Freezing cold. The heating doesn't work when it's -5°C outside. No music, just constant beeping. They don't want to make customers happy here, they just want to get rid of them quickly.

We bought food at McDonald's, but the restroom still cost extra. The condition was as shown in the photo – unfortunately, very unhygienic. This is absolutely disappointing and unacceptable for paying customers.

Worst McDonald’s experience of my life. No organization at all and absolutely no customer service. To make matters worse, none of the staff speaks English, which is completely unacceptable given the location. Normally, restrooms are accessible when you make a purchase. Here, we waited a long time to get the restroom access badge… and never received it. We eventually gave up. The manager was rude and dismissive. One of the crew members asked her to give us the restroom badge, and she clearly didn’t care at all. We finally left and went to KFC, where the service was much better and the restrooms were clean, free, and easily accessible without any hassle. Avoid this place.

Often, people eat first and then go to the restroom. But it costs a euro to use the toilet. You can, of course, redeem the voucher, but that doesn't help after you've eaten. Vouchers from other rest stops can be redeemed at any branch. That's fine. But unfortunately, that's not possible here, and disappointed customers leave them lying around everywhere. This isn't customer-friendly; it's unfair. The restrooms and tables should also be cleaned more often.

The app order was incomplete and also incorrect.

Unfriendly staff. My wife uses a wheelchair and wanted to use the accessible toilet, but I was simply ignored by two employees. The third had to ask around for the key. Reluctantly, and with a lot of foreign language babbling, it was finally opened after many minutes. The toilet was also very dirty. We had to wait a long time for our latte macchiato.

Complete chaos, an incredibly long wait of over 25 minutes. Incorrect delivery and toilets that even customers have to pay for. Avoid!

Typical McDonald's, but unfortunately not fast food. On our last visit, we waited 40 minutes for our food (two burgers and two chicken nuggets)... everyone else around us was also waiting 30-40 minutes. There were plenty of staff who seemed busy but somehow couldn't get anything done. The prices for burgers are now too high for what you get. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it as a fast-food place.

Hygiene disaster and extreme wait times (ordered Saturday, December 20th at 2:00 PM and received at 2:43 PM). The hygiene problem started even before we ate. It wasn't possible to wash our hands free of charge after entering the restaurant or after ordering. Every guest was forced to touch the ordering terminals and then eat immediately without being able to clean their hands beforehand. This is completely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective. On top of that, there was massive organizational chaos. Our order number suddenly disappeared from the display. When I asked about it, one employee simply shrugged and left me standing there without a word. Another employee told me that supposedly no order existed. Only a third employee took charge and finally put the order together. Several other guests experienced similar situations. The total wait time was over 40 minutes. When the food finally arrived, the order was also wrong. A small order of fries was completely missing. Instead of two double chicken burgers, there was one regular, but already cold, chicken burger and one double burger on the tray. A cheeseburger we ordered without pickle and mustard turned out to be a completely ordinary one. Another cheeseburger we ordered was a still-warm Double Beef Classic. The iced tea we ordered had a greasy film on the surface. We were so fed up that we left the restaurant without further discussion. We will consistently avoid this branch on our route along the A5 in the future. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed, and under these circumstances, there was clearly no time for hygiene in the kitchen. The floor was littered with dropped ingredients and packaging, and the restaurant floor was sticky with old receipts, paper, and the occasional food scrap because the staff simply couldn't keep up.

There were a few unpleasant incidents on site: the pay toilets weren't clean, the coffee was only served in paper cups, the children's gift was forgotten when ordering, the wrong dish was brought, and the fries were already cold. The staff were friendly and rectified everything, but it all took forever.

The restrooms are pay-to-use. That would be fine, but they stink, the automatic cleaning system is broken, as is the soap dispenser. There's no hand sanitizer to be found. Instead, you have to touch all the doors. The only hand dryer is a fan. The restroom voucher can only be redeemed at the register. The McDonald's fish had been on the warming plate for so long that the pathetic half-slice of cheese had dried out. The extra cheese was only half a slice and only on one burger. One burger was missing, as was one order of fries. The staff was unfriendly when we complained.

Tonight I waited 20 minutes for two burgers

Although there were only a few customers at McDonald's, my fries were half-cold and not entirely fresh. Similarly, my regular coffee came in a paper cup even though I had requested "eat in." (Waste reduction) Besides, I prefer drinking from a cup rather than a paper cup.

The food was as usual, but the staffing levels in the branches are steadily declining. Today was another prime example. The staff barely understands German and apparently can't read or write properly. Several items were missing from the order, even simple things like the Happy Meal. This seems to be due to the absolutely inadequate training of the staff, and you can't really blame the employees except for the language barrier, which certainly doesn't make the situation any easier. The toilet situation is, of course, completely unacceptable, but somehow typical of Germany since you have to pay everywhere anyway...

Thanks for the free fries I didn't order. And especially thanks for the vegetarian wrap that had meat in it. Perhaps you should consider hiring interpreters in your restaurant, in addition to installing new microphones in the drive-thru, because I feel like some of the staff there no longer understand me in my native language.

McDonald's has never been great when it comes to food. But now it even costs money to return a coffee you bought at another McDonald's. I think it's really awful that there are now turnstiles everywhere at McDonald's and you have to pay. It means you have to buy food first and then you can go to the bathroom. You can't do it the other way around, because then you can't use your coupon. You guys are the worst!

I would give zero stars if possible! They're blatantly ripping people off with the toilet fee! I paid for a €15 meal and the staff refused to refund the €1 deposit for using the toilet. Disgusting!

We placed our order at the self-service kiosk. After a long wait, we went to the restroom. It costs €1 per person. There's a sign in the restrooms saying that the restroom receipt can be used with your order. We went to the cashier and wanted to include the receipt in our order. According to the employee, this wasn't possible, and a refund wasn't offered either. We were told to place new orders. We felt cheated and demanded to cancel the order, but apparently that wasn't possible either, since the order was placed at the kiosk. After the situation became tense, even with the branch manager, and we invoked our right of withdrawal, the staff relented and gave us a voucher, which is supposedly valid nationwide. The next customer had the same issue, and the same thing happened. We received our order after about 25 minutes and drove on with it. On the way, we noticed that the burgers had almost no sauce or lettuce on them. The food was also cold. Only the nuggets were warm. I strongly advise against using this branch.

The worst McDonald's we've been to. The potatoes were cold, we asked for a replacement. But the worst thing is the paid toilet🤬…. it's the bottom, we gave these checks when paying, but after we ate - we have to wash our hands… pay again? Are you serious???

Absolutely outrageous regarding the use of the restrooms. Paying a euro that technically isn't credited to the app when ordering, and when you pay at the checkout, they only refund 50 cents! I really enjoy eating at McDonald's when I travel, but I'll avoid them in the future!

To optimize the time (and ensure the fastest possible onward journey), you order and pay at the terminal and then go to the restroom either afterward or before continuing your journey. I was at McDonald's recently, and I heard the boss complaining about the employees, saying they're all foreigners. He said we should let a non-foreigner work at McDonald's for that kind of pay. I think that's truly racist, the boss, who's from Giessen. My recommendation was that I wouldn't go there again.

Unfortunately, the worst McDonald's visit I've ever had. October 2, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. It was busy, but: The chicken nuggets were cold, as were the cheeseburgers. The finished goods were parked on a "grab and go" table under a lamp. None of the employees knew when the food was placed there. Especially since the table was overflowing with packages and unsorted. A woman returned a package of food, and it was placed on this table, ready for the next one. That's not hygiene and bad food handling. The tray carts were overflowing. The restaurant was dirty. I won't stop there again.

Absolutely not recommended. Everything is automated. The employees are very unfriendly and annoyed that you even speak to them. This fast-food chain seems like: "Order and pay for your food and leave."

Long waiting times, poor organization, and the toilet refund process is very confusing and only works before booking.

If a McDonald's is located on a busy highway like the A5, you'd expect a large crowd. Especially since there are often traffic jams here. We've been here many times, and it's always busy, but today it was truly unbearable. We waited 35 minutes in a completely sub-zero room for our food. All the sauces were missing, and the food was cold on top of that. Unbelievably bad today.

It took 40 minutes from ordering to receiving the food. Even though there weren't many customers. After placing an order at the kiosk, I had to wait 8 minutes for the cashier. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, it simply disappeared, and I had to contact the staff. After that, it took 7 minutes for it to arrive. It took 40 minutes to get my order at a fast food restaurant. The fries were disappointing, incredibly greasy and a bit oversalted. The burger was partially falling apart.

What's the point of wanting to go to the bathroom after eating and having to pay for it? What a joke. And where the hell are the straws? If you want to sit outside, you constantly have to worry about a wasp in your Coke. And when you ask for a lid and a straw, the only answer you get is this: Don't cling to every straw like that. What kind of world do you live in?

It's a shame that you have to pay €1 to use the restroom, and the voucher can only be redeemed with cash. And most people pay digitally. That way, you can earn some extra cash. And that's as a customer...🤔🤨

Probably the worst McDonalds we have been to) Food- burger and wrap looked half empty… drinks so so and missing straws for cold iced latte. No extra sugar if needed. No free wifi! 1 euro per toilet visit even as customer. And then you can’t pay at the machhine and must go to cashier to get money redeemed…

The staff is having fun instead of working. Waiting 25 minutes for a van when traffic is light is a joke. If they'd get to work instead of standing around, things would be better.

This McDonald's branch was a hygiene nightmare, and the health department should urgently visit. While I was waiting for my food, I made the mistake of observing the kitchen and the employees preparing the food. The employees were topping the burgers without gloves. They first touched their faces and noses, coughed into their hands, and then reached into the lettuce and placed it on the burger. One employee had long artificial fingernails and was topping the burgers without gloves, which is not allowed. She then brought trays to the table and took the line number (which had already been touched by 100 customers). She didn't wash her hands, didn't put on gloves, and started topping the next burger. This made me lose my appetite. This area urgently needs to be monitored and qualified staff hired.

Absolute disaster! The staff is completely overwhelmed. I ordered a wrap without honey mustard sauce. Of course, I got it and complained immediately. The wrap was thrown in the trash in front of me, completely splattered, and the new wrap was practically thrown together by the super-irritated staff and served to me almost empty. Additionally, the wrap was now completely devoid of sauce (even without the second sandwich sauce).

I've been a customer there for a while and have never had a bad experience. The food is always nice and hot and fresh, and the outdoor and indoor areas are absolutely stunning. On Sundays and Fridays, it's naturally busier than usual, but the employees still manage well and without stress. Very good McDonald's. 😊

First you have to pay one euro for the toilet and then you get a coupon for 1 euro which you can redeem. The toilets were dirty and unhygienic even though you pay for them, the urinals were full it was just disgusting. The biggest disgrace is that even if you have placed an order you still have to pay for the toilet every time. The coupon can only be offset against your purchase at the counter, not at the terminals. After we saw this, we placed our order at the counter where we had to wait 10 minutes for staff. After waiting forever the food was cold when it arrived and half of it was forgotten. All the sauces were forgotten, as well as ketchup and mayo. Then I had to fight with the waiter to get the forgotten sauces. Worst McDonald's I have ever been to! I can only recommend everyone to go to KFC or Burger King instead.

The McDonald's at Pfefferhöhe 1 in Alsfeld is a typical fast-food restaurant with a convenient location right off the A5, ideal for travelers. The food, such as Big Macs and chicken nuggets, is fresh and up to standard. The staff seems friendly, but a bit stressed during rush hour. Cleanliness could be improved, especially in the restrooms. Overall, it's decent for a quick stop, but not outstanding.

Making toilette with gates and "ask for special permission" at desk - is the weirdest thing possible. Starting hating McDonald's as brand for such stupid rules

The food and service have deteriorated so much. I don't know why we still go there, but after a three-hour drive, we have to take a coffee break. My husband orders a takeaway coffee and only gets milk, and is supposed to pay €3.60 for it. After finally getting it sorted, he gets the coffee in a cup, not to take away. We wanted to eat there with table service, but it never arrived. It was just there for pickup, and we sat outside and waited. At least five minutes passed before we finally asked. It was only lukewarm, and the fries were soggy. So, it's deteriorated so much, and for the price, it's sad.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit. A wait of over 30 minutes for a simple order. The employees were obviously new, which is understandable – but they were completely overwhelmed, seemed disoriented, and had no overview whatsoever. Another problem was that no one spoke German, only English. In a German restaurant, at least basic communication in German should be possible. This was a real hurdle for many guests. The management was also extremely unfriendly and hectic, which only made the situation worse. It was a real crush – over 20 people were waiting at the counter at the same time, crammed full force. There was no sign of organization or customer service. Oh yes – and of course, my order was wrong in the end. But I was absolutely fed up with waiting any longer and was glad to leave. I've never experienced anything like this at McDonald's. Hopefully, this will improve soon, because it's not acceptable.

I ordered a cappuccino in a medium-sized to-go cup, as well as food at the restaurant. The cappuccino was served in a cup. I politely pointed out to the server that I had ordered it in a medium-sized cup. Annoyed and grumbling, she walked away. She came back with the cup, tipped the cappuccino over in front of me, and disappeared without a word of apology. In my opinion, this server is completely out of place!

We waited over 20 minutes (yes, you read that right – TWENTY MINUTES) for something as simple as a burger and some fries. When we finally got our food (after being stared down by uninterested employees with blank stares), of course something was missing! Surprise surprise… So we had to get up and complain – which no one should have to do when you’ve paid for a full menu! And it only gets worse: 🍟 The fries? Half full and tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for 3 hours. 🥗 The salad? A pathetic excuse for greens – limp, tasteless and downright inedible. I wouldn’t even feed it to my rabbit! The staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than at work. No apology, no smile, not even an attempt at service. Conclusion: Better go to bed hungry than set foot here. This place is a disgrace to the McDonald's name. 0 stars - if I could give a minus, I would gladly do so.

20 minutes for a burger, a Coke, and a fries (which arrived cold) is simply too long. Better service or more staff would definitely earn you some points here.
