McDonald's in Hamburg

We visited the branch on February 14th, 2025 in the evening at 7:30 p.m. It wasn't full at first, but you still shouldn't notice that. I ordered via self-order with special requests and wanted to pay at the checkout. There I was ignored by 6 employees. An older lady was fumbling around with an order in such a calm state that the food was certainly already cold. Everyone else played dead bug. They were all so extremely slow with their work that one had the impression that everyone had just started working there that day. I actually waited almost 20 minutes all in all before I got my food. And there was almost nothing going on at first. However, after me it became extremely congested. You can't expect international behavior there either. If you don't understand your order number in German, you shouldn't expect it to be called out again in English. Embarrassing, really. Hamburg also wants to be an everyday city. Luckily I don't have to go there often. At least the special requests worked and the branch itself is clean. I don't often write reviews, but I had to get this one off my chest in the hopes that something will change.

Super friendly woman, in a great mood at work early in the morning! You don't see that often :)

This is by far the most anti-social McDonald's, that I have ever visited. Employees overwhelmed, tables not wiped down, mass processing. Burgers so loveless and sloppily popped into the packaging that one I could hardly identify it as such, let alone get it in my hand in a way that was even remotely edible. DISGUSTING

Went to Mc Café today and were very satisfied. Everyone had a cappuccino, a strawberry slice and a chocolate cake which was very tasty but also very powerful. The lady who served us was very friendly. We also liked the ambience and the tray with our dishes was collected. Everything was also very clean and well maintained.

The McCafé here is really great too! My coffee was nice and strong and the sweet particles were simply heavenly. The atmosphere is relaxed and I always like to come back for a quick coffee. A nice place to take a break.

Was asked twice if everything was there and if everything was ok, never experienced that before! People also asked questions at the other tables, absolutely great! It was a great stay, thank you very much 👍🏼

I wanted to redeem a coupon using the McDonald’s app. I received a code, but it didn't show up on the McDonald's checkout screen. The employee didn't get the problem fixed, nor did her boss. I didn't buy anything because I couldn't redeem the coupon. However, 2 stars because they tried to fix the problem and didn't send me away.

If there are problems or complaints, they get violent and hit customers! Management sees this as “unfriendliness” towards the customer and would like to offer training for more “friendliness”.

Worst ever. Ordered a meal and milkshake. Got a cold burger not even the cheese had melted. No fries either. And they had no milkshake so forced me to pay many € for an extra soda I did not want. Avoid this place.

Decent McDonalds in Terminal 1 of HAM. Service was very fast and food was good. Ok for a quick meal before a flight.

For breakfast menu needed to wait 17min, not as expected in fast food restaurant. Order was basic for breakfast.

Be careful, if you complain, the employees will be rude and violent. Today I observed an employee having an “argument” with a guest and then suddenly hitting the customer and kicking in. This is a no-go and everyone should avoid this branch!

We used to love coming here when our daughter was little. We ordered the new breakfast burrito and it came cold with more lettuce and cheese than egg. The staff was extremely nice and gave me a NEW sandwich - warm with just egg. Beware though, McDonald’s menu has changed. No more yummy eggs and pancakes - everything is meant to be held and eaten in your hand. I also had to get my decaf coffee and the neighboring restaurant. Oh well - still a nice playground for kids and a friendly staff.

We ordered two cheeseburgers and two double burgers on a Friday evening at approx. 9.30 p.m. Cold burger bun, almost cold steak, slow service despite many employees and few customers. Absolutely miserable. The worst MD meal I've ever had

It was the worst fastfood chain .More slower than a turtle .The girl in the cashier dont know how to her job .I ordered my food and took 40 mins. to be served .

From 9 p.m. the table numbers are cleared away so that you can only pick up the food. In addition, only takeaway bags are distributed so that you no longer have to clean the trays. Oh and my fries were old and cold.

Simply the worst McDonald's in Hamburg. Unfriendly staff. No table service when paying in cash (how stupid??) The table wasn't delivered and then I was cheekily lied to. By far the worst service experience at a fast food chain ever.

Staff talk loudly about smoking weed and their own cocaine use and effects. In a public area where children are also completely out of place and inappropriate.

Despite the high number of customers, the food was prepared very quickly and tasted good.

The queue is 20 people long, 2 of the 6 machines go. I couldn't pay at the machine then this employee comes and laughs at me cheekily, he also thinks he's funny or something. Ordering at the checkout was a disaster, everything was misunderstood by him. Food cold and old. Had to go to the checkout 3 times to pick up things he forgot.

Usless service. Waited for 1 hour for my food and I still had to go ask for it as I probably wouldn't have received it for another 1 hour or never! Never again!

Almost missed my flight because they are so slow.

👎👎I placed an order at the machine as an emergency solution, unfortunately it was a bad experience. We waited over 40 minutes (!!) for the food and this only happened when we asked - otherwise it would have just disappeared and remained somewhere in the chaos of the kitchen. The take-away drinks were simply placed in a paper cup. How are you supposed to transport these without a lid and carrying aid? Completely unstructured, chaotic work system among the countless workers, no space for waiting customers and the food, which had long since become cold, didn't taste good either. I definitely could have saved this money...

Food MC Donald standard, atmosphere cool for kids. Service was once again a disaster - a middle-aged employee refused to hand over two straws and smiled cheekily. This is not helpful, especially if you have two children who have to share a drink. Overwhelmed when entering the order.

Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with today's visit. It started with me getting an old mug without the McDonald's ab sticker. I had to go to the counter again and point it out to the employees. A short time later I ordered another menu. That works but with ice the same problem again. Instead of a reusable cup, I was given a disposable cup and the peel off mäcci stickers were missing again. After I wanted my money back for the ice cream, the shift manager gave me two cups with the stickers. But it was still annoying and put a damper on my experience in this branch for the day

One of the most beautiful branches of the fast food chain in the world. An incredibly beautiful playground for children. A great view of the airport runway for adults. Food of proven quality.

Wiated 20 minutes for 2 burgers. I then asked how much longer and was told 'this is a fast food restaurant ' despite showing my receipt of the time it was ordered. After 33 minutes spoke to manager who assisted quickly. Was not enjoyable.

Fast - lukewarm and sticky. McDonald's supposedly has the same quality everywhere. That would be a reason for me never to go there again. Luckily there are better McDonald’s.

On May 12, 2024 at 11:49 a.m. we ordered two frozen yogurts to take away from the terminal and immediately went to pick them up at the counter. The pickup display system was broken. After two minutes, our frozen yoghurts were standing next to hot coffees in front of the espresso machine. Despite repeated advice from colleagues, they were not released. Burgers and fries were coming out all the time and there were now 6 sundaes, two frozen drinks and two coffees in front of the espresso machine. After 8 minutes the time had come and of course - how could it be otherwise - the ice had already melted a lot. I then pointed out this and the long standing time and asked that the two frozen yoghurts be remade. After consulting with a colleague (probably a supervisor), I was asked whether I could accept the ice cream like that. When I politely said no and explained it again, the supervisor came back with a snappy “So, what’s your problem?” That was already underground. My explanation was followed by “That melted for you?” - “Yes.” - “Yeah, for YOU, it melted for YOU.” After more back and forth, she remade the ice cream and slammed it onto the tray with two spoons. Of course there was no excuse for the long wait - just rudeness. That was my last visit here - you can be disorganized sometimes, but if you as a customer are insulted and have to argue about getting the product you paid for in an acceptable condition... big fail.

Catastrophe! Despite a lot of service staff, there was no sign of organization at all. The finished food and drinks were piled up everywhere. Our two frozen yoghurts stood in front of the hot coffee machine for 10 minutes, along with at least six other iced drinks. It's great when it all melts away like that. After one of the employees desperately pointed out to her colleague that someone would bring the iced drinks to the customer, it took another five minutes until someone actually did so. When we received our two frozen yogurts, we immediately returned them because they melted. We then had to have a serious discussion with the extremely unfriendly and hard-to-understand employee (she could barely speak German). Absolutely bad.

The fries were limp. The veggie burger had no taste. The coke had no spark in it. After bringing it back we got the same coke. We tried another Mc Flurry with cookies but it was so sweet that we left it after two bites. We arrived late after a flight and were hungry. But we don't do this anymore. In these times and prices you can no longer sell such junk.

Unfortunately the fries were cold and the cola was non-carbonated. The best thing was the outside area because you could see the planes landing and taking off. Once and never again!!!

Refers to McCafe: Rarely have I experienced such demotivated and unfriendly service. The cappuccino is just loveless and bad. Poor preparation. A (wooden!) spoon was reluctantly given upon request. Very very annoying.

One more restaurant from the franchise that does not disappoint compared to the rest.

04/28 at 10:00 there was only one cashier who did everything from taking orders to frying potatoes and taking out other orders / Because of this, we could not pay for the order for about 20 minutes in a queue of 3 people

If I had read the reviews beforehand, I could have saved myself a lot of time. The pick-up system doesn't seem to work and then my order of 2 cheeseburgers was simply forgotten.... Of course it's great if you have a hungry child with you who is of course impatient. It's best to close the location straight away. I've already seen branches with 5 times the crowd and it works perfectly...

There is a good viewing platform nearby with a view of the runway.

You don't expect culinary masterpieces from McDonald's and even if slow food is modern, I don't want that in a fast food restaurant. When I read in the recession that you have to bring your time here and that's why I thought, well then just have a burger, hamburger Royal Dobble cheese without any special requests without any extras, how long can that take. Before I go into further detail, here's a LONG spoiler... A hustle and bustle like a heap of ants in which a wasp has invaded but no elegance, the only one who feels like he has control over the whole thing is a young man who I asked after waiting for over half an hour where my burger was... With a look at the note he assured me that I would get my burger straight away. After another 5 minutes the burger was lukewarm. HOW DOES THAT WORK? you just made the thing, you have a production throughput like the iPhone 2 did back then, the burgers have to be hot, When I order an MC Rip in my shop around the corner with 2 pattis, the burger is so hot that the first layer of the roof of my mouth falls off the roof. How can a freshly made burger BE LUKEWARM. Then there are people standing around, I'm aware that you can't always go full throttle, but when there's a lady standing around you just want to scream at her IF YOU'RE BORED GO TO THE BACK AND HAVE MY BURGER and then there's another person who acts like he's the boss (maybe he is the boss) but doesn't get anything close to it, then you're just annoyed. More staff won't solve the problem, you simply need more space and I know that nothing will change because you live from walk-in customers. But gentlemen, you are bad.

Unfortunately very unfriendly bosses there. Staff works hard and is friendly. Orders are only possible at the terminal. It's a shame, otherwise it would have been the same at the counter. I won't be able to come back that quickly.

The food was brought to the table after 20 minutes. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the drinks that were ice cold. To make matters worse, the Big Tasty Bacon didn't have a burger patty (however you manage that). All in all: By far my worst McDonalds experience to date!

Food still wasn't there after 45 minutes. We have cancelled. Totally overloaded and had no perspective. Complete catastrophe. Never experienced anything like this at a McDonalds

They didn't give us any food because they didn't have their situation under control, there weren't enough staff, and the machines appeared to be broken. Simply a disaster. They didn't have any change either.

Staff extremely unfriendly, insults customers and shouts at them because they pick up their order 3 minutes later. Absolutely under all circumstances I will never eat again where I am personally insulted

The worst McDonald's I've ever been to. I'm normally a Mc D. FAN. We ordered and paid for breakfast. After a long time we were told that there was no longer any breakfast. Manager unfriendly. Completely inflexible. One can only hope that Mc.D headquarters will take care of it. Never again

Unfortunately, this place and this branch is too congested and overcrowded. Technology fails, the heat chain fails and waiting times of up to 45 minutes. In the end, the food arrives cold to the customer and annoys them. In this day and age, this needs to be reconsidered - expansion and expansion. Order hot food and get cold food. A McDonald's. View is great and the children's area. It took 3 attempts to hand over my order completely. The employee didn't speak any German, which didn't matter to me but maybe not to other people. The terrace is great.

Mc Café not open despite full display. The employee at the checkout at the restaurant only gives curt answers that they are just as affected by the lack of staff. Then put up a sign, it can't be that extremely difficult.

I am deeply upset and disappointed by what happened to me. As someone who is a vegan, I very rarely go to McDonalds. But the circumstances after a long flight left me no choice: Driven by hunger and under time pressure to catch my train, I went to McDonald's and specifically ordered a plant burger - no cheese, no mayo - and the vegan nuggets. To my horror, I discovered on the train that my express wish had been completely ignored: the burger was with cheese and mayo, the nuggets were made of meat. There I sat, after already seven hours of travel, hungry and with another two hours of driving ahead of me, without the possibility of eating anything. This experience raises a serious question: Why offer the option to specify individual preferences when ordering if, in the end, they are simply ignored? Ignoring my specific order is a huge disappointment.

I waited 30 minutes for 1 burger and 1 drink ("fast food") and then saw another customer return her burger. This burger was then put in my bag and given to me. When I said I wouldn't eat food that had previously been with another customer, they rolled their eyes and said there was nothing to it. I didn't look for a moment and the same burger was put back in my bag. When I asked if it was new, I was told to look in the bag. Absolutely disgusting and rude!!!

Typical McDonald's dishes, very nice employees, we were also allowed to take a balloon with us for our son :) In addition: great play area for the little ones and a great view for young and old!

I received my menu quite quickly, the view at the airport was great and the MC area was also kept clean.

Das Personal will es nicht verstehen und ich sollte die Zentrale per Mail kontaktieren, Ausgang noch ungewiss. Ein Happ- Meal gekauft, falsche Beilage, falsches Spielzeug, falsche Soße und die andere Soße vergessen!!! Schlimmer kann man es nicht machen!!

Ich war nur wegen der Kinder da. Ich ernähre mich anders als mit Fastfood.Aber der Kaffee war lecker, auf Wunsch mit Hafermilch. Man kann dort toll sitzen und in die Halle schauen oder man geht auf die Terasse und beobachtet Flugzeuge.Beides ist toll. Manche Mitarbeiter sind freundlich, manche eher wie Roboter, servieren und gehen ohne ein Wort zu sagen.

A great place to grab a drink and some food before going out to the balcony to watch the airport.

They serve international customers but they still insists on reading out orders in German. That's the main reason their orders take long to go out because an international customer will wait until their order is read out in English.

I ordered a large fries and large vanilla shake on the self service screens with payment . When I came to collect, I was informed that there was no shake available. Naturally disappointed, I asked for a refund for the entire order. I was asked to wait, quickly a second person came to inform me that the shake machine was out of order. I said I knew and that I was dissatisfied and would like a full refund ‘But the fries are ok!’ they said. I asked for the manager and for a refund. A third person ( not the manager) appeared and guess what? The shake machine is out of order they informed me. I asked for a refund and was given 4 euros for the shake which I refused. The manager, who had seen this going on, then pointed the third assistant towards the shake machine. After two minutes a shake appeared. I took the opportunity to ask the manager to update the self service screens if the product is unavailable. He could hardly be bothered to make eye contact. The shake whilst basically ok was a little more fluid than normal, one could say substandard. You will be luck to get what you order at this MacDonalds and even luckier yo experience good customer service, but then again is it ever on the menu at MacDonalds nowadays?
