I don't like McDonald's, I've always been disappointed by the dirty, sloppy food... BUT this one – clean, the food was delicious! You can also conjure up something great from ready-made products. Friendly. Highly recommended 😜

If a McDonald's is located on a busy highway like the A5, you'd expect a large crowd. Especially since there are often traffic jams here. We've been here many times, and it's always busy, but today it was truly unbearable. We waited 35 minutes in a completely sub-zero room for our food. All the sauces were missing, and the food was cold on top of that. Unbelievably bad today.

Long waiting times, poor organization, and the toilet refund process is very confusing and only works before booking.

It took 40 minutes from ordering to receiving the food. Even though there weren't many customers. After placing an order at the kiosk, I had to wait 8 minutes for the cashier. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, it simply disappeared, and I had to contact the staff. After that, it took 7 minutes for it to arrive. It took 40 minutes to get my order at a fast food restaurant. The fries were disappointing, incredibly greasy and a bit oversalted. The burger was partially falling apart.

What's the point of wanting to go to the bathroom after eating and having to pay for it? What a joke. And where the hell are the straws? If you want to sit outside, you constantly have to worry about a wasp in your Coke. And when you ask for a lid and a straw, the only answer you get is this: Don't cling to every straw like that. What kind of world do you live in?

It's a shame that you have to pay €1 to use the restroom, and the voucher can only be redeemed with cash. And most people pay digitally. That way, you can earn some extra cash. And that's as a customer...🤔🤨

Probably the worst McDonalds we have been to) Food- burger and wrap looked half empty… drinks so so and missing straws for cold iced latte. No extra sugar if needed. No free wifi! 1 euro per toilet visit even as customer. And then you can’t pay at the machhine and must go to cashier to get money redeemed…

The staff is having fun instead of working. Waiting 25 minutes for a van when traffic is light is a joke. If they'd get to work instead of standing around, things would be better.

This McDonald's branch was a hygiene nightmare, and the health department should urgently visit. While I was waiting for my food, I made the mistake of observing the kitchen and the employees preparing the food. The employees were topping the burgers without gloves. They first touched their faces and noses, coughed into their hands, and then reached into the lettuce and placed it on the burger. One employee had long artificial fingernails and was topping the burgers without gloves, which is not allowed. She then brought trays to the table and took the line number (which had already been touched by 100 customers). She didn't wash her hands, didn't put on gloves, and started topping the next burger. This made me lose my appetite. This area urgently needs to be monitored and qualified staff hired.

Absolute disaster! The staff is completely overwhelmed. I ordered a wrap without honey mustard sauce. Of course, I got it and complained immediately. The wrap was thrown in the trash in front of me, completely splattered, and the new wrap was practically thrown together by the super-irritated staff and served to me almost empty. Additionally, the wrap was now completely devoid of sauce (even without the second sandwich sauce).

No English-speaking staff. Burgers squashed and leaking ketchup. Dirty tables, overflowing tray storage. One of the worst Macs I've ever been to. Expensive. €2 more than in France for the Mac Smart Menu set.

I've been a customer there for a while and have never had a bad experience. The food is always nice and hot and fresh, and the outdoor and indoor areas are absolutely stunning. On Sundays and Fridays, it's naturally busier than usual, but the employees still manage well and without stress. Very good McDonald's. 😊

I drove through the McDrive. The burgers were cold and old (the bread was already shriveled), and the 9-pack of nuggets only had 6 in it.

First you have to pay one euro for the toilet and then you get a coupon for 1 euro which you can redeem. The toilets were dirty and unhygienic even though you pay for them, the urinals were full it was just disgusting. The biggest disgrace is that even if you have placed an order you still have to pay for the toilet every time. The coupon can only be offset against your purchase at the counter, not at the terminals. After we saw this, we placed our order at the counter where we had to wait 10 minutes for staff. After waiting forever the food was cold when it arrived and half of it was forgotten. All the sauces were forgotten, as well as ketchup and mayo. Then I had to fight with the waiter to get the forgotten sauces. Worst McDonald's I have ever been to! I can only recommend everyone to go to KFC or Burger King instead.

The McDonald's at Pfefferhöhe 1 in Alsfeld is a typical fast-food restaurant with a convenient location right off the A5, ideal for travelers. The food, such as Big Macs and chicken nuggets, is fresh and up to standard. The staff seems friendly, but a bit stressed during rush hour. Cleanliness could be improved, especially in the restrooms. Overall, it's decent for a quick stop, but not outstanding.

Making toilette with gates and "ask for special permission" at desk - is the weirdest thing possible. Starting hating McDonald's as brand for such stupid rules

The food and service have deteriorated so much. I don't know why we still go there, but after a three-hour drive, we have to take a coffee break. My husband orders a takeaway coffee and only gets milk, and is supposed to pay €3.60 for it. After finally getting it sorted, he gets the coffee in a cup, not to take away. We wanted to eat there with table service, but it never arrived. It was just there for pickup, and we sat outside and waited. At least five minutes passed before we finally asked. It was only lukewarm, and the fries were soggy. So, it's deteriorated so much, and for the price, it's sad.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit. A wait of over 30 minutes for a simple order. The employees were obviously new, which is understandable – but they were completely overwhelmed, seemed disoriented, and had no overview whatsoever. Another problem was that no one spoke German, only English. In a German restaurant, at least basic communication in German should be possible. This was a real hurdle for many guests. The management was also extremely unfriendly and hectic, which only made the situation worse. It was a real crush – over 20 people were waiting at the counter at the same time, crammed full force. There was no sign of organization or customer service. Oh yes – and of course, my order was wrong in the end. But I was absolutely fed up with waiting any longer and was glad to leave. I've never experienced anything like this at McDonald's. Hopefully, this will improve soon, because it's not acceptable.

I ordered a cappuccino in a medium-sized to-go cup, as well as food at the restaurant. The cappuccino was served in a cup. I politely pointed out to the server that I had ordered it in a medium-sized cup. Annoyed and grumbling, she walked away. She came back with the cup, tipped the cappuccino over in front of me, and disappeared without a word of apology. In my opinion, this server is completely out of place!

Surprise surprise… So we had to get up and complain – which no one should have to do when you’ve paid for a full menu! And it only gets worse: 🍟 The fries? Half full and tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for 3 hours. 🥗 The salad? A pathetic excuse for greens – limp, tasteless and downright inedible. I wouldn’t even feed it to my rabbit! The staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than at work. No apology, no smile, not even an attempt at service. Conclusion: Better go to bed hungry than set foot here. This place is a disgrace to the McDonald's name. 0 stars - if I could give a minus, I would gladly do so.

20 minutes for a burger, a Coke, and a fries (which arrived cold) is simply too long. Better service or more staff would definitely earn you some points here.

Service was very unfriendly, the food was like slapped together

No table sign for table service, no receipt from the ordering machine, toilets cost €1, supposedly with a token, but it didn't come out. Two toilets were broken. One of the four burgers ordered was forgotten, the person behind the counter didn't speak German, and English was so-so. A shame; definitely my last visit here.

My experience at McDonald's today was unfortunately disappointing. I was just there and found that both the service and hygiene left a lot to be desired. ➡️ The fries were cold – not lukewarm, but really cold, as if someone had prepared them way too early. ➡️ Even more serious, however, was that an employee touched the donuts with his bare hands and then simply placed them in the bag – without gloves, tongs, or a napkin. (My 7-year-old daughter pointed this out to me – even a child notices something like that.) This is absolutely unhygienic and simply unacceptable for a restaurant. When I complained, I didn't receive a single word of apology – quite the opposite: The employees seemed annoyed and unfriendly, even asking "who's going to clean this up now" when I placed the cold fries on the counter. They reacted dismissively and then, after a few minutes, brought me new fries without comment. No "I'm sorry," no friendly tone – simply nothing. Not a word. This isn't how I imagine modern customer service – especially not from a brand like McDonald's, where you can expect at least a minimum level of quality and friendliness. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously – because this is how you lose customers permanently.

Very poor service. I ordered food and paid by card. While I was waiting for my food, I went to the restroom – which I had to pay for! As "compensation," I received a €1 voucher, which can only be redeemed with cash. I did not receive a refund for the restroom fee. The voucher is only valid at this McDonald's. Very poor service. The McDonald's is easy to get to and there are plenty of parking spaces. There's a gas station, a restaurant, and KFC nearby. We arrived around 2:30 p.m. and they had run out of reusable shakes, and unfortunately, no chocolate shakes either. All of the chicken wings were sold out. There was no table number and none had been refilled the entire time we were there. It was nice and quiet and there were enough free seats. You have to pay €1 to use the restroom, even as a customer. Tables are cleaned infrequently, but the food is hot and freshly prepared - at least as fresh as you can get at a McDonald's.

Not recommended, especially for the McCafé. They have a professional coffee machine, but then secretly prepare the coffee using a ready-made machine. You, as a customer, are essentially being cheated.

First of all...we were last there 11 years ago. Yesterday (July 6, 2025) we were there again. A disaster. The restrooms were so-so, and there was no toilet paper. Ordering was relatively quick, but two items were missing. But we got them. Tables were sticky, and the food was generally lukewarm, whether it was the fries 🍟 or nuggets. Unfortunately, the hamburger tasted very old and uneatable. The nuggets were also old. The bottom line...our trip took longer than expected, as other rest stops received a lot of toilet money because the food was immediately eaten. Addendum: If you read the reviews beforehand and didn't think it's still as great as it was 11 years ago...then you'd save yourself this trip and the stomachache.

The cheeseburger was only lukewarm (despite a special order: no pickle), and the Coke had little syrup and CO2. All in all, definitely one of the worse branches.

We wanted a quick breakfast, so we ordered online at the terminal and paid at the checkout. It was anything but good. The sugar and milk we ordered for our coffee were missing. There were no napkins, and the staff were completely overwhelmed. And this was a Monday morning at 9:45 a.m. Once and never again.

I ordered a Double Chicken Big Mac meal and the 5 chicken wings. I'd barely finished the first Big Mac when I wanted the second one. I opened one of the other boxes and it had chicken wings inside. Okay, so they must be in the last box. But that wasn't the case. The third box also had chicken wings. That was very disappointing because I really like the Chicken Big Mac, which is exactly why I ordered this meal.

We visited this McDonald's yesterday. Absolutely terrible. After waiting 35 minutes for two cheeseburgers, our order and about five other orders simply disappeared from the board. Unfortunately for the employees, everyone still wanted their paid food. Even at the McDonald's Cafe counter, we were ignored for 15-20 minutes. I find waiting 35 minutes for fast food pretty awful. We could have gone out for something nice to eat in that time.

Don’t expect much from McDonald’s but couldn’t even bother heating the nuggets…. And had to go hunting for a straw for the shake…. Bit rubbish….

Today was the last time I visited this establishment. The waitress forgot two items, despite ordering on the touchpad. When I complained to the front desk, one of the salespeople snatched the receipt from my hand and, very reluctantly, asked the cook for the missing items. Seriously, please train your staff in friendliness and service. Because if they can't even do their job properly at McDonald's, the family can be really proud of their loved ones' failures!

I ordered a McWrap with egg and bacon and got it with cheese and a huge amount of dried onions.

Everything was OK, except that you have to pay €1 for the toilet, hence 1* (You get a voucher, which is of no use to me if I need to go after eating or want to wash my hands.)

Nobody wants to eat this crap so they cut people up in the paid toilet even for customers.

We wanted to take a short break and ordered two drinks. The staff were unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. The price for a bottle of water and apple spritzer was €3.99 per bottle without a glass. Once, never again. The table and outside seating were dirty.

The manager is very unfriendly and yells at the staff, throws food onto the tray, and doesn't pay attention to hygiene. Never again!

The shift manager is extremely annoyed and treats the workers and guests accordingly! Extremely unhygienic. Any salad spilled goes back into the container with the fresh salad (it's no longer fresh). We wanted to end the evening at Mces, as they often do after the darts tournament. It was 12:15 a.m. and the door was closed. There was no apparent reason, and the staff turned us away very rudely. At least put a note on the door with some excuse; maybe they'll buy it. But that's not what the franchising company had in mind. We're certain of it. What happened? Well... all the "wrecked" people in front of McDonald's Alsfeld turned up at Burger King Alsfeld a short time later. It was so nice there, we'll meet again next Friday. Bye!

After eating, it was a real struggle to keep the food down. Safety: Oh, and yes, there are high-voltage devices everywhere in the room. No warning signs or barriers. Anywhere where children are running around and drinks are being moved around, drinks (liquids) coming into contact with electrical devices can cause a fatal accident. Where should I even begin... We just wanted to take the kids to McDonald's for a "quick" bite. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes, we wanted our money back! The employee, a nice man with glasses, convinced me to take the food after all. He took the order right away. When we finally got to the table, we realized that half of our order was wrong and cold. Only the fries were freshly prepared. Which I don't understand, since it was really busy and burgers had to be prepared all the time. Or maybe, like at Burger King, they were storing the old meat in the drawers and using it. Maybe Team Wallraff should take a look undercover here!

I wait 30 minutes for my food in the store and others get it earlier than me

First of all, I love fast but bad food. "Fast" is relative in this context, as I've already been waiting 25 minutes for what I expect will be a beef loaded with antibiotics. Apart from that, I find the outdoor facilities very nice, apart from the fact that children leave all sorts of limbs in the playground. We were there today, June 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. We waited 45 minutes for two burgers and an ice cream. After our number disappeared from the display, I was told "it'll be right there." It's really cool when the opening hours say 2:00 a.m., but at 12:15 a.m. you're not allowed in. Of course, no explanation or anything. The Burger King downstairs was kind enough to serve us something. It makes the decision about which restaurant to visit next much easier. 😉

This McDonald's reminded me of a train station. The average wait time was an hour, and the staff were completely overwhelmed. There were some crying children, and the customers were justifiably angry. The service staff were completely overwhelmed, but not open to criticism. This was the first and last time I visited this McDonald's. The staff's overwork also led to an increase in complaints. It's impossible to use these unusable monitors for self-ordering. They flicker unbearably, are totally confusing, and are unusable for the visually impaired... everything has to be accessible, but barriers are being erected here and discrimination is rampant.... I doubt it's done the same way in the US; it would cost billions there... Conditions only possible from a 2-meter distance... The poor employees who help customers... And lukewarm unsalted fries to go with it... No tidying up or cleaning either... dropped burgers and leftovers under the table...
