeping the area in an attractive condition. The entrance area is often littered, which doesn't leave a good first impression. When you go to a restaurant you expect at least a clean and inviting entrance - but here the opposite is the case. Another problem is the language barriers that regularly arise when ordering. The staff's knowledge of German is not sufficient, so I have been forced to place my order in English several times. Of course, speaking English is not a problem, but from a restaurant in Germany you should expect the staff to have at least the basic language skills to take an order correctly. These language problems regularly lead to errors in orders, making the entire visit even more frustrating. The way employees dress also does not help to leave a positive impression. It is often dirty and unkempt, which looks anything but professional. If the staff themselves seem unkempt, you wonder what the kitchen and other areas that you as a guest cannot see look like. This doesn't exactly ensure trust in the quality and hygiene of the food. Overall, I can't recommend this branch to anyone. The conditions are catastrophic, both in terms of hygiene and organization. The wait times are far too long, the food is mediocre at best, and the overall impression is just disappointing. I will avoid this restaurant in the future. McDonald's should urgently (!) carry out unannounced inspections in order to remedy these grievances. Until that happens, this branch remains a no-go.

Place an order at the drive-thru and thought you couldn't go wrong with two things. Wrong thought. Order is: 1 cheeseburger without cucumber and a medium fries, I got a cheeseburger with cucumber and a large fries.
