McDonald's in Darmstadt

I've had nothing but bad experiences with this branch! Only the drive-thru is open until the stated closing time; the dining area is closed. The staff takes 10 minutes to take our order and makes us wait far too long. Two burgers were missing from our order, and unfortunately, we only noticed this while eating. After the staff took several minutes to even understand our problem, we were disappointed. Despite having the receipt and showing the bags, we received no refund and were accused of lying to the staff—very professional! I recommend that the branch manager reconsider their staffing choices. Incident on January 5, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Terribly dirty, scary to go into the toilet, the staff acts like you owe them, I don't recommend this dump to anyone...

Disaster! Waited 10 minutes at the drive-thru, they babbled on almost intelligibly, there was nothing going on, after 10 minutes another person on the microphone: "I've got you in your seat. You have to wait." I drove off. A service wasteland! The franchisee won't like this. I'm never going back here.

We ordered through Lieferando, but the order was processed and we were charged twice. We subsequently tried several times to contact them or cancel the order, but unfortunately, we couldn't reach anyone.

Unfortunately, the place is completely overwhelmed. After 12 minutes, I go to the register and ask about my food, and the woman is totally bewildered. It felt like she was telling me I was already halfway through the wait. Somewhat annoyed (is that the right way to say it?), because I didn't want to accept that Lieferando was taking priority, she then went into the kitchen and got my food. Thank you for that. Otherwise, the food was the usual standard.

We arrived at 12:50 AM and there was a car ahead of us at the drive-thru, but the driver wasn't being served. We wondered if they were even open. Eventually, they were called, and we were told to wait a moment. It took five minutes before we could order. We noticed they weren't stressed at all, just probably understaffed. One employee was at the drive-thru, we saw another eating, and someone was cleaning. It was our first time there, and I have to say I've never seen such a terrible McDonald's. Inside, everything was chaotic, boxes were lying on the floor, and open drinks were everywhere. Overall, it was very unhygienic (unfortunately, after we had already ordered). The order wasn't correct; a burger was missing. And finally, when we received our food, even though there was only one car ahead of us, it was 1:24 AM. Excuse me, 30 minutes for two orders?! Something's not right. I immediately checked the reviews afterward and only then realized we weren't the only ones with this problem. Is this branch closing or is the staff changing? Apparently, a lot of things aren't right there.

Mostly incorrect orders or items were missing, so please always check your bags for completeness (at the McDonald's drive-thru). Very long wait times.

Long waiting times and poor service.

Awful! 18 minutes after ordering, the food still wasn't ready. After I went and complained, it was fixed immediately. And I wasn't the only one who had this experience that day! When my daughter then ordered a McChicken, the same thing happened again—12 minutes later, the staff still hadn't been able to prepare it! To top it all off, the McChicken arrived empty because they were out of sauce and toppings! I absolutely do not recommend this place!

They mark the order as "ready for pickup" and only then begin preparation.

I ordered takeaway food. The employee (blonde hair) didn't call my number, she just put the food down. She didn't say anything about whether my order was ready. She just rolled her eyes. I took the packages, and then when I got home, I realized two drinks were missing. This was at 2:10 PM on December 17th. Unfriendly staff, poor service. Never again! I absolutely do not recommend them.

I wasn't served at the drive-thru. The floor in the restaurant was sticky. The burgers were soggy and sloppily prepared, and the service was unfriendly. It can be done much better, as other branches (and this one a few years ago) have shown.

The worst part, however, is that kitchen staff eat ingredients like lettuce and tomatoes without gloves or washing their hands, and then continue preparing food for guests. This poses a serious health risk. When I tried to point out these problems with good intentions, I was yelled at by someone who appeared to be a shift supervisor or manager, instead of them taking the issue seriously. I absolutely cannot recommend eating here. I will advise my friends and family to avoid this restaurant and leave an honest review, because this establishment doesn't even deserve its current rating of 2.8 ⭐️.

I've been there a few times. Recently (about two months ago), I had to wait a long time, and the McFlurry wasn't the best. There was this older man who had to wait a long time, and when he finally got his food, he was angry. Something didn't suit him, so he called an employee an "idiot" and left.

They deserve zero stars. I was accused of paying with a 50 Euro note, the police were called – an extremely embarrassing situation for my little nephew. At the police station, it turned out the note was genuine, and they suspect the machine is completely outdated. I personally contacted the head office in Munich, but they kept telling me the franchise partner would get in touch. To date, there has been no apology, nothing. It's a catastrophically managed establishment. Apparently, McDonald's couldn't care less about how customers feel; it's all about ripping people off with no service and terrible food.

Pre-ordered food, found a useless waiter! Waited 15 minutes. Reordered. Waited another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. And in the end, it was all still cold…eating McDonald's is always a mistake.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the food very good, and some of it was cold. We had three double cheeseburgers, two of which were cold and one was hot. The children's meal had almost no fries, and the rib-eye had hardly any sauce. Very disappointing for almost €30.

The opening time is listed as 2:00 AM. It doesn't say that only the drive-thru is open until 2:00 AM. You're not allowed in; you have to queue behind the cars at the drive-thru and are left standing outside in the cold like a dog. Does the owner know about this? I don't know, but it should be said. Worst place ever! Something's ALWAYS missing. You only notice it when you get home 🙄 When you call, they say "you left too quickly." Yeah, right, I left too quickly when they bring the food to your car...

AVOID THIS BRANCH LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! The staff here make mistakes with EVERY order. If you go in person, items are missing from your order. If you order through Lieferando, you wait HOURS for confirmation that orders aren't being accepted, even though the order has already been placed. If you try to use the drive-thru, you're better off believing in fairy tales; they're more likely to become reality. They don't speak to you and just leave you waiting. And if you're lucky enough to get an order, you can be sure it will be stale food that's warmer than the Antarctica. The building itself is beyond discussion. The main entrance door has been broken for a year and is blocked with a chair. It's much better to drive to the branch in Pfungstadt.

Unfortunately, the store is severely understaffed. They're cutting corners on personnel! Store manager, please hire more people; the waiting times are extremely long.

The restaurant is okay overall. It really depends on who's working; sometimes it's very dirty. The McDrive should really be called McSlowDrive. You wait forever to order and then get your food. Then my food was given to another car because the employees weren't checking the receipts. I'm also disappointed with McCafé: I got some cookies and they were completely hard and burnt. It's outrageous that they even serve that to customers.

The slowest McDonald's on the planet. The wait time at the Drive-Thru is like that at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but the food doesn't benefit from this.

Today I waited over 20 minutes at the McDrive again, even though there was only one car in front of me in line. You just want to grab something quickly because you're in a hurry, and then this happens... Please get your time management skills right. If I want to wait that long, I'll go to a restaurant; the food quality is much better there.

Since we always order via smartphone, we prefer McDonald's restaurants with table service – it makes it really convenient and hassle-free. The unfriendliest and rudest staff ever! The worst McDonald's I've ever seen in my life. Unhygienic, dirty, sticky, everything there is truly disgusting. The staff also leaves a lot to be desired. They don't understand a word of German and act like liars. The oldest McDonald's in the Darmstadt area. From the outside, it looks run-down, but inside, the floor is sticky. Everything is dingy and dirty. The worst of it, however, is the staff. They barely speak German and are barely understood on the intercom in the drive-thru. Because I didn't wait there after ordering and the unintelligible mumbling of the waitress, but drove up to the counter, the (Pakistani?) lady barked at me and unduly lectured me about my misconduct. I then got out and went into the restaurant. There, as described above, I was stuck to the floor and briefly explained to the lady how to behave towards customers. As a loyal McDonald's customer, something like this has never happened to me before. If I can avoid it, I won't order anything from here again...

Long waiting times for cold food

Sticky chairs, leftover food on the tables, no tray cleaning, disgusting toilets, unfriendly franchisee, no food served after more than 30 minutes, no refund after complaining. What a mess

It feels like something's missing every time, and you have to check for it yourself. When you ask them about forgotten items, they pretend it's not the case. Even worse when ordering. (Lieferando saved it, though, with their customer-focused approach.) They're also pretty unfriendly on the phone. You could say it's "just" McDonald's, but given their size and turnover, that should be fine. Unfortunately, service depends on good staff.

Sunday, shortly after 10:00 at the McDrive: one moment please! That moment lasted five minutes! To clarify, there were no cars in front of us, and the restaurant was completely empty! I was at this branch on September 18, 2025, around 12 p.m. I ordered a strawberry milkshake, which I received after about 10 minutes. However, when I tasted it, it tasted strongly of coffee. When I looked inside the cup, I could clearly see a lot of coffee syrup. Since I don't like coffee, this was very unpleasant for me – if I order a strawberry milkshake, I want a strawberry milkshake, not one that tastes like coffee. I politely complained and explained that I didn't like it. The employee's reaction, however, was very unfriendly. He simply said, "Yes, that's just how it is, there's always a little syrup on it." When I pointed out that other branches can easily do without it, my only response was, "Yes, but here it is." Afterward, they returned my money, but the shake was rudely taken from my hand, and I was given 2 euros without any comment. I think that's a real shame, because the ambiance is modern, the restrooms are clean, and the store actually makes a good visual impression. But this kind of treatment of customers is unacceptable to me. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend this branch.

Disrespectful behavior, unfriendly service, and all of this in front of my children. I wanted to order milkshakes, which are even currently on sale with coupons. And of course, as always, the ice cream machine is broken. I ask with a smile, because it's always broken, whether it couldn't be repaired or even replaced. The employee yells at me, brazenly and loudly, that I was just out of luck. It was very difficult for me to control myself because she was screaming so disrespectfully and puffing herself up in front of my children. This is completely unacceptable, and this isn't the first time I've been mistreated or given bad "food" at this store.

Long waiting time and very dirty

Once again, I'm disappointed by this McDonald's. I got two meals for €25. I arrive home, and I live a two-minute walk from McDonald's. The inedible, dry sandwiches, cooked at least an hour in advance, and the appalling fries. My girlfriend and I aren't feeling well! I hope we don't have to go to the hospital! The order wasn't delivered as stated on the order. It was also very lacking and had been made incorrectly. The employee became very rude and simply hung up. Then I called back and asked for the manager, and they simply hung up again. The order was placed last Sunday evening.

I've been standing in the drive-thru for 20 minutes, and it's like this every time. Also, everyone working there seems completely overwhelmed, except for two who mostly work nights. And often, items from the order are missing or not prepared properly (I got cold fries).

It's McDonald's, so the food is as expected. That's okay. But The wait is endless. Their own ordering system is tampered with (orders are marked as ready and picked up, even though they're not ready), and then the customer is left standing for 30 minutes without any information. As a result, parts of the order are only lukewarm, as the bags, partially filled, sit open for 20+ minutes. Employees don't wear hairnets or anything similar, even in the kitchen, and questions are completely ignored. It's better to drive to the McDonald's on the other side of town while you wait; you'll get your food faster.

It was terrible, we weren't served, and no one felt responsible. There were just a few people frantically running around preparing food for the three or four people. Never again at McDonald's...

The good thing about this McDonald’s is that they usually serve what you order.

The wait time is simply unacceptable. By the time I'm waiting to even get to my place (drive-thru), I've already driven to the nearest kebab shop and then home. 10-15 for ONE cheeseburger? So it's no longer fast, and no longer good value, and it's also incredibly unhealthy. Why should anyone even go there?

Unfortunately, I've had repeated negative experiences with this McDonald's. The service is often slow, the friendliness of the employees leaves much to be desired, and the hamburgers are often poorly tossed and cold. I wish they could improve this situation, whether through training for the team or other measures.

We visited this McDonald's restaurant today and were unfortunately extremely dissatisfied. First of all, the women's restroom door was missing. A year ago, I used to go here every now and then because it was the better McDonald's (in my opinion) in Darmstadt. That's no longer the case! The entire staff is completely overwhelmed. I can probably understand this when it's busy, but every time I've been there, there have been hardly any customers. Waiting times are 30 minutes or more, and the food is cold and inedible. The restrooms are a disgrace! Simply disgusting and absolutely nerve-wracking. Even with these wait times, it has nothing to do with "fast" food.

I've been waiting forever! What a nerve!

I was a DJ at this venue and unfortunately my laptop was stolen before I could pack up. This was a huge loss for me. What disappointed me the most was that the parking camera was not working and there was no help available. I would like to warn other guests and organizers to be very careful with their belongings. It is truly unfortunate that something like this happened at this venue.

It was an absolute disaster today at 6 p.m.: I waited almost 40 minutes for my food. The staff was completely uncoordinated and unfriendly. After 20 minutes, all orders suddenly showed as ready on the display, even though they weren't ready yet. Apparently to delete them from the system. Then another 20 minutes of waiting. My burger and nuggets sat on the tray for almost 10 minutes because they were still missing fries. As a result, the food was only lukewarm. Then the order was also incorrect: first the wrong sauce and then the wrong burger. The complaint then took another 10 minutes. An absolute no-go was when another customer complained about her burger. The employee took it, touched it, looked at it, and put the complained burger back in the display instead of throwing it away. I can't say whether it was ever served again. Trays weren't cleared away, so they piled up on the adjacent tables and on the floor. There was trash everywhere, and the restrooms were dirty. Avoid this store if possible. The only positive aspect is that they recently added an EWE Go charging station in the parking lot.

Sanitary conditions are abysmal! Beginning of August 2025: One of the women's restrooms was filthy from top to bottom with feces, the liquid was pouring out, the other had no door. Please? No door? When I complained to the staff and restaurant management, they just rolled their eyes in annoyance, saying a door had been ordered. We didn't eat there. Unacceptable!!! I recommend a visit to the health department. I'll refrain from taking any photos at this point.

Ordered with an estimated wait time of 45 minutes. After almost 100 minutes, the order was canceled. Previously, the expected delivery time was repeatedly extended by 10-15 minutes.

An absolutely disappointing experience – poor service, no organization, and a completely inappropriate tone. One of the worst McDonald's branches around.

Was a horrible experience. I waited 1 hour for a big mac. There was just few workers and they were all very slow. I dont know what they are doing but only a order was coming in a half hour. They were working very slow and bad. Just some workers fed up with everything and some angry, regretful customers.

We waited 50 minutes for our food. Everyone who ordered takeout was given priority. In the end, they placed three bottles of apple spritzer in front of us without asking, saying "the carbonation was suddenly empty," even though we had ordered almost an hour ago, when everything was still in stock.
